Rate this book
Learn to collaborate with others, think on your feet, and celebrate mistakes using the skills of improv theater.

So many of us go through life following scripts we didn’t write for ourselves—scripts designed by our family, shaped by our friends, and influenced by the expectations of the people we meet. Using practical self-help skills rooted in improv principles and depth psychology, we can live more authentic, fulfilled, and empowered lives.

I've never taken an improv class before but now I see how the basis of improve could be useful in other aspects of our lives too. Most of the ideas written in this book involves letting go. Letting go of judgement of our selves, of others, and of our circumstances. It will be scary, it will be hard, and it will also be freeing. Don't be afraid of making mistakes or facing setbacks, because as long as you accept them, you will make a great story.

improv saves!! good introduction to the benefits of improv, the play that enables waking up to the aliveness of our lives. If you are interested in taking an improv class and need a nudge, or a little reassurance, this book is it.

I took improv classes years ago so I was familiar with the games mentioned in the book. It was a good reminder, though, of how to apply those principles in everyday living.
