A very well written work on the basics of a supply chain. Moreover, the author gives very thorough instructions on how to create your own e-commerce undertaking, starting from the business plan, cost and benefit analysis, implementation of a project.

I think this book was a great beginners introduction into supply chain management. A lot of the basics of supply chain remind me of computer programing, creating modular flexible systems. A good guideline of how to examine your business as a whole and see which parts need improving.

This book provided a very detailed overview of Supply Chain Management. The 5 pillars of SCM - Production, Inventory, Location, Transportation and Information are extensively discussed in the book along with the interconnection between each of them.

The book also talks about the four main categories - Plan, Source, Make and Deliver and the tradeoffs that we must choose on in each of these. Concepts like EOQ, Bullwhip effect, and the major kinds of markets are all intriguing topics that the author explains pretty well.

I definitely got what I wanted to know about SCM from this book.

First (text) book I read on the topic and it‘s a great introduction to Supply Chain Management. Will likely read it again at some point to connect the dots and concepts from other resources. Highly recommended if you are willing to put in the time. I wish some of the resources mentioned like the supply chain simulator or game would be free to try out and to accompany the core concepts of the book.

Even as some technological references are dated (the first edition is from 2011), it gives a very solid basis for understanding supply chains and their management. I especially enjoyed the case studies and interviews/features with experts in the field.
