Zane Scott Tilghman hopes lightning will strike a second time, and his new Off-Broadway play, GAMBIT, will become a hit... possibly transfer to Broadway. His personal life has been a mess, but things are looking up with a new boyfriend and investors willing to back his play, until personal tragedy and on-stage mayhem strike. Brad Frame isn't confident he'll be able to make sense of an untimely death, let alone salvage Tilghman's career.
The first features private detective Brad Frame. Based in Bryn Mawr, PA, Brad led an aimless life until his mother and sister were kidnapped and murdered. After helping to solve their crime Brad joined forces with Philadelphia police detective Nick Argostino to bring justice to the lives of others.
In his second series, Ryan Caldwell, a veteran of Iraq and Afghanistan, is pursuing a career in journalism.
Ray retired from a diverse career in criminal justice, education, the arts and human services.
He is a member of Mystery Writers of America and active with their Florida Chapter. In addition to mystery writing, Ray has written and performs a one-man play based on the life of Ben Franklin. He is also a life member of the Florida Witers Association.
Flynt brings all the drama and excitement of the NYC theater scene to intrgue and entertain his readers as his master PI Brad James encounters comedy, tragedy and the whole gamut of emotions from A to Z. Get ready for lots of deli sandwiches (theater people eat on the spot, on the go), as Flynt's in-depth knowledge of staging a show is the setting of this fine tale. PI Frame isn't perfect but learns quickly and finds the murderer before another body hits the floor. A rousing read, don't miss out!
As this was centered around the Broadway play world, it didn't interest me as much. Most of the characters are temperamental artist types, so people I cant relate to. Brad's sidekick Sharon was not involved in the plot at all, so I didnt like that either. Also this had a very abrupt ending. Not one of his beat efforts.
I've enjoyed all of the Brad Frame series. This was about a play being produced when one of the cast is murdered. There are several suspects, missteps and finally getting through all the clues to find the killer. I'm looking forward to more books with Brad Frame -love his character!
Zane doesn’t like the direction his play is going, to him it is disaster. The director has completely different ideals. Brad is one of the investors backing the show. Then the play writers grandmother dies. Then one of the cast members dies. This wasn’t a favorite of mine, good.
This would be a good book for people who like mysteries without all the bad language or description of the murder. Almost like the 1920-1930 s mystery writers
