When the family of one of the richest men in the world is murdered, evidence points to Jack Reacher as the killer. The billionaire puts a $10 million bounty on Reacher's head.
Soon, three assassins are on Reacher's trail and one of them targets private investigator Lauren Pauling, a former FBI agent with ties to Reacher.
Pauling teams with former special forces operative Michael Tallon not only to survive, but to clear Reacher's name.
The sixth installment of the Jack Reacher Cases is a pulse-pounding, nonstop thrill ride that will leave you breathless until the final, shocking twist.

Sadly I read this out of order. You should never read out of order. I find my self in a fix because now I have missed books 5,7,8, and 9 and have read all the others including 10 and 11. Now I now stuff that will happen when I start reading the missing ones. I will still read them though since I really like this series and it's connection to the Reacher universe. I love everything Reacher.
Lee Child's Jack Reacher stories are homages in Dan Ames' Jack Reacher Cases, where, although (as with Diane Capri's The Hunt for Reacher thrillers), we never actually see Reacher in either series, Lee Child has endorsed the use of his famous vigilante ex-MP in the US army creation, which Dan Ames skilfully uses here to continuing great effect, with Book 6, A Man Out For Blood.
Special agent Lauren Pauling and FBI Special Forces Agent Michael Tallon join forces in the hunt for the elusive Reacher, through the 157 page novel.
Three assassins are hired to carry out a hit on Reacher. Rather than killing Reacher, Pauling and Tallon's mission is to clear the elusive, eternal wanderer and halt the deadly cat-and-mouse chase. Why is Pauling targeted by one killer? Will she be a victim in Reacher's stead?
With its many twists and turns and an unexpected ending, this novel is sure to satisfy Reacher fans everywhere. More please, Mr Ames!
A MAN OUT FIR BLOOD by Dan Ames Clayton had escape once again, now Pauling is doing a marathon on a treadmill to keep in shape. Bureau wouldn’t let her do it pro bono, tracking done Reacher to help, that was a no also. A family killed, the nightmares haunt him. Revenge, a powerful motive he puts a bounty price thinking Reacher is the guilty one. Which brings 3 assissins out for the prize. The plot is a fast thriller ride to the end, the characters are great. With Pauling and Tallon working together. The results are fastinating in another winner of this series for the author. Given ARC for my voluntary review and my honest opinion.
Great read as I have come to expect from Dan Ames in the Jack Reacher Cases series. Pauling and Tallon team up again as they are dragged into the world of Reacher. Action at the start with an unbelievable murder to kick things off and then the two are dragged into an international conspiracy and they chase clues, suspects and a story around the US and the world to make sense of things. Twists, turns and unexpected plots throughout will keep you reading! Love that one can power through the book in one to two sittings and enjoy a few hours in a different world through the exploits of these two unlikely teammates.
The story starts out with the murder of most of the family of a rich Italian. The only piece of evidence that is found on the scene is a fingerprint of Jack Reacher. The rich Italian puts out a contract on Jack Reacher to avenge his family. Three assassins are selected to kill him. Each one is guaranteed $5 million dollars with the one that performs the deed receiving a $10 million bonus.
News of this reach Mike Talon and Laureen Paulding who know that Jack is innocent and try to stop the contract.
The traps that the assassins set up and what ends up happening to each was portrayed quite well. To find out how this all ends, you need to read the book which I highly recommend.
Tell me it isn't so - surely Jack Reacher didn't kill the billionaire's family? Only one way to know for sure, read the book. But do yourself a favor and don't start it right before bedtime as you won't want to put it down.
In addition to the returning characters of Lauren Pauling and Michael Tallon, there is also 3 assassins and a clandestine group of wealthy/powerful men and women. This is fast paced read with plenty of twists and turns along the way. And while I've enjoyed all of the books in this series, this one is my favorite so far.
"No one ever really won a war." At under two hundred pages, the latest in the Jack Reacher series is quick and easy to read, and definitely the best of the series so far. This time, Pauling and Fallon learn that three hit men are looking for Reacher, with the promise of huge reward for his death. The story is intriguing and logically presented although characterisation is again pretty none existent. It would interpret well.into an episode in a TV drama. For fans of simple visual-type adventure with a good plot
This author has done it again! Wow! Another very fast paced thriller with so many twists and turns you cannot stop reading! Talon and Pauling are great together. And right in the middle of this book there is a giant WOW! But I won’t tell! I received this book in advance as part of the authors A-Team for an honest review. Each book in this series is stand alone and heart stopping and I highly recommend reading all of this authors books. You will not bee disappointed.
What an interesting concept…..having three assassins try to kill on person, Jack Reacher. This was a mystery/thriller than moved along. Yes, the author did it again with another Jack Reacher story. It moved from state to state and into Europe. It started in Italy with the murder of an Italian billionaire's family and him making it a promise he will get whoever killed his family who appeared to be Jack Reacher. But whom he thought was the killer may not be. Great read.
A wealthy Italian businessman arrives home after a business trip to find his wife and children brutally murdered and only a single fingerprint to point to the identity of the killer. The fingerprint belongs to one Jack Reacher and the business takes out a contract and creates a competition between 3 of the top hit men in the world for the first one to locate and eliminate Reacher.
A brutal, savage killing. Fingerprints at the scene. Jack Reachers. The husband of the murdered women and child is one of the richest men in the world. A contract has been put in place on Reachers life. The motivation for the murder. One of the oldest in history. Revenge. This is an excellent read. Enjoyed immensely.
I really enjoyed trying to figure out this high action , suspense mystery. As the characters were figuring out things, I began to get an inkling as to who was behind the murders. I don’t recall another book where the main person never made an actual appearance. I definitely recommend this book.
Whilst I read this story cover to cover my feeling all the time was this has plucked the Reacher book characters in an effort to justify the title. The ending seemed like we have done enough pages for the contract how do we wrap it up before we do to much.
Great characters, a interesting plot and a story that moves at a good speed. I enjoyed the book and highly recommend reading this book and the others in this series.
Once again the team of Pauling and Tallon come together to solve a mysterious case revolving around Jack Reacher. Of course, Reacher is never actually in the picture. Nevertheless, this is a worthwhile read and I highly recommend it.
Not a great example of a great mystery or adventure. Everything seemed to bound along without anything but the fully expected. Not too long to read it. Can't say I look forward to the next one
Hunted by hired assassins for killing the family of an immensely wealthy businessman, which Reacher had not done. Used as pawns played by their hirer against each other, seek each other, and Reacher. Fast moving, great thriller.
This was book did and undoubtedly the best crafted story this far. Would recommend this to any Jack Reacher fan. Better than any of the D Capri stories. Two thumbs up.
Best book in this series (of the first six.) An Italian businessman/billionaire's wife and two children are murdered in his home, and a fingerprint at the scene is identified as belonging to Jack Reacher. The distraught husband/father contracts with a Swiss arranger for three killers to compete in eliminating Reacher, with a $5 million retainer and a $10 million success fee. Each of them pursues a different strategy: one goes after Lauren Pauling in NYC to locate Jack, one goes after the daughter of his commanding officer in the military police in Washington DC, and one follows his ATM withdrawals. Growing impatient, Benedetto has the killers told of their competitors and strategies, leading to anger and retribution. Michael Tallon hears of the assignments from a former colleague, and he joins Pauling as they head to Zurich to see the arranger, then Benedetto, eventually solving the mystery of who arranged the murders and why.
