Sweet, clean historical romance during the mining times. A little mystery, a little romance and a few twists and turns. This book is a definite page turner with great characters. Charlotte Albany is from a well to do life but has to go on the run after her fathers passing. She encounters Deputy Everett Myers and enlists his help. This book can be a standalone book, but is a great start to the Hearts of the West books to come.
This story was well written. I enjoyed most of this tale, but I cannot understand how the writers of these books always seem to portray the women as stupid, bumbling idiots and the men as totally fascinated by these bumbling idiots. The "heroine" in this story was worse than usual. I would hate to think what our forefathers would think it they read these stories. Please give them some brains.
One stubborn heroine who needs protection to claim a mine, but can her hero handel her? During their journey to claim the mine they get to know and appreciate each other but she’s going back to New York, what will happen then? This is a fun short story, a great debut for this author. Can’t wait to read the next book in this series.
This book was a good clean romance set in the old West. It was true to what I think it was like back then. Women who were able to learn to stand up for themselves but did not mind having a life partner to share their life.
Heart of Gold is an interesting book to read there's adventure , suspense etc. I couldn't put the book down, I read it in one sitting. Enjoy the read, I did!!!!!!
This sweet Western romance was a cut, fun read. The characters were likable and the ending was surprising and GREAT!The first chapter from Book 2 in the series makes me want to read more of the series!
Damsel in distress story, kept my interest to the end. Awesome writer, no irritating typo errors that I noticed. Would definitely read more from this author. Thank you for a good read!
Good characters and a good story. Good guys and bad guys, love, and a good western story about the West of long ago. My grandparents would have loved to read this book.
I liked this book ! The 2 main characters are both attractive, & likable to start with, both “go getters....”. Good story line & quite a nice read! With a little humor added in.. one you can’t put down ....
Interesting idea but rather unrealistic. Also, they were always alone, unchaperoned and pretending to be married; just didn't seem to fit with how a New York society lady would have been.
This book was full of adventure and excitement from the very first page! Clean romance, love and mystery. Once you start reading you’ll not operant to stop. I’m looking forward to the next book in the series. Great job Kate Marie Clark!
