The brain is the center of the nervous system. The mind is the set of cognitive faculties that enables consciousness, perception, thinking, judgement and memory. The mind and the brain is connected. The mind cannot function without a proper functioning brain.
Every mind and therefore the brain has been given the dual nature. Thinking rationally either to be selfish for one’s own gain do fraud or ignore other people in society, don’t care about other people. Also to be positive and help others and at the same time be angry and be violent towards others. The thinking mind understands the consequences of doing good and bad but how can the mind differentiate this without a moral base, that what is good and what is bad? But miraculously the human thinking and self-reflecting mind can and does know the difference between what is acceptable in a society and what is not. This brings me to dual nature. The mind has dual nature. Every human with a functioning brain has a thinking and self-reflecting mind in which case has dual nature. This is an obvious fact. Let me explain. A child will lie if the child can get away with punishment but the child knows that he or she lied and that was a negative thing to do regarding one’s development of their character. Similarly an adult in court regarding a speeding penalty will try to lie if he or she can get away with it. What I am trying to say is this, we choose to be good and we choose to be bad depending on what’s in it for us.
