Blair Wilkes is having a trying week. Her best friend stands accused of murdering a vampire, and dead bodies are showing up in the forest. She knows Alissa is innocent, but with the vampires out for blood -- more than usual -- tensions in the small town of Fairy Falls are at a tipping point. As if that's not enough, Blair's witchcraft lessons aren't going well, with her wand gaining a life of its own -- not to mention her familiar. And then she discovers something startling about her family that puts her burgeoning relationship with former paranormal hunter Nathan under pressure. Can Blair help a friend and catch a killer, or will she be the next victim?
Elle Adams lives in the middle of England, where she spends most of her time reading an ever-growing mountain of books, planning her next adventure, or writing. Elle's books are humorous mysteries with a paranormal twist and tons of magical mayhem.
She also writes urban and contemporary fantasy novels as Emma L. Adams.
Blair receives a note to meet at the waterfall, it's vague but mentions meeting family.
Before she can though several attacks take place and the whole town is heaving with angry paranormals.
A vampire is poisoned at the hospital and dies. The werewolves blame the vampires when one of their own is found mauled in the woods. A wizard has been turned by a rogue vampire which doesn't help their cause.
When a bunch of flowers are left on Blair and Alissa's doorstep and a witch is injured when she moves them, Blair gets really concerned. The flowers weren't labelled but who left them and why.. booby trapped they'd injure whoever moved them but more ominously the flowers were hemlock and deadly to Blair.
With her magic out of control, and lessons halted because of all the attacks Blair isn't getting the chance to use her special powers to find the killer. She's also trying to admit that she's not just a witch to Nathan.
Will she survive to tell him the truth? And who is the mysterious family member?
Another great read, although I was surprised to note some glaring proofing errors. Her date night keeps being put off and now a dead vampire and a dead shifter have been found. Who is going round and killing people? What is the monster in the woods? The note from her "family" also hasn't borne fruit as due to the murders she is unable to get to the meeting place. Why does her wand not work right? Should she tell her boyfriend the truth about her and when? Is someone after her? Can she and her BFF clear up these questions as everyone else is too busy trying to prevent a war. A good plot but it would have been better if there had been more information on fairies and how their magic worked. The characters are terrific as always but perhaps a new romantic interest might be helpful.
This is a pretty important book in the series. Blair's friend is accused of murder. There's a possible war that is going to happen between werewolves and vampires. Strange notes are showing up for her. There may be problems in her developing relationship with her almost boyfriend.
But no, that's not enough. Her magic is acting weird. Her cat is acting weird. Bodies are starting to pile up. Someone may be trying to kill her with flowers. She has to escape a murderer. On top of all that it turns out her true nature may be coming out and it's not what she expected.
It all makes for a very good story and one with a lot of potential for the future books in the series.
When a vampire is murdered and Alyssa is blamed, Blair is immediately on the case, asking questions and looking for answers. When more bodies appear, it seems the case might be even more complicated than Blair realized…
This book reveals quite a few of Blair’s secrets, and those a few others have also been hiding. In fact, a lot happens to Blair in the story, and only some of it is related to the mystery story that permeates the book. It’s all good though, lots of action, adventure… and yes, there are still magical mishaps!
An enjoyable cosy mystery with a paranormal twist.
Witch in Danger (A Blair Wilkes Mystery Book 3) was written by Elle Adams. Blair Wilkes finds herself in the middle of another Fairy Falls mystery when her best friend and flatmate is accused of murdering a vampire. On top of that it appears that there is hostilities brewing between the various supernaturals of the town when several other murders occur. Overall, this was another good addition to the series. I enjoyed reading it.
Entertaining supernatural cozy mystery series with an incredible cast of characters and a fun and entertaining storyline. Follow along as Blair moves to a new town to get a new job and learns she is different. She soon finds out that she is half which half fairy. Read along as her and her friends stumble across mysteries murders and trouble and then figures out how to solve it. It will keep you entertained
Blair just can't seem to get a handle on her magic, which isn't surprising considering all her cancelled lessons! Then again, between multiple paranormal murders, jailed innocents, an apparently doomed love life, a twist in her abilities, family confusion, and a monster (or two!) to contend with, Blair is kept as distracted as the reader is! The few proofing errors do not detract from this delightful read. "Witch in Disguise" is next on my reading list!
Dead bodies keep dropping. Blair is prevented from meeting with her family. Her cat is actually a fairy cat. And she struggles to find the right time to tell Nathan about her fairy side.
Turns out the killer has plans for her too and she becomes a target. Her magic is wonky and when she realizes who the killer is, its almost too late.
I really enjoyed this story and the way the author handled Nathan and Blair's relationship. Cant wait for more!
Blair is good at having something go wrong but always ends up having it turn good. Blair is a force not to be taken lightly. She has a bright future ahead of her if she can only get a handle on her magic. Can't wait to see what happens next. Will she find love? Will she ever meet her family?
This is an excellent tale! Like the first three, there are so many twists and turns one would need to take notes to keep track. The glamour is off this time at the end and everyone can see what Blair is. There is some confusion between she and Nathan so we'll have to see what happens next. Needs better editing.
This book just begs the reader to keep turning the pages the further into the book one gets! It is impossible to put down. As Blair begins to learn more about her powers & her family, it becomes more difficult to put down! Hoping Blair can meet her birth family in book 4.
A Fairy and a Paranormal Hunter walk into a forest
I'm loving this series! Each book is more exciting than the last. Blair is a mystery even to herself. But she finds some answers while trying to prevent a vampire/werewolf war and finding a killer. Even though is leads to even more questions about Blair's unknown past, she's determined to see this through.
Very good , it puts Blair once again in the middle of several murders and a feud between the vampires and the werewolves. Will she be able to solve the mystery before she is harmed and will she be able to harness her magic which is all over the place. And what about her cat who is friends with Vincent the vampire, whats that all about. To find out you will have to read the book.
I enjoy this town full of paranormal and their mysteries. It’s fun to read about Blair trying to learn spells and always getting into trouble with murders and investigations.
Well written. An easy read I like all of the different paranormals.. I like that she's a mix. Great job on the storyline. I missed a book though, so I'll have to go back and find it.
Murderer, and mystery, magic and romance all leave together weave A cozy Story.
Will Blair ever get her magic under control? Where do the glamour come from and can she control it? In the middle of his who is murdering people, Read on And enjoy the ride!
I absolutely love this series of books. Blair just can't help but get in the middle of a murder mystery even when she's trying to learn how to control her magic. I highly recommend this book!
Love this series and this author! Great paranormal cozy mystery series! It’s an interesting series with relatable characters, characters that build throughout the series, sub plots that build the stories, and a big mystery wrapped up in each book! I recommend reading in order. You’re I’ll not be disappointed with this book or this series!
This suspenseful story will keep the readers turning pages to see what's going to happen next. The characters are fun and clever, and the surprises keep on coming. Well done!
3.5⭐️. Good book. Love how you can never figure out whodunit until it is revealed. The main character is starting to annoy me a bit, she is selfish, pigheaded and a bit annoying. Again the word Nefarious is well overused in this book.
