The title itself had piqued my interest to read this book 🤓

PI Agency is a small private investigation firm owned by Rashmi who is surviving economically in her basement modified workspace with a team of two Akshay & Diksha 😎

The much needed high profile case for her agency comes through business tycoon Mr.Brajesh Arya who wants her to investigate his son’s drug addiction source & maybe a personal vendetta 🥺

Rashmi is driven into an intricate, wide spread drug trail from the slums, educational institute to the organised corporate sector & a wild goose chase ensues there on 😣
But has she landed her self into something more than her capability? Is she endangering her team & herself for just a high profile case? 🧐

Loved the momentum of the storyline barring some errors in the editing 😁 The book will keep you glued till the very end 😍 Must read for those detective fiction lovers ☺️

A compelling thriller yet again by Neelabh. His first book "Resurrection of Evil" was a best seller and I am sure this would also go on to become one.

I was intrigued with the title, to start with. This wasn't a usual title which has kindled my interest t start reading it as soon as I received it. I would not mention the reason behind the title because it is for you to buy the book to find out yourselves :-)

The story revolves around the protagonist Rashmi Purohit who runs a detective agency ably assisted by her assistants Akshay and Diksha. They weren't a big agency until one day, a wealthy businessman reaches out to them to help him with an investigation.

Rashmi takes this up. While she was about to unveil the real culprits, she gets attacked. Her life was at stake. But her fighting spirits never let her down. To her surprise or rather a shock, she finds the culprit with the businessman,Brijesh Arya who has deployed her for the job.

What does the culprit has to do with Brijesh?

Is Brijesh masterminding these activities?

Then comes the other twist. The investigation leads to a more complicated web. Author has effectively used TOR,Bitcoins in this novel where it makes the investigations even more complete.

Did Rashmi succeed in unveiling all these?

What were these investigations all about?

Who was behind this?

Read this fast paced thriller to find out more. If you were expecting the usual ending, you are wrong. Yes. The ending reveals the mastermind who you wouldn't have predicted and even if you think you did, you would be proved wrong in the end which is the beauty of this story.

✨This book tells the story of Rashmi Purohit, who always wanted to join CBI but failed to do so but that didn't stop her from investigation.
She started her own private detective agency, known as "PI agency" with Akshay and Diksha.

✨This team of 3 people gets a turning point when Rashmi was offered to take the case of a businessman Brajesh Arya who had a drug addict son "Rahul" and he wanted to know the root cause behind his son's addiction.

✨It is totally a different case for them as its not about blackmails or other cases but this is of 'Drug Addiction' which is not easy to solve and Brajesh wants Rashmi to solve this problem.
They took the case but biggest task for them was to find Alphalion because they don't even know how he look, but all they knew was- he was the reason behind students getting addicted to drugs and to solve the case they have to find Alphalion first. The day when they thought that the case is almost done, the team of 3 almost faced a near death situation which was unexpected and later they came to know so many shocking things.

✨Read the whole story to find out-
Who is Alphalion?
Could Rashmi be able to find the mystery?
Is their lives are in danger?
What was the shocking thing they found out?

Overall It's an awesome mystery thriller with great investigation part. I liked the character of Rashmi and her investigation. The writing style is really good and easy to catch.

Review-
What would your parents think when you inform them that want to open a detective agency? Well I don't know about parents in the other parts of the world but most Indian parents would get a shock of their lifetime.
Rashmi Purohit runs the Pi Agency, a detective agency after she failed to become a CBI officer according to her father's wishes.
She employed two very unlikely candidates to be her help in the agency. A bubbly girl, Diksha and Akshay, who stumbles upon the agency.
Together they are hired by a wealthy entrepreneur Mr. Arya to find the culprits who sold drugs to his addicted son. The chase begins and as the mystery unfolds Rashmi and her team members find their lives in danger.
The plot was fantastic. Indian writer, writing about a powerful female character running a detective agency is just what bookworms need to read in a weekend.
The characters were well balanced. Though I didn't like the villains, I loved the twists. The light humour also contributed to the success of the plot.
I am particularly a fan of tying up loose ends and the author performed that task neatly.
I believe the story to be an excellent effort by the author and that a sequel would be even better.

My Rating: 3/5
Genre: Crime Thriller (Fiction)
Pages: 313 (Paperback)
Publisher: Self-Published
Date of Publication: 21 June, 2018

Synopsis:
Rashmi Purohit, a detective in her own right, runs an organization by the name of Pi Agency, with her two sidekicks Akshay Arora – a software engineer/bumbling boozer, and Diksha Patel – a golgappa*-loving marketing executive. A failed CBI aspirant, she started her own detective agency to maintain a semblance of what her father had envisioned her life as – a father she loved but lost long back.

Brajesh Arya, the affluent owner of a management consultancy firm in Gurgaon, can't seem to rid his only son, Rohan, of his drug addiction. He has tried everything, from admitting his son to a De-Addiction Center, to filing complaints with the authorities, to using hired muscle, but nothing seems to put a stop to the nefarious activities of the drug suppliers. As a last resort, desperately acting on his secretary's opinion, he approaches Det. Rashmi Purohit in the hope that she will be able to reach the bottom of this menace.

When a hapless father, after chasing innumerable options but not finding success anywhere, pins his hope on Rashmi – what is the final outcome? Does she succeed in nabbing the perpetrators? Or is there something more than meets the eye?
And when an agreement she entered into with someone she trusted goes awry, there are suspicions galore. Can she trust her client implicitly, or is there something Mr. Arya is not telling her?

Will this be the case which finally gives a much-needed break to her unacknowledged agency?

Review:
I want you to eradicate the problem itself.

And thus starts the thrilling journey. The author has done a commendable job with the pacing of the story, with the short, and crisp chapters, and keeping it to the point. The style of narration is omniscient, with proper execution. I completed the book in about five to six hours, and it is possible to read it in one sitting only due to its gripping storyline (and an occasional dose of humour). Peppered with titbits about daily/Delhi-NCR life may appear uneventful at first, but it supplements the storyline nicely.

This is the first time I am reading this author's work. Set within the time frame of a few weeks, juggling with the themes of cryptocurrency, drug-abuse, etc., the book is somehow relevant to the current times, despite it being a work of fiction. Some new ideas used in the story points towards the author's ingenuity. Being a Delhi gal who lives a stone's throw away from Connaught Place, and who has been to almost all the places mentioned in the book, this story feels like home to me, in spite of its dark undertones.
Fear has more power to deter someone than assertions alone.

In a detective novel, it is really necessary to set up back stories, and gradually open up the cards at the appropriate places, which the author achieves with élan. There is not only suspense in the story, but in Rashmi's backstory as well. In fact, at one point in the story, I started to wonder, 'Hell, who is playing whom here?'

There is judicious use of characters, just about right, neither overcrowding the story; nor making it feel that there is a need for more of them to make sense. And don't get fooled by the snazzy titles of the employees, though clumsy and reckless, they too are mean detectives in the making (or sidekicks at least!). I especially enjoyed Akshay-Diksha's camaraderie, and Diksha's cheekiness made it more of an enjoyable read. Also, the flashbacks, and reminisces into her past helps the readers understand what makes Rashmi tick. Having recently watched Jessica Jones, Rashmi reminded me of her, a broken badass who is just living by with some monotonous cases until the thrill of a major chase starts (but of course, without the superpowers). I am a romantic reader (at heart), but the readers like me – be warned – coz there's no romance in this detective story (series?), not that it is necessary. Sure, there are some romantic undertones, and this is only Book #1 (I am only saying that a girl can hope, or I may just be delusional!)
Offend anyone, and they would spit out the truth to save their honour.

The text has some hard-hitting quotes, some of which I have shared throughout the review.

What I liked:
• There are no loopholes in the plot, not as far as I can see, the author ties all the loose ends of the story perfectly.
• I got to learn a few new investigative expressions. (It is for you to read and find out.)
• The technical jargons have explanations in layman's terms (which is really helpful for readers like me, who have no idea of the workings of certain technologies).
• The story ends on a suspenseful note, which raises the question, 'Is the case really solved? Or is there more to it?'
• I have added two new books to my TBR (To Be Read) list.
1. Nacronomics by Tom Wainwright
2. American Kingpin by Nick Bilton

What didn't work for me:
This book is self-published, it is not something I would have mentioned here but for the proofreading errors. This would have gotten a four star rating from me if not for the various grammatical errors/ typos/ skipped words/ extra words etc. throughout the text. I would have recommended it for a re-read except that the errors make reading it tedious. (Call me an English Nazi, but that's how it is!)

There is more to come; if one looks at the listing. Some of the quips about Rashmi's personality makes it clear that she is on her way to becoming a great detective in the making, this is Book #1, after all (can’t wait to go on more exciting journeys with her!).

P.S. Rashmi's father, Dheeraj Purohit, is absolutely right, when he says the following (which can one day become very popular quotes on Reading, and I am thankful to the author for writing them!):
Make reading your hobby, even if you don't like to read. You will learn things that will prove useful when you least expect it.

When you stand in the darkness, when you have lost all hope, when you can't see any path to walk ahead, read; reading will act as the lantern to show you the path. It might not take you to the destination, but it will keep on guiding you towards a resolution.

Special Mention:
The cover of the book is cool! It matches the description, given of Rashmi, in the text to a T. And the illustrations clearly show what the book is about.

Book Name: Pi Agency
Author Name: Neelabh Pratap Singh
Format: Paperback
No of Pages: 313
Publisher: Neelabh Pratap Singh (1st Ed. 2018)
Blurb: The blurb portion of the book is written in a compact way with highlighting the core of the plot. It can surely make the reader curious enough to turn the pages of the book to know about the story. So, the blurb is good and perfect.
Cover: The front cover of the book carries a mysterious look (especially the blue eyes) from the shadowed face of a Woman; which justifies the protagonist completely. This eye catching cover certainly deserves much appreciation for this work by Olivia.
Title: The title of the book is simple yet attention seeking because of the word ‘Pi’. I wondered at first that what can be the connection between mathematics and an agency; though after started reading the story, the justification was clear to me very fast. This triggering title is not only good but according to the base story, it is enough appropriate I can say.
Language & narration: The language of the book is lucid and simple enough to comprehend for any kind of reader, though I must say that sentences are being coated with authentic words to give the reading a cherishing flavor. Hindi words are there at places, which are written in Italic fonts to make it look different. Hindi lines are there and with translation in English simultaneously. The fast paced narration and the vividly descriptive style of the author aptly suits the genre and the base plot quite well. Especially, the twists have been revealed the exact places needed; so, in the aspect of thrill, I must say that the narrating style of the author is commendable.
Plot: The main plot of the story is based on a sensitive issue called “Drug racket and their effect on today’s youth”, but this is not the only thing to look forward. The author has perfectly woven this story with several other complimenting sub-plots to make the story compact and heavyweight. Fulfilling the dream or ambition, team bonding & sensitive knots among the family will also come into the frame at right time. Overall, it is very sharply developed story with an in-depth plot I can say. Most importantly, the plot never loses its grip in the middle or dragged anywhere, which is the prior thing to notice while going through the ‘thriller’ genre.
Setting: The setting of the story is in Gurgaon, Delhi, Malviya Nagar, Mahipalpur, Seemapuri, Delhi NCR, Meerut, Laxmi Nagar, Manesar.
Characterization: Crystal clear characterization can be considered as the second most positive strength of this book. Not only the protagonist (Rashmi Purohit), but the other supportive (major & minor) characters are portrayed aptly & each of them is justified to their respective roles till the end. Another good thing is, the characters never seemed to be fictional. The realistic touch made the characters easy to connect with the reader. Let’s have a look at the names of the characters mentioned in the book- Rohan, Brajesh Arya, Akshay Arora, Diksha Patel, Rashmi Purohit, Bhupender Bhatia, Priya, Sunita, Varun, Prakash, Karan Gupta, KD, Chander Kala, Jitender, Mohit Sherawat, Ankit Malik, Sabrina, Aminoor, Sunita Prabhakar, Rishi Tanwar, Shekhar, Dheeraj Purohit, Pushottam Purohit, Ross Ulbricht, Madhu Trivedi, Kuldeep Sharma, Sohan Garg, Adi Luthra aka Alphalion aka AL90, Cocaman.
Theme: Crime, Mystery, Thriller, Detective.
Story in a nutshell: The story starts from a helpless situation of a highly reputed wealthy entrepreneur (Brajesh Arya) about his one and only Son Rohan. Brajesh Arya’s Son Rohan was a sheer drug addict and being a rich and one of the most successful businessman of his era, money was never an issue to bother Brajesh Arya. So, he left no stone unturned to help his son get rid of this devastative addiction. But it seemed like all efforts were going in vein. Even 2 years in Drug Rehab Center was not that much fruitful to him or his Son. Brajesh Arya realized that even Police also have other prior motives than reaching for the core of the drug cartel. The constant pain of his Son was breaking him inside and he lost all faiths. He was determined to reach to the person or the racket which was operating this forbidding racket and destroying the lives of youths, especially who caused his Son this pathetic situation. To see no other options left, he appointed a private investigator called Rashmi Purohit to get evidence, rather to point out the source of this drug cartel; so that he could wipe out them by handing over them to police and in this way many other young innocents could be saved as well.
Rashmi Purohit once had a dream to make it to the CBI. It was her father’s dream actually to see his daughter becoming a CBI Officer, just like him. But fate had another cards to play. Rashmi failed in the exam and could not make it to CBI. But it was unable to stop her. Rashmi founded her own private investigation agency named ‘Pi Agency’. She started slowly but steady. Her office was small (situated in the basement of her house actually) with no luxuries and with limited sub ordinates (Akshay Arora & Diksha Patel) to help her in cases. Rashmi had a dream to achieve a new level with Pi Agency not only for herself, but she had something to prove to someone. She did not get any major breakthrough till date Brajesh Arya happened to her. Though she was unwilling to take his case, but she knew that success on this case will give her the spot, the place she wanted. She was desperate to make it till the end.
After started working in this case, she tried every possible moves to get even the slightest clue that could help her getting closer. Lots of events happened with time, but after a time thing seemed to return on the point zero; because she started to realize that to reach the ultimate core of this racket was a task almost next to impossible. But she did not know to give up. It was not in her blood. After getting a major clue, while investigating that, she put her life into the verge of death. To stop Rashmi, one of the main members of that cartel sent her to the edge of her life, even almost the same happened with her subordinates Akshay & Diksha too.
Though by extreme intelligence, Rashmi managed to escape death, but worse thing was waiting for her. Brajesh Arya retorted and discharged her from this case….
What happened after that? Why did Brajesh Arya remove Rashmi from her case? Who was the person responsible for the life threatening attempt on Rashmi and her teammates? Does this mean the end of everything? Will the main head of this illegal drug racket easily get away this time too? Is there no way possible for anyone to catch the hold of the mastermind? Who was the mastermind actually? How was the person operating such a big illegal racket with so much success in open day light? Is there anyone to catch and stop the cartel? Is this again a failure this time for Rashmi, just like the result of the exam for CBI? To get all your answers and to know the rest of the story, grab your copy of the book now and witness the truth yourself.
My Verdict: Author Neelabh Pratap Singh has penned down a picture perfect thrilling story about drug cartel and their effects in today’s youths. The story covers some major and sensitive issue running inside society and under Govt. surveillance as well. The main mastermind of these illegal rackets are spreading their wings in metro cities, making the highly rich young souls fall for their prey. They are not even sparing the Kids. Just for making huge money, and illegal profit, these rackets are playing with the future of innocent young lads and making them face the devastating faith…where, they find no way returning. After becoming a victim of these drug cartels, maximum of them are forced to face the unfortunate end. They not only finish themselves but along with the dreams and life and everything of their parents as well. Technology, appearance of crypto currency, the need for excessive money to fund new start ups, current market scenario in employment, and how they forced to opt for the illegal path ultimately, how these rackets are being operated from the mastermind and how they operate, how science, technology and software have come to the misuse of them in this wrong purpose, - all these are clearly shown here. Effect of drug addiction, police’s role in some cases, the work process of a private investigation agency a private investigator, the cause of getting addicted, details statistics about drug addicts, information about highly advanced gadgets, ERP software, TAR browser and its entire details, background of new start ups, crypto currency (Bitcoin, Litecoin), sources of money to fund start up, working steps of drug rackets, online drug store, the dark web, detail in hacking, marketing- all these issues have been discussed in this story properly to aware the society. The pain of Rashmi after her father’s demise, reminiscing her time with her father, the hatred for the selfish act of her mother, the determination, intelligence, bravery, sharpness, maturity, and professional attitude of Rashmi, the touching memories, the letter of her father, the bonding between Akshay & Diksha, like a family (the trio), the fatherly nature of Purushottam and they way it ended- I liked it entirely. Twists and revealing the face behind the curtains have been presented the most apt way possible. It gives us some vital messages like- if determination, honesty and focus is there then nothing can stop you to achieve your dreams. Continuous trying is the stepping stone of success.
I was hooked with the book till the end and will be looking forward to the future works of the same author.
Drawbacks: Drawbacks in the sense I haven’t found any, except just a few tiny typo errors and that is surely corrigible. I noticed the uses of ‘F’ words in the sentences quite frequently at places; though I am not pointing it out as a drawback, but personally I am not much comfortable with this. Rest everything is fine with the story.
Recommendation: I would definitely love to recommend this book to every thriller lover and mystery addict and to every avid reader out there. It is a gripping read and a much worthy book to give a shot. Thank you.
Rating (Overall): 4/5 Stars.

I had previously reviewed Neelabh’s first novel, “The Resurrection of Evil”, a mythological thriller. So my first thought on starting with “Pi Agency” was that this story was completely different.
Rashmi Purohit is a tough, no-nonsense woman who aspired to join the CBI but couldn’t do so. She is running her own detective agency, i.e. Pi Agency from the basement of her house with her two assistants, Akshay and Diksha.
Pi Agency is hired by Brajesh Arya, a rich businessman, to investigate a drugs cartel that has succeeded in getting Brajesh Arya’s son addicted to drugs.
An investigation is launched which turns out to be full of twists and turns with danger thrown in. The investigation involves the use of technology, going undercover, using a honey trap and also the danger of physical violence.
Rashmi Purohit comes across as a fine character as a dedicated and skilled investigator. The characters of her two assistants, Akshay and Diksha are also very nicely etched.
Does the Pi Agency succeed in tracking down the main culprit behind the drugs operation? That of course is the focal point of the story.
Pi Agency is an extremely enjoyable suspense thriller and I recommend it to readers. I will be definitely looking to reading another story about the next adventure of the Pi Agency!

This is the first book in the Rashmi Purohit Series and second book by the author. The name of this book instantly gives the glimpse of the book. I have already read author Neelabh’s debut book The Resurrection of Evil which was an amazing read, hence I had a great expectation from his second book.

Plot summary:

Rashmi Purohit is CBI aspirant, however she never able to crack it failing dream of his CBI father. Though she didn’t become a part of Indian law enforcement she started her own private detective agency.

For more reviews please go to https://www.haloofbooks.com/

It was a hard blow for his father but he always supported her decision. Rashmi with her two subordinate Diksha and Akshay runs Pi Agency. Diksha manages marketing and Akshay takes up technical part. Diksha and Akshay both wanted to do something better than doing 9 to 5 job.

Being a startup and small team, they are waiting to get hands on something bigger.

On the other hand, businessman Brajesh Arya’s son Rohan is getting addicted to drugs. In spite of getting into rehab for many times, there is no improvement. Tired of this, Mr. Arya decides to nab the responsible people.

He contacted Pi agency for this matter. Pi agency has never done anything like this however, the proposal is attractive and challenging hence Rashmi agrees.

Starting from the grassroots Rashmi found that the drug selling system has been totally revamped and the authorities are giving it no attention.

With her techniques and experience slowly Rashmi and his teammates enter into the deeper den of this drug business but soon she realized that she has become the prey and there is no way of going out.

What will Rashmi do now? Is she going to lose this case? Is she going in the right direction? Are her decisions right? What were her mistakes? How is this drug selling system runs? Will she able to reach the culprit? What are the challenges ahead of her?

Apart from this, Rashmi had a sad past. What is it?

Read this fast-paced, captivating detective mystery to know the answers.

My perception:

After a long time, I have finished a book in three sittings. The mystery totally hooked me. The author has played well with the story. There is some unpredictable twist which makes it much more interesting. I totally loved the dark web part and the way author has used it here is appreciable. As I already told in the review of ‘Resurrection of Evil’ the author has again done some serious research. Rashmi Purohit’s character is well crafted by the author and it reminds me DCP Rita Ferreira, created by the author Vish Dhamija. Overall, it is always fun to see a brave lady fighting with the goons.

If you want to escape from the heavy literature and thinking to read a quick yet interesting detective mystery then you should definitely pick this book. I am eagerly waiting for the next part! Full of adventure, full of action, full of mystery and novelty! Do not miss this book.

"PI Agency" is a detective fiction by Neelabh Pratap Singh. 'PI in the title is the initials of the term private investigator, which I didn't follow at first as I wasn't aware of this abbreviation. What caught my interest first was the subtitle of the book suggesting it to be a mystery novel.

“Reading is like that swinging lantern that rips through the annals of darkness. It won’t show you your ultimate destination, but will light up the path toward it.”

I loved this quote from the book and it is so true.
Now moving on to the content of the story.

The narrative begins with a tensed father, Brajesh worried about his drug addict son, Rohan. His anguish leads him to a detective Rashmi Purohit, a failed CBl aspirant. He wants Rashmi to find the one behind the continuous supply of drugs who is hell bent into luring Rohan back to addiction even when he is trying with all his will to get out of it. Only because this case might be her chance to rise in the field of private investigation, she agrees to take the case.

Till now it just seemed to be a common narcotics case. But further into the story the actual purpose behind this posed crime gets revealed. And it is shocking. It is always said, ' never take your enemy for granted, that they might be a step ahead of you'. Rashmi and her team learnt this the hard way. But will they recover within time or become just another victim?

The drugs issue is a very sensitive case all over the world, destroying the life of anyone who comes in contact with it. This issue has been portrayed very perfectly in this story showing how different people generally get linked with buying and selling of drugs.

The various scenes, especially the thriller ones felt very real. I got chills while reading them. Throughout the book the suspense behind the real culprit will be maintained averting the readers from even a bit of dullness. Though I read the Kindle version, I completed 90 percent of the book in just one sitting. It was so good. Although I found a few mistakes in the book, I ignored them very easily.

Last but not the least, every character were very finely depicted and build up through the story. I personally liked Diksha best as the emerging saviour.
Highly recommended book.

Rashmi Purohit is a private detective and the owner of the Pi agency. After failing to clear the CBI exam, which was her father's dream she decided to become a private detective and become successful in this field. Her office has only two employees, Akshay an IT expert and Diksha, a marketing expert.

When she is looking for ways to boost her firm she gets a case from a wealthy businessman Brajesh Arya. He came to Rashmi for his son Rohan who is a drug addict and seeks her help in finding the main person behind the drug supply, the Alphalion.

Although Rashmi takes up this case with much excitement, they have no idea how difficult it is going to be in finding the Alphalion. But Rashmi is determined to find the main culprit even if it meant to risk her and her colleague's lives.

This story is about Rashmi Purohit and how she finds out the real fugitive. Filled with suspense, twists and turns this story is everything that a person looks for in the detective stories. I loved the way the author has narrated the story which keeps the readers glued to it till the end.

I liked the way the plot changes and the suspense and anxiety will keep you interested throughout the book. The language used is very simple with not much of technical jargon. I liked the way the relation between Rashmi and her colleagues is showcased.

Overall it was a great read and I recommend it to everyone.

the cover itself reveals the story of the book somehow and yes it's an nice thriller and action book to read obviously. It's widely said that where there is a will there is a way so here it is when Rashmi, a girl couldn't clear the exam to become a CBI and complete her father's dream she didn't lose interest, she made a agency of her own.

Our fates are decided but most of the times in our lives we take wrong decision or do things we never wanted to do but life is all about accepting opportunity when we r in dire need of it. Engineers have a history of doing things that are totally different from the profession they choose but they indeed are amazing in whatever they do the same thing was with Akshay who works with Rashmi. Along with her here comes Dikhsa, a girl of Rajasthan who just in order to prolong her marriage came here for work and decided to be with this. They used to take of many case and handle them but something unexpected happened in their lives.

They were given an amazing work to do which is fatal at the same time. They are supposed to find a person who pushes youngsters into drugs and businessmen are related to it too.

Ending was almost like 🤯🤯

Loved the book it was more like a action movie that u could enjoy. Nice work and writing style was impressive.

Views:

I was quite intrigued when I heard the title for the first time. It sounded like a mathematics coaching at first but no. It's a good thriller by an Indian which is pretty rare nowdays.

The author did a fantastic job interweaving the tale with drugs, dark web and cryptocurrency. The book is very relevant to the current situation of increasing drug bause.

The book is set within a time frame of a few days, so there is no scene of slow pace. The breakneck speed with which the book proceeds is remarkable. One more thing, the short chapters made the read more interesting and kept the thrill and mystery intact.

The storyline is constructed in such a way that you'll be constantly guessing what will happen and predict something and the next moment, the book will prove you wrong. I got to learn about many technical instruments which are used nowadays in every investigation procedures. It was quite informative in that way.

But, I guess the climax could be better. Don't get me wrong. It was good but it could have been much better. Other than that it's a good read. It can easily be the bridge between two heavy reads.

Rating and Recommendation:

3.5/5. If you are looking for a light yet thrilling book go for this one.

Before the publication of this book, the author agreed to send me a copy of it.  An advanced reading copy. And I cannot tell you how much happy I am for having received it. Thank you for that.

Pi Agency is a self published book, distributed by Cosmos Prints. It is also the first book in the Rashmi Purohit series. With a beautiful cover, an amazing quest to solve, and unimaginable twists on the way, it makes for more than enough of what the average Indian wants to read. [Really, this book has all that a mystery-lover needs!]

When I sat down to read the book, I had only read the blurb. No reviews, no previous works by Singh, nothing. I had no idea what to expect. To be honest, I was sort of praying that it would be a better read than the last book I had read. It wasn't.

Instead, it was more than amazing than not just the last one book, but many books I had read. Calling it better would do no justice to it.

My curiosity began with the title. It isn't the usual title and to be honest, I was a little worried it would delve me into the world of mathematics. [I love Maths!] Now I won't disclose to you what it really means. That's for you to find out when you read the book, which I suggest you do instantly!

Anyway, the book begins with a wealthy businessman facing issues in treating his son's drug addiction. But is it just his addiction that he is dealing with or something more sinister? Not knowing what's right, the reader indulges in seeing this wealthy man hire Rashmi Purohit and her two assistants to find out who this person is.

Unable to reject it, Rashmi accepts it. And that is when the story really unfolds. Many, many incidents happen. From research to assumptions to deceits to attacks to discoveries to assumptions turned right to well, the culprit. Everything happens, everything that makes me love it even more. So much that I ended up reading this 300+ piece in two sittings itself!

There are a lot many things that I like about the book, almost everything, per se. The grammar is top-notch. The writing smooth and beautiful. The pace is amazing. Nothing too slow for a mystery. Nothing that will make the book appear boring. And the story? Damn that story is one of the best! To find out things about Rashmi's past was another great thing. It had been so long since I last read a book that did not involve a love interest that I had almost forgotten the pleasure I received from such books.

Yet, there were two things that I didn't like.

1. Rashmi seemed to be no one less than a superhero. She had good fighting skills, no doubt she needed to learn them in her field of work. But she was a timid lady. According to size, she would definitely be unable to fight four bulky bodyguards on her own! I don't know, it sort of resembled a scene from one of Salman Khan's movies. [You know how they are, right? Bhai always wins!]

2. The ending of the book did not do justice to it. Unless there is something more that is about to come. If that is the case, then I can be nothing but excited about the prospect. Honestly!
Other than that, this was a fabulous book and I'd recommend it to everyone out there. I mean, just give it a try, come on!

My Review - The first novel of the Rashmi Purohhit Mystery Series by Author Neelabh Pratap Singh revolves around a lot of mystery , love and also loads of crimes The Novel Gets around the story of a women named Rashmi Purohit who going against her divorced parents ,opened an investigation agency named PI Agency She hired 2 people as teammates for the agency . This novel will give you goosebumps at several times and also make you feel unsafe at several times. The book is not at all slow paced . The book is set in Delhi and Gurgaon , so we Indians can relate to it soo much and also because the book contains some Hindi (language used in india) words and slangs that you feel funny while reading .The teammates includes a young man named Akshay and a young women named Diksha . Have you ever wondered what and how the Personal Investigators do and work? How are they different from the Police or the other government investigation agencies? This book is the story of a PI - Rashmi Purohit, who always dreamed of CBI, but couldn't clear. And in the pursuit, she started taking up cases where she could run her brains.
With her two employees who are nothing more than amateurs, she takes up a case that was not just challenging; she had to stay alive to solve it!

Uniqueness: The book starts with a rich man - Brajesh Arya, who, like a typical Indian parent, wants his son to be happy. Hiring a detective for investigating his son's drug addiction and the cartels is not something anyone would do. How does someone like Rashmi, who doesn't have the essential resources or experience, crack the cartels' code? The book not just talks about hard-core crime, but also reflects the emotions and personal connections of these characters' everyday life. The storyline is what stands-out.

Predictability: Oh well, I have nothing to say but Hats Off to Neelabh Pratap Singh. The twists and turns were all right where it should be. You won't predict the next step, but they are all revealed at appropriate parts.

Writing Style: I just loved the writing style! The language is simple but has all the right ticks for the emotions, descriptions, surroundings, character detailing. I could feel myself being a part of the book. The subtle traits of human behavior reflect very well, and the storytelling is crisp, yet nothing seems missing.

Cost Worth: The book costs Rs.249 as a paperback and is available in Kindle for Rs.99. For a fantastic thriller, that's a pretty viable deal!

Entertaining: Absolutely entertaining! It was like a web series running in front of my eyes. I love a good thriller, and I look forward to it when Indian Authors do it so well! So many times, I was on edge, wanting to know what was going to happen! My moment was reading the last ten pages and was how the plot unfolds. I would have never thought of a more befitting end.

Verdict: A nail-biting thriller which is hands down the best thriller I have read so far by an Indian Author. I am glad that the author, Neelabh, shared his book with me. Drug cartels, millennial zest, private Investigator, buried family memories, thrill, and suspense make it a treasure and be in my recommendations list.

Addiction is a problem that's very prevalent in our society, Considering that drugs and alcohol are being introduced to kids in Middle School this isn't that surprising. We as a society constantly bombarded with the talks about 'The war on drugs' and addiction.
There are constant conversations about what should and shouldn't be legal and what addiction really means.
Is addiction in the head or it is something a person chooses? Everyone has opinions but no one has any definite answers.

"PI agency" is a private investigation company founded by Rashmi, who couldn't be a CBI officer. Unlike other Agencies, where hundred of people are employed, PI Agency had just to employees.
Sometimes it's not about quantity but quality that matters.
PI Agency had been successfully running since 2 years, comes across the case by affluent business man whose motive was to end the drug scandal which has spoiled his son's life.
The story becomes more curious as the search begins against drug scandal.

Unlike others suspense stories where everything is revealed at the end, PI Agency has narrated every details right from the beginning which makes readers to stay hooked up right from the first page.
I like the way the story is written.
The story has picked up a serious issue that has to be eradicated from our society.
The motive to develop PI Agency was inspiring.
The liked the unity in PI Agency where Rashmi and her employees stay together till the end.
The desire to contribute something to the society through fighting against drug scandal was really strong among characters.
The relationship between Rashmi and her father and the letter was really emotional & motivative, and it concludes the ending of the story.

Language is easy. Narration was clear.
The theme was appreciable.
All the characters are well plotted.
The story has twist and also offers so much to learn to the readers.
I strongly recommend this book to everyone

Pi Agency, this name itself suggest a plot with some sort of thriller, mystery and a lot of drama. Debut book by Neelabh Pratap Singh, and especially for a debut author choosing such a genre which is kind of suspense mystery is not an easy task to pull out, but this story’s plot and blurb proved to stand apart.
Pi Agency revolves around an entrepreneur Brajesh Arya and his drug addict son Rohan. After trying every possible method of curing his son of his drug addiction, he finally finds someone whom he thinks would be able to help his son to get to the root cause of the problem and assist him in every possible way, to get out of this mess. And thus, from here the story begins. Rashmi Purohit, a detective and protagonist of the story does everything in the out of the box manner. So, from here the story becomes arousing and one should read it for sure. Miss Purohit tries her level best to find the culprit of the story. As a debut story, the plot is very intense and with a strong background story.
The only thing which I found little bit confusing was with the characters of the book. The entry of every character, creates a state of discombobulation, and it sounds like, it has been written in a very haphazard manner. One has to read it with utmost concentration to understand the concept. Otherwise, talking about the overall story, it is amazing and if I get some free time, I would like to give it a one more read.
Considering other elements of the novel, there are many characters and the book is written in such a way that it creates curiosity in one’s mind, as to what is going to happen next. The language part is average and basic and one can read it without having any difficulty.
Totally, loved this book from the first page itself to the ending page. Great work done by, Mr. Singh.

Wow. Wow. A female detective in the patriarchal world. Wow.

'Pi Agency' by Neelabh Pratap singh tells the story of Rashmi Purohit, a failed CBI aspirant who now runs a detective agency to fullied her long desired dreams. In a run to make a big name for her agency and herself, Rashmi along with her two companions Akshya and Diksha say yes to the high profile case of a rich business tycoon Brajesh Arya to investigate the drug cartel that has engulfed Brajesh son's with the addiction of drugs. But to solve this case Rashmi got herself into the dark end of the tunnel with no backdoor. And here raises the question "Will she rescue herself?" Also, Beneath this thrilling storyline line there's also so much goes within the book like Rashmi's past. Its wonderful.

While reading this book I loved how author has captured the female rage. Rashmi's characters was written beautifully. One can feel the physicality of her character. Every side characters are also written beautifully justifying the storyline.
A genuinely compelling mystery is hidden inside the novel, several compelling mysteries in fact but it's the strong engaging voice that will really draw readers into dark enchanting world that Rashmi has drag herself into.

The book is intoxicating. I loved it. While I had gone into this story thinking it was going to be packed with suspenseful scenes, the mystery was really in the storytelling. It was unexpected but executed so well. Not only its extremely thrilling and kept me intrugued entire time but I seriously appreciated how accurate the representation of drug cartel was. While some events of story weren't necessarily the most realistic, the many of the characters felt real, like peole who could actually exist, who had authentic thoughts and feelings I could see reflected in actual people. It was a fantastic novel and I would highly recommend it.

Rashmi Purohit, the main character, a woman, is a failed CBI aspirant. After failing many times, she starts her own private agency, Pi Agency. This step of her breaks her father's dream as he wants to see her as a CBI officer.

Her company has only 3 members including her. One is Akshay, an IT engineer who do all works related to technology. Other one is Deeksha, who do all the marketing work online.

As they are start-ups they are not very famous. They are struggling hard to get a very good case.

One day they get a case which can give them a lot of glory if they solve it. But the case is not of their type. It is full of danger yet Rashmi accepts it. The case was given by Mr. Arya whose son is caught into drug addiction. After going through the process of rehab centre many times, he doesn't able to leave his habit of drugs. Mr. Arya wants that Rashmi solves this case and finds out who is indulging teenagers into drug habits.

As the case proceeds or the case solves as Rashmi thinks, she finds herself in a trap and she is on the verge of death. Not only she, Akshay and Deeksha also comes on the verge of death.

What happens to three of them, does the case solve, does she get the glory which she was desiring and to go with several mysterious twist and turns you have to read the book.

Good points :
* The story is fully captivating. It will bind you to itself.
* The pace of story is such as that is required.
* Language is simple so everyone can enjoy the story.
* It has many twists and you will not he bored.
* Picture of Delhi is beautifully created.
* The story ends on another mystery.

Bad points :
* Many grammatical errors.

*** Personally I like the way it is ended on another twist.

A recommended read for crime thriller lovers

Circling around the drug abuse and drug trafficking in Delhi, this crime thriller will keep you hooked and curious. A recommended read for the lovers of the genre, pick this one if you enjoy full-length novels rather than quick-reads.

What I liked about the book:
--> Despite being a crime thriller, it teaches us the importance of family too.
--> Rashmi Purohit's character is so full of flaws that it makes her all the more relatable.
--> How Pi Agency uses common sense and everyday tactics to work out their cases and provide results.
--> The suspense is quite unpredictable and I like how it is so multi-layered, like every time they think they've found the culprit, it turns out there's someone else behind it all. This factor keeps the book engaging till the end.

What I did not like about the book:
--> I wish there was a closure to Akshay and Diskha's stories too, we were left hanging especially about Diksha's predicament.
--> The story loses grip sometimes.

Quotable quotes:
-->Memories are like leeches. If you allow them to stick to you, they will do nothing but suck your blood.
--> Read even if you don't like to read. You will learn things that will prove useful when you least expect them to be.
--> A good habit was difficult to adopt and bad difficult to shun.
-->Dusky is a dubious word devised by fair-skinned people. They don't want to sound racist, so they created another term for people who don't fall into their shade of skin colour.
-->It's amusing how people think of adultery as the only reason for broken marriages.

Introduction
🌹Pi Agency is an another apocryphal mystery-thriller account that deals with one of the gravitating issues among youngsters, that is, drug addiction.

🌹Initially "Pi" at least to me seemed as if this book has something to do with mathematics. But it was not like that,Pi there expresses "private investigation".

Storyline
📖The book opens with the successful entrepreneur and businessman,Brijesh Arya sitting with his son Rohan Arya in a drug rehab centre, for Rohan has been addicted to drugs that has been a trouble for his father.

📖On the other side, the protagonist, Rashmi Purohit,a failed CBI aspirant runs a private investigation agency known as Pi Agency along with her amateur employees,Akshay and Diksha and is in search of some potential client Aryas accosted them and they grabbed the spoon.

📖The story unfolds with this investigation that how an unpredictable criminal was caught by those amateurs.

Highlights
💯Memories are like leeches. If you allow them to stick to you, they will do nothing but suck your blood.

💯Reading is like that swinging lantern that rips through the annals of darkness. It won’t show you your ultimate destination, but will light up the path toward it.

Writing Style
✍️Author,Neelabh Pratap Singh has adjoined a hook in every chapter of the story. It is a long winded book comprising of 8 chapters in 216 pages.

✍️I found the mentioning of Tor chats ,Bitcoin ,dark web, Alphalion , Indie paradise etc. pretty interesting.

🏳️‍🌈The bottom line is it will satiate the hunger of a mystery reader and an information seeker.
Thanks!

This drug case makes them do the toughest tasks by risking own life, drag them to mysterious person named Alphalion to be solved and save Rohan from his clutch. The book title and is best and the story lining is the bestest best. This story really touched my heart and I ahould say this the book gave me the complete new experience and thrill.

The story is about the businessman Brajesh Arya's son who is addicted to drugs.

Firstly I am impressed by the author coz no books I have read till now have raised this topic.

The father was worried about his son and hence he decides to find out the culprit who is damaging the lives of young teenagers.

Rashmi who is very intelligent, daring, and dashing girl wanted to be in CBI but as not all our wishes get completed in life but are remained as wish/dream only.

She was rejected by CBI but she overcame that situation and started her own agency, secret agency called PI AGENCY which solves small issues. She had two more people in her group namely Diksha and akshay.

The main intresting thing is that the way the author has introduced all the characters are amazing. It was out of the box.

How are gonna solve this case? as they know nothing about culprit. What they know is just name 'Alphalion'. The villain of the story, the reason behind all the scence.

I want to thanks to author for giving us such an amazing content. I feel a movie of a short should be made...

The main twist is that the investigators are in danger and anything can happen now

How are they going to escape and solve this mysterious case?

To know how, when and why and mainly what happend grab this book. Worth reading.

Happy reading....

Pi Agency (Rashmi Purohit Book 1)

by Neelabh Pratap Singh

This gripping suspense novel with criminal conspiracy at its essence, is sure to pamper the readers with a constant engagement. It's a chilling crime fiction and an enthralling thriller pertaining to drugs, lethargy and the protagonist as Rashmi Purohit who is a failed CBI aspirant, but initiated her own agency to satisfy her quench of law enforcement.

The author has done a wonderful job in narration and has utilised all his storytelling capacity in crafting a plot that engulfs us into a state of surpriese and twists. Each of the pages has a certain kind of unusual aura to it that makes you want to go on and on. The writing is heavy with reflective elements that upholds the dense web of investment conspiracy. The plot, the climax and the storyline- all seem to be screaming into our ears the shrills of crime, addiction and violence. The plot is set up in the capital of India with the relavance of today's context and one expect such complicated cases involving Bitcoins, intelligence and data of all sorts.

Apart from a few editorial mistakes and refinement in language, the book is has some crazy twists and turns to let the readers delve into its expressions completely!

"The success in this case wouldn’t make her a famous detective overnight, but failure would surely hurt her goals. Losing wasn’t an option."

The book is mind blowing. This book is about analysts and all that stuff which I figure us as a whole love to think about. The characters were depicted so well. What's more, particularly about ladies investigator and their abilities what not. This book is committed to all ladies investigator.📚📜📖

☑️ Brajesh Arya, proprietor of an administration counseling firm in Gurgaon, visits the medication recovery place for as long as 2 years. He had never smoked and smashed at this point he is here for his child Rahul, who is dependent on drug. On the opposite side, Rashmi Purohit, who consistently needed to turn into a CBI Officer, runs her own investigator office called 'Pi office' with Akshay and Dishara. She unravels secrets through her generousness and that has caused her to acknowledge the case that Brajesh brought to her!📚📚☑️☑️

☑️ This is a fiction perused and I for one appreciated perusing this specific book and I was so glad while I was perusing that there are barely any Male Authors who are eager to compose stories where ladies are hero or saint we can say.📖📚📖

☑️ The Author has made a magnificent showing in portrayal and has used all his narrating limit in making a plot that immerses us into a condition of surprise and turns. Every one of the pages has a particular sort of surprising atmosphere to it that makes you need to continue forever. The composing is weighty with intelligent components that maintain the thick trap of venture trick.📚📃📚📜
