Stella Knight writes time travel romance and historical romance novels. She enjoys transporting readers to different times and places with vivid, nuanced heroes and heroines.
Isabelle, even though she received a message from Fiona, still wonders what happened to her friend. Although Fiona let her know she was happy and asked Isabelle not to look for her, Fiona did not indicate where she was or what had happened to her.
Upon learning that Fiona might have time-traveled to the past, she is determined to find out for herself. She flies to Scotland and a woman takes her to the castle ruins where she is whisked away to the year 1390. She meets a man named Ciaran who protects her from bandits.
Ciaran was laird of his clan but now languishes in the dungeon of his own castle. His brother Tavish has murdered their younger brother Ioan and blamed Ciaran for it. He has been sentenced to hang. His friends release him from his cell and he is on the run, an outlaw. That's when he meets the strange woman in the woods where is camped for the night.
I received this ARC for a honest review and I will say that I absolutely loved it. Time travel has always fascinated me and this book did not fail to deliver. Isabelle is searching for her friend that went missing in Scotland and what she finds is more than she bargained for. The chemistry between her and Ciaran is alluring and heartfelt. Stella does a good job of making you think outside the box. Well done.
I read all the way through the book and realized that it wasn't the first in the series at the very end. That was a bummer because I never like reading books out of order.
I've been on a time-traveling Scottish Historical Romance kick lately and this one popped up iny Kindle recommendations so I clicked on it, read the little excerpt and ordered it.
Isabelle flew to Scotland to search for her missing friend, Fiona. She ends up traveling back to medieval Scotland where she meets a gorgeous Highlander who is on the run for a crime he didn't commit.
The romance was just okay for me. It just wasn't based on anything except desire for each other and neither one of them really had a personality.

My Thoughts:
After I had started this read I wanted more. I didn't have to complete this book to know I wanted to read the first two but after reading it in it's entirety in one day I was happy to see there is going to be another book in this series.
Time travel is a favorite genre and traveling to medieval Scotland my most favorite trope. Now that I have started reading these books, although I started with book #3 I bought one of the first two and borrowed the other one with KindleUnlimited.
I found this to be an enjoyable and suspenseful read. You never know what will happen with your next turn of the page.
I gave this book 4.8 of 5.0 stars for storyline and characterization and a sensual rating of 3.5 of 5.0 flames. The intimacy is very absorbing and this would not be the same book without it. I received a complimentary digital ARC of this book from the author via Bookfunnel to read and review. This in no way affected my opinion of this book which was read and reviewed voluntarily.
I’ve received a review copy of this book. This a brilliant book that shows how two people can fall for each other while having to overcome problems. While the books is part of a series the book features two different people but they are part of the same overall story line which we learn more about as the series moves on.
I started this book knowing it was third in the series and could be read as a standalone. Once I got a couple pages in I decided on my own to check the previous books in the series, which I was able to get. I read the previous books and enjoyed each book more and more. So when I restarted this book, I had more background and was used to the authors style of writing. I'll tell you now up front if she does another in this series, I will be snapping it up right quick too. Isabelle was searching for a friend after she'd gotten a weird letter from her. She decided to retrace her friends steps even better than she planned and also fell back in time where she meets Ciaran, a wrongly displaced laird. When it looked like he'd be captured , he naff sure she went back to her own time so she'd be safe. But she couldn't leave him for long wo worrying about him and was determined to help him regain his rightful place. After doing some research in the current day, she took a chance and went back w info that could save him. She didn't know if she'd arrive in time before he was hanged tho. She did make it back alright w the info needed that could exonerate him but was she in time? Also, now that's she's back will she find her friend? To both of those questions, I say read the book and find out. There's plenty of intrigue as well as live story to follow. And yes, it can easily be read as a standalone book but after reading I think you'll also go back to read the others too. An absolutely fantastic read
Carson's Bond was everything I expected and more. The characters have a wonderful chemistry and the story keeps you guessing. No spoilers from me. You will need to read this beautiful story yourself. The other two stories before this is a must read as well. You will not be disappointed.
The characters were perfect for this time travel romance. Very believable. The plot also very good. Easy read. I read it in one sitting. I couldn't put it down!
I would recommend this book to anyone who finds themselves as intrigued with time travel. It makes want to go to the Scottish highlands. I also wouldn't mind trying to find the ruins.
If you haven't read the series up to this point. Get to reading :-). I truly have enjoyed this series and can't wait to start number 4. I haven't enjoyed a series like this in a while. I devour books like crazy. These have truly been page burners for me. Can't seem to put them down till I'm done. I truly hope that the series keeps going.
I love a well written time story. This one not disappoint. Great story. Great characters. Wonderful sexy love scenes. Written Around a wonderful story. Did I mention wonderful romantic sexy love ?? To drool for. Looking forward to more of her books
I've loved time travel books for years. Ciaran's Bond had endearing characters and a fast paced storyline. A very different type of situation for our hero and a smart heroine who saves him! You'll enjoy this read!
This is an OK Scottish time-travel romance, and an OK addition to The Highlander Fate series. It was entertaining, but it was just too short to have enough character development. I wanted more backstory on both Ciaran and Isabelle, but especially on Isabelle.
I liked both Ciaran and Isabelle, but I wanted them to communicate better. Most of their issues were caused by a lack of communication, brought on partly by a fear of sharing their true selves. I liked that some of the supporting characters helped them get past that, and learn to talk to each other.
One thing that bothered me about this book is the historical mistakes. The men all wear kilts in 1390 Scotland, but they didn't actually start wearing kilts in Scotland until the 16th century. The characters also ride in carriages, which wasn't done in that time period, because the roads were too bad. Everyone rode horses, or traveled in small carts like farmers used -- carriages had not even been invented yet. I suspect the author may have included those two things because of popular movies (like Braveheart) -- but it isn't correct, just because Hollywood does it.
This one get 3.5 stars from me, rounded down to 3 stars.
My rating system is below. 1 star -- Hated it, or did not finish. I usually only give this rating if some of the content is truly objectionable to me, like if one of the main characters does something really awful, and gets away with it. 2 stars -- Didn't like it. This rating usually means that I thought the writing wasn't very good, the editing was terrible, I didn't like the characters, or it had other major flaws. 3 stars -- I liked it, but had some minor issues with it. This rating means that there were minor editing issues, the story needed more character development, it was just too unrealistic, or had some other fairly minor issue. The majority of books I read get this rating – I do not consider it a bad rating. 4 stars -- I liked it a lot. This is a high rating for me, and I rarely give a higher one. 5 stars -- I loved it, and will probably read it again. Very few books are good enough to get this rating from me. The ones that do are usually classics.
I liked this story as well as I did the first. I love the time travel scenario. Isabelle Chapman is a high school teacher of the classics. Her friend goes missing but they are so close she goes looking for her. She flies to Scotland and eventually meets up with Kensa, who takes her to Tairseack. She ends up going thru a portal back in time to 1390. Ciaran Aitharne is laird and chief of his clan, but he has been accused of killing Eoin the next brother in line. The third brother has sentenced him to death. I love when a friend is loyal and even though she goes thru a lot, she still wants to find her friend. The characters are wonderful and believable. The descriptions are amazing. The plot keeps you on your toes. The author wrote an excellent tale full of deceit, jealousy, anger, and hate. There are also some action scenes. I received this ARC from the author and voluntarily reviewed it.
What I love about Stella's writing is: the strong hero with integrity, the fiery heroine with a backbone, and the love strong enough to see them through anything. I have read all of the Highlander Fate books so far, and truly look forward to reading however many more Stella can write. Eadan and Fiona, Ronan and Kara, now Ciaran and Isabelle... strong men falling hard for empowered women. Stories that weave their lives together so closely that the fabric cannot be unraveled. Stories that prove that chivalry is still appreciated and that every woman longs to feel loved and protected, especially in the muscle-bound arms of the man whose heart they have claimed.
I received an ARC copy of this book and I absolutely love this series! Scottish Highlander’s, time travel, and romance are my top favourite reads! This book has it all. I love how the author ties the series together so that if you haven’t read any of the books in a while you can easily pick up what you may have forgotten. I enjoy how the characters show up across different books. I love how the author prepares us for the next book in the series, but it’s hard to wait! It’s a wonderful, quick read for a summer day at the beach or cuddled up with a hot chocolate under a blanket watching the snow! Pick this one up and enjoy!
Ciaran, Chieftain of Clan Aitharne, was in a cell accused of murdering his brother Eoin by his brother Tavish. Tavish plans to have him hung even though he killed Eoin. A friend of Ciaran gets him out of the cell and out of the castle. He takes off for a friend of his to hide out. He fines a bonnie lass named Isabelle who claims she's from the future. Isabelle is looking for a friend of hers named Fiona, they are time travelers. What happens when they get to Ciaran's friend leads to trouble and to see what happens u need to read the book, It's a good book but I don't care for time travel but if u do you'll really enjoy this book.
Wow! So much action and intrigue in this story. Isabelle goes searching for her friend Fiona who went missing in Scotland months ago. She ends up at the crumbling village of Tairseach and is swept back in time as well. Ciaran has been accused of his brother’s murder and is trying to clear his name, while avoiding being hung for the crime. Sparks certainly fly when they meet. When danger threatens, who will save the other? Great storyline, intriguing characters, strong romance with a happy ever after. What more could you want in a book! It was extremely hard to put this one down. I look forward to the next in this series.
Ciaran's Bond Highlander Fate Book Three By Anna Hackett Kindle unlimited purchase Isabelle is Kara's best friend from book 1. Looking for her friend she finds out that Kara traveled through time to 1390. She wouldn't listen to the note that Kara sent back through time saying she was happy and safe nope she had to see it was true even if she had to believe in the impossible. Ciaran is a hard-working man. But when unexpected things start happening he's happy to have Isabelle to help him find out what is going on.
The women in these books are amazing. After traveling over 600 years into the past, it takes no time for them to adjust to medieval life...they automatically know how to ride horses and wield swords, and can discern the details of their lover's eyes at night. In pitch black darkness. They all magically seem to love the silence of the 14th century, and not miss hot showers or tampons or toilet paper. But this is time-traveling romance...who needs details??
‘Ciaran’s Bond,’ was an excellent read! After her best friends disappearance, Isabella takes it upon herself to follow through on all the leads... including those rumors that seem impossible. For Isabella falls through time into an adventure all of her own.
I liked Ciarian and Isabelle's story and I can't honestly say that having received a cryptic letter from a friend that I wouldn't have done the same thing and gone looking for her, regardless of the personal cost. It could have turned out worse. But Fiona was fortunate to have a friend that was willing to go to such great lengths to locate her.
A nicely written story with good interaction between the characters! Being a time travel lover I thought enjoyed this author s books! I'm in the process of reading more of her novels and feel sure the story
Fun, adventurous story about a young woman traveling back to 14th century Scottish Highlands to find her friend and finding the live of her life as well. Easy reading, lovable characters and linking storylines make these books a pleasure to read.
I loved this romantic story just as much as the previous two books. I felt like I got to know the characters, and they were well developed. I look forward to reading the rest of the books in this series!
I loved this story,it was well written the ups and downs and the bond between Ciaran and Isabel was exciting. Look forward to reading more of Stella Knights books
Another enjoyable read in the series. My only co.playing is that they're too short. You can't help liking the heroes, they're too good to be true, but I smile anyway
