Librarian note: An older cover for this edition can be found here: 20-Nov-2014.

The first three books in the USA Today bestselling Vampire Awakenings Series.

Book 1, Awakened.

Traumatized by her past, and struggling to move on from it, Sera has spent the past three years of college hiding from the world and content to stay that way. A chance encounter with Liam shatters her sheltered world. Sera is shaken by the strange emotions he arises in her, emotions she never thought she would experience, but she finds herself opening up to him more every day. Harboring a dark and deadly secret of his own, Liam knows he should stay away from Sera as he will only bring her more hurt. However, he finds himself irresistibly drawn to her.

But when their pasts collide with their present, and Liam’s true nature is revealed, will their love for each other be enough, or will they be torn apart forever?

Book 2, Destined.

Terrified of becoming mated like her parents, Isabelle has locked herself away to avoid their fate. She is content to stay sheltered amongst her family as she lives out her days away from the human race, and the world. Despite her determination to remain alone, her world is rocked when a person from her parent’s past arrives at their door, bringing with them the powerful, and stunning vampire Stefan.

Stefan isn't expecting to walk into a nest full of vampires, but he is immediately drawn to the vibrant, often defiant, and willful Isabelle. To his surprise, Isabelle does everything in her power to avoid him, and her desire for him. No matter how hard she tries to fight it though, Isabelle begins to realize that trying to deny her destiny may destroy them both, as some things cannot be stopped. Just as she starts to let her guard down, Stefan’s dark and deadly past catches up to him and threatens to destroy them both.

Book 3, Untamed.

His entire life Ethan has been keeping his more violent urges a secret from his family. They all think he is just antisocial, what they don’t know is that every day he struggles not to give into his growing desire to kill. Looking to escape for a little bit and hoping a change of scenery will help him, he agrees to join Isabelle and Stefan in Bermuda.

What he doesn’t expect is for Emma to walk into his life and change it in ways he never could have anticipated. Just when he finally begins to find some peace in his life, a dangerous threat from Emma’s past arrives. Ethan is willing to do anything to keep Emma safe, even if it means giving into the brutality he’s spent his entire life fighting. Giving in a little though, may mean giving in forever, if he is unable to bring himself back from the darkness that has always enticed him.

***Due to sexual content, violence, and language, this book is recommended for readers 18+ years of age.***

I EFFIN' LOVE BRENDA!!!

There are no words to describe the talent that this author has. I fell in love with her first book Awakened and was so excited when she announced she was going to continue writing in this series. I think a lot of us have been asking for this book and she delivered!!

*DESTINED*
A great sequel to Awakened by Brenda K. Davies. The angst in this book is thrilling and intense. I will never forget the kitchen scene....that is all I will say about that *wink*

You are emotionally drawn to Isabelle's struggle to not want to fall into the same fate as her parents but the pull of the very sexy, and swoon worthy Stefan is irresistible. I mean that man can come over to renovate my house anytime...shirtless of course!

The chemistry between these two is undeniable but Isabelle's independent streak is getting in the way. In more ways than one unfortunately.

I can't wait for book 3!

*UNTAMED*
In one book you will get angst, humor, romance, steam, action and horror. And you will get it in such a manner that will leave you breathless. I read this book all in one sitting and could not put it down. The soonest opportunity I got I locked myself in my room and told the hubby he was responsible for dinner and baths that night. I was not going to be interrupted *wink*

Ethan has issues. Major issues that he has never disclosed to anyone not even his closest friend and sister, Isabelle. Joining his sister and her new husband, Stefan, for a much needed break he is forced to face his darkest secrets. But what is a vacation without temptation.

Emma and her friends are also on a retreat or an escape from the real world after graduating college. They had all agreed a summer without any obligations was a must. But she too has a past that haunts her and hinders her abilities to fully enjoy their plans. Her Friends are hilarious and I love the banter between them all. Jill and Mandy are loveable secondary characters that I didn't expect.

HOLY HEART STOPPING...from the first kiss to the last...I think there was multiple occasions I was holding my breath from the suspense of it all. AND THEN ADD BRIAN!! I was one happy fangirl when he made an appearance, even if it was a short one but I am hoping he gets a book of his own *cough* BRENDA *cough*

This book can be read as a standalone but there are references to past characters in the series. The first of the series is free so you might as well one click and get started and then you won't be able to stop yourself from one clicking the rest of the way through the series!!

The Vampire Awakening Series: Awakened & Destined Box Set by Brenda K. Davies
Genres; Adult (Ish), Paranormal, Romance, Suspense

3.33 Star Average
I have full reviews for each book separately. This will be a condensed version of those reviews.

Awakened (Vampire Awakenings, #1)
3.5 Stars (I read this one twice. 1st time in 2013, 2nd time when I bought this bundle.

I liked it for the most part. I only found a couple of minor editing errors. My biggest problem was the characters maturity levels.....
The romance is mostly sweet and the sex between Liam & Sere is steamy.
There is a bit of suspense, angst, drama, violence...

Destined (Vampire Awakenings, #2)
3 Stars

This one was loaded with repetitious internal thoughts and dialog.
Instead of being better it was worse than book 1.
.....the actions, dialog and wording causes the maturity level to drop drastically. The repetitions are so bad it makes you want to throw the book against the wall. Everything is so drawn out in the most monotonous details that it would make a good sedative.....

Untamed (Vampire Awakenings, #3)
3.5 Stars

This one is definitely the best of the 3 I have read in this series.
It is still overly wordy and repetitive. It is closer to young adult or new adult. If you are a mature 16 (who loves paranormal romance) up to about age 25 or 30, you would probably love these books. All the main characters are in their early to late 20's and you would be able to relate to them better than I .......There is a lot to like in this one.
Both main characters, Ethan & Emma are likable. Ethan more so than Emma.

~~~As for me, I have given all I am willing to give to this series and author, so I won't be continuing any of her other books. They just are not for me.~~~
1 family - 3 very different couples
Awakened - Sera & Liam
Enjoyed this story - loved the soul mates angle to the vampire mythology.
Sera - started off the story very immature and a bit scarred from an event in her past. It took quite a bit of the story for her to finally make even the tiniest bit of character growth. Really didn’t like how so many times she would talk herself into believe Liam - it showed very little backbone - almost like the mating thing made her a zombie to his wishes.
Liam - while quite charming in a typical “frat” boy way - he was a bit too perfect for my tastes. I did however get the sense that her really cared for Sera. Again the mating thingy seemed to be the answer when that’s up against each other in a battle of wills.
What I didn’t get in this story was much world building. I never understood the “rules” the guys talked about - they kept saying Liam came up with them. Seemed like a college guys answer to be able to have one nighters with lots of girls and not have guilt about it. I get that they didn’t want to be “killing machines” - however, I would have enjoyed the story better if they had shown some sorry of emotion about all that had happened to them and if the world had been more defined. - 3.5 stars🌟
Destined - Isabelle & Stephan
Okay, I didn’t like this one as much as the first and here’s a fee reasons why.
First: there was a lot of OW drama - in fact when Isabelle first meets Stephan he is with OW. Later he says he broke it off fairly quickly (thank goodness the author spared us the details of their relationship) - OW doesn’t seem to know or understand that it’s over - and I. Top of that he doesn’t let Isabelle know even when he is getting all kissy and handsy with her - he keeps the fact that he left the OW’s bed because he was so taken with Isabelle.
Secondly: Stephan goes all caveman on Isabelle every other page - to the extent of simply stating his demands as facts and not listening to her. Now, I get that this guy is almost 200 but he doesn’t seem to be able to move himself into this century.
Isabella is in her early 20’s but lives a very sheltered life and as a result is very immature in her actions and reactions in the relationship - did like her love for her family and her willingness to sacrifice for them.
Overall, decent story. Battles with the other vampires seemed over to quickly and very little effort - but good story and I really liked the family and loads of the characters. 3 stars 🌟
Untamed - Emma & Ethan
Loved this one!! Finally we have more of a partnership -
Emma is human when they meet and has spent the past year getting over a bad relationship turned creepy stalker.
Ethan has kept himself away from humans not feeling from them or having relationships with them. Because he feels an untamable mister within him that calls for blood and death.
In the relationship - Ethan actually treats Emma like an equal and thinks of her first. He doesn’t try to push the sex or bonding and such. But thank heavens there are some pretty steamy sexy times and not all are kept in the bedroom!
The battle scenes and danger I this one hit the right note with me as well - Ethan battles Emma’s ex-turned vampire and we get to actually witness the blow by blows!
Also in this one we get some world building as Ethan explains a lot to Emma as the relationship progresses. 5 stars 🌟
First 3 books in this series
What a ride! First story starts off with Sera & Liam, how they met and became what they are. Their story starts the series as they become the parents to 10 purebred vampire children. 10! Holy smokes that's a lot of kids. That's Awakened. Next is Destined where the oldest daughter of Liam & Sera crew (Isabelle) and how her and older brother Ethan avoid being around humans because they fear what their parents have. The mate bond. The mere thought of binding yourself to one person for eternity is overwhelming if not rare for a vampire. However Isabelle and Ethan chose to not tempt it, but Destiny has plans for our reclusive vampires. Stefan is an old vampire almost like an elder and he just so happens to be dating the daughter of Sera's former college best friend Kathleen when Isabelle and him meet and just like Liam & Sera it was automatic connection. It's almost comical how someone wise can be daft at times so as this story concludes it segues into Ethan and his constant battle with bloodlust and fighting his inner demon. Ironically meeting someone on vacation who so happens to be your soulmate is not as farfetched when Destiny is involved. Untamed is Ethan's story. Each story is unique with a different story type. I enjoy the diversity and how enchanting the characters are and having access to their thoughts is important to grasp the full concept of what the story is trying g to say. I highly recommend Liam & Sera's story and the journey of their children. However I hope Brian gets a story. As a friend of Stefan, I'd like to see him find his soulmate especially after losing his wife and children. Everyone deserves love and happiness.
A different look at vampires
I really enjoyed this take on vampires. Made ones and born ones. This series focuses on The Byrne family.
Book 1 features made vampire Liam Byrne and his mate human Sera (short for Serendipity) and their trial and tribulations in realizing what it takes to make a vampire/human relationship work.
Book 2 features Liam and Sera's brood of 11 born vampire children and Liam's 4 college vampire buddies affectionately referred to as The Stooges. When Sera's human college friend shows up with her two very spoiled, lazy daughters and an "old" vampire named Stefan. He finds his mate in Liam and Sera's daughter Isabelle. Book 3 is Isabelle's brother Ethan's turn at love. But like his mother his mate is human and as such born vampire his life is much different than his Dad's
Looking forward to reading the rest of this series
This vampire book bundle are three standalone vampire romances. The characters are intertwined and it would help to read book one first, but I don’t believe it would be essential.
The books don’t repeat themselves, and the stories are all romances so the couples do experience similar challenges, but the author has differentiated them enough.
I found book one to be a bit slow at revealing what the guy was, ie a vampire. I obviously knew nothing about the book before I started reading it. Also, the special powers or differences that make him a vampire were revealed slowly and a bit disjointed. But overall, a good read.
Book 2 and 3 revealed the vamp powers better. By way of The non-vamps within the relationships noticed differences etc.
I will continue to read the next three within the series.
The first book, Awakened, starts the family with the Byrne family. Sera is fighting with her past, Liam, a vampire, is fighting his attraction to her. They cannot stay away from each other tho. They are fated mates.
The second book, Destined, finds their daughter, Isabelle, fighting to not be like her parents and be attached to a fated mate. Then arrives Stefan. She is so drawn to him that she is struggling with everything inside her.
The third book, Untamed, finds their son, Ethan, caught in a battle to save his unrealized fated mate. In Bermuda with Isabelle and Stefan he finds Emma who is running from her violent past.
This is a series that keeps you on the edge and turning page after page in anticipation. My first Paranormal series and I am so hooked on this author. She just has a way to keep you returning.
Wow!
Awesome series! It starts off with Sera and her mate, then goes on to the next generation, their eldest daughter and her mate, and last, their eldest son and his mate. It's funny how each book is about a college student finding their significant other, be it vampire or human. So, it's like a generational vampire college paranormal romance collection. I loved the series and am glad I read them all. I think I'll wait a year or two before re-reading them again, though. I kinda got bored after reading the first 3 books, but I pushed through it anyway. I honestly liked book one the best in this collection. Still, it is pretty entertaining. Book two has its moments that make you go wow, did that just happen? and also make you feel like you've already read that part before. Why repeat it? So go ahead and read them all. They are entertaining, after all.
This bundle includes the first three books of this series. It`s possible to read them as a stand alone, but you`ll enjoy them more if you read them in the right order.
Awakend (#1) is the love story of the Byrne parents (Liam`s Byrne + Serendipity Hill). Destined (#2) and Untamed (#3) is the love story of their children (Isabelle Byrne + Stefan Corelli and Ethan Byrne + Emma Morgan).
I liked how well the stories connected to each other and I loved the big chaotic Byrne family (10 children + Liam`s old college buddies).
This is a series for all of those who have a thing for vampire love stories with a deep sense of family.
Absolutely amazing romance!!
Reading paranormal romance is definitely one of my favorite genres. This series has quickly become my absolute favorite paranormal romance series! Liam and Sera were the perfect couple to begin this series and to create such an amazing and addicting family to read about. Stefan and Isabelle were another unique couple with a story that kept me bound page after page. But Ethan and Emma completely stole my heart in so many ways. I loved reading about their journey. I can't wait to see where the author will go with each member of this amazing and powerful family!
Holy adverbs, Batman!
I read the first two books and didn't get far on the third. Although edited to an acceptable standard, the prose verges on purple, riddled with adverbs, adjectives, expository description, and overblown melodrama. Our Mary Sue heroines are all so, so delicate and lovely and special, juxtaposed against heroes who are tall, dark, and handsome. Character development tends toward two-dimensional rather than layered; secondary characters being flat, almost caricatures. While the copy editing for these books is adequate, they really need a content editor to cut out the unnecessary modifiers, tighten the prose, and convert passive voice to active voice.
The Vampire Awakenings Series Bundle Books 1-3 by Brenda K Davis:
****Awakened #1: I enjoyed this story
Sera/Liam. A little quirky, a bit predictable, and lots of steam. A good read with a nice HEA.
****Destined #2: 3.5 stars
Isabelle (Daughter of Sera/Liam)/Stefan
Soulmates who fight it… until they can’t. Great family And wonderful friends. Some danger, and angst. Isabelle is a likable, strong woman, but made me crazy with her self doubt and temper tantrums…
***Untamed #3: Just ok - 3 stars
Ethan/Emma. This is book 3, and feels like more of the same. An ok read, but I skimmed a lot. Nice HEA.
Interesting Read. No Spoilers.
Day walking Vamp's that don't sparkle in the sun, beating heart's, pregnancy, and the stooges.
Bk2 and 3 was just as good or better then the 1st and I can't wait to get stuck into the next "Vampire Awakening" bundle, that I've already downloaded.
Well done Ms Davies, another well written, page turning interesting, exciting, want to know who's next to fall series.
I'm really hoping to find out more about Brian within the pages of the following book's, or at least his story.
4.5 Star's.
Fab series - easy read - with a bit of a sizzle too!
Great series -just re-read & it kept me coming back for more.
Starts with one vamp & expands in a good way - book 1 is the best but they're all entertaining - some nice variations to the usual vampire history & some good twists in the take - you don't fall for the male vamps but you could certainly spend a few months being "entertained" by them lol...
Author is definitely worth following as she's written some fab series under her name & pseudonym - thanks Brenda! x
What a great start to a book series.
I am so glad I got the first three books at one time. I couldn't read fast enough. Way to many up late at night because I couldn't wait to find out what happened next. I really like how the characters mess together and complement off each other. Just enough heat to fan yourself but not over the top. I bought the the rest of the series that was already released because if they are like the first three I wouldn't be able to put them down.
Intense, action packed, dramatic paranormal romance.
I'm glad I grabbed the beginning of this series in a bundle. While each book has it's own story they also intertwine. I will admit that while I enjoyed each book, my favorite was the first book due to the two main characters being my favorites. It's been a little while since I've gotten my hands on a good vampire series and I truly enjoyed the twists and turns with this one.
Happy reading : )
Alright but domestic violence is termed as love
Hi,
This was a difficult read for me. The storyline is good, the writing is well paced and the character development is good too, but somehow the idea of extreme possessiveness and emotional abuse is shown as love. I wouldn’t want someone young and impressionable to read these novels and think it’s alright for your male partner to abuse you emotionally because they love you like crazy! It’s quiet ikky for me! 🤷🏽‍♀️
Well...
I didn't expect for it to go from liam&sera to the lives of their children but color me intrigued! I loved how Isabelle and Stephen fought against love only to be miserable without it...ethan's story was almost expected although I would love to see what other powers he possesses...I'm almost afraid to read part4...it's so many children I may not get a chance to enjoy any couple for long
Vampire Awakening (books 1-3) Review
This is the best vampire book I have ever read. I learned a lot of things about vampires I didn’t know. Amanda K. Davies writes her stories with so much passion.
The stories are about finding your mate & the different kinds of vampires. This book had me laughing and crying. You will love the Byrne clan. Can’t wait to read the next three books.
Vampires but with a twist
Vampires that can go out in the Sun don't seem to need to earn money but well written and keeps you interested. Be interesting to see if the storyline changes enough in the rest of the series to keep that interest. Each book can be read on it's own which I like
Loved this!
What a great series! I started backwards of course, reading Kindred Series first. But it has been great seeing characters pop up that I know in Kindred! Several times I laughed, I hurt, I cried! But the scene with Ethan and Tristan was painted so vividly I could see it in my minds eye on a movie screen! Good reading!
My Vamp Love
I love vampire books and this series of three doesn’t disappoint. I am eager to read the rest of the series. Each blends into the other but the mixture of the characters is done well. There are some similarities but for me it isn’t enough to take away from a wonderful series.
Best vampire books I think I've ever read!
I absolutely love the first 3 books in the series, and I definitely cannot wait until I can get the rest of the series. Every book had romance, incredibly steamy sex scenes, action, kept my pulse pumping, a bit of mystery, and of course, incredibly sexy and swoon worthy vampires. By far some of the best vampire books I've ever read.
So...
It is always fascinating to delve into the world of vampires, and I like the way Brenda sees their world!
Book 1 set a great foundation for this series. Enjoyed the characters, both good guys/gals and villains!
Book 2, helped me experience lots of emotions, which made it an interesting read.
Book 3, my favorite of the series so far!
Satisfying
Three stories about vampires in one family. The first one is a prequel which introduces the founders of the family. The next two are about 2 of their children. Each story is carefully crafted with skill. The characters are believable. The messes they get into are relatable. The trouble they get into is frightening. And, the ending is satisfying.
Well at first I wasn't sure this would hold my interest. I thought the 1st book was a little long.but I stuck with and enjoyed it very much. Books 2&3 were better. So now I'm pretty sure I'm hooked. Since I'm on book 4 now and plan to get through book 8. 😁
