Frankenstein was a book club pick, but I opted for the modern English version to be able to read in time. I truly had no idea what the story of Frankenstein was about, and I found myself drawn into the story quickly. There were many emotions as Frankenstein lives out the consequences of becoming a creator of the “fiend”.

While I didn’t prefer the original writing this time, the modern English version was very readable and enjoyable! A great way to interest readers in classic stories.

Great book!! I really appreciated the translation into modern English as I tried to read the original and was having a really hard time comprehending it. Fabulous story and brilliantly written for its time, I’m so glad I was able to really enjoy and understand this classic piece of literature!!

I tried to read the original and had to give up, half because of the prose. This version is much more readable so 5 stars.
