I received this ARC from Instafreebie for my honest review. Yáll should know by now, I just can't wait for you to get ahold of this one. Expect betrayal, twists of situation, and cliffhangers.
Tess has come to terms with her mystery man not being a figment of her imagination. She's seen him, talked to him, found out he's married. What is he doing and what is she thinking? There's so much going on it makes her head spin and takes her breath away.

Immediately, I sit down to write the review and once again I wonder; did you read book 1 of Love is War "Fallen"? There are only two options. 1. Yes and you want to make sure book 2 lives up to your expectations or 2. You're reading through the reviews to make sure it's something you're truly interested in. Gah, how can I put into words with enough emphasis that you will fully understand, YOU CAN'T MISS THIS!!! If you've never read one of Shayne Ford's books then you're in for a treat. If you've followed her works, you're going to be so surprised by this series. I've not read anything like this but I'm on the edge of my seat waiting on the conclusion.

WOW! You get nail-biting suspense from beginning to end! The raw fierce hot chemistry is dripping from the pages! I can't get enough of this amazing read! Once you think you know what way the storyline is going it switches gears and sends you reeling with anticipation in a direction you never see coming until it slowly creeps up on you then boom like dynamite your gasping, head shaking, butterflies in your stomach, adrenaline pumping, claws deep burning through the pages needing more loving every bit of it and the effect it has on you! An amazing must read that is twisted, hot, intense, emotionally gripping and impossible to put down that will leave you thirsting for more!👍👍👍👍👍

Man, this is one thrilling, action packed, page turning, spine tingling tale that hooks you from the start and reels you in for the duration. Shayne doesn't hold back, doesn't pull any punches, and she keeps you in a vice that won't let up or give you any kind of reprieve. I feel like I just went through SEAL Training and I'm not a spring chicken anymore. I lost about 4" in my belly alone. Talk about being coiled tight, suspense filled, nerve racking, these characters are so realistic and believable with individual qualities that really brought this read together flawlessly. Shyne pulled us so deep into her imagination and created a world around us until everything else ceases to exist. Complex personalities that hold vast traits that transform to fit the mold for the role she gave each. Armed with endless possibilities the scenes are so vividly detailed that it all comes together for one magnificent backdrop that really makes this tale pop. Playing out in real time as if a whirlwind blowing through like a category 5 hurricane does't keep you on a razors edge. Your heart pounding, adrenaline pumping, nailbiting, on point realism that brings everything crashing in an explosive turn of events. Shayne shows us exactly why she's one of the best authors of her time. Phenomenal job Shayne bringing this read together flawlessly. Thanks for sharing this remarkable read with us.

Shayne Ford is a master at hiding the obvious in plain sight, and this series is no exception. I don't know why this always surprises me...the hints, the unknown messages, the complicated characters and always an element of pain and brokenness that readers hunger for and devour. Perhaps because it hints at our vulnerabilities. Whatever the reason she always delivers and Broken is a good example.

As the season moves into winter, so do relationships...both chilled and barren. The rifts grow wider as the couples draw further apart. Tess seems better, yet there are blank areas in her life and in her mind. She doesn’t tell anyone, just refocuses on her work. And all the while, we hang on for some clarity and insight because it is painful watching her struggle to maintain balance in her life.

As expected, the second book ratchets up the heat as relationships become more complicated. And once again, it ends with another cliffhanger...and it’s a doozy! If you are like me, you will be begging the author to write faster because, we need to exhale! And one thing I am absolutely positive about, the final installment of the series is will be well worth the angst.

An Amazing, Haunting Must Read

This wonderful author sure knows how to keep you guessing in the second book of the Love Is War trilogy. I am on the edge waiting for the last book of this haunting, mysterious read. What is Allan her husband up to? Has Tess been used by Allan all along? Why is Sebastien Rockford, who is married, still watching, following and leaving flowers and video clips for Tess and why? Tess is more confused, jealous and angry, she just wants to get back to whatever normal is! Will Tess be able to get away from Sebastien? What is Jacqueline, Sebastien’s wife involved in? Is Stephan Leon and his nude paintings of Jeraldine Monroe something to do with this maze of intrigue? Sebastien scares and yet fascinates Tess, he still wants her! Tess is in such turmoil, she doesn’t know what she wants anymore! The connection between Sebastien and Tess is palpable and their hunger needs to be fed! Will Sebastien get rid of Allan as he cannot stand the thought of him being with Tess? Is this her destiny or her downfall?
I highly recommend this superb, beautiful read.

Reading this book has me feeling like I just ran a marathon I'm speechless and now I'm gasping for the air that was knocked out of my lungs reading the end of this cliffhanger and waiting for the last book in this series has me dangling on the edge. As the mystery continues so does the mystery man always lurking in the dark watching and waiting to make his move. Even though you'll have some questions answered there's still many more unanswered ones that pull and push you through this book looking and listening for clues into the connection between all the characters in this story. Shayne stories have a way of getting into your soul, body and mind and leaving you knowing that you just read a book like no other and waiting for her next great novel so you can dive in once more. If you are looking for a superb author why wait once you give any of Shayne's books a try you'll become addicted to her written words. Looking forward to book number 3 in this series.

This is book two of three in this series. It is not a standalone story and these books should be read in order. The drama, intensity, heat and suspense continue to rise as Tess continues to struggle with her failing marriage, her undeniable attraction to the mysterious billionaire and the secrets and lies that are swarming around her like angry bees. Armed with knowledge that she's not losing her mind, Tess should be able to relax but instead she walks a tightrope of tension, that is being pulled tighter and tighter and the breaking point is coming. As more layers are peeled away in this well written story and shocking discoveries are made; the wreckage around Tess begins to pile up. As the book ends we are left eagerly awaiting book three to see how it all ends. This is my honest, voluntary review.

In the second book in the series Love is War, Tess is being sucked deeper into the darkness that surrounds Sebastien. Sebastien is playing with Tess like a puppet on a string as he manipulates her heart, mind, emotions and turns her into a mindless mess with one touch. I was totally spellbound and read it in one sitting. It was such an emotional journey and at times I just wanted to shake Tess to wake her. You can't help but be touched in some way. Looking forward to the final book!

Hot and Heavy

It appears that what goes around, comes around in this second volume of the Love Is War series. While Tess' marriage to Allan seems to be falling apart and she's riddled with guilt over her continuing flirtation with Sebastien, Tess slowly discovers that her husband and their marriage was not what she believed it to be. She also believes she learns the answer to the question she has been dwelling about since Sebastien first seemed to appear, "Why Me?". And in none of these situations do the answers to the questions provide any reason for optimism.

So with her marriage failing and her relationship with Sebastien on the rocks, as well, what will Tess be left with? Only time and volume 3 will tell. And inasmuch as my intrigue is completely piqued, I'm off to download and read it now.

This one picks up where the last book left off. Tess knows her mystery man is real but why is he messing with her. A couple of things I do not like in books, 1)when people play games. If you want someone to know something then just tell them. 2)When the reader knows what the secret is but the character does not figure it out until the end of the book. Tess' mystery man keeps sending her videos and flowers and Tess does not know why. She is obsessed with him and he seems obsessed with her but they are both married so she can't figure out why this obsession on both sides. The ending is when things get realized so now I am curious to see where the story goes from here. On to book three.
