Peace. It’s what I’ve been striving for my whole life. And now that I’ve obtained it, hidden away in a town so small it doesn't show on the map, my conscious won’t let me forget my betrayal. A betrayal so deep, I knew I’d never forgive myself. Thankfully, my chances of seeing Garrett again were slim to none. Because I made it so he’d never find a woman named Ava Barlow again.
War. It’s been in my head for four years. Every memory. Every touch. Every tone of her voice. It stabs me in the chest over and over again. I’m surprised I’m still breathing. But the good thing about the pain is the revenge that has been evoked. To make her feel every bit of torment I’ve overcome and make her come back to the life she despised. And it would be then that I’d show her I was no longer in love with a woman named Ava Barlow.
Hazel Grace is an avid music lover, an undefined human being, and hardcore Oakland Raiders fan from the mitten state of Michigan. Always surprising her readers with weird Michigan sayings (they have their own cuss words) and writing "what the f*ck" storylines. When she's not writing, she's on Spotify finding new bands, working on her Camaro or watching shows with her kids with annoying songs attached to them.
After getting to the end of Arranged I had no idea what to expect from Aligned, the cliff-hanger that Hazel Grace left us on was a shock. However I think she may just be the queen of cliff-hangers….. I picked up this book wondering what was going to happen between George, Garrett and Avie and honestly, I was blown away with how this story was. I was hooked on it from the beginning until the end, the plot flowed perfectly and I couldn’t put this book down. Hazel’s writing is AMAZING… Seriously, I can’t get enough of it. If you’ve not read this book or the first one you seriously need to go and do that, you won’t be sorry.
Avie managed to slip away from the castle, away from George and Garrett, she needed to do what she thought was best and surprising years later, she is still alive, along with her father. However, things are different now, she is married to one of her friends (Sam) from the Orphanage from when she used to live there years ago when she was in hiding and has a beautiful child (Charlie). Whilst things seem to be working out for her, there is still the fact that no matter what she will always wonder if everything ever worked out for George, Hara and Garrett, but she knows she did what she did to protect them all. She already has a constant reminder daily of Garrett, but she is doing what she can to make sure that her loved ones are protected. Everything seems to be going well for her until there’s whispers going about the small village she lives in that people are looking for her, and then just like that her life is about to change forever….. The last person she expects to walk into her life is Garrett. Surely there’s a reason for why he’s showed up and how on earth did he manage to find her?
OMG! This book was incredible. I absolutely loved the first book and love this one as well.
There were a few times Hazel Grace surprises you with a twist you didn't see coming. I'm not sure about the ending. I think she has something up her sleeve.
Ava has been away from Garret and the royals for four years now. She is married and has a son. Things start going to hell from the beginning of the book and continue that way all the way through it.
Garrett wants nothing more than to make Ava's life hell like she did his when she left. But when he finally finds her, will he be able to keep to his plan?
This book has action, love, hate, shock and so much more going on. Ava is still one of my favorite characters. She is a badass strong female lead and I love it. Garrett is still the tough sob we know from the first book.
This is a story that I had to wait for. But let me tell you it was worth the wait. You find out so much about Ava, Garrett, George and the rest of the gang from the first one. I don’t want to give any spoilers so I will keep this review short. READ IT!! It is so worth the time you will invest in these characters and story line that Hazel has masterly painted for you. You will feel right along with the characters. Can’t wait for the next instalment of this series.
This is the second book to An Array Series. Aligned is a historical romance and takes off with fireworks, love story and non stop action. It has it all. I'm extremely impressed with this author especially since this is her first series. Excellently written. Highly recommend!
Ugh!!!! The cliff hanger at the end of this book is deadly!!!! I was hooked from page 1 and I couldn’t bring myself to put this book down! Amazing read!
First and foremost, Hazel is an exceptional writer. The scenes are fluid, fast, and clear. If you read Arranged then you know it left us on a cliff hanger. This book does too, looks like a third book will hopefully tie up everything for us. But the story about Ava and Garret in this book is perfection. The angst and pain, all of it totally worth the wait. My only big frustration is the lack of help the king offers in this series. He effectively feels totally useless which is an odd feeling for a reader to have about a king but his brother and Ava seem to have more respect and authority but also, how does a king avoid getting married and producing an heir for four years?! That bit made me a little irritated and angry at George because it feels like he could have aided in some of the crap Ava has to go through. That aside, this is a great book and I absolutely can't wait for the next one to come out.
Here we find everyone from book one course years later. With different lives and a whole lot of secrets and twist and turns that will break your heart little and make you want to throw your kindle. Ava has been hiding with her father till one night Garret and the assassins find her and he tries to save her and her family. Garret is not the same he has been trying to find Ava to no avail. marrying only to save his sister. With the same threat threatening them and life for Ava will never be able to have the freedom she wants. When things get even more dangerous will they be able to figure out who is doing it or will it all be to late? Omg this book is so emotional with the back and forth between the characters and the love and hate between Garret and Ava is just the right twist that makes it even better. I can't wait to read the next one. Truly an amazing author she is to pull you in and keep you wanting more and more
