A man searching for his lost son amidst the last days of the Comanche wars!

3 BOOKS. 175+ FIVE-STAR REVIEWS. COMANCHE SUNSET collects the first three books of the THE LAW WRANGLERS as an opening trilogy to the popular Western series.

DEAL WITH THE DEVIL - The Law Wranglers Book 1
After several long years of trying to put the past behind him, Josh Rivers finds himself intertwined in a case that has him leaving the comforts of his life in Santa Fe for the desolation of the Staked Plains. In his quest to find a young woman abducted by the Comanche, Josh must confront the horrors of his past, as well as pull off the diplomatic high-wire act of negotiating with the Comanche and their great war chief, Quanah Parker.

MOUTH OF HELL - The Law Wranglers Book 2
As tensions continue to escalate between the U. S. Army and the Comanche, members of the Rivers family find themselves involved on multiple fronts of the “Red River War.” Josh Rivers discovers his efforts to covertly negotiate on behalf of his newest client have been exposed, and now he finds himself looking over his shoulder, even in the relative safety of Santa Fe. Meanwhile, his journalist sister, Tabitha, is embedded with Colonel Ranald “Bad Hand” Mackenzie’s forces on the eve of battle. What begins as a ploy to sell more newspapers, quickly spirals into a series of life-changing events as the opposing sides converge in the Texas Panhandle.

THE LAST HUNT - The Law Wranglers Book 3
Set amidst the last days of the Comanche wars, The Last Hunt continues the story of the Rivers family, whose fates are intertwined with the Comanche—and their great war chief, Quanah Parker—both personally and professionally. The decisions Quanah makes as the conflict nears its end will have a far-reaching effect beyond his Comanche nation, and the long-brewing showdown for Josh to reclaim his kidnapped son reaches its conclusion.

From the Author
The Law Wranglers novels comprise the author's best-selling series. Some series books are independent novels that can be easily read out of order. Others may be confusing without the back story from the previous novel. This series is a bit of a mix.

The first three books of the Law Wranglers series (Deal with the Devil, Mouth of Hell, and The Last Hunt) constitute a trilogy, and the author recommends sequential reading. For that reason, the publisher also packaged the books as a boxed set under the Comanche Sunset umbrella.

New readers should have no difficulty reading subsequent books as stand-alone novels, and, of course, it is hoped enjoyment of the experience will coax the reader to experience the entire series, which the writer plans to continue indefinitely.

The Law Wranglers (in order of publication):
Deal with the Devil (2016)
Mouth of Hell (2016)
The Last Hunt (2017)
Summer's Child (2017)
Peyote Spirits: A Novella (2018)
Comanche Sunset: Books 1 - 3 (2018)

Outstanding story telling! Glad to read a book with a happy ending now and then even if it is fiction with some historical facts to learn

These three stories are very heartwarming episodes of our true old American folklore adventures, and they fill in a lot of blank episodes of Indian affairs on the western front. I have read the first two books previously, but they were even better the second time around! Exceptional stories by an even more impressive author.

Definitely five stars worthy, and more, if they were made available. These books are certainly very heartwarming episodes with plenty of exciting gunplay and enough romance to satisfy your hunger for true love.
I was definitely impressed with the handling of the Comanche and their relocation exploits, which was expertly crafted by Mr. Schwab. The storylines were perfectly, and selectively, entwined to satisfy your utmost desired results. Too, the author apparently did an endearing research job with his character selection throughout the entire set of stories, and their exploits were very descriptive in each and every episode! I found their exploits to be descriptive and entertaining. Too, most of the stories were family-friendly, although some may consider them gruesome in part. Certainly have no problem recommending this series to you lovers of exceptionally well descriptive escapades of old western adventures, as I can assure you there is enough excitement to maintain your interest from beginning to end. Failure to read the stories will definitely be your loss!

Thoroughly enjoyed these stories. I spend several months out West during the year and have been to Palo Duro Canyon so I could easily picture the places spoken about in the stories. The characters were well developed. Ron Schwab caught my interest immediately and held it until the end of the third book. There were just a couple of little things I felt were weak. One was Tabby's lack of recognizing what She Who Speaks had in mind before she left with Michael. Tabby is too smart to miss the suspicious "early to bed" situation along with the strained relationship that went on for a bit. Also, the wrap up seemed to happen a bit too quickly for me. The end of the story could have gone on for at least a few more chapters. I guess the author got tired of the story line and wanted to wrap it up quickly. I did enjoy the way it ended. Perhaps I just would have liked to spend more time with the characters. The fact that there were historical characters included in the book and the author took the time to keep them real is another plus when it comes to this series of books. Ron managed to make the plight of the Native Americans a cause that drew out sympathy without whitewashing their behavior. There were atrocities committed on both sides. All in all, I believe it's a 5 star series.

As a young boarding Schoolboy in India, I used to read many Westerns. They always ended in the 'good guy' cleaning up the town, showing a romantic interest in the widow of some town individual, (usually the Sherrif or the Marshall who was killed by the vermin menacing the town.) Once the good deed is accomplished he mounts his Stallion, tips his Stetson to his romantic interest & then the 'fool' rides out into the Sunset leaving a very distraught lady behind.
Josh, is of a different breed, but to find out more you need to read all the 3 volumes as these form the exciting narrative since I believe that the Author does more justice in recounting his story than I ever could in a lifetime.
Comanche Sunset is an extremely well-written book, in my opinion also well researched & gave a true feel of the days of the setting. I loved all the 3 volumes that had me spellbound throughout. Thank you Mr. Schwab for a truly enthralling piece of work. Would love to read more from your collection.

This is a fantastic offering for a story about where I live.

Ron Schwab did a fine job. I live forty six miles North of Palo Duro Canyon and have been all over it. Known by us as the other "Grand Canyon". I have lived with Indian stories all my life. My home town was once home to Kiowa Indians. There is a hill that could be seen from my house called Kiowa Peak better known by us who lived there as Wild Horse Knob. I heard that wild horses ran in the Double Mountain Fork of the Brazos River, they wouldn't have had any competition with water, I never saw much water in that River. Fun country, to grow up in.

Comanche Sunset

A most riveting novel and an insite to the life and tribulation of the Plains Indians. I thoroughly enjoyed every word and page and dreaded the eventual ending to this work. I do not see how Ron Schwab could possibly top this story but I will surely endeavor to find out. All the characters in this story were so believable and interesting and melded so effortlessly into the story line. All who love to read with enjoy this great work. You do not have to be a western can to enjoy this remarkable story. So, "Giddy Up."

Great stories of another time.

The story brought back many childhood memories of my time spent at the Fort Sill Indian school. Playing with the Indian boys and my half Indian friend that lived there. Circa 1946/48 Those were the color blind yesterday's that won't likely be happening again.

If u love western/native american books you'll like this saga. About a family who was raided by Commanche, father and son's wives were raped and mutilated. The son's son (Michael) was kidnapped and raised as one of them. Josh's trip was long in trying to find his son who had been missing for 5 years.

I enjoyed these three books. A little too much character background repeats in books two and three. I had to say because, though necessary the repeats slow the story down.
The characters came alive for me and the story is believable.
I started to look for more books by Schwab after I finished Book #3.

Western is not my usual genre but I loved all 3 books. The characters were believable and made me really want to know what happens to them. The historical aspects of the books seems to have been very well researched and added depth to the story that is lacking in many western books I’ve read. I’m definitely a new fan of Ron Schwab’s writing.

Easy reading relaxing

These book were easy to read and relaxing Historically most American do not know of the last American Indian Nations end The history of West Texas is relatively recent and the nature of the end of a way of life is little known
This book is not history but used history as a backdrop

Excellent

I read this book, as well as the first two in the series. All three were excellent. Fiction, yes, but enough real history that I really enjoyed. If you like the west, Indian lore and just good story telling, you will love these books. I am on to the next in the series, Summers Cile. Thank you sir for hours of reading enjoyment.

Absolutely fantastic work. At times very sad but other times heart lifting. This novel points out the good and bad of both native and white peoples. This trilogy should be a movie, but Hollywood would probably mess it up and ruin the story. Highly recommended!

Damn fine writting

Gives a sense that some but not all native Americans were savages at times but also lived by their own customs not necessarily in accord with the setters way of life

This is a good western.

This is a good series. I will read the rest of the series and some of this authors other books. There seems to be some modernization in the story. Lesbian Comanche woman?

Action filled wild West historical adventure with just the right touch of love.

This sequential series of books was very enjoyable reading. Plenty of action and placed in a true historical setting. Even a little love with just a touch of sexy scenes. Nice writing.

I don't normally read western novels, but this collection caught my interest. It's a well written tale of the red river war. Both sides are sympathetically portrayed, kept my interest till the end

An example of fact and fiction writing combined. A lot of research went into this story. The characters are beautifully written and believable. A page turner. You can't really say there is romance in this book because it is only the last few pages. A western and soldiers and Indians.

I enjoyed the series so much I have already purchased at least two more. Very interesting and I do like the story line, a good western with some law-dog stuff in the mix. Good read. Anyone interested in good westerns, should give it a try!

Wonderful stories

Love the principle characters...their personalities, relationships, quirks and banter. The parts of the story that were sad or potentially gruesome were told but not celebrated. Would love to see some continuation, however regarding Tabby and White Wolf.
