A man who can’t afford to lose control—and a man taking control for the first time…
Tom used to fight his way through life in a haze of rage and self-destruction, until his time in the army taught him the discipline he needed. Since then, he’s kept his passions on a tight leash, afraid of what would happen if his old anger broke through again. But once he finds out that the daughter he's never even had the chance to meet is in danger, he doesn’t know if he can hold back anymore.
Raised in the brutal world of the Syndicate, gentle Callum has been told his whole life that he doesn’t have what it takes. After failing yet another job for his father, he’s given one last chance to prove himself—but when he discovers that it involves a kidnapped child, he risks his life to defy his family and save her.
On the run together, united by their determination to keep Tom’s daughter safe, they soon learn that it will take all Tom’s military training and all Callum’s inside knowledge to stay one step ahead of the Syndicate. But as the attraction between them grows, they discover that the greatest threats come from within. In admitting his feelings for Tom, Callum is forced to confront a side of himself he’s kept locked away all his life. And Tom must learn how to let himself feel again without giving in to his old demons—before the rage inside him puts them all at risk.
Release Me is a is a full-length gay romance novel with no cliffhangers, no cheating, and a happy ending. Although this book contains characters from the first book in the series, it can be read as a stand-alone story. Note: This book contains kidnapping and references to physical abuse by a parent.
I had a lot of trouble staying interested in this book. I didn't like the navel-gazing that both Tom and Callum seemed to engage in excessively. I didn't particularly find the fact that nearly every good choice anyone made in this book was very promptly overturned by the bad guys pretty much by accident EVERY TIME. I did like the relationship between Tom and Callum, but got so bored of their internal monologuing that I found myself skimming large portions of the story.
Then there was the whole coffee/tea thing between Tom and Callum! What was the deal with Callum raving about needing his coffee each morning, and yet somehow he hates coffee and Tom somehow understands it to mean that Callum is a fellow tea drinker? It really just confused me and that whole situation continued throughout the book.

3.5 stars
Although I did like Callum and Tom, some of the plot to me felt strange. I felt like these guys had brilliant moments but then did stuff that came across as incredibly stupid. The connection between Callum and Tom, and seeing them both find their way into the relationship I thought was well done. Both characters sort of evolve through the story (though the constant introspective thoughts did get to be a bit much). I especially liked seeing Callum find himself in the story.
Love isn't always easy, but factors make is especially difficult for Tom and Callum. There is a very serious subject here, but there are also some wonderful light moments with a lot of heart. Tom and Callum haven't been positioned for success, but both men are pretty great and deserve love with one another. The plot gives us a lot of heart-pounding moments, but also sweet ones as well. Fantastic romance that hits just the right notes, I highly recommend it. This is part of a series, but I was able to read as a standalone, but I'm intrigued in seeing what other books this author has. This is a voluntary review of an advance reader copy.
Callum was never exactly what his father wanted when it came to having a son. Tom joined the military to put a leash on his rage and now is slowly unwinding at the news of his daughter's kidnapping. Both need to work together to safe Tom's daughter. Will Callum finally find that there isn't anything wrong with him? Will Tom be able finally let go of his tight control?
Loved how there was more to both characters than it seemed. I loved the fact that Callum was willing to do whatever it took to keep those he loved safe, even if it meant sacrificing himself. Loved how despite Tom's past, once he accepted that he could be loved, he went all in. Great read!

This is such an intense story. Two guys with major issues thrown together by one situation. The heartbreaking personality hang-ups these two have seem impossible to overcome. The story moved right along and I had a hard time setting it down. I really had a hard time trying to see where the author could go to resolve things and was happy she did such a good job. The main characters are both likable. I am left wanting to read more about them. I’m hoping they will be in anymore of this series.
Release Me is the second book in the Rescue Me series and it can be read as a stand alone. I would recommend reading the first book (Save Me) just for more background info. Tom and Callum are pushed together to save Tom's daughter from Callum's father. This is an intense, action packed emotional read. Both MCs have issues that they need to work through and at times seem overwhelming. The author did a great job pulling everything together at the end and I had a hard time putting down. I just loved Tom and Callum. I received a copy for an honest review.
THERE’S ALWAYS THE RIGHT PERSON WITH THE RIGHT LOVE
Another new genre of book for me. I’m beginning to love the M/M romances. They contain a slightly different flare and have to be confident in themselves. It is an uphill battle for Tom and Callum and they slowly go through their problems. I love the suspense and the bolstering of each other’s self-recriminations. Couldn’t put the book down until I was finished.
This was a good story about two damaged men trying to do their best. I liked both characters and was happy to see them finally get the happiness they deserve. I wish they had made some different decisions on the way but that's life and at least I could understand why they made the choices they made. I like the daughters reaction to them as a couple too it made me laugh.
The story of Tom and Callum is both intense and emotional. They both had baggage they had to deal with, but throw in Tom's daughter and Callum's past, it's a rollercoaster of a read that will keep you hanging on until the last page!
This is the first book I've read by this author, but it won't be my last. Aria Greyson has written a beautiful and intriguing gay romance, with thrilling moments, suspense and enjoyable characters you'll fall in love with instantly.
