Office Intrigue Duet #5

Their Ruthless Sadist

Rate this book
By definition, a Sadist is one who receives sexual gratification from causing pain and degradation to another.

That’s me to a T.

I only play with those who understand what it means, those who are willing to indulge my devious desires.

Any masochist who seeks me out knows that if they trespass, I will gladly shatter them and walk away, leaving them for someone else to put back together.

Yet the cowboy and the pretty boy have given themselves to me. They have agreed to play by my rules and there is only one: THERE ARE NO RULES.

I have warned them. I’m not looking for companionship or love. I don’t want to be their friend, their confidante, or their lover. I’m in it for pleasure only. In the form of pain.

I am ruthless.

I am a Sadist.

And I make no excuses for it.

The story is told in the first person, from three alternate perspectives (those of the three MCs).

I loved the first third. Not so much the middle part. And I liked the ending. There is a little too much sex + shower scenes for my taste.

I didn't find Zeke very emphatic. It was evident that there would be jealousy, at least at the beginning of their ménage à trois. He didn't try to know anything about Brax's (aka The Cowboy) and Case's (The Pretty Boy) background, but for their D/s life (and even that, he didn't learn much). He only relied on instinct. And he was fast to brag about how big he was (body and dick), which is stupid. When you stand 6'7", you don't need to mention it repeatedly. It seems to me that it's enough remarkable without it, right?

Steelwhisper told me, "That's not every sub who likes humiliation." Really? Truism, if ever there was one! lolll

All subs, as all human beings, are different. That's why you must discuss with them before doing anything with them. The more you know about them, the better you could plan your scenes. But even so, things could still go awry.

Anyway, there was nothing discussed beforehand here. And that's why I remove 1½ star to this book even though I still found it a fun read.

I am the boogeyman feared yet revered. You want to be humiliated, beaten, bound, or made to suffer in ways you can't even begin to imagine to fly - I'm your man. I fulfill fantasies, no matter how dark or perverted. All I demand is you give me everything, your body, your emotions, your very soul, as in my world, I own you without restrictions for whatever time we are together. Just remember: while I guarantee to break you and bring you to tears, I leave it for others to build you back up.

Case Rhinehart & Braxton McBride are in a committed exclusive relationship though as masochists they haven't been able to fully fulfill their partner's deepest sexual needs. Regardless, they love each other and take advantage of BDSM/kink clubs when needed.

Relocating to Chicago for job advancements, Case (Pretty Boy) and Brax (Cowboy) gain membership in the city's premier club Dichotomy looking to catch the attention of Zeke Lautner, legendary Sadist extraordinaire, though it may be a case of 'be careful what you wish for.'

All bets are off as Master Zeke collars his new fuck toys to play with at will until such time as they bore him at which point they agree to part company.

* * * * *

Warning: this is a raunchy gritty intense m-m-m BDSM erotica read that includes sadist/masochist/pain slut play in edgy (no blood or body fluid) scenes. Some feel the dark tag should apply as the content may push comfort levels. Consider yourself warned.

This is the 5th installment in the "Office Intrigue" series that, for the most part, can be read as a standalone. I base that on the fact I haven't read any of the previous installments yet was able to appreciate and enjoy this installment as an independent story. The select number of references to previous installments were lost on me on the degree of importance as I hadn't read previous books in this series but not to any strong degree.

So much to say and so much to appreciate. The main characters featured are giants: Zeke: six-foot-eight inch height with ink galore on his bald headed body; Case: six-foot-three inches height featuring a military short haircut; & Brax: (can't find his stats but he's comparable with the others). Each with a different career: Zeke, a cyber security genius; Case, a personal trainer/gym manager; Brax, a personal chef on the cusp of opening his own restaurant.

The above basics set the stage that this is a manly man's world that really does compliment the m-m romance scenario premised in this story. Further, the author brings in the BDSM genre with a POSITIVE take on consensual Sadist/masochist wants, needs, and sexual gratification. Not often I find myself smiling as I enjoy the pain and mind f*ckery that Sadists provide. Zeke's toy box is a Sadist's dream which I'm sure will result in an economic boom for the individual toys used in this story.

The romance between the main characters was based on mutual physical pleasure which evolved into emotionalism. That means potential readers should expect frequent BDSM scenes consistent between a Sadist/masochist before the author pulls in any emotional level content. More fun for the reader I say, though, and I really can't believe I'm saying this, the graphic scenes went on so often and frequently that I almost started fast forwarding through individual scenes. Luckily I restrained myself. I share this in the event other readers might feel the same. If that happens to be the case, hang in there as the story does transition into satisfying cerebral content.

Secondary characters. This is when I have to hedge because I haven't read previous installments so I have limited insight into their importance or effect on this story. Jamie (Zeke's sister) is someone I foresee will return in the future which makes me happy.

I'm going to add that the author was successful in drawing me into caring about these fictional characters. I got emotionally vested in them and their individual circumstances. Early in this story it's evident that there is a 'mystery' element going on though it's unclear if the mystery will go anywhere or have any relevance on the overall story. As the story line progressed, this mystery became increasingly meaningful, though again, no idea if it meant more than it should. Did it? Yup, this is when I cite spoiler info potential so can't say more, but, wow, life really does kick one in the ass and spits you out a wringer of emotions.....

My issues with this story, and I'm grasping at straws, deals with the authors' focus on individual relevant topics/scenes. I could have done with less erotica understanding that meant more regarding the 'mystery' content and all surrounding that whole slant. I also didn't feel Case & Brax personal careers were included to give them personal pride and attention. Not all in the world should have revolved around Zeke - oh wait, maybe it did. lol

I absolutely loved this book and loved the characters understanding that Sadist/masochist couples or triads has a limited fan base. This story puts a POSITIVE spin on the darker wants and needs of BDSM lifestyle for those who need that special someone to satisfy their sexual needs despite mainstream norms. Love is love and as long as consensual Iwas but a voyeuristic fan who appreciated the opportunity of viewing this fictional story as events unfolded. Seriously recommend it for fans who have a similar mindset and enjoy serious man on man action.

I’ve read this so many times now I just skim until I get to all my favourite parts.

“Ask anyone here, I don’t play games. When I tell you that I want to be your friend, your confidant, and your lover, I mean every word. I will fuck you when it suits me. I will deny your orgasm when it suits me. I will beat you when it suits me. And I will love you for every second of every single day. Always.”
Still enjoy this HEA.

I really do enjoy this book. I just wish that Zeke's ex bf didn't come across like a cheesy comic-book villain.

Original review
“I wasn’t supposed to want you,” he whispered, the dark tenor of his voice sending shockwaves rippling down my spine. “That wasn’t our deal.”
Oh, Zeke. You sadistic bastard. You 6ft 8, stoic mountain of a man. You with your huge cock and your not giving a fuck attitude, from the prologue that sucked me in, almost right up until the end. Oh, how I loved you.

This was a fun little sadistic road to romance that had me googling all sorts of torture devices I'd never even heard of. But what got me was the slow growth of their relationship. It's not a usual by-the-numbers route to a HEA and that's what I liked. Brax and Case are already together and in love but are both masochists. As such they can't really give each other everything they need, and so they go to clubs and end up meeting Zeke. At first it's just a contract. Zeke just wants to sate his inner sadist without connections and Brax and Case are getting what they wanted...until a little jealousy seeps in and damn near broke my heart. And forces all their hands.

I liked these guys together. They fit. When the ending came I found myself wanting more of them. I liked Zeke when he was a happy sadist.

What I will say is that some of this was a bit cheesy, a bit repetitive, a bit predictable, but from previous books I've read from this author I expected a little of that. The story didn't re-invent the wheel but I still thoroughly enjoyed it. I also haven't read any of the other books in this series and I don't think it mattered.

3.5 for this book. I love Nicole’s books but this one didn’t quite hit the mark for me. I love a good gritty, hard core BDSM book, I love the mind fuck and the intensity and I guess for me this was a little lighter. No doubt Zeke had some harsh scenes for Cowboy & Pretty Boy - certainly detailed but the deeper layer / intensity wasn’t quite there. Still enjoyed this, love Nicole’s MM /M books ❤️

ARC received from author for an honest review

*DO NOT go into this book thinking you are going to get some kind of BDSM light/BDSM for beginners kinds of book - The title of this book says it is going to be much more than that**

it has been a while since I had read a Nicole Edwards book (s0 many books, so little time!) however I have read the past couple of Office Intrigue books and I am right back in this world she has created.

I was intrigued by Zeke, Case and Brax when we saw them all together in Their Famous Dominant, and I was keen as mustard to dive into their story.

Ms Edwards has not disappointed - in fact, Their Ruthless Sadist was more than I expected.

Yes, we know there is BDSM. yes we know it is menage. What I wasn't expecting was the emotions that I felt whilst reading. I should have known that Ms Edwards would take a firm grip around my heart and not let go.

Zeke - oh my heart. He was the big bad wolf, but he was also soft at heart.

Case and Brax - well, I already adored them, but watching their relationship change as the evolve from a duo to a trio - a sexy, hot trio - my heart hurt, my heart hoped.

I laughed, I cried, my glasses fogged up as things got hot, heavy and steamy. Whoops, did I say that last bit out loud??

Ms Edwards took me out of my comfort zone with Their Ruthless Sadist. I had to do some google image searches for some of the toys (can someone please go and clear my browser history)

I can't wait to see what she brings us next.

There are just no words right now for how much I loved this book....I’ll be back soon with my review. 😉💗

Nicole Edwards is one of my favorite authors, I know going into her books I can loose myself for hours and be thankful for the escape. She always delivers a four or five star read for me and this book was no different...well actually it was a bit different it was the first time she wrote a MMM book. Nicole has gifted us with many different sexual mixes but this is the first time she has delved into an all male poly/triad relationship and I have to say she hit the nail on the head with this one.

Zeke, wow! I instantly fell in love with him...OK, let me step back for a minute because I need to say that although I did receive an Advanced Readers Copy of this book from the author, which I am truly grateful for, I purchased the audio book and listened to it instead of reading because the last couple of weeks have been hell and it was easier for me to listen to the book while driving around and doing things then trying to find the time to sit and read which is what I normally do. Now back to Zeke, the narrator Tor Thom had such a gravely voice when portraying him that really worked at bringing an intensity to him that felt palpable. Badass Sadist Zeke really came to life for me with this narrator and truth be told I don't know if anyone else could have done that.

Case and Brax are in a committed relationship but they both knew there was something that Zeke could add that neither of them could bring to the table. Both Case and Brax are Masochist, one enjoys the pain while the other enjoys the humiliation, but neither of them are able to dole out what their partner needs the way Zeke can. Zeke, Case, and Brax are great together! I really enjoyed the three men together they each had something to bring to the table that made the relationship work.

This is hardcore BDSM so if this isn't your cup of tea you may want to pass but I will tell you that you will be missing an amazing book if you do. I recommend this book to those that enjoy reading about BDSM, and Erotic Contemporary Romance, as well as poly/triad relationships, LGBTQ, MMM, well you get the gist of it. Happy Reading!!!

Wow, I loved this book. It’s hot and sexy and full of graphic kink. Nicole Edwards totally hit one right out of the ballpark. Zeek was an incredible character. I don’t usually like books that involve a ménage relationship. It was handled so beautifully that I wanted these three to build a lasting relationship. Please write another book about them.

Schmexy to the nth degree….

Whew…. Yes, this book left me a little breathless. The author warns that this isn’t a light romp into the BDSM world and she was right! Zeke was a sadist and loved nothing more than fulfilling a sub’s desire to be pushed the edge of his tolerance. When he finds two eager participants he looks forward to double the pleasure, until he says it is done… Cole and Brax see in Zeke the one thing their loving relationship is missing, and are brave enough to reach out for it…

Uncomfortable. Jaw-dropping. Boundary smashing. This story is all of that, for sure. What it also is, is a love story. Unconventional. Deep. Moving. So many words to describe a courtship that is disguised beneath protocol and orders given and carried out. And it was a love story – sweet, no holds barred, with stumbles and misses, and revelations and sharing that can’t help but bring feelings into the fray. I loved how a loving couple found hearts big enough to embrace one more, as they all found what their hearts yearned for.

Deliciously painful….

Oh my! I love how fearless this author is with her writing. I love it when an author can take me out of my comfort zone and yet make me comfortable while doing it. LOL, if that makes any sense.

Their Ruthless Sadist is a dark but beautifully written story of three men with different past that has shaped them into who they are today, who all have different needs / desires yet they come together and complete each other so perfectly.
Not only did I fall in love with these men, but Jamie
Zeke’s baby sister also stole my heart. I cannot wait for her story.

A definite must read !

Wow, thanks for another great book Nicole! No one can write MM or MMM like you! It was hot of course, and had depth to the characters that I love. When a book can be more than just some great sexy times, it is so much better! Zeke was a hard *ss on the outside, he was a sadist, but he was a softy inside, even though no one really got to see that besides his sister and his dog - and who doesn't want a dog like Tank! I think I was almost more in love with Tank than Zeke! LOL! Brax and Case had a loving relationship that was just missing something. They could not give each other everything that that the other was craving... and in comes Zeke! He was everything that their relationship with each other was missing, and that is why it worked. It took Zeke a while to come around, but when he finally did! Wow! I hope that we get to read about Zeke's sister Jamie since she is starting to dabble in the kinky scene. Also, I loved how we got glimpses of past characters in the series! Thanks for another fantastic book Nicole! That is why you continue to be my favorite author!

Wow! This series just keeps getting better. Zeke is first mentioned in Their Famous Dominant, and so are Case and Brax. Let me tell you Zeke is a totally different animal in this book! The title is perfect, because Zeke doesn't play when it comes to being a Sadist. There's a reputation about him, and it's well-earned. But, of course there's more to Zeke than his infamous persona.

Case and Brax have their own baggage, and it's not all sunshine and roses when they meet Zeke. There's just something about him they can't seem to stay away from. These guys are all complicated in different ways, yet how they interact will have your heart racing, emotions all over the place, and you will definitely feel some heat below the equator--wink, wink!

This was a beautifully told story about a lot of things that I don't want to spoil for you. I'm still hungover a bit from it. Nicole does it again, and I can't wait for the next one!

Their Ruthless Sadist is the fifth book in the Office Intrigue series. It can be read as standalone. I actually didn’t read the first three books the series but I did meet Zeke, Brax, and Case in Their Famous Dominant. As soon as Zeke met Brax and Case as a couple I knew their was going to be a story. But holy fuck.

Zeke is a Sadist. One who gave pleasure in the form of pain. He didn’t commit. He didn’t even deal with the aftercare. He didn’t care about his fuck toys’ pasts. He broke them. He humiliated them. Then he walked away. Their wasn’t a masochist who could truly handle him. The beast inside. The Ruthless Sadist. Maybe there wasn’t one but maybe there was two...

Brax and Case have been a loving couple for two years. They are both masochists but they somehow make it work. Both being members of the club has its perks. They have their kinks. Ones the other couldn’t satisfy but they always went home together. Talk. Fuck. Cuddle. What they haven’t found at the club is a Sadist who could bring them to subspace. That is until one night Zeke brought Case there.

The Sadist. The Cowboy. The Pretty Boy. These three make a contract. Brax and Case are looking for pleasure. Zeke wants to give it to them in the form of pain. The ultimate pain. He wants to break them. He sees the love they have for each other. He doesn’t want that. He wants their submission. Until he is done with them. He is in control. Always. Can they handle the big bad wolf? Will his fuck boys’ relationship survive?

I was warned this story was not going to be easy. That warning made me want it even more. I do crave dark reads after-all. It was everything I expected and more. It is seriously one of the hottest fucking books I have ever read. I needed a nap after I finished since these men wore me out. In the best ways.

Overall...it was sexy, intriguing, and ruthless. It was one mind fuck of a ride. And what a ride it was. I have never been so hot and bothered. At the same time, I even teared up! I loved these men.

Quotes:

Some people craved sugar. I craved doling out pain.

“Whatever you’re willing to give me, Zeke.”
“No matter how filthy? How disgusting? Because, little boy, my mind knows no bounds. My fantasies scare the devil himself.”

“Does he enjoy that? Gagging you?”
Case waved her off. “A masochist never tells.”

Sometimes when I listen to a book, I find that it takes me completely out of my comfort zone, yet intrigues me so much that I cannot stop listening. When I started this one, I knew Zeke was a gay man and a sadist. What I didn't know was all the layers there were to him. This story is a love story like no other that I have listened to. When Case and Brax come into his life, it is evident that they just may be the missing pieces to his puzzle of a life. Starting out as a sadist/masochist relationship with no strings, this trio is the perfect match. Each brings something for all to enjoy. But is this enough to make them last? I loved getting to know these three. Each one has their own story, has love to share and the hunger to be together. The trick is getting through the armor to make the relationship work. With toys I have never heard of, positions of pain and erotic scenes that scorched my ears, it was entertaining, but the depth of the men is what drew me into the story. And we get a brief look at Zeke's sister, whom I thought was a great addition, adding a little common sense and softness to the story. This book definitely is one of my favorite Nicole Edwards stories, and I am hoping these characters continue in the series.

Tor Thom out does himself in this book. His narration is incredible. Voicing all three main characters with ease of transition makes the story flow, but the main thing is that each voice suits the character. We have met all three previously, their voices remain consistent. I loved all the voices, but his voice for Zeke really stayed with me. Zeke needed a strong, alpha, rough yet hint of vulnerability in his voice and Tor nailed it. With a few cameo women voices by Charley Ongel, this team again makes an incredible listen.

Well Damnnn...I am a huge Nicole Edwards fan!!! Y'all her books make me BLUSH!! They are always sooo freaking good and sooo freaking yummy and ohhh sooo freaking HAWT!!!!

Make sure you read her disclaimer in the front of the book. This is a darker book for Nicole Edwards, but if you are like me, those disclaimers just make me want to one click even more!!! Sooo you have been warned!!! And if you are curious, come hop on this Zeke train, I promise you will not want to get off!!! Well not until Zeke allows you too anyways!!! lol

I have been seeing Their Ruthless Sadist all over social media and when it landed on my kindle I sooo did the happy dance. And boyyy do you need to make sure you have a few things handy before reading...lol You will need to have a fire extinguisher handy for those Kindles, cuz they will definitely spontaneously combust!!! Your air conditioner will need to be on it's lowest setting so you will be comfortable while reading..LMAO Annnd you will need a pair of those ShamWow panties if you know what I mean..lol (yes I borrowed that comment from one of my book besties-Laura Lee!!haha)

From chapter 1 I was hooked line and sinker!!! It was hawt HAWT!!! Edwards will work you up in a freenzie and make you want to beg her for a release, you just wait and see!!! haha

Zeke was such a bad ass Alpha Male!!! He is definitely the Ruthless Sadist and he WILL push you to your limits and there WILL BE NO aftercare from him.

Yess ladies, you will have to go one click on release day and get lost in everything Master Zeke!!!

This book took me completely out of my comfort zone, it's not for the feint hearted. It's full on S&M with a great love story.

I absolutely loved Zeke in the previous book and I'm so happy to say that I thoroughly enjoyed this book. He's a really intriguing character with so much depth to his personality. He's definitely the most sensitive of the three.

Brax and Case have been in a relationship for a few years so there in perfect sync to each other. While both masochists they have very different needs. They've both been missing something to really complete them and up to this point haven't been able to find the right person. Meeting Zeke opens their world up to a whole new level of kink.

I don't have a huge amount of experience reading this level of S&M as it's never been of that much interest so I found that side of the story fascinating. It's really well done and really well explained, at no point did I not understand what was going on or the reasons why. The dynamic between all three was quite complex and not without its issues at the beginning. I think if it was all peachy from the start it wouldn't of been believable.

The story is revetting, the POV changes often so your never really left wondering what one of them was ever thinking. They all bring something different to the table and all as strong as each other. I think my favourite parts were when Brax and Case stepped up and showed how strong they can be, this gave Zeke a chance to be vulnerable without losing this badass status.

The hotness factor is through the roof, there's no shortage of sexy times and each scene gets better and better.

Their Ruthless Sadist is book five in the Office Intrigue series by the fabulous and talented Nicole Edwards. We met Zeke, Case and Brax in Their Famous Dominant and I knew this story was going to blow me away. Yes, Zeke is a Sadist and Case and Brax are masochists, but it's so much more than that. These characters have such depth and meaning and I loved watching them come together and figure out how to handle what was happening to them. Brax and Case are in a committed relationship full of love and trust. Zeke doesn't want anything from them, but their pain and their submission. He's a ruthless bastard but he's also a man. And we get to see glimpses of a smile, and real emotion. It was beautiful. Brax is a lover not a fighter. He cares so deeply that is scares him. Case has a haunted past, but he's carefree and laid back. Can they figure out that there's more to their arrangement than just Dom/submissive? Will they be able to let go and just feel before it's too late? I loved this story! It was hot and sexy and dark, but there was so much more to these men than meets the eye. The three of them are so different, but that's what makes them work. They just click into place like a puzzle and it was beautiful to watch! I can't wait for Edge's story. Wow.

I peered back at the cowboy over my shoulder. "You don't k now when to quit, do you?
"Actually, no. That's not in my repertoire of skills. I do make a mean pasta e fagioli though."

These two were perfect for me. They were the best of everything in two unique packages.

5 Star Review Their Ruthless Sadist (Office Intrigue #) by Nicole Edwards

The 5th instalment in the Office Intrigue series and wow, this was a book that could and on occasion did take me out of my comfort zone. Be prepared this is a MMM story and as the title states “Sadist” this is not a light and breezy look at BDSM. This is a whole lot more; you have been warned.

Zeke, where do I start? From the first moment he was mentioned in this series I just knew that the story he had to tell would be intense and amazing and as the title states he is a sadist through and through. I fell for Zeke in Their Famous Dominant and I just love the relationship he has with his dog Tank as well.

I was also intrigued by Case and Brax from the start, their relationship and the baggage that they bring to it. I don’t think even they knew what was truly missing in their relationship until Zeke.
When Zeke is added to the mix the story Nicole Edwards weaved became so much more and the intensity is elevated . I was totally hooked from the begging to the end.

I am not going into detail with this review because I believe you will get more enjoyment if you go in “blind”. Their Ruthless Sadist is a smoking hot, hardcore book full of emotions that will leave you wanting more.

Zeke is the legendary Sadist at Club Dichotomy. All of the subs want to play with him but Zeke knows his ruthlessness will just break them. He likes to play with no commitment or safe words. But when his friend plays matchmaker, Brax and Case (Cowboy and Pretty Boy) end up on his radar. Zeke warns the two that he doesn’t do commitments or love. But will the two masochists find a way past Zeke’s rules and into his heart?

“I was primal in nature, a beast to the core. I had a deep desire to destroy, but not out of anger. My deviously kinky brain should come with a warning label, something to let trespassers know I would gladly shatter them and walk away, leaving them for someone else to put back together.”

I was surprised how much I really loved Zeke, Brax and Case. They wormed their way into my heart a lot deeper than I thought. I really liked all these three guys from the previous book and needed to know how their story would go. Zeke can really bring the pain and sometimes I felt bad for Brax who seemed the most sensitive of the three. Cowboy is loyal and feels things just a tad deeper with his heart on his sleeve. And Zeke really threw me for a loop as well with everything he was holding onto from his past. I never knew how strongly I would care for the man who treats his dog Tank like gold and his playthings like dogs. But then you have Case who kept everything hidden deep down inside. He needed Zeke to bring the pain to help him cleanse his soul. Such a completely touching story about three men who together became whole.

BDSM books are sometimes my jam and if you like M/M or M/M/M…this one might be the one for you! Occasionally I like my books just south of kinky and although there is a warning for the sadism/masochism in this book, it didn’t even begin to push my boundaries. But for sensitive readers with triggers, this may be one you want to avoid.

OMG, Where to begin... This book just blew me away. I was fully prepared for the BDSM and a m/m/m story. What I was so thrilled about was the depth of the characters. I never doubt Nicole Edwards, I have read all her books, but this one just took it home. Zeke, a man's man (literally) and more. A sadist to the core, no getting emotional with his 'boys'. He had a story behind the sadist exterior. His new playthings, Brax and Case, are in love with each other. Their relationship is strong but being two masochists there was just one thing they could not give each other and Zeke could provide that. Zeke, Brax and Case are outstanding characters, so in depth, each with a story behind the man. Following their story was an emotion investment that draws you in so much you feel what they feel. The BDSM scenes are not for everyone but the love story is. Such passion and getting inside the heads of the characters was a thrill. Loved this book. Now for Zeke's sister to get her book.

I don't even know where to begin to tell you how much I loved this book. It wasn't just a hot and sexy story. It was a very emotional one, I felt all the emotions from anger to utter happiness. Nicole has a way of writing that pulls you in and just won't let you go until you are finished. Each character was unique in their own way. I really didn't think I was going to love Zeke as much as did, but he was amazing and so much more than you think. Brax and Case were just as amazing, they each brought their own depth to the story. Watching all of them interact together was beyond good, it was just perfect. I truly loved this book and I can't wait for more from Nicole.

In Their Ruthless Sadist we once again meet Zeke, Case and Brax all of whom we previously met within the pages of Their Famous Dominant.

Zeke is a well known dominant sadist who has recently joined the staff at Chatter PR Global and a member of Dichotomy, commonly known as The Club.

Case and Brax have moved to take up new jobs within the same organisation. As submissive masochists they also have memberships to The Club.

However, irrespective of the labels that each of the main characters have, and what they need to fulfil them sexually, this is essentially a story of love and acceptance. Throw in a whole lot of really hot sex and we have another fabulous novel from the pen of Nicole Edwards.

But any reader familiar with works by this author will know that nothing that she writes is ever quite as simple as that.

She has the uncanny ability to write love stories that will simultaneously break your heart and have you dance in the street in celebration, and this is no exception!

It is with the greatest hope that the story of Master Edge and Jamie is the next in this series by the talented Nicole Edwards.

What an intense book. I loved Zeke in the previous books and was happy to see him get his own. His character doesn't let anyone in, he doesn't do long term. But when he meets Brax and Chase his walls start to crumble. I loved seeing the softer, caring side of Zeke. Well done Nicole.

Their Ruthless Sadist is a deep, hot, forbidden, intense and erotic exploration of love, life and sexuality. The storyline is well-written and captivating. The characters are intriguing and to see the relationship between Zeke, Brax and Case develop throughout the story was great. This is a stay-up-all-night-and-read-just-one-more-page-book!

I volunteered to review an advance reader copy of this book.

Goodness Gracious this book was like no other. As a reader that loves just about everything that is written by Nicole Edwards I was certainly excited for this book but nothing could have prepared me for this story. This book was like no other, and it definitely was not your typical m/m/m story, and let me not get started on the “Sadist” part of the entire premise. The story that allows for Zeke, a manly man to fall in love with the pretty boy and the cowboy is so deep that you too can fall in love with these characters. As with all her characters, Nicole has given us an in depth development of each character and then totally linked all three characters to make them an entire unit; a unit in which you can feel the love between them. Who doesn’t love a feel good story that just makes you smile, and while the title of this book will not lead you to believe that you will smile just know that this story will not only make you smile but at some points cause you to laugh out loud. This is a prime example of don’t judge a book by its cover because at the end of the day it’s the story that matters. Thank you again Nicole for allowing me to step out of my comfort zone by reading this book, and thank you, thank you, thank you, for giving me a love story with three very unlikely characters. Awesome job as usual- you never disappoint.

There are so many things I want to say about this story. There were also so many feelings I had going into this story. One of them was fear. But before I scare you off from finishing this review and dismissing this book, I have to say I loved this story and fell in love with the characters.

Now, so you can make an informed choice on if this is a book for you, I’ll tell you about my fears going in. I don’t think it’s a secret that Nicole Edwards is a huge favorite of mine. I didn’t want that to change by reading a book of hers that may be out of my realm of comfort. To be honest, there were plenty of warnings given when this book was offered as an ARC about the nature of the story. I’ve made it clear in past reviews that I cannot stand someone giving a book a bad review just because they don’t like the genre. I’m not particularly fond of sadomasochism. I also have some kind of mental block when it comes to men being subs (and, although it doesn’t pertain to this book, women being doms). I’m not sure why that is. It doesn’t bother me in a way that I think it’s “wrong”…to each his own. Do that which feels right to you as long as you’re with a willing partner and all of that. But it’s just something I have a hard time picturing in my mind. I also know that I’m quite good (if I do say so myself) at being objective. I felt I could judge this book on its story and characters regardless of their kinks. Plus, how can I skip a book by this author when I’ve read everything else she’s written? Not to mention, we’ve met all of these characters before and I was already half in love with Zeke from Their Famous Dominant.

Imagine my surprise when I not only fell fully in love with Zeke, Case, and Brax and their story, but also fell in love with this book overall. The shift in Zeke through the story was so subtle that even Case aka the Pretty Boy and Brax aka the Cowboy didn’t fully realize the extent of his change until later. From my disclaimer at the beginning, I’m obviously not in the sadomasochism scene. I can’t attest to this book’s authenticity or the feelings of the three characters. But it makes sense that a sadist has another side. After all, he/she will go out to their job and visit with their family and have holidays with loved ones just like everyone else. So of course he/she could fall in love and be hurt just like everyone else. I don’t think this is a spoiler since, if you read the last book, you know Zeke has a softer side he tries to hide. The same can be said for a masochist. They don’t go along in their life being walked all over by everyone just because in their personal/sexual life they crave pain and/or humiliation. The author did such a beautiful job of showing all sides to these characters and humanizing them to the reader.

The connection between Brax and Case is magnificent. The way they love and care for one another is hard to find. When they enter into their agreement with Zeke, they seem to care more about if the other one is going to get what is needed and if it’s truly what the other wants than if their own wants and needs will be fulfilled. Any relationship has jealousy, but when you make it a relationship of three that just adds more opportunity for that jealousy to pop up. I’m happy the author didn’t ignore this fact even though all parties went into the arrangement with their eyes wide open.

Zeke, Case, and Brax were all so terrified by the feelings their agreement was bringing to light in all of them (although they all kept those feelings to themselves for the most part) that they all kept waiting for the other shoe to drop. That is where having a 3rd in a relationship can come in handy. Every time one of them would start thinking it was time to move on, another of them would refuse to think it was time. That was a good thing since that feeling of needing to move on always, absolutely always, came from fear and nothing else.

I’m getting long-winded and do not want to give any spoilers, so I hope you just get the main point that I highly recommend this book. If you read erotica but tend to steer clear of any of the sadism stories, don’t let that scare you off of this one. Nicole Edwards handles it all expertly and at no point was I put off by the story. A little uncomfortable at times, especially since I’m extremely claustrophobic, but nothing that took me out of the story or turned me off of continuing to read. Plus, there’s the added bonus of getting to know Zeke’s sister. I’m not going to give anything away about her or where her story seems to be heading. Let’s just say if you’ve been reading this series I think you’ll want to see what she’s up to…and with who.

As soon as I opened my email about Nicole Edwards’ next release, Their Ruthless Sadist, and read the note about its darker and hardcore content, I was eager to enter a new area of the BDSM world that I’m not too familiar with…I was eager to see if I would be uncomfortable by a lifestyle that, to some, seems barbaric, and I was beyond eager to see and understand why Zeke, Brax, and Case entered into this type of D/s arrangement.

I wouldn’t say that Zeke’s kinky proclivities as a Sadist bothered me; in fact, as Zeke and his fuck boys took me deeper into this particular brand of pleasurable pain, I needed all the details…all the ins and outs of what each participant gets out of Sadomasochism, and what particularly interested me was understanding Zeke’s mentality…his personality and getting the big picture of Zeke, the man and the sadist.

From the onset, it’s clear that Zeke LIVES and BREATHES his lifestyle; it gives him control and direction, and it allows him, it seems, to not give a shit about anyone else’s feelings, to play by his rules, which means no rules, and to keep his distance from his submissives by seeing them as toys and nothing more. But the further into the story I got, the more I could see that there are reasons for Zeke’s standoffish personality and the way he handles his playthings, and that’s what I needed to wrap my mind around…to see beneath this ornery and controlling facade and understand Zeke’s true nature - the one beyond his sadistic desires.

When Zeke starts his play with Brax, the cowboy, and Case, the pretty boy, it’s unique in the sense that Brax and Case share a history and strong feelings for each other, but both need something more than the other person can give, and that’s where Zeke comes into the mix, but there are variables to consider…issues that need to be addressed and the fact that Zeke is so closed off from anything other than their playtime and Brax and Case submitting to his will whenever and wherever he chooses.

The dynamics at play among these three men is quite interesting, and as their connection grows and strong feelings begin to develop, Brax and Case must figure out how to progress with their surly Sadist because despite Zeke’s determination to keep these two men at an arm’s length, they’ve gotten under his skin, so they need to prove to Zeke that they can give him and them what they need - the pleasure, the pain, the dominance, the control - but they can also give Zeke the love and the companionship that he’ll never admit to needing.

Their Ruthless Sadist is definitely a unique read, but that’s exactly why I enjoyed it so much; I like being introduced to relationships with new dynamics - ones that I haven’t read a lot about and ones that stretch my mind when it comes to how everything plays out among the main characters, and that is definitely what Nicole Edwards’ newest book allowed me to do.
