I had good hopes for this paranormal enemies-to-lovers story but 90 pages in and I find myself disliking both MCs. Jumping ship.

So I've been looking for a while to find a good paranormal that included werewolves and I'm so happy that I found this one. It was probably one of my favorite ones I've read in a while. Kyle and Aiden had some serious chemistry and there were some steamy scenes that had me blushing.

Two reasons why this was not a 5 star read was because Aiden was an a**hole for a bit of the book and I wished it hadn't taken Kyle so long to give in to their relationship. I'm glad I gave this book a chance!

The bitterness and arrogance is just too much for my liking . I had such high hopes for this one but it’s definitely not for me

In a nutshell -

Bitter Omega. Arrogant Alpha who used to bully said Omega when kids. Enemies to lovers. Crazy-ish Shaman spewing wisdom left and right helps the bitter Omega to see the error in his ways.

Do we know when / where this takes place ? Nope. Not at all. They live on an island. Yeah that's pretty much all the info the author gives you. There is basically no sense of time, I mean this could take place 100 yrs ago, since the people in this book seem to have absolutely no technology, hell, the healer doesn't even mention medicine outside of potions and poultices. So yeah, there is no world building happening in this book at all.

As far as the rest of the story goes, the Omega is a bit of an asshole, not exactly likable. The Alpha is just ok. Did I get the feels reading about them ? Not at all. It was a slow burn sort of book, there was one conflict/small fight scene, and that's about it. It's just a lot of "look behind the mask people wear" kind of a story. Just ok, good editing, but still lacking. Not sure where people are getting the whole Mpreg from because yeah, I didn't find that in this book at all, not sure if it was edited out at some point.

Loved it!!
I read book written Noah couple of years back and DNF ! So decided to not follow the author. Today I was looking for shifter genre in KU and like the blurb. It was so unexpected! Loved the way MCs take their journey to know each other even if the fate declare them to be together.
Will definitely read more books by Noah!

This was a very unusual read.

I have read tons of shifter romances but none of them have treated the romance the way this one does and that was so refreshing and oh so good.

We have Kyle and Aidan, who both have there own problems with showcasing their vulnerabilities to others, experience a joining. What makes this even worse is that these two can only be best described as enemies...

The one problem I have with this book is that it takes a long time to introduce Aidan. I get that the author wants us to know Kyle before she introduces Aidan but when you go into a book expecting a romance it is a little disheartening to wait for the second MC to be introduced.

Kyle is an omega, a packless one, his entire pack was killed in a war that still continues to wage on in the borders. Kyle is isolated and his only companions are his best friend Lily who is an optimist through and through and the Shaman Magdiel or Mags who is his crazy mentor.

Mags is amazing, I loved her eccentricities and I loved how she communicates in riddles. But, I low key love how her affection for Kyle comes through crystal clear. I loved all their conversations together.

Aidan returns home a war hero and people can't seem to stop bending over backwards to please him. He is arrogant and snotty or is that just the mask he wears to hide his scars.

The one thing I loved about this book is that it satisfied that enemies criteria that most enemies to lovers books tend to glaze over.

When I describe Kyle and Aidan as enemies it means they hate each others guts and they sure as hell try to ignore the joining for as long as they can before succumbing to its inevitability.

Aidan used to bully Kyle as a child and now he is the most arrogant person in town looking down on everything and everybody. So, yeah experiencing a joining with him is a literal catastrophe for Kyle.

But, they both realise this joining isn't just going to go away and maybe just maybe Gaia might be on to something.

What follows is the most mature exploration of a relationship in a shifter romance I have ever seen. There is no insta-love even though everything does happen on an accelerated timeline but it's all very balanced.

I loved how Kyle and Aidan spend time getting to know each other and realising that falling in love is all about trust and exposing your vulnerabilities to each other.

This was an amazing story to experience just because of how differently it tackles a classic shifter trope.

Awesome couple

This was Noah Harris at his best! I loved the mutual animosity that Kyle and Aiden had for each other at the beginning of this book, and yet how similar they were. I loved that Kyle was more versed in the ways of Gaia, but Aiden accepted them faster. And it was beautiful to see them come together in the end.

I can't wait to see what else comes from this series!

This as Kyle's POV and not really my favourite pov as I like to know BOTH sides of the couples thoughts. I missed Aidan's view and thoughts to connect with them. The hate to love storyline is a okay but there was no apology for Kyle's being bullying in his younger years by Aidan. This includes Mpreg (not my thing, *note to self check reviews)
Kyle 24 yrs was an omega and disliked the Showing event for Alphas and Omegas. He was alone with no family for support only his friend Lily, he was learning to be an apprentice shaman with Mags.
Aidan was an Alpha who'd left the area when his was 18 now he was back. To say Kyle disliked him then was an understatement things may have not changed.

Noah Harris does it again with another great start to a new series. “Bonded by Fate” brings a warrior werewolf and an omega apprentice shaman together by their higher power “Gaia” with a “Joining” which is the same as bonded mates.

Even though Kyle is an omega who has lost much in his 25 years, he does not submit to any Alpha unless he wants to. One might call him cocky, I prefer assertive with an attitude and he will say what is on his mind and gets away with it. It might be because he is the apprentice to the old shaman, Mags.

At the seasons “Showing” this is some party to show off the packs omegas that hope to find their Alpha. For Kyle, this year, his worse nightmare shows up as a new Alpha Leader of a pack to the group gathering who happens to be returning to the pack as a war hero and man who as a young boy tormented Kyle – none other than Aiden.

After Kyle publicly tells off the big Alpha Leader Aiden, which no one has ever spoken to the man in such a rude and assertive way, Aiden follows Kyle when he heads home to drown his anger with alcohol. When the two meet, Kyle tries to turn his back on the Alpha and Aiden grabs Kyle’s arm and a powerful electricity spark happens between them followed by a hunger neither Kyle nor Aiden had ever known with anyone else – the “Joining” had happened – Kyle’s not happy about that.

Aiden thought the battlefield in war was something, but winning Kyle over was a feat that seemed impossible, but the Alpha Leader was determine to have Kyle as his even if it meant on the omega’s terms. Noah brings us through many endearing events as both man struggle with trust issues and trying to make some sort of a relationship they both could live with – after all, a Joining is forever. Will the two ever get to their HEA ending?

Noah Harris’s books have never let me down and this book, for me, deserves more than 5 stars! I highly, highly recommend it! I am voluntarily leaving an honest and unbiased review.

This is a amazing, intriguing book and I thoroughly enjoyed reading each and every page til the end. This book covers: a disagreeable omega werewolf shifter (Kyle) who has a rather cynical outlook on life due to present & past events in his life, a omega female friend (Lily) invites him to come with to a showing/joining but once there he comes into contact with his nemesis, a arrogant alpha (Aiden) Kyle is fed up with the way Aiden spoke to Lily and verbally berates him, Aiden is intrigued by Kyle's reaction and pursues him. What you will find in this wonderful book is: wolf shifters, a shaman, elders, enemies, drama, intrigue, mysticism, friendship, bonded mates, verbal banter, memories, arrogance, confusion, defiance, denial, sarcasm, attractions, intruders, conflict, lust, passion, love and erotic scenes. The story-line and plot are well thought out and written, the pace is steady and not rushed. The characters have needs and desires according to their personality. I would recommend this book to people who like to read a MM shifter romance with a HEA.

Goodbook

This was a deeply emotional book. With the last trauma, abuse, bullying, and loss of family mixed in with how people saw them presently played a big part of who they were and how they acted. It took a lot for me to like Kyle...his personality was just a bit too much for my taste. And it was almost like he didn't like and believed in Gaia at times. He always was so disrespectful to his Lily and Mags when they were being truthful and trying to get him to look at himself truthful and to see things from a different perspective. Sure Aidan was a huge butthole but most Alphas were, but Lily told him ways and actions speak louder than words. When Kyle really let go only then did I like, and that's when he noticed who and what Aidan was. This book was expertly written and stayed true to the storyline. It had exceptionally well developed characters, and was a joy to read .

🐺Can Kyle ever get with the program and accept Aidan's advances?!
April 21, 2018
👬🐺 Well-written frenenemy MM love story with some supportive secondary characters in a basically unfriendly werewolf pack environment for misfit omega Kyle. Lauded visiting alpha Aidan, Kyle's destined mate, still had a lot of mystery clinging to him by story's end, especially regarding his formative childhood years. The tale is told only from Kyle's POV and maybe that's why.

This was not one of my favorites by the author. I've read many of his books and felt this one was a bit more introspection and dialogue-driven than I am used to with his stories. It also felt a bit repetitive at times. There is some action and steam, however, and a rather drawn out but satisfying ending.

I read a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest review.

Kyle, an omega who is angry at the world. Unhappy with his life and the Sept that he lives in, he is a grumpy and sometimes rude man. Aiden is a warrior alpha. Having lived in the same pack as Kyle when young they have a lot of issues and Kyle wants nothing to do with him. Aiden is a jerk, continuing his bullying of Kyle when they meet at the "joining." They find they are fated mates, but the path to love involves more than a simple "I love you" for the two. Anger, bitterness, secrets, violence, death, fighting, denial, loyal friends, a spiritual shaman, being a healer and lastly hot sex and love leads the reader on a path of "can't put the book down." An excellent read and the first book in a series. Enjoy this good read. I voluntarily read and reviewed this ARC book.

A definite enemies to lovers tale. Aidan has a lot to answer for when he returns to the village where he grew up. He's returned looking to increase his pack by selecting suitable omegas. Kyle is a lone wolf and an omega. Kyle was also the victim of Aidan's bullying as they grew up. Kyle refuses to be intimidated any longer and despite being an omega tears the alpha Aidan a new one at a very public festival. When the two come into physical contact later that evening it's apparent that these two very strong willed men are mates. Now they need to get past the walls of their images to find the real person that's hiding behind. This is quite interesting because it diverges in some respects from other werewolf shifter patterns.

Interesting start

Noah was one of the first mlm authors I read and I always felt like this books had engaging charters and plots that were just deep enough to warrant a novel but not so complex that it takes a bunch of chapters to setup the world and characters. This is another one of those cases were I was hooked by the story line within the first through chapters.

The only down fall to the length of Noah’s novels is that things all in or out of place rather quickly. The MC ent from enemies to lovers in the span of about a chapters. Do I tink their story development and secrets from their past have been fully resolved, no way. Interested to see what he future holds for the MCs.

The story is a different kind of paranormal. It took me to maybe another time where villages fought for their lives with their bare hands and went to war. So, Kyle’s childhood tormentor comes back to the village as a hero. Kyle is now an apprentice to the Shaman. Aidan is pack leader, a true Alpha with a but more arrogance than most. Kyle is an omega with spunk who says whatever is on his mind. It is fun to read, fun to find out if Kyle will give in to the Alpha. The characters of Mags and Lily were so sweet. It’s a feelgood book all around.

Enemies to fated bonded mates

Bonded by Fate by Noah Harris is the first book in The Heart's Desire series. It is an enemies to a fated bonded pair romance with hot interactions between a strong Alpha and and independent Omega who need to learn to take an unexpected and unwanted bond with each other and make it into something meaningful and wonderful. I love the characters of Kyle and Aiden and all the supporting cast of characters. The story offers funny dialogue, sweet moments and sexytimes between sexy wolf shifters.

Leaning more toward a 2.5 than a 3 but I can't really identify why it felt a bit shallow. I did like that after being bonded, they eventually decided that they should get to know each other and actually talk and spend time together before giving in to the bond's sexual impulses. But it was more talk than show tbh.

Summary: Kyle's childhood bully is returning to the village as a hero. After Kyle insults him at his welcome party, Aiden goes after him and they find out they're actually bonded. Kyle struggles to accept it before deciding to give it a chance and bonding ensues.

Another great book from Noah Harris with a storyline that pulled me in right from the start. Wonderfully complex characters, Kyle, an omega, and Aiden, an alpha, who have never gotten along and find out they're fated mates. It's not an easy road for them but it's one hell of a ride that will keep you on the edge of your seat! Looking forward to more from this series.

I loved the trope enemies to lovers especially with these two. The way Kyle had then get to know each other seemed a but odd but worked out un the end. My only wish was that it was longer, just when things were changing for the better between them things seemed to go warp speed then just end. Don't get me wrong, I still love it, just wish that endings weren't so rushed and short.
I definitely can't wait to start the next one!!

Thank you for the ARC audio book, I voluntarily give this book an honest review.
Omages Kyle was packless in a world that was run back alphas taken in by the old shaman Mags only only friend Lily.  At the annual meeting for alpha/ Omages. Kyle meets his old childhood bully Aiden. What is worst then his bully being back, finding out that said bully is also your fated mate. Amazing as always the writting of Noah Harris. Can't wait to hear more

I started the book because I just needed some angst with fluff. It was fine for that but even then the story and characters were very weak.
Kyle was just a stereotypical wounded but headstrong omega and Aiden the asshole with a soft core. Aiden being abused as a child was just dropped in the middle but nothing really came from it other than "i forgive you for my mistreatment because aren't you a poor soul". Not my book.

A great paranormal love story!

I really enjoyed reading this book. The book description interested me. The story was just different enough from the usual PNR to hold my interest. There was a dip in the middle of a couple of chapters where I felt the story dragged a little, but I'm glad I stuck with. It was written entirely in Kyle's point of view. He and Aiden have to go through a lot to come to terms with being mated, but it is definitely worth it.
