It Must Be Finished: Making Sense of the Return of Jesus

Rate this book
For many believers, the return of Jesus is a subject that seems confusing. When they hear someone speak about the end times, they can feel as if they’ve shown up for the last ten minutes of a movie without getting to see the first hour and a half. The end of a story always contains surprises, but it’s the logical conclusion to the story. The key to understanding the end times is found in connecting the main themes of the end times to the overall redemptive story. Grasping these key points helps you make sense of the main themes of the biblical story and their logical conclusion.

Biblically speaking, the cross did not fulfill all the promises of God—it secured them. Tragically, we have neglected much of what the Bible says about the fulfillment of God’s promises. However, the full magnitude of what the cross accomplished is revealed in both what was accomplished when Jesus died and what will be fulfilled in the events we refer to as the “end times.” God has staked His honor on His ability to fulfill specific promises, and the plan of redemption is not completed until these promises are fulfilled. The atonement was accomplished at the cross, but there is more to the story. It Must be Finished.

Rooted in Scripture rather than speculation (or conspiracy theories), this is a profoundly helpful book for the Church to prepare for the hopeful and sobering realities that would accompany Jesus’ second coming.

I appreciate Samuel Whitefield for the gift he is to the Body of Christ in our generation.

This book does a great job with pointing out facts and backing up those facts with scripture. If your wondering about the end this may be a good book to start. 👍

I can't stop recommending Samuel Whitefield's book because I truly believe God has given him a mandate to help the Gentile church to understand the prophetic significance of Israel in the end times. This book gives a clear and proper understanding of eschatology from the Scriptures which often times can be a challenging topic to grasp. You will be challenged from this book to be a part of God's purposes in the last days.

This book really does help make sense of the return of Jesus. Samuel writes very clearly and uses lots of Scripture. All the details of the 2nd coming make sense when placed into the context that the redemptive story builds. I was blessed by reading this book.
