I thought this book was a very simple and easy read, which would be great for anyone suffering from a concussion. I read it to help clients who are dealing with concussions or TBI's and it offered useful information and resources.
A very quick read. For those familiar with Functional medicine and functional neurology, there won't be too many new things to learn here. It's quite basic, not really directed at someone working in medicine, but more for the lay person. To those new to functional neurology, Chiu's approach may be transformative. The most helpful part of the whole book for me is the exercises that he gives. Some have noted this book feels like an advertisement for his clinic. I can see that, where at times it feels like "Let me throw you a bone, but if you want the meat, come and see me for the real good stuff!" That being said, as a fellow healthcare practitioner, I'm thankful for authors like Chiu who get the word out that there is hope for people with concussions! For those interested, Michael Collins, PhD also has some great material out there for post-concussive syndrome.
