Arianna might have won the Summit and taken the crown of wolf shifters, but there is no time for her to settle into the royal life.
Something is off with the mecca and if she doesn’t fix it the fae might just make another earth side appearance.
Now she must work with the king of the bears to save both of their people. Which is easier said than done when he tempts her in every way and a relationship between them is forbidden. One slip up could cost her everything and in the NYC mecca someone is always watching.

⋰⋱⋰⋱⋰⋱*I think it's no longer for me*⋰⋱⋰⋱⋰⋱
This review is purely for me and does contain spoilers and lots of facts from the book to keep myself in the know at all time. It's also long and really detailed.

Re-read: 07.05.2018
We're back with Queen Arianna ‘Ari’ and King Kade. Though it still alright, I don't think it's for me anymore. I don't know why, but somehow this series has lost its spark. The first time I read it, I adored it, now...not so much. So much is bothering me like for example sex. It sucks that we didn't get the sex described. I need sex in my books. There should've been a sex scene damn it! Also, the connection between Kade and Arianna feel too fast, hurried, and I can't help but feel like I'm on the outside looking at them. I don't feel like we felt nor saw Arianna fell in love with Kade, she just suddenly was. That didn't work for me. Though apparently it did the first time around. Also, it's pretty predictable and I still wish Kade was more dominant, more alpha male.
New Rating: 2.5/3 stars
I like the new covers though:

I sighed and leaned my head against his chest. “Would you stop being so perfect.”
He chuckled, rumbling deep in my ear. “It comes so naturally to me though.”

Other characters:
I've put these in a spoilers tag simply because it's a long as list.
That was also the day I wished to never be queen. I’d been happy being a queen heir with all of the benefits that came with it. Of course, fate had a different idea in store for me, and now I was ruler of the three boroughs in New York City, controlling the mecca, our energy and magic source.

First read review:
Ahhh, King Kade is so hot! I adore him. Though I do have a tiny, tiny wish that he would be a bit more dominant, commanding and more alpha male. Now he and Arianna are both more equal, but I want a bit extra from his side. As you all know me - I love a powerful male. As far as the story goes, Jaymin Eve and Leia Stone keeps the book quite interesting, with lots of action, heartbreak, twists and secrets. Definitely a recommended series. Though I feel a bit cheated on with the . So please to give us that in next book, eh? Pretty please? Oh, and how many books will there be in this series?
“Anyone who touches what is mine, dies. Simple. Effective. You are mine, Arianna of the red line. You have been since I was a teenage bear rebelling against my royal life.”

Quick basic facts:
Genre: - (YA? NA?) Paranormal Romance
Series: - Series, Book Two
Love triangle? -
Cheating? -
HEA? -
Favorite character? - King Kade
Would I read more by this author/or of series? - Yes.
Would I recommend this book/series? - Yes.
Will I read this again in the future? - Probably.
Rating - 4 stars.

A delicious read with lots of political intrigue, forbidden romance, and a great dose of females kicking butts.

This second installment of the NYC Mecca series was such an entertaining read. I love Arianna as a queen. She has to make many difficult decisions but she always thinks of her people first. I love her friendship with Violet because it's not toxic at all and they help each other be better people and I really appreciate that in a book. We were introduced to new characters in this book and all of them where interesting.

Did I forget to mention that there is a sexy bear shifter as our love interest! Well let me just tell you that if you read the first book and liked him then read this one because you'll love him!The romance is forbidden and passionate. And made me get a bad case of the feels!!

I am so excited for the next book because that cliffhanger was bad! I need the next book!!

SOO....

I read for King Kade/H and I mean I was *sorta* impressed with the story till a certain point..

Afterwards, it started following the same trend as the previous book, of things being resolved stupidly easily

The h was already...mediocre and unimpressive and towards the last 20% of the book she just turned into fucking annoying!

The chemistry was nonexistent..in the end because my angsty-inner-whore-needs-more

The plot just turned stupid because characters don't do anything but make allegation. There are just too many plot holes! Sigh..

The villains/antagonists are the only noteworthy thing within this trilogy and the concept is actually stolen from Karen Marie Moning's "HIGHLANDER" and "FEVER" series

Even the stolen/borrowed/inspired concept was not fully explored.. such disappointment

SO why will I read the last book you ask? Because I HAVE to know the stupid bitter end..

I forgot to write my review and now i don't know what to say about it

Well, it was better than the first book, more drama, Ari a little less of a Mary Sue.
We know a lot more about the story but it's still pretty foggy. There are like too many pieces of too many different puzzles and I have a hard time seing how everything can come together in the end.
But I've got high hope and i'm pretty sure book 3 is going to be even better !

It took me a while to get into this book, but that was just due to my epic book slump and not the book itself. We are back in the NYC and now Ari is Queen. What does this mean now? It means she controls the Mecca stones, and the Mecca energy. She is in control of a lot of things as well.

What annoys me about this series is that the author may wrap up a subplot but start a new subplot within this book, but doesn’t actually start until the next. I hate cliff hangers, and this author seems to love them.

I love Kade, the best King. He is so sweet, and kind and nothing like I expected. With the Fae coming out and the council not listening well, I think things are going to come to a head in the next book.

Not a lot was explained though either. We still don’t know who killed the Red Queen, we still don’t know what is really going on with the Fae, and we still don’t have any answers to where this is going to go. I will be interested in seeing if this story ties up the way I need it to.

I just can't even right now. Seriously hardcore juicy cliffhanger at the end. I use the kindle app on my phone and as I swiped right I went no, that can't be it. BUT IT WAS!! So frustrating because it was so amazing!! I can't wait till I can read all of the series in one sitting so no stopping. These characters are just so different from characters these authors have written before, and the mythos surrounding them is so fascinating!! The mystery drives the story and I love how you find out about things when the characters do. I feel like a detective looking for clues along side the main characters too! I can't believe some of the events in this book and can say I had some harsh vengeance on my mind!! I can't wait for the follow up and hope it's bloody. I had sad moments too where it's like noooooooooo but I don't want to give spoilers. I also love how things become intertwined and how it comes to pass. It feels to me like the most natural way of progression and a way for it to be ok. Here are some verbal blurbs while reading. "Oh snap she did not" "I'm gonna kill her" "Nooooooo!!!" "Ohhhh yeaaaah" "you tell him!!" "You are so smart!!" "Awwww let her have him" "make it right" "that dudes creepy" lol so many more I can give but just read the books for yourself. Delicious brain candy and I need more. Like yesterday. Must read series by must read authors.

It's a second book in a gripping shifter series and I didn't think it's possible but it's even better than the first one! In the realms of shifters, humans and fae, the magic mecca is imbalanced and it's threatening to destroy the world's as they know it. Ari as a queen of wolf shifters got loads on her hands at the moment and enemies who are watching her every move waiting for mistakes... Torn between loyalty to her people and this weird feeling to certain shifter, discovering unbelievable mysteries about her origin and trying to contain mecca it can be to much even for as strong shifter as her.
This book is packed with great characters, witty humor and action! It takes you in and won't let go until you're done with it and even then you want more! I truly recommend it to everyone!

Magical mystery, political intrigue, and star-crossed romance. From the snakes hiding in the shadows and a soggy, old council to contend with, Arianna's plate is full. The new Queen is busy learning lost history and dealing with the everyday lives of her wolves but that doesn't stop her from seeking a way to defeat her enemies, while dealing with the turmoil of duty over love.

I love how strong and independent Ari is, while still being kind and caring for her people. She is a true leader and keeps us on the edge of our seats from the very first chapter to the last. Jaymin and Leia have written a beautiful story and I can't wait for the next.

Arianna is now Queen of the wolf shifters. But before she can relax into royal life, she must discover why the mecca is acting strangely. With the help of her friends, and hopefully Kade and his bears, Arianna plans to deal with the fae.

Though she is Queen, Arianna must obey the Council, full of conservative shifters with bigoted ideas and ancient secrets. It would be simpler if they would just be open with their intel! Even Arianna’s unrefutable logic that forming an alliance with the bear shifters would give them a united front against the fae, their only real chance to survive the war and maybe even defeat the fae. The Council hates this idea but admits that they need Kade’s help to train Arianna to use her newfound Queen powers.

After earning the Monarchy, the Queen is enhanced with vast mecca power. Arianna is particularly gifted with more mecca than any Queen before. On the other hand, Kade can channel mecca power. It’s poetic that the two have opposing powers that complement each other, making the fact that they should be together even more apparent. The abilities the Monarchs is intriguing, it almost makes them one of the magic-born (shifters able to use magic like witches).

Kade and Arianna must spend a significant amount of time together with the training and attempts can at strategising to defeat the fae. Every moment they’re together Arianna must fight the bone-deep pull she feels for Kade. And it seems he’s doing the same. Though it is romantic, this series handles the forbidden love and attraction much better than other. Others have the characters continually thinking ‘Oh how sexy is blah, I can’t think with blah here, why can’t we just run off together?’. Both Kade and Arianna are rulers and love their people. They would never run off and abandon their responsibilities and friends just so they could be together. It’s a very mature reaction, something you hardly see in many YA romances. The authors show the pairs bond, but it doesn’t focus only on the sexual attraction. They need each other like missing parts of one’s soul, a fantastic display of soul-mates.

As always, the other characters and their development was satisfying and entertaining. I loved Violet and Calista, though the familiars Finn and Nix are still my favourites. Who wouldn’t want a giant wolf or eagle that can talk to you! I haven’t found a series I’m so hooked on in a while, and I have already started the next book. I give it 5/5.

*I have both the book and the audiobook from Audible, the performance the actress provides is terrific and really brings another level to the story.

Queen Alpha is the second novel in the NYC Mecca series. Starting not long after the end of the first book Ari may be Queen after winning the Summit but it doesn't mean that she's safe. She still needs to find out what happened to the Red Queen as well as stop the fae who are determined to end her life. However, that's not all she has on her plate she needs to figure out how to send the Mecca back into the fae world and restore the balance of their two worlds.

At least she doesn't have to do it alone with Kade the king of the bear shifters she's formed an alliance with. The more time Ari spends with Kade the harder it is for her to deny the attraction she's feeling for him but it's unheard of for wolf shifters and bear shifters to be together. Forced to squish rumors that are floating around about them she decided to take a wolf mate but Kade isn't so willing to let her go. As the pair attempt to save the world that they know they learn that may not know the truth about their past. Will the truth change it all? Will they save their world?

I like Ari she's a strong independent young Queen who is willing to do anything to protect and save her people even if it means risking herself in the process. I love Kade for her way more than I should but while they may be different their love story started long ago and they are just perfect for each other. They provide just the right amount of balance for each other and their gift work together. I have high hopes that they will get a happy ever after but you never really know.

I loved the first one Queen Heir so much and couldn't wait to get my hands on Queen Alpha but decided to wait till the third one was out. I'm a huge fan of strong female alpha werewolves because they are typically the men who are the leaders. I love the concept for the shifters, and the magic born shifter it's an interesting spin on the shifter concept. The authors have written a beautiful story that captures the heart as well as the imagination, an action packed a supernaturally charged story that keeps the reader on the edge of their seat. This isn't my first book by these authors but I'm becoming a quick fan they both have a unique voice and work so well together. I enjoyed every page of Queen Alpha and couldn't wait to see what happens next, I've already got the third book on my kindle and look forward to seeing how it will play out. Highly recommend to those who are fans of young adult shifter fantasy. I loved Queen Alpha so much!!!!

In this second book in the series, Ari and Kade are still trying to figure out what is wrong with the mecca and how to fix it. As Ari investigates, she discovers more and more information that either hasn't been shared with the wolf community or is just blatantly lies, including the origins of the shifters and how they were meant to work together all along. While this should be great news, the prejudice against the bears runs deep for the wolves. Ari doesn't think it is something that she can overcome. Despite her true feelings for Kade, she decides to take a wolf mate - hurting both herself and Kade in the process. They should be focusing on the problem with the mecca and the fae anyway.

Well, there's a lot of action in this one, and some new likable characters. I didn't expect all of the problems to be fixed, but at least a few of them are on their way to resolution, so it was satisfying enough. All in all, I think this is a decent fantasy YA series.

Read other books from this author in the future: yes

In the second part, Ari is queen. And she has also discovered that fairies are involved in the death of the queen. So the bear-shifter King Kade offers to teach her how to deal with the Mecca, a magic power.
Ari and Kade get closer.
At the summer festival they are filmed kissing. The price for the intrigue is the death of many Shifters, because Kade and Ari don't feel the threat of opening a portal from Overland, because the magic is hidden. Aris best friend Vi is also captured by the fairies.
Ari is taken the throne and she is banished.
Also the second part was very worth reading.

Deutsche Rezension:

Another good read. It seems I have a lot of them these days.
I am glad I continued with this series because it gets better. I liked Ari much more in this second book and don't let me start with Kade because I might write him a hymn. He is that awesome. I want one.
I would love to have an online store for fictional characters, I think ladies across the world would be so happy.
I will definitely continue with this series, it is very interesting both plot wise and romance wise.

An improvement on the first book but there are still way to many questions not being asked. These kingdoms are way to lax in the way they are run and how can a Queen be de throned so easily. The author needs to put more thought into the story to make it more believable. I know its fantasy but this is fantasy for teenagers and its not listed as YA.

i dont love this series. i think the shifter aspect is dumb.. the magics and fae are more interesting and the shifters NEVER SHIFT. ever.

but i dont hate it either. there are certain plot aspects that are interesting...but i find myself skimming trying to get the conclusions.

why am i starting book 3? who knows. its free on ku, and theres no way i would pay for it...so maybe thats half the reason.

This series is so good, I just want to scream from the rooftops for everyone to read this. The plot is exciting and unique, the characters are all super likable, the magic is fun, the mystery keeps you on the edge of your seat, and the political intrigue is great.

My absolute favorite part of this series so far is the way the authors handled the relationship between Ari and someone else (I’m trying not be spoilery). So many authors think that the will they, won’t they, is fun to read about for the entire series. It’s not (at least not to me, I hate it). These characters went through that for a reasonable amount of time and for reasonable reasons, and then we finally got what we wanted and had been waiting for without having to wait until the last book. Thank you authors for giving me everything I ever wanted with more books to go where we can actually see their relationship grow.

Anyway, I digress. I love this series. You should read it.

An easy read as this series is fun and a great way to spend my holiday while driving all over New Zealand. The message that "if we all work together as a team we can accomplish anything" comes through loud and clear. Certainly a different take on Shifters and their relationships and that everyone has secrets, some are more dangerous than others. Enjoyable and looking forward to the next one.

Queen Alpha by Jaymin Eve and Leia Stone a supreme five star read. This is the second book in the NYC Mecca series and Its amazing, the first book Queen Heir was fabulous, and this book was so much better, I have such high hopes for book three I may burst while waiting. These two authors truly write as one, when you get two authors co-writing you usually can tell who wrote what chapter as there is always a tell with the style of writing, but these two are seamless.
Arianna has taken over from the Red Queen after her sudden passing and has been lovingly named as the Queen Alpha by the wolves she rules over. Arianna hasn’t had an easy path and she should know life never goes smoothly. Sadly, Arianna doesn’t have time to settle into her role as Queen as there is a problem with the Mecca, and even though a certain Bear is helping her get control over it, it keeps getting worse.
Arianna must do the impossible and somehow work with bears, and that includes a certain King Kade. Their working together leads to problems as Bears and Wolves have always been enemies, and have always stuck to their own kind, but can a common enemy make them fight together as one? Or will their people be too upset at the prospect of “Karianna” that they would revolt causing them both to lose everything? Will a kiss from 5 years ago be enough to give their love a chance? Or will another wolf catch Arianna’s eye, someone who has been under her eye all along? life could be simple if she chose a mate from her own kind? But is life every really simple?

At no point is the reading dull or boring. You're going to constantly be wondering what is next and when ypu come to the end of the book you'll crave more and more!!

WOW I'm glad I FINALLY found the time to read this AMAZING book. Eve and Stone are a marvelous team and it shows in the works they create together.

When last we left Arianna, she was dealing with the fallout of the attack on her team and the bears on King Kade's property and desperately trying to figure out a way to keep the fae out of earth. She is wholly focused on these situations going into "Queen Alpha," and the tasks keep piling up. On top of that, Ari struggles to put her people above her own desires and keep her feelings for a fierce bear shifter buried deep inside of her. But the battle may just be too large for her to overcome.

I am seriously IN LOVE with this book and series. These are two amazing gals who know how to balance each other really well when mixing their individual writing styles. I look forward to seeing other works from them in the future, and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this book to those of y'all who enjoy the paranormal and a bit of forbidden love.

I don't often find that the second and beyond in a series of books is better than the first but this one absolutely beats out the first in the series and I gave 5 stars to Queen Heir as an outstanding read. Queen Alpha really delivered as the next in the series. The characters all rounded out and I found myself having extreme reactions to each of them. Love Arianna and Kade - both such compassionate yet strong leaders. Hate Selena - what a bitch. Feel sorry for Calista - stand up for yourself girl! I want to have a familiar if they are as awesome as Finn. Am fascinated by the concept of the mecca - what an incredible hub of power. I found myself cheering at parts and screaming during others. The twists are so worth it. Well, I won't post any more for spoilers but suffice it to say that Jaymin Eve and Leia Stone have truly outdone themselves. You will not be disappointed if you read this series except for the fact that the next in the series cannot come soon enough.
