Soul Dance #2

Tarnished Legacy

Rate this book
Germany, 1940
Half Romani, Tairin’s no stranger to hiding her mixed blood from gypsy caravans. What she can’t hide is her perpetual youth, courtesy of her shifter heritage. Every few years, she drops out of sight, resurfacing in a new country to join a caravan where no one knows her. She’s overstayed her welcome where she is, but Germany is at war, and travel has become all but impossible for everyone targeted by the Reich.

Elliott’s clairvoyance is strong, even for a Romani. Seer for all the caravans in Germany, he catches Tairin eavesdropping outside their leader’s wagon one night. He should turn her in, but it would mean her execution, and he can’t bring himself to do that. Instead, he interrogates her. Her magic is different, but he can’t figure out quite what she is.

Any association between Romani and shifters is forbidden, and Tairin shields herself from Elliott’s probing. She should leave right now, tonight. It would be easy enough. Shift to her wolf form and run, keeping out of hunters’ gunsights. She’s on the edge of flight when Elliott suggests a covert task to prove her loyalty. Tairin agrees immediately, kicking herself for being weak where he’s concerned. Shifters and Romani have no future together. Zero. Zilch.

She should be smart about this and vanish into the night—before he discovers what she is and destroys her.

The second book in the Soul Dance Series picks up years after the first. However, the main character is still a driving force in the story. Many new characters are added in this book which weaves a brilliant tapestry.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced really reader copy of this book. I already adore this authors work and the more I read her books the more I totally fall in love with the worlds that she creates. She is such a talented author and her work is outstanding!!!

I absolutely adored this book and it is my favourite to date, I can't wait to read the next book! I loved how this book ended, it made me smile so much! This really is an amazing storyline, there is no way that you could even try to guess what will happen next and I think that is one of the reasons that this book is such an addictive read! You are hooked from the first page right up until the last sentence of this book! This storyline is so brilliant and imaginative it captures your attention straight away as you are pulled into this story filled with vivid descriptions, not only of the landscape and the people but also using actual Rom words and as I know horse-drawn travelers it makes the book so genuine and I love how much the author has obviously researched the Romani & horse drawn culture but also history of how things were.

I had already fallen in love with Tairin’s character in the first book and this book just solidified my views on her, on her inner strength and courage, she shows in this book how selfless she is and how she really is just an amazing person. Then we come to Elliott and as soon as he was introduced into the story I adored his character! He has a strength and calmness to him that people respect, he also has a fiery nature when pushed and he will let that out. He is strong, caring and protective of those weaker than himself and the people who are important to him, the ones he has allowed close enough to his heart. He will always put himself on the line to protect others, he is most definitely an honourable man!

I could rave about this book all day and I know that others that have read this book will feel this same! A definite 5* rating for this book, everyone needs to read this book!!!

Tarnished Legacy: Shifter Paranormal Romance Soul Dance Book 2
by Ann Gimpel
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
WOW! I absolutely enjoy Ann Gimpel books! What's not to love this story has all kinds of paranormal characters! There is eagle, wolves, Bears and even vampires. Tairin is especially fearless, she is half Wolf Shifter and Romani talk about a awesome character she is. I enjoyed Elliott’s character he is , Romani and his clairvoyance is strong for a Romani. They are perfect together but any association between Romani and shifters is forbidden. But this just really makes the story better and that much more enjoyable. Loved the action and the romance, well done. 5 stars! I like and I really enjoy reading paranormal romance especially those written by Ann Gimple. She creates a particularly great timeline, she is such talented writer, the paranormal world is set in Germany, 1940 that is fantastic. I love reading a period of time that I hadn't live in. A number of Ann books are around this time period and the world she creates are fantastic. I am never disappointed because she makes you feel as if you are in this period of time. Tarnished Legacy: Shifter Paranormal Romance Soul Dance Book 2 is a captivating series, I enjoy how Ann writes her sensual scenes they are always scorching Hot and often depict in a way that makes you want to fall in love with the hero. This story is INCREDIBLE-fantastic No matter what she writes paranormal, romance about Wolves, Bears, Vampires, witches or sci-fi stories, Ann Gimple knows how to tell a AWESOME story, and her vivid descriptions are second to none. I recommend that you read these books in order. The characters have incredible depth and explosive passion, of course along with the secondary characters this will be a great series with each book more thrilling and captivating than the next! You will want to buy this book and buckle up! The ride is more than worth it! I voluntarily reviewed this book, because I love sharing my thoughts with my fellow readers.

Another amazing book by this author. We have gypsies, wolf shifters, vampire's and Nazi's, yep that's what I said. Tairin's been hiding in plain site, amongst a gypsy tribe currently located in Germany, for the last 10 years. Hiding due to her mixed blood and if she's discovered she would be killed. In this tribe is Elliott the tribe's clairvoyant and seer of all the tribes. Elliott finds Tairin secretly listening to a meeting of leaders of the different tribes and they learn secrets about each other and just in time for a plan to destroy a Nazi location filled with prisoners. They discover a Nazi plan more dangerous and evil than the camps. Because of this they must all overcome centuries of prejudice and work with their enemy, the werewolves. The story is filled with action, danger, magic and of course terrific paranormal beings. The authors ability to write great stories during different historical periods and fantastical world building never ceases to amaze me; I'm always eager to read her next book. Anyone who loves to read the paranormal genre, with plenty of action, suspense and surprises will love this new series.

This was exciting to begin since it was paranormal and historical making it a nice combo. This author knows how to capture the reader with her characters that she breathes life into . That also is how by the time I finished I was stuck like glue and sniffing out the next one since I was not going anywhere. Having a uncle that was half Romanian and half Hungarian the modern day culture mixed with things from the past. Since that being said I was able to enjoy this double. Since this is part of a series I have rolled into it with these characters Tairin and Elliott. She is special but hides her back ground . When these two come together the sizzle begins but with suspense that awakens us even more as we go along in this one. The chemistry cooks between them also with magic I would say in the mix. It keeps us even more since these two really should not be together at all. This is also during a time period heard growing up about from great grandparents that came here because of the turmoil. She does a excellent job spinning this one with all the elements and the characters that as I said stuck for the duration.

I voluntarily read this Advanced Review Copy as a part of the Soul Dance series. I had thought that it would actually pick up where “Tarnished Beginnings” had left off, but we find that this has jumped 200 years into the future and Tairin is still the primary female. She can’t say she hasn’t lived an exciting life going from one Romani caravan to another. I found it strange that none ever actually caught on, but she was always careful to leave before anyone noticed she didn’t age.

This book captures you 100% with the action, suspense, and mystery about being a shifter during the war in Nazi Germany. This time she has Elliott, a seer, but he isn’t certain if she isn’t working for the enemy. There is so much more, and even though Tairin’s story continues here, it can be read as a standalone, and this time there is so much more involved. Kudos to Gimpel for continuing with a spellbinding saga that will keep you turning the page. I’m looking forward to the next book.

So the story continues....Tairin has been wandering mostly in her wolf form because of the rejection she suffered in her human form. I felt sorry for her in the previous book because she was being punished for her lineage, something she had no control over, her father made it worst but she is brave, strong, independent & very forgiving. She protects her secret and moves frequently, it's time for her to leave this caravan now but she is discovered eavesdropping. Elliot is a powerful seer and has dedicated his life to his magic, he is drawn to Tairin and has a big decision to make about her. I like that he listens to her instead of passing judgement, because her reputation should speak for itself. There are bigger or rather more evil fish to fry then her secret though and they all have to come together to defeat this mutual enemy. I was upset with her father but I am glad that they get another chance. Very entertaining read.

Tairin is both shifter and Romani. She has spent quite some time hiding her shifter half from her Rom caravan, but it is time to move on. Trouble is there is a war going on and travel is becoming all but impossible, for those being targeted by the Reich. Elliott is a Rom seer and has noticed Tairin, she is different but he isn't quite sure how. For reasons no one really remembers, shifters and Romani are told to stay away form one another. Yes these two seem to make one another stronger.
These two are both so strong in their own right, put them together and they become a force to fear. Tairin is so amazing strong due to her past, and Elliott has his power and book smarts going for him. The bad guys have no idea what's coming their way. Love this and can't wait to read the next one!!

This is the second book in author Ann Gimpel’s incredible Soul Dance series. We again meet up with Tairin from book 1, but now it’s 200 years (give or take a few) in the future. Tairin has grown into her abilities as a wolf shifter, and has found a Romany tribe in Germany to accept her, given that her nature is well hidden. She anticipates leaving the caravan, given that she doesn’t age normally, but what she doesn’t anticipate is Elliott, the seer for the group. In a fantastical turn of events, Elliott has decided he’s the one for her. Now he just has to convince her. I fell into this book from the first, and never once slowed down. I found it to be breathtakingly exciting (vampires, shifters, and Nazi’s, oh my!) and full of heart pounding adventure, and more than a little romance. I am eagerly anticipating the third book in the series!

This is such an incredible book I loved it so much, I was not sure I would after reading the prequel. That was terribly sad and dark and I did hope that the next book would be lighter. In this book the scene moves forward 200 years to the time of the 2nd world war and the Romany are involved with evading the Nazi invasion. They are still not mixing with shifters but things have to change because they are battling so much evil they cant win if they are fighting alone. In real life the Romany were killed alongside the Jews and Hitler was very involved with black magic. So the author has skilfully woven fact with fiction to weave a really intensely riveting awesome tale. I am so looking forward to reading the 3rd book and finding out how fact and fiction come together.

Tarnished Legacy brings us back to Tairin and her struggles to continue on undetected. She has traversed between countries and caravans for many years. One day leads to her being place in a situation that could get her killed, but at the same time she can’t let anyone know what she is. Elliott catches her but there was just something about her that stayed his hand. He wanted something else from her. The mixing of race was forbidden and this intensified what was going on between Tairin and Elliott. There was more and yet it was hard to just push forward. I was not read to have it end but I wanted to know how things were going to progress. This historical PNR was magic. I was transported and lived the life as if I were there with them.

Great story with several layers. This story takes place in the past. In the story the Romani (gypsy) and Shifters don't get along. Tairin lives with her parents & grandparents in the Romani camp. When Tairin comes of age she learns of her mixed heritage. The Romani are forbidden to mix with others. Tairin's father wants them to leave the camp. He knows her Shifter animal is coming and wants to save them. Tairin's Mom refuses to discuss it with him or Tairin due to Romani rules. She ends up alone when both Romani & Shifters won't accept her.
The story also deals with vampires and the rise of the Nazi party. They are the enemies to both Romani & Shifters.

Tarnished Legacy: Now that Ann has laid the foundation in Tarnished Beginnings, Soul Dance Book 1, we get into the meat of the story. I'll just say, not surprising at all, that Ann Gimpel did not disappoint... well except that it ended. I knew that the story was part of a series, but I got so caught up in the journey. Darned cliffhangers! But, I digress. I didn't want it to end. I'm so glad that it doesn't! I truly love the dynamics of this story and it still has me captivated. Pick up this book, you won't want to put it down.

Second book in the Soul Dance series and it draws you in from the first page until the last one. It is a continuation of Tairin Jabari's story she is part Romani and part wolf shifter and does not age so she must keep moving from caravan to caravan so her heritage is not detected, as Romani and shifters are still at odds. She meets Elliott who gives her a task to prove her loyalty to her new caravan.. I want the next book . I received a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.

Set in the time of Hitler, this puts a supernatural twist on how Hitler was bale to rise to power. The story focuses on those who choose to take him on behind the scenes. I really enjoyed this play on history. Elliot is so caring, tentative to Tairin and intelligent. Tairin is fierce and adaptable and I enjoyed how through her perseverance she is able to bring people together for the greater good. This an excellent read. I volunteered to read this book.

I received this audiobook free for an honest review. I really enjoyed this paranormal/shifter story. The excitement of this story kept me on my toes. Didn't want to put it down. Tairin kept her secret for many years until she met Elliott. His magic and Tairin's abilities worked well together. The author did a great job with the solidness of this story and the development of the characters. The narrator did an excellent job with the characters and their personalities.

Good story

I enjoyed reading this. Thankfully no cliffhanger ending here, though there are plenty of things that remain unresolved that could be potential factors later in the series. There were some parts of the story that were difficult to believe, but I mostly remained immersed in the story.

This book is 200 years after the first book which was a prequel. I suggest reading the prequel because it gives you so much background. This book is about the same character because shifters live at least 500 years. After years of roaming she finds love in 1940 during the war in Germany. But first needs to defeat the vampires before they can be together. A good series.

Meet back up with Tairin over 200 years later during the time of the Third Reich & Hitler. She has stopped hiding her dual nature, but she has to leave the caravans she joins every few years when her lack of aging starts to get noticed. She meets Elliott, a Romani with strong seer magic. He discovers her eavesdropping outside the caravan leader's wagon & instead of turning her in, decides to interrogate her. Realizing her magic is different, but not knowing why he suggests a covert operation that prevents her from shifting & running again. She has to prove her loyalty to the caravan, but can she keep her heart about her where Elliott is concerned?

Her Romani/shifter duality is again causing her issues & she knows what it could mean for her if she is found out. She knows that what she finds out on the mission is going to either make or break her.

The series just keeps getting better. Ann's characters are all 3-dimensional in development & when you read one of the stories you can actually picture yourself as one of the characters. The visualization is amazing with details describing locations and what is happening at any given time in the books. If you have never read an Ann Gimpel, you have to add her to your MUST READ list at the top. You cannot go wrong with any of her stories.

3.5 stars. Tarnished Legacy is the second book in the Soul Dancer series. The book can be read as a standalone. But as Tarin's story began in Tarnished Beginnings and continues in the next book, I would encourage you to read the prequel first. There is violence and the sex is hot and steamy so definitely 18+.

The book blurb adequately describes the storyline so I'm not going to repeat that info here. The author did a great job summarizing the previous book. As well as explaining Romani and shifter culture and how Tarin and Elliott got together. The storyline will keep you guessing what twists and turns will be revealed next. It definitely kept me riveted.

I look forward to reading the rest of this series!

I have revisited this story, via a great audiobook presentation, which enhanced the story, yet further.

Tairin's journey continues, 200 years since we last heard of her plight in book 1. She has been traveling with the Romani again, but keeping her Shifter side a secret. Nazi Germany is their current location, and she, with a sympathetic Mage is h3ll bent in causing as much strife as possible in the Nazi strongholds. However, their plans are quickly changed, when they happen across a nest of Vampires.
It will take the Romani and Shifters, working together, to eradicate the Vampire nest.
There is drama and dread afoot, especially for Tairin and Elliott. I won’t reveal more, but it is a very action packed book, and an excellent tale.
