Jane and her family are going about business as usual, as much as they ever do, when the unthinkable happens: there's a murder in Shimmerfield. Jane quickly learns that not all is as it seems, and even her own family is keeping secrets.
Hello! I'm the author of the Witch Way to Mintwood series and the Spooky Business series! I live in New England and love it. I survive the winter by layering, good-natured complaining, and more layering. In case you were wondering. Hearing from readers is always lovely, so come visit me here:
This was another kind of boring one but still not bad! Points off for bad editing too.
I love every character in this series, even Lizzie, because we all know someone like her. Lol. Cookie has to be one of my all time favorites characters now. She is hilarious in every situation!
I don't really have much to say about this book. The murder and killer were meh. I do love all the crazy antics though. I love that Jane is determined to investigate and that Grant is accepting of it. 🖤
This series never disappoints me. This episode has adventure, puzzles, and a touch of romance.
Jane Garbo, Witch and family member of a Haunted House feature, finds herself in the midst of a murder yet again. First she has no intentions on investigating the crime from the near by town of Shimmerfield, but when she learns the victim might have been a werewolf...well, she needs to find the truth.
Meanwhile, someone is attacking her family's Haunted House. Are they safe, or will Jane and her cousins have to save the day?
This story is a light-hearted mystery and as you smile, you also try to figure out exactly what is going on. Fun entertainment!
A good read but not as good as the others. Compared to the rest of the book, the ending was flat and lacklustre. When the girls hear about the death in the village they set out to investigate. Why did no one ever see him? What was the howling in the woods? Plus recruitment has been down and they bring some of Down Below to help out. Will Grant come back for another date? The plot was so, so but the characters were as good as ever. Hope the next book is better.
Spooky Skeleton (Jane Garbo Mysteries Book 5) was written by Addison Creek. Jane keeps learning more about her family. Her relationship with Grant keeps improving. Her role in her family continues to grow since she is now representing them Down Below. Overall, this is one of the best novels in the series.
When the description included a 'howling', I immediately thought of a werewolf and howl cut off when it was said it was bad news. Still, the story was well developed and the characters were true to themselves so the story inched forward. Now the connection between Grant and Jane is much clearer and we should be able to move on from here. Here we go!
Good enough to keep me reading. Loved the grandmother witch. The stories are somewhat disjointed. For example in a few paragraphs in book three, Jane discovers where the super bad guys are hiding. No further mention until book five. What? And the main character's romance moves forward at the speed of a glacier. I kept reading because Grandma Cookie is such a hoot.
I adore these books! Fantastic writing, awesome characters, new and enjoyable stories, every time! Jane Garbo and her whole family are just plain fun to read!
This is a well written and has well developed characters. The story is catching and with the strong characters makes for a very enjoyable read. Great Reading Everyone!
A murder involving witches and other supernatural beings.
A whimsical mystery with a family of witches who run a haunted house attraction. Jane is a witch detective. She investigates a murder. Jane must deal with her eccentric family, and supernatural beings who live with them. She also dates Grant, His Majesty of Magic. I thought the mystery itself was a little week, but overall, I enjoyed the humor, the variety of characters, and the complexities of supernatural relationships.
