This book used to be titled "Assisting Aimee" and was a part of the Kindle Worlds program. It has been re-worked and updated, but the basic story has not changed. If you've purchased Assisting Aimee in the past, there is no need to re-purchase.

This book can be read at any point in the series. It's labeled as book 10, but in reality, it could be book 2, or 4, or 8. I just didn't want to re-number the entire series. :)

Aimee O’Brien has harbored a not-so-little crush on her school’s new first-grade teacher since the beginning of the year. Tall, muscled, with long hair and a beard, and a penchant for wearing silly ties to amuse his students…the man is too gorgeous for words. As the PE teacher, Aimee’s wardrobe consists of casual gym clothing not likely to catch anyone’s eye. So no one is more surprised than her when Tony makes his interest clear.

Tony Santoro’s time in the military directly influenced his new choice of career—and his choice in women. He’s looking for someone of substance, and Aimee has far more to offer than just her adorably disheveled look. He can’t wait to see what’s hiding under those sweatpants and tees—but he might have missed his chance. The very day he finally works up the nerve to ask Aimee out, is the day unspeakable violence explodes in the school.

Trapped in the gym, Aimee and Tony will have to work together to get out with their lives…and the lives of the dozens of students trapped with them.

Author Note: In this story, Aimee and Tony deal with a threat that’s all too real in today’s society; the subject matter may be too sensitive for some readers.

I love this story of Tony and Aimee. I realize it is a cross over story with Desiree Holt's Omega Team series, but the fact that I have not read that one yet did not hinder my enjoyment of this book. It did however introduce me to some new characters that I will be reading about in the near future! This was a sweet story about two veterans who have found another purpose in life since serving their country. It highlights the problems in today's schools and shows how these two determined people met that challenge. I really enjoyed it and it was fun to see how Tony, ex Special Forces, was so unsure about approaching Aimee for a date. I found it sweet and endearing. I think you'll love this if you're a Susan Stoker fan and I am.

Oy vay. This felt like a PSA
description/

I get it and I feel a bit shameful because it’s a positive message in light of the horrible school shootings that have occurred in real life.

Buuuuuut...it could have been better. The romance was beyond whirlwind. All of the events span 1 day. YES, ONE FRICKIN DAY!

1. Amy and Tony express interest in each other
2. Tony asks Amy out
3. The school gets high jacked
4. Tony, Amy and the kids are saved
5. Tony goes to Amy’s home for comfort
6. Tony and Amy have sex
7. They talk about the future and live happily ever after

Again, all in ONE DAY!

I loved this book. While it's a part of Desiree Holt's Kindle Worlds, Susan wove in the main characters of her new Delta Force Heroes series seamlessly.

Tony, a first-grade teacher, and Aimee, a gym teacher, have been side eyeing each other for months, yet neither acted on the attraction as they were unaware it was reciprocated. *this is why communication is so important people. LOL*

Thankfully, now they both realize that it's a mutual attraction and the connection between them is obvious to see. While this is a novella, their relationship doesn't at all seem rushed as they've known each other for months, so while we didn't see it happening, it has been a gradual build-up leading them to this point.

They agree that they want to see where this leads, and make their plans to start exploring it. Unfortunately, their plans will have to wait.

Tony is taking his students to the gym for their scheduled period and Aimee is finishing up with a group of fourth-graders. It isn't long before these two former military members hear a sound they recognize...gun shots. Acting very quickly, they get the kids of both classes to hide in the only place they can, leaving Tony and Aimee as targets for the gunmen.

Will Tony and Aimee get out safely? Will they get their HEA? Will the Delta Force team need to stage a rescue? Who is the new tenant that Fletch, a Delta Force member, talking about? He's obviously interested in her, yet he's not making a move. What's stopping him? Fletch also seems very invested in the situation at the school, more so than usual. It's noticeable enough that his teammates are wondering why. Could it have to do with his new tenant's little girl?

While this situation is devastating to read about, it is unfortunately a very real situation nowadays and I think Susan handled it beautifully. She gave us an inside view of how terrifying it must be to be in this situation, and some insight into the thoughts that may go through the perpetrator's heads, leading them to take such a drastically evil course of action. I applaud her for writing about such a very plausible situation.

I highly recommend this book, the new Delta Force Heroes series, and honestly, anything by this author. She's never once disappointed me with her work and I eagerly anticipate each new release by her.

Another great Susan Stoker love story. It's very short and sweet. The story is basically the events of a day. There is no epilogue. Susan is an auto buy for me so even though there wasn't a lot to the story, I loved the strong H and h.

Aimee and Tony are teachers together at an elementary school who are on the verge of embarking on a relationship when they are threatened by a shooter.

This was a quick read without nothing much to adore or complain about. I liked the connection between Aimee and Tony and appreciated that the author didn't kill off any characters for quick emotion. However I didn't love the somewhat misogynistic way that another teacher who was interested in Tony was discussed- it gave Aimee a touch of 'not like the other girls'.

Tony is ex-Special Forces currently working as first year, 1st grade teacher and Aimee is a gym teacher at the same school. Aimee inadvertently rescues Tony from an uncomfortable situation in the teachers lounge with, well, I think of the harassing teacher as the Venus Fly Trap but anyway...
Tony goes for broke and asks Aimee out and hell breaks loose shortly after as they end up in a hostage situation with their students and an angry, lone gunman with nothing to lose.

Stoker packs a lot into this novella and the execution is well done! I liked that Tony and Aimee were on relatively equal footing, both ex-military and protectors for the small charges entrusted into their care. While their romance wasn't able to be completely fleshed out, it was just enough to make this reader happy!

The hostage situation with the students was handled well considering -in reality- the subject itself hits close to home for many and is a touchy, sensitive topic. Stoker doesn't treat the situation lightly by any means-this is fiction remember-yet she had my heart racing uncomfortably for a brief period!

Assisting Aimee is short but definitely not lacking in delivery! This story is enjoyable with a slight edge of suspense-definitely worth reading.

I read this today and loved it!

Aimee is our heroine and she served in the Army until her four years were up. She then went to college and became a teacher. She was beloved as all the children were crazy about her.

There was a new teacher this year, Tony, and he was drawn to Aimee from day one. He was quite handsome and wore his long hair in a man-bun and also had a beard. Yummy! She felt the same way. She was just crazy about him but knew there were more shapely and prettier teachers that wanted him. Tony was in Special Forces but didn't re-up when his four years were completed. He had seen too much and suffered from mild PTSD. He has also gone to college and wanted to teach.

He decided to bite the bullet and ask Aimee out on a date and she accepted. Aimee was the Phys Ed teacher and when it was his class's turn for gym they chatted a bit. Then out of the clear blue they hear gunshots. Realizing the sound was getting closer they hid the children and faced their attacker.

This is a very good story. If you have struggles with this type of thing there were no children murdered in this event but some adults were wounded.

Safety:
No OW/OM drama
No cheating
Celibate while attracted to each other

Loved Aimee and Tony

Another great Susan Stoker story. Just wish it had been longer! I can’t wait to start them but then don’t want then to end. This group of military men and women will be like new friends you want to hear more about all the time. The subject matter of the story was intense and a current event but was handled tastefully. Unfortunately there is never a good ending for the gunman. Aimee and Tony make a great team as teachers and hope we’ll see them in future stories.

The only thing wrong with this book is that it isn't longer. Yes, the characters getting together are a little rushed, but they've liked each other for a while before admitting it and getting together. I love Aimee and Tony, as well as the idea that she's the gym teacher and he teaches little kids. All in all, one of Susan Stoker's best books.

Two teachers attracted to each other put into the most dangerous situation imaginable. Luckily both Aimee and Tony are ex military, Tony being a Delta.

This is a short novella but definitely not short on drama with romance tucked inside. We even get the Delta Force guys to help save the day. Great story.

This one was had a shooter at a school, which made for a tense situation. I liked the leading woman, Aimee, an Army veteran and now an elementary school PE teacher. The leading man, Tony, was appealing as a teacher, kind and had mild PTSD which made him an interesting character, but the man bun and scruffy beard didn’t appeal to me and it was emphasized as part of his appeal. Also, the sex seemed awkward and uncomfortable. I’ve noticed this author does not like to prolong her endings, nor have a “happily ever after”, so the end of the story sneaks up on me. I read the ebook. 3.5/5

A different flavour of heroes here. I like that. Aimee was great... she saved those kids, no doubt. I liked that Tony wasn't all OTT... he acted, quietly, when he needed to.

Guns? I know guns don't kill people... people do... but... if they didn't have guns in the first place? Garghh.

5 Stars!!!

Aimee and Tony have admired each other from afar, neither having the courage to ask the other out. When Tony finally finds the courage there is an incident at school that brings to the forefront just how strong their feelings for each other are.

Another great book by Susan Stoker and a great novella to the Delta Force Heroes series; Susan’s books always have strong characters and always hold a little twist, Assisting Aimee is no different.

What was different about this book for me, is that as strong an alpha as Tony was he also had an underlying condition that he battled with daily, one that when under high stress and in terrifying situations could go one of two ways for him. Aimee saw this and was a strong supportive friend for Tony. She was able to act quickly, safely and without second thought for how dangerous their situation was; her priority were the children.

It's a refreshing change to read a book and find the female lead showing the strength and support for the leading male, showing that men need help sometimes and we shouldn't forget that men are human too. This isn’t to say that Tony wasn’t a hero, he and Aimee made a great team.

Aimee was strong, funny, loyal and hard working. Her job and the children she taught were very important to her.

Tony was a tough, strong, funny, loyal and caring man. The children he taught and his job were very important to him. He was fulfilling a promise with his job and helping to heal his soul at the same time.

I loved this story; Susan Stoker's books are always a pleasant, enjoyable, easy and captivating read. Each book has something different and we always get a happy ending. Susan's books never fail to pick me up and give me a much needed lift.

If you love contemporary military romances that are captivating, have humour and suspense you will love not only Assisting Aimee by Susan Stoker but all of her books, I highly recommend this author.

Wow....... if this isn’t something I’ve seen regularly on the news then I don’t know. Sometimes these scenarios are so sad because they’re realistic and scary. I loved Tony and Aimee....... both brave and heroic individuals. Just exceptional.

I enjoyed this novella, although its not long you still get a great story. Both main characters are ex military turned teacher, this comes in handy with the turn of events that happen. There's not lots of violence or sex, swearing or even much in the way of guns except towards the end. Although the event that happens is heavy and upsetting, the rest of the book is mainly boy meets girl asks her out. Though its short you don't feel cheated by the story, its one of those that if it had been longer would probably mean stretching the event out. To be honest that could have ended up getting boring and spoiling the whole thing, not to take away the serious nature of what happens in any way. I don't want to lighten that by any means, its something that happens far to often in todays society and doesn't always turn out the way this story does. Well done to Susan Stoker for giving us a great short story but not leaving us short in content.

Susan Stoker nailed yet another book perfectly!!

Despite the short length, I completely bought into Aimee and Tony's relationship and connection (didn't feel rushed or like it came out of no where), felt the drama at the school was well developed (so sad and scary, and unfortunately, very realistic), and loved how overall they weren't miraculously healed of their hang-ups, but instead they complimented and helped the other walk through the trails.

This is a sweet, emotionally-gripping (with the conflict at the school), fast paced, entertaining, but deep read. I felt like I was totally absorbed into Tony and Aimee's story and really, my only complaint is that I wish it could have been longer! haha!

Tony And Aimee

This story involves a scary situation that would give any parent nightmares. Ms. Stoker deals with it by creating an ex-Delta Force turned elementary teacher,Tony Santorro, who loves children and gym teacher, Aimee O'Brian!

Just when Tony and Aimee are having a fun time with the children in the gym, a lone gunman shotos his way into the school and creates a battle zone. Tony and Aimee must pull together to save the children and themselves.

Will they save the children? Will they save themselves? You need to read this book. Ms. Stoker writes another great military romance!

A few short appearance of a few characters from Susan's other books. (Delta Force books and seal of protection).
I wish It could be longer ,but then I wish that for everyone of her books !
You all know what I mean you want the happy ending but still sad to see the book and series end.
But then she comes out with other series and you fall for them.and she does have others series!

Loved it!

I absolutely love Susan Stokers books!! This one was a bit different from her others, but still great. Tony and Aimee (H/h) are both strong characters that finally admit they are attracted to each other. A few hours later, they are caught in a school shooting. Both have military backgrounds, and work together for the safety of the kid's. It was nice to get a glimpse of Ghost and his team, along with a small bit of Tex. Can't wait for more!!

The Omega Team: Assisting Aimee by Susan Stoker is an awesome read. This book is a quick read, perfect for those with limited time for reading. Ms Stoker has penned a fast paced story, full of great characters, action, humor and sizzle. From the time I started Tony and Aimee's story until the end, the pages never stopped turning, I couldn't put it down. I enjoyed The Omega Team: Assisting Aimee and look forward to my next book by Susan Stoker. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.

Assisting Aimee is apart of Desiree’s Omega Team World and is loosely tied to Susan's Unsung Heroes: Delta Force series. This book could trigger some issues to anyone that has lost someone to a school shooting, this is not overly graphic, more emotional.
We have all heard of school shooting over the last decade and as much as they talk about it on the news, we really don't know what is going on. Well Susan has taken on the task if giving her readers a insiders perspective on a school shooting.

Oh, Tony & Aimee. Quick, intense story! It sucked me in from the synopsis & I started it as soon as it hit my Kindle! : ) For a short story, it packs a lot of getting-to-know-your-characters, which I really enjoyed. The action & situation is INTENSE and handled very well, IMO. AND THAT COVER! The man is wearing an Olaf tie. He is a 1st grade teacher. I LOVE IT! : )

Another Super Stoker Book

Hard subject matter, but handled with true courage! Awesome to see the men from other series showing up! Wasn't sure I would be fan of a story based o not her characters, but she tied them together effortlessly! Amazing story!! Hope to see Aimee in the future

Hits close to the heart

I knew from the start this book might be hard to read. Surprisingly the story of Aimee and Tony managed to keep my head out of the issues being addressed. I loved the way he used her to stop an unwanted flirtation and they started to get to know each other.
Heart-stopping situations, tears, laughter, hot Deltas and more.
I couldn't put it down.
