Don't we all love scandalous, naughty stories from time to time? If you find strong and fierce, passionate boss women insatiable, then this story will have you not only dropping your jaw but possibly your panties! These women bare their stories as well as their bodies and hearts in a way that kept the pages turning.
Hot and bothered is an understatement. Even when I was having "I could never moments", I preserved. I saw countless readers put the book down at these points because they were not interested in the erotica genre or interested in LGBT+ friendly material, with all different races and relationships. I highly enjoyed this aspect, it really made the characters shine each in their own way.
The voice of this is strong, encouraging, and powerful. Some scenes had a shock factor, but again it is erotica. I've known ladies to do some pretty wild things... this book is dedicated to those free spirits. The ending was a little erotic/chaotic for my taste, but the storytelling is so dang good! If you are expecting clean romance, this is not that type of book.
Because of how emotionally rewarding the rest of the story was, the tragedy, in my opinion, was a little bit of a letdown. Not to say any tragedy isn't tragic enough, the build-up I felt, was of such great quality...
Reading "No Panties Fridays" reminded me it is ok to own your sexuality. It is ok to be a strong and dominating female. It is ok to be a powerful woman and share our stories, not be ashamed of them.
I liked the characters, ideas, and storytelling this author had to offer. I look forward to checking out his future works as well as looking into his archives.
I want to thank the Goodreads Giveaway Program, Author Sean H. Robertson, and publisher 313Wood for the signed, print paperback I won. All reviews are my own, and voluntary.
I found myself struggling with this book from the first chapter. I thought for what was supposed to be a natural and candid conversation/interview that the dialogue was trying way too hard. I admit that it is a steamy read, but I found the way that the characters interacted with each other to be too distracting at times. It felt like when you are watching a movie or show where the guys are thinking about what goes on at an all girl slumber party or in the girls locker room and it always involves some sort of pseudo lesbian action and unrealistic bull that never really happens. I don't read books necessarily for the reality more often than not it is as an escape. I can enjoy a hot read as much as the next person... I didn't feel like I was reading something inspired by Sex and The City, it felt more like late night Cinemax from back in the day, Red Shoe Diaries or something similar. After I rolled my eyes to the point that I feared they may get stuck I figured it was time to put the book down and walk away.
I wish I could unread this book and get my time back. This book was a disaster from the first page. All of the conversations and interactions felt forced and I couldn’t find a single likable character. Nobody speaks the way that these women are talking to mine another. I get there is supposed to be some level of suspended disbelief but all I could think the entire time I was reading was that the women that interact with this man in his real life probably has nothing nice to say about his. This book feels like someone wanted to writes steamy sex scenes for his buddies and struggled to fill up the rest. The only reason I finished the book is because I felt guilty that I received it in a giveaway. I would not recommend wasting your precious time on this book.
I got this book as a giveaway from goodreads and really wanted to give it a positive review. But I can't. It was truly awful, and I don't say that lightly. I force myself to finish almost every book I start, but I just couldn't take any more of this one.
If it was supposed to be a parody of romance/erotica, then maybe it would have been better (but not by much) but as far as I know, it's supposed to be taken seriously. The dialogue is terrible and doesn't feel at all natural and the sex scenes are ridiculous and not hot in the slightest.
They felt like the fantasies of a 14 year old boy who has no idea how sex works...or the female body for that matter. Not to mention the women's last names (and their law firm) are Flipper and Mounter?!? Get the hell out of here. I just can't.
So maybe other people found it enjoyable - somehow - but not me. I feel bad being so harsh, but I think this might be the actual worst book I've ever read.
As an erotic book, this did not disappoint. The temperature stayed up through the whole story. Think girl's night out turned into an orgy of epic proportions. The interview angle made it professional. But, suddenly, the heat was turned on when the women veered off course and decided to tell some titillating tales from their personal lives. Add in a few real life hotties to the mix, and you have a recipe for orgasms. I would be surprised if this story did not excite you. Get comfortable, pour a glass of wine and be ready to breathe a little heavier.
Okay this one was a bit different for me. It's erotica told quite differently than anything I've read. Not that it's a bad thing, I think for the length of the book I would have preferred a smoother storyline versus jumping from one persons story and back a bit later. It was a bit choppy but you got the story.
The whole story line was new to me, 5 women alone stripping down, chatting about the sex lives, then inviting a few ex cons in to take care of business.
The only reason I can't give this one a higher rating is some of the dialogue, some of the comparisons these women used either made me say wth or made me stare stupidly at the page wondering how on earth anyone came up with that.
Don't get me wrong, there were great parts to this book, two of the women's stories were pretty amazing I just didn't care for the chopped up story, they way each woman starts to tell her story and then boom your reading a chapter about something else and then your back to the rest of her story. It wasn't a smooth story line but it's not unbearable, I may even give No Panties Friday TGIF a read next.
Sean H. Robertson, No Panties Fridays, vol. 1: Riley's Secret (313Wood, 2012)
How much did I hate this? I got the second part as a freebie with the first and I'm not planning on reading it. Here's an example of the diction, one of the first sentences in the book, and remember, we're supposed to believe this is an exact transcription of someone speaking: “I'll tell you the truth, as I do with all of my friends and clients, whenever they ask me any question.” At least Robertson didn't start off with “I will”), but if a lawyer talked that way to me, I'd assume I was getting fleeced. And if you paid the asking price for this instead of getting it when it was a free promo, well, you did. ½
One of the worst books I have ever read. All of the dialogue was forced and very unnatural. I didn’t care for the interview style format as it changed perspective and sometimes personal thoughts without any clarification. I didn’t understand the point of the story as there was no beginning nor end. Complete lack of flow. The intimate details were some sort of ridiculous fantasy which was unappealing. I didn’t comprehend why it was divided into parts at what seemed like rough pauses. Characters were added with no main purpose. The kindle text was not formatted correctly which was distracting and the editing was poor. I received the book through Goodreads First Reads giveaway.
I received a copy of No Panties Fridays free in exchange for an honest review.
This book is supposed to be an interview of 2 lawyers and their paralegal from Detroit by 2 European journalists after winning a big case.
From the beginning I had a problem with the interaction of the characters. Seriously? Who talks like that? Even if you ignore all of the sexual innuendos and puns (95% of the the book) your left with what is supposed to be heart felt dialogue between the characters but comes off forced, stiff and unrealistic. Basically, this book sounds like what a guy thinks happens in a women's locker room or slumber party. Minus the pillow fight.
It could also use a new editor. A lot of in continuity errors. Even changing Reily's name to Ashley on page 55.
However, if you don't care about the story at all and editing errors don't annoy you, No Panties Fridays is steamy and erotic.
This book can be read in an afternoon. It has a storyline but a lot of spice. The names of the attorneys are Flipper and Mounter. By the names you will be able to guess about the content.
Not very good. Very unrealistic, unnatural interactions. I wouldnt read it again. They were aiming for sexy and steamy in this book and it seemed more like a cheap, badly made porn.
I enjoyed this story, an original plot with two journalist's interviewing 3 lawyers regarding a women's rights lawsuit that they had won. The interview gets very personal, with stories of loves lost and sexual pursuits reminisced. All involved, end up taking off their panties in solidarity and end up spending a very hot and sexy night together. A few other male characters are included and I can't say any more without some serious spoilers. I have never read a book written in this manner with poetic sentences and innuendos and lots of play on words. Hard to believe it was written by a man. I will look for more written by this author. This book was gifted by the author for an honest review. "Her slowly spoken, erotic words handcuffed us all, as we sat on pins, needles and immensely stimulating water jets perfectly contoured beneath our bums."
This book was just alright for me.. It wasn't a book i would read again and again but it was worth the first read! I wanna say Thank you to the Author for letting me have the chance to read this book for an honest review, i just don't have many words to say about this book.
Ok first this book was very different than I expected The journalist interviewing .... Lawyers who , I guess have more secrets than we could ever know . If was sexy and different , overall it was a good book a few twist and a few place that I knew what was coming But I enjoyed it
Ok first off I love erotica books, this book was good but a bit weird. It definitely got my panties wet, many times, it was just a bit odd. I did enjoy it
I can’t even really rate this because it was a DNF and I skimmed what I did read. (Maybe 30pgs of what I’d maybe 150pgs long) It was supposed to be steamy which I honestly didn’t realize when I started it. I received it quite a while back from a giveaway in exchange for an honest review. So here we are. I got no substance from what I did read and it was confusing. Was there supposed to be a story along with the sex scene that was described? I thought maybe, but didn’t want to keep reading to find out. Also, I don’t really want to read about people who are barely adults in sexual ways either. It felt wrong. The language was exaggerated too which was not something I expected or was looking for. Not really sure who the audience of this is, but it’s definitely meant for adults only.
I just couldn't get into this book. Sorry just nothing about it get me going. Didn't like the characters and the way the book started was just a turn off
WOW I don't even know what to say. I was given this to read for an honest review and it pains me to be leaving this review. I really really tried to get into this book. It's not a long read and it really has taken me 3 days and I just couldn't go on. I have managed to make it to 81% and just when I think it's going to get good; I end up reading words that are just not funny. I suppose this is a Erotica/Comedy but I did not laugh.
I also had to literally go back to the beginning a few times because it just wasn't clear as to who the hell was giving us the story and then when I figured it out I was like that is great idea writing to your best friend/lover and it turns out to be to us the readers. OK awesome but some of the sex scenes were just not believable; come on virgins and doing the stuff that they do, I was like no way and rolled my eyes. I even had to reread a part because I was like that is not possible. Anyways, it just didn't get any better for me and again I tried so hard to finish this.
Eh...I thought this could have been better. I was a little weirded out by the way this is presented...as a bunch of women talking like this. My kindle had an error in downloading it and I can't finish the last 1% of the book without reconnecting to the cloud and downloading everything waiting for me...since I am not doing that until I am done with all of the books in my kindle, I decided I would just write the review. I don't think that 1% is going to do much for me.
Anyhow, it was an odd erotica "novel". There were "erotic" scenes but I wasn't sold on the way they were presented.
I would have much more preferred it if it was just a flat out story that followed each of these women's escapades versus the drunken tell all...
Recommended for someone looking for an okay read with a new twist on story telling.
Im really not sure on this one yet. I gave it 3 it wasnt bad for a 2 but wasnt up to a 4 star. I hate when Im indecisive. Maybe too much soul pouring out for a erotic novel. I see its got 3 and 4 stars from others. Maybe ill shelf it and reread it again. Powerful women!! is always a plus. The reference to hollywood actress' (Liz Taylor and Raquel Welch)a bit cheesy for me. I think what the read feels to me is a bit robotic. Maybe its the interview type format its in. I can quiet put a finger on it. I hope that other read it will see something different. Again Ill put it up and reread it at another time.
