Almost six years ago, Harper Harlow’s boyfriend was involved in a car accident and walked away from the scene. Severely injured, law enforcement believed him dead and gave up looking. It seems they were wrong. Quinn Jackson is back … and he’s very much alive. His memory isn’t what it used to be, but he’s quickly putting things together. One of the first people he wants to see when his life comes roaring back is the woman he left behind. Quinn doesn’t know what he wants, but Harper is very much taken. Although his death left her searching for answers and respite, she’s moved on. Her current boyfriend Jared Monroe is suspicious of Quinn’s return even though the man swears he’s only visiting for closure and nothing else. Murder is on the menu, though, and when a grifter ends up dead, Quinn is one of Jared’s first suspects. Harper isn’t happy with her boyfriend’s reaction but she’s willing to work with him. Together, Harper and Jared have to solve the mysteries of the past and survive the present. It’s going to be a long, hard slog and there are no guarantees.
I really enjoyed this instalment, more so than the last few instalments. I felt like there was more story and character development and less pointless, annoying arguingbantering.
I always knew that a storyline regarding the missing, presumed dead ex-boyfriend would be in this series' future so It was no surprise to see it in this instalment and I liked the way it was handled and how all the mystery of the story unfolded. It felt a lot more real than the previous instalments.
I was a little disappointed there wasn't more ghostly action in this book but overall it was a quick entertaining read and I give it 4 stars
Mel and Jared are called out to an accident at the exact same spot from which Quinn Jackson disappeared 5 years ago. Vicky Thomson is taken to hospital with minor injuries despite having flipped her vehicle and it's a shock to all when she dies in the early hours of the morning.
Meanwhile Harper and Zander are carrying out an investigation into a scarecrow that is allegedly coming to life and scaring the landowner Betty. Betty's not one for the dramatics which means that while there's nothing obviously wrong Harper's going to dig further to work out what is happening in the field.
Quinn turns up as they're leaving, throwing Harper for a loop but the story he tells her about having woken up in a New York hospital with amnesia and only recently recovering his memory of life in Whisper Cove sounds more like a Lifetime Movie than reality to Zander.
At the same time Mel and Jared are looking at a murder case as it's discovered that Vicky was killed with cyanide and isn't the person they thought she was.. frankly they have a mess on their hands especially when Mel spots Quinn's face on the hospital security footage when they are checking for suspects.. he's not the only one they have their eyes on but when there's a report from a witness describing him helping Vicky at the crash site before fleeing it raises even more questions..
Now everyone knows Quinn is back but the question is why and what can he possibly want from Harper after all this time? Zander and Jared are both worried about Harper, can they get to the bottom of it all without losing someone they love?
This is an entertaining paranormal cozy mystery series. If I can cast of characters in an entertaining storyline. Harper Harlow and her best friend Xander are in their late 20s and own a ghost hunting business in Michigan. They’ve known each other since kindergarten and I’ve been best friends ever since. Harper‘s boyfriend Jared is a local police department whose partner happens to be Xander‘s uncle. Xander’s boyfriend owns a gym in the town. Sometimes chasing ghosts and helping them cross over it’s just a normal day for Harper and Xander. Other days they find ghosts That are around because of a crime either from the past or current. Then there are time is it it just happens to be a job there on that gets him involved in some weird twist in some mystery going on. This time once again they get involved in a mystery and part of Harpers pass comes back around. Read on and see what this adventure isn’t where it goes and where it ends.
This book answers the question everyone's been asking or thinking about which is what really happened to Quinn? As we already know from the blurb, Quinn is alive. His appearance sparks more questions such as where was he all these years? what happened? why was there so much blood at the scene of his accident? all these questions get answered. The book starts off with an accident at the exact same spot where Quinn's accident occurred. This woman has minor injuries but is taken to hospital for overnight observation. Next morning the woman has died. There is suspicious circumstances involved. Jared is called in to investigate. I loved this book as it revealed so much about Quinn and Harper's relationship and how people close to Harper saw and felt about Quinn. Secrets are revealed which are shocking. Jared feels insecure and unsettled with regard to Harper's feelings for the suddenly alive Quinn. I really enjoyed this book as it dealt with Harper's past.
The mystery of Harper's old boyfriend's disappearance is finally solved.
Quinn Johnson, Harper Harlows old.flame went missing five years ago after a car accident, he never turned up.at any of.The hospitals and his body was never found. Harper struggled.with the loss.as.She felt she should have been able.to.find him, if not his body then at least his ghost and be able.to help him pass on, unfortunately Harper was never able to.find answers to.what happened to.Quinn after the crash. Now amazingly Quinn is back, he claims he wandered away after the accident and ended up in a hospital miles away with amnesia. Zander doesn't believe a word of it and Jared also has trouble believing him but Harper trusts Quinn after all what reason would be have to come back and.lie to them all. Not as much humour as usual and no ghosts in this story but an interesting read nonetheless.
You’ll find a similarity of characters between one of this author’s series and others. This is not necessarily a bad thing; the characters are appealing (which is likely why we see them reinvented over and over). Harper is good-hearted and smart but far less snarky than many female MCs we see today. Naturally, there is the male, gay best friend from childhood, but he is appealing as well. There is plenty of romance in the series, but little steam, which I appreciate. It is also quite unusual, in my experience, for a series to be able to carry on for more than a dozen books without seriously losing steam. I read all fourteen books in a row; some were better than others; there were a couple of fairly similar plots along the line; the characters’ relationships carry the series through.
I love this series and all the characters a lot. I would love for Zander to whine less. I like him a lot more when he shows how deep his love is for Harper, his family and friends , without taking it to a sophomore level all the time. Th fact that he could be serious about his dislike for Quinn showed a side to his character that I would like to see more of. I also love the play that Harper and Zander always have with their ghostly visitors, which was completely missing in this book, unless you count Quinn and his motley crew of thieves. I still wonder why Judý didn't make an appearance while looking for the lost cash.
Can't write much as Can't wait to get the next book in! I do love this series not just the characters love and friendship but watching Harper grow as a person although they're times I want to shake her and tell her to grow up and listen when told! Lily Harper Hart has amazing imagination for story telling and her characters along with fantastic mystery and suspense that takes you into another world and socks you right in start to finish sorry can't stop just realised there's at least ten or so more of these to get through I'm not sure if my husband is working or left me I've been a little bit distracted! Lol
OOOH! This book was so good. I thought it would be hokey with Quinn coming back from the dead, but I was wrong. Quinn came back. Jared is suspicious of him. Zander doesn't trust Quinn, and Harper thinks Quinn is just struggling because he's had amnesia until recently. As it turns out, Quinn is a con artist who faked his death and left Harper with unresolved feelings. The story ended with a bang ... literally. Plus, Jared confided in Zander that he plans on proposing to Harper over the Christmas holiday. I have to go now. Book 11 is calling to me!

Ghostly Despair (A Harper Harlow Mystery book 10 by Lily Harper Hart
This was another winner. I highly recommend all her books and different series. She has a great imagination and storyline and great characters in every book and series. Every series I have read has Been great. Once I start a book I cannot put it down. I have read close to 100 of her books and loved every I of them. Diana Romano.
I absolutely love every series this author writes. She no estoy doesn't ever write a bad book. The characters are well developed, full of life and quirks. Harper and Zander are a great duo and Jared is a great partner for Harper. The mystery was great and the overall mystery of what happened to Quinn is solved!
So the mystery of Quinn is answered, and it was about the way I expected his personality to be. A bit of a unexpected story ending with the why. Zander was entertaining and not as frustrating as he is sometimes written. Would like to see more of Shawn. Definitely looking forward to the next book.
I very much enjoyed this addition to the series. Only one complaint -- this is supposed to be ghostly mysteries, right??? So why only a very small ghostly part in the beginning of the book?? I'm the beginning of this series there were lots of ghostly encounters. Please go back to Harper and Zander hunting ghosts!! Otherwise, I do enjoy this series very much!!
I think this was my favorite of the series. I knew we'd eventually get a resolution to the Quinn Jackson mystery, but I didn't expect how we got it. I fully expected a vengeful ghost, but I liked how it turned out. Now that his ghost, so to speak, is laid to rest, I'm looking forward to the promised development in Harper's and Jared's relationship.

This may be my favorite in the series, although the first book captured my interest. Funny, warm, characters to love & at least one zany mystery to solve in each book. Harper & Jared seem to finally be reaching a level of maturity though Zander never will 😇
Another great add to the series. I love this ghostly gang of friends and they crack me up. This book is one of my favorites because we get more of the past revealed with Quinn, which we heard about in book 1. This is definitely a crazy tale from start to finish. Add in a hilarious best friend and two adorable boyfriends and I can't wait for the next.
Quinn Jackson is back from the dead. Only according to his story he somehow lost his memory after the car accident and ended up wandering all the way to New York. He saw Harper on TV and suddenly remembered her and their life together in Whisper Cove. Zander and Jared can't help but feeling that he's not telling the truth, but Harper is just happy he's alive. Even if she doesn't love him and is happy with Jared. I don't want to spoil it all but Jared and Zander are right about Quinn and it turns out he's a complete ahole that was using Harper in the past, and again now.. the mystery in this one was really good, even though I assumed that Jared was right about Quinn and he was up to something I didn't quess the full picture until it was revealed
I really enjoy this series. This time, Harper is more mature, Zander is less irritating, and even the ghost is more manageable! Not as easy to manage is a ghost (?) from Harper's past. The twists and turns, long-buried secrets, and surprise reveals are nicely spaced in this well-executed murder mystery.
Oh this one was awesome, I was wondering when we would get closure from Quinn and omg what a story it was, great twists and turns with an awesome ending and of course many laughs from Zander along the way.
Really more 10 stars, not 5. I would give Ms. Hart 10's on four of her series, Harper Harlow, Rowan Gray, Ivy Morgan and Maddie Graves. I download books from each as soon as they are available because I love them so much!!!
Another great book I couldn’t put down. The only thing bothering me, is I’m getting to where I don’t like Molly. She’s getting a bit annoying. Lol. Besides that love the book and series.
Jared is the perfect book boyfriend. I love how the relationships all keep developing for these characters. We get all of our questions about Quinn answered and an exciting revelation is made toward the end. Looking forward to the next book.
I have been on an emotional rollercoaster. Harper, Jared, Zander and Shawn always make make me laugh and cry a few tears. Esp the surprise at the end. Such a good read. Now I cannot wait for the next in the series!!!
This isn't the only book series she writes and I read and love them all. In this book I'm so glad to get the story behind Quinn. Who is is, what kind of Person is was and is. What happened to him and now Harper can move on. Great book.
These books are very good. I've enjoyed each one and absolutely love the chemistry between the characters. I look forward to the next book and hope to see some wedding planning!
I hate loose ends. This book wrapped up one of the issues I have thought about in the series for a long time. And I loved the way it came together. This is an awesome series.
We have the answers to some things from Harper's past. I don't want to spoil it so make sure to pick up the book, and the entire series, if you haven't discovered Harper and team! I can't wait for Book 11 and Christmas festivities!!! Great book!
Harper's old boyfriend Quinn, presumed dead after a car crash years ago, returns claiming amnesia. Jared and Zander agree on one thing - they don't trust him.
This one was a bit predictable but enjoyable nonetheless. Although Zander did get on my nerves more in this story than previous ones. Lol... Overall, it was a good paced story and I'm looking forward to the next book.
