I sell the concept of love. But don’t believe in it. Until her. Although I created the world’s most popular dating app, I secretly don’t believe in love. In fact, I think people who do are fairy tale chasing fools. And soulmates? Only idiots would buy into that concept.
When my secret gets out, my professional life and my billion dollar company are in jeopardy. In a desperate move, I agree to let a matchmaker help repair my image and find the perfect woman for me.
But what if soulmates are real? And mine is the feisty matchmaker herself?
Can I escape my fear and claim my soulmate? Or will I lose her? Lose everything?

Since she was a young college girl reading and writing romance was what she loved the most and she enjoys entertaining her fans through her books.
Living in Miami, she likes to sit by the pool with her laptop and write her next hot romance. However, when she is not reading or writing romance, she also enjoys being with her beautiful family.
Tanner, billionaire dating app developer, made cynical comments after a panel discussion (on a still open mic) about love and could an app make someone less boring? Tanner's PR man Jasper arranged for the H to find dates via a matchmaking svc to restore his rep. Gemma filled in for her Grandma to do the initial matchmaking interview. She misunderstood his preference and thought he wanted superficial, empty-headed, thin, women who were blonde. He liked smart, attractive blondes who could hold a convo. He made clear the 3 separate dates Gemma arranged for him lacked 'chemistry' (which he thought she had in spades).
Some observations--- 1) Sexy Tanner was too guarded about love. He seemed to prefer friends-with-benefits Gemma. Gemma felt guilty about (only) kissing 2 men in the same week! 2) Tanner was too indecisive toward his company's 'mole.' 3) Gemma had an interview with a non-profit serving developmentally disabled consumers. The author wrongly called them"customers." 4) Grandma stole the show with her wit and wisdom. +++
I kind of couldn’t decide how to rate this one. So, I’m giving it 4.5 stars. There was just something missing I just needed more. More what? I don’t know. Maybe for Tanner to have more angst in his life. It might have been that their romance happened too fast also; especially if someone was so afraid of commitment. It did have excellent main characters, though, both being caring and considerate. Loyal. Funny. And, supportive. Gemma needed to work on her confidence, though, after having been hurt in the past. And, Tanner needed to believe in love again as he experienced a heartbreaking act of deception in the past as well. It consisted of a very unique storyline that totally gets the reader hooked from the first page turned. A cast of intriguing supporting characters adds excitement to the love story. And, of course, the deceitful villain just causing unwanted havoc but in the end gets his due. It might be my first Jessica Blake read, but it won’t be my last...
I really enjoyed Claiming my Soulmate. From the beginning I was captivated. From Jump I knew Tanner was going to have a hard time because he was talking crap about his own app and I knew before it happened that someone was listening in and it was going to be all bad. And I was right. But from there the book was kind of unpredictable as far the motives of the characters went and how things were going to end.
I loved Gemma because she was always hoping for the best despite her misgivings about abandonment. She still believed in love cold heartedly and that is so hard as we saw in Tanner after his big heart break Looloo Kickstand, Haha. Yeah Tanner was right I will never be able to say her name right again because Looloo Kickstand was just so fitting and so much better. I absolutely love Josie, Gemma’s Nonna, she was funny and witty, and telling which most people her age are. She was old enough to not care what people thought of her and where Gemma couldn’t really be mad or do anything when Josie embarrassed Gemma.
In the end Tanner and Gemm were good together. Just enough different about them to make their relationship special and provide that “chemistry” Tanner kept talking about. They got their much deserved happily ever after. The only thing was kind of like “predictable” is when The story closes out with Gemma being pregnant. That is kind of what I was expecting at the end of it and would have just like things to end with the question going unanswered.
But all in all I really enjoyed Claiming My Soulmate and would recommend it if you like whirlwind romances and girls from the opposite side of the tracks being swept away by a billionaire. Go Gemma. And Josie😉

"Despite my reservations, I put my hand in his and let the fairy tale go another round...." --Gemma
Boy meets girl--and you'll love every minute of it! The chemistry between Tanner and Gemma is instantaneous and totally believable. Jessica Blake's contemporary romance takes the time to develop, not only the characters and supporting characters, but also the romance: Tanner doesn't believe in love and Gemma believes that love is worth the risk. Here's my favorite quote from Tanner: "The muscles in my eyes were more than likely strained from the number of times I had to not roll my eyes at some stupid cliché about love in the modern world..." Right? (Romance readers, you know what I'm talking about!) Tanner and Jessica aren't just beautiful on the outside (and therefore attracted to each other) it's the way they respond to each other in everyday situations that lets you see the romance develop over time. So many contemporary romances don't take the time to give us great, believable dialogue and story arc...just the "hot" romance stuff and conflict around 75% that is resolved by 84%. (Again, romance readers, you KNOW what I'm talking about!) The supporting cast is also great: Nonna, Jasper, and even the despicable Shane and Layla. Just enough friction to cause a scene but not so much that it derails the whole relationship. I like it when I get so involved that I have a stake in how the love story ends. You won't be disappointed if you're a HEA kind of reader!
This is the first book I've read from Jessica Blake,,,, I enjoyed her writing,,,
This book is about Gemma Elizabeth Amato, who lives in Austin, Texas with her Nonna and Nonna's Chihuahua, George Clooney, her father, Nonna's only son, skipped town and was living in Spain to become a winemaker more than a decade ago, and her mom left her with her Nonna when she went to capture the market in Real Estate in Arizona or Las Vegas, said if was only for 6 months, tops,,,, Nonna has a Matchmaking Business and Nonna has premonitions and has warned Gemma that today is a bad day,,,, but Gemma let's it go in one ear and out the other, as she gets laid off from her job and her 12 year old Honda car gets stolen, and to top it all off, her so called boyfriend, breaks up with her because she got laid off, which, in turn, was the best because she was going to break it off with him because he felt Gemma without a job was of more a problem than the fact that a good looking, rich man kissed Gemma and Gemma liked it,,,,, but, she needs to stop feeling so good about the kiss, because he's a client of Nonna's Matchmaking, which now affects Gemma, as Nonna has pulled her into the business to get more collateral to get the loan to buy Nonna' house, so Nonna can move into the retirement center, Zilker Heights,,,,,, and Nonna's only has 3 rules and dont get personal with the clients is one,,,, Gemma is so screwed now,,,,,,
Tanner Jackson is the designer of the #1app called True Love, his best friend and executive assistant Jasper Crane and Tanner were talking after his live interview with a panel of media, and other people, etc, Tanner still has his live mic on and he, in confidence, tells Jasper that this top app oir the last 14 months is basically b.s. and that these people are all like sheep, following what Tanner tells them,,,, the media overhears and now Tanner has some very mad people that are feeling deeply betrayed by Tanner and his app,,, the media, his consumers that trusted him, and most of all, his board of directors, but his V.P. of Jaxson Axis, Shane Bennington thinks maybe he can cash in on this and oust Tanner from the head of Jaxson Axis with the help of Tanner's ex-fiancé Layla Kendrick and Tanner is getting flack from his company and now from Gemma, he has no idea what is going on,,,,
Ok,,, you have a couple of the players and their roles,,,, you really need to grab this book,,, it's a really great read,,,, I had a hard time putting it down,,,, I would totally recommend this book to anyone,,,, it has everything you want, some action, adventure and some good, old fashion steam that we love so much,,,,, grab this book,,, you wont be sorry, I know I wasn't,,,,
I got this ARC voluntarily to do an honest review,,,,
ALWAYS TAKE THE HIGH ROAD!!! Talk about getting down and dirty. Man, Blake hit this one out of the ball park. When dealing with deception and lies, betrayal isn't an easy pill to swallow. When the world as you know it comes crumbling down around you, what would you do? This is one hot number with all the spicy flavor added in the right combination. Action packed, fast paced, suspense filled and enough backstabbing to kill an ox. A strong and steady plot bring this page turning bombshell to life before your eyes. The characters were intriguing, complex and realistic. The chemistry between the two main characters was white hot, off the charts explosive. The sparks fly when these two souls meet. A fascinating treat following as their personalities come together, blend and transform beautifully. The scenes were so vividly detailed and descriptive that it gives the illusion you were right there in the middle of ground zero with them. Twists and turns abound with nerve racking, nailbiting, heart pounding, pulse racing, adrenaline pumping, excitement and adventure to keep you captivated until the end. Blake did and incredible job bringing this read together flawlessly. Fantastic job Blake, thanks for sharing this awesome tale with us.
This is my first book by Jessica Blake, but it won't be my last. This story had a the feels a reader expects from a contemporary romance novel. Gemma and Tanner were both jaded about falling in love again because of past experiences. Gemma is finally ready and really wanted the chance to find the right guy and fall in love again. Tanner wasn't. He hated the idea of going through another heartache like his past relationship. Gemma's life started a downward spiral and her Nonna was helping her pick up the pieces. Tanner was president and CEO of his own company, but because of some off hand comments, he found himself in boiling water. In order to rebuild his reputation, he hired a Match Made in Heaven to help him. Tanner and his best friend decided that in order to offset his unpopular comments about true love, Tanner needed to be seen in a relationship. Because Nonna couldn't make it to the meeting, Gemma took her place as matchmaker and interviewed him for potential dates.
This is a fun, easy read. I got so caught up in the story, I didn't want to put it down. This book has emotion, good character development, hot bedroom scenes, the works! I look forward to reading more by Jessica Blake.
This is a well developed romance story about Gemma, a down on her luck young woman, who loses her job, someone steals her car and gets dumped by her lackluster boy friend, and Tanner, a billionaire app developer who is caught uttering his disbelief that his money making relationship app can help you successfully find love in a hot mic moment. His company hires Gemma’s grandmother, a matchmaker to help soften Tanner’s image and help find love as a means to save his company and his position as CEO. When Gemma’s “Nonna” feels something is in the works for these two she plots to have Gemma be the one to arrange a match for Tanner. This is a fun read with comical situations, hilarious secondary characters and has some intrigue as Tanner unearths a devious plot within his organization to end his reign of being in charge of his own company. Along the way the hot, physical chemistry between the main characters was “hawt” and their previous heartache raw and emotional for the different ways that Gemma and Tanner had dealt with their despair and hoping they could tear down the walls that divided them and be ready for love. I highly recommend this gem!
This was such a awesome story from start to finish. I can't remember the last time I enjoyed reading a book so much as this one. Oh lord this book had me laughing through out the book thank's to one little old lady and her friend's and a chihuahua named George Clooney. Tanner who is the owner/app designer of a find love app for Jackson Axis is overheard at a tech expo that he doesn't believe in love and talk about putting your foot in your mouth thing's at the company start taking a nose dive, so his assistant comes up with this idea his gma knows a lady who finds love for people and if he does this it'll boost his image as well, but he doesn't know what he's getting himself into when instead of the old lady he's meeting it's s her granddaughter Gemma and they don't hit it off right away, but he wants her to work with him she sets him up on 3 dates and oh boy does the fun begin there's even a kissing booth thrown in omg I just died laughing. This was such a awesome book. I didn't want to stop reading more and more. This is most definitely a must read.
I truly enjoy this author's work. Claiming my soulmate is a sweet story about finding love after you've given up on it. Tanner is an app developer who has created a best-selling match making app but has become jaded and feels love is not real after he has been betrayed and heart-broken by his former fiancée. He finds himself in a world of trouble after his snide comments about love are broadcast at a tech convention. To rehabilitate his image he is persuaded to try an old-school match making service that is owned by Gemma's nonna. Gemma has recently been fired and her grandmother guilts her into taking the meeting with Tanner. What transpires is the two of them convince themselves they have a friends with benefits relationship and they ignore their developing feelings. As they find themselves more and more committed to each other, they must face forces trying to drive them apart. Will they finally admit their love? Will they have their happily ever after? This book kept me engaged and I highly recommend it.
Jessica has given us another wonderful book captivating you from the first chapter drawing you in to this romantic love story between Gemma a love matchmaker and Tanner a non believer in true love and CEO of his own app creator company developing love apps. I just love how Jessica entangles two stories together Gemma match making finding a soulmate for Tanner to improve his credibility and the treachery of someone in his company hell bent on taking over Tanners position as CEO with a little help from Tanners conniving delusional ex fiancé. The chemistry between Gemma and Tanner is scorching HOT but they are both in denial, will they realise what they have together?? Nonna Gemma's wise elderly granny along with her friends and crazy dog George Clooney give you the laugh out loud moments that make this story so believable and special. If you like a book that has tension, suspense, humour, romance and plenty of steam then what's stopping you from adding this to your collection. I was given this as an ARC in exchange for a voluntary honest review.
I received an ARC from the author. Review is of my own opinion.
This was such a great book! Jessica is a really good writer. The main characters Gemma and Tanner had such good chemistry right off the bat with each other. I love the way Gemma stood up to him and didn't just melt into a puddle over him when she first met him. I like the way the relationship evolved over time. It wasn't just a first time meet and instantly I love you and you are my soulmate. It was something that took time. They both had things that they needed to overcome. There were obstacles for them both in their relationship and in their professional lives. But this book was also about family. I like reading books like this because it isn't centered around the sex. It is about the connection with the characters and the connections the other characters in the book. That is what makes this book so much better than others because there is a story-line there that isn't in other books. Also Jasper and Nonna are absolutely hilarious.
Perfect Mix of Chemistry, Humor, Intrigue and Romance!!
Tanner is a software millionaire due to the success of his dating app. Problem number one; he was burned by his ex-fiancé. Problem number two; he was taped voicing his disbelief in love. Mitigating the negative backlash involves hiring a local matchmaker to dunk Tanner back in the dating pool.
Love, the premise. Love, even more the execution. The characters come alive here.
Gemma loses her job, so assists her grandmother (who is a hoot) in her matchmaking business. Gemma penalizes Tanners’ disinterest by matching him with precisely who he asked for, resulting in a hilarious first date.
As Tanner and Gemma spend more time together so she can “better” match him sparks fly!! Scintillating with touches of humor and ultimately intrigue – this story is pure entertainment and a pleasure to read. I highly recommend!!
*** I am voluntarily leaving my honest review of this book ***
This is a book that I could not put down! Enter Gemma, on what was one of the worst days of her life, and her wacky, matchmaker Nonna, and Tanner, a rich tech genius, who may have just ruined his own reputation and possibly his company. He is the creator of a matchmaking app, and he was overheard talking about the fact that love doesn’t exist. Tanner begrudgingly hires the matchmaking company that Nonna owes to try to fix his reputation about love. Nonna pawns the meeting off on Gemma. The rest of the story is a ‘will they, won’t they’ romance. Will they get together? Will they admit their feelings for each other? Will Tanner fix his reputation and save his company? Will Tanner’s ex ruin his possible future with Gemma? Will Tanner and Gemma be a match made in heaven? I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a great romance with the perfect amount of steam and chemistry!!
I love books by Jessica Blake. Claiming My Soulmate is the second book by Ms. Blake that I have read and loved. Her books are witty, warm, and loving. This particular book is about Tanner, a software app designer, who has just broken up with his fiancée and Gemma, a PR manager , newly let go from her job. Gemma has a crazy, funny, and loving grandmother, Nonna, who is a matchmaker. Nonna talks Gemma into helping her run the business until she can find another PR job. Along the way, Tanner finds a need of some good PR and ends up contracting the services of a matchmaker. Of course, Gemma and Tanner hit it off right away and with the help of Nonna, find their way to true love. A lot of crazy and funny things happen along the way, which makes for a wonderful and funny story. If you like wacky and crazy stories about true love, you must read this book.
This was a great story. Tanner is jaded about love after losing his fiancée. Ironically at the same time is creator of a love app. Gemma just got out of a lackluster relationship, lost her job and car. She is suckered into helping her Grandmother’s business, which is in matchmaking. Unfortunately Tanner becomes her first client to try and help his tarnished image.
I have never used a dating app so I can only imagine the dates people wind up with or situations in which they find themselves. I caught myself laughing and getting frustrated or angry with the characters and their predicaments. It was also as though I was in the moment. Tanner and Gemma both deserve a second chance at love and are perfect for one another as long as they can get over their pasts and let one another in. I am looking forward to reading more by this author.
I absolutely loved this book and was hooked from beginning to end. I believe this is a 5+ star story. Blake manages to write with humour and intensity at the same time. The story highlights love, humour, fun, jealousy and betrayal. She has written some awesome characters. Most are wonderful and a few are horrid, but they are all interesting and integral to the book. Her characters grow and develop to ensure that the story is logical while remaining intriguing. I’ve read quite a few books by Jessica Blake and this one is definitely one of her best. Thinking about it I haven’t read one that I didn’t love. I might be a little biased because Jessica Blake is quickly becoming one of my favourite authors. I would definitely recommend this book to others.
I received an ARC for this book in exchange of an honest review.
What do you get when you have two people who feel love should happen on its own without any help of an app or someone setting you up.
Gemma ends up losing her job, and starts working with Nona who I love dearly. She wants things in life and wants to help Nona get her wish to live close to her friends, but in order to do that she needs to work.
Nona gives Gemma a job helping her match people with their “soulmate” but I think Nona has something planned from the start when she gets Tanner to hire them to help him find Love.
Tanner owns his own matchmaking app but when his loose mouth gets him into trouble, his friend jasper convinces him he needs to find love and open up to love.
Gemma and Tanner are awesome and perfect for each other. You will never be more entertained than you are with these two!
Have you ever read a book that you made you smile throughout and the ending just gives you good feelings, this is the book. I can’t say how much I enjoyed Jessica’s writing. I fell in love with Gemma’s grandmother! Gemma’s grandmother runs a matchmaker business and when Gemma is laid off she helps her grandmother. Her first client is Tanner a app developer and owner of his own company. His lastest app is for finding love , something he doesn’t believe in and all the press hear his comments. So his image needs fixing with Gemma’s help. I’m not spoiling anymore of the deliciously delightful book. This book is a keeper , one to read again. I loved every word! I obtained an arc and left a honest review of this fantastic book.
Got an ARC and I am so excited to have read this early-- what a fun, sweet, bumpy ride! Tanner is a hot business guy who created several apps & has made billions -- but he doesn't believe in love, which is what his app is about -- finding love. When word gets out his company is in trouble and it is decided he should start dating to show he really does believe in love. When he gets set up with Gemma, he enjoys her banter, creativity and sass. As we go through their journey, we see them falling in love, along with a great cast of characters, especially Nonna!! Seeing Tanner fall in love with Nonna too is just adorable, especially when he redesigns a new app with her in mind! Sweet (but rushed) ending.
I was very excited to be given the opportunity to read an ARC of this story. I am new to Jessica Blake and was not sure what I should expect. I was so very pleasantly surprised! This lighthearted romance is well crafted in a very real world with a wonderful cast of characters. Even the supporting ones are well done and full of life. Tanner needs some help recovering from imploding his image and brand as the creator of a very popular dating app after he is overheard declaring some very unbecoming things about love and the app's users. Gemma is suffering one disaster after another in her life and is recruited by her hilarious professional matchmaker Nonna to help Tanner as a client. Sparks fly, and not always is a good way! Definitely recommend this read if you need a fun romance!
Let go and let Love Wow Jessica has done it again. I am honored to have been given an ARC copy and will leave my honest review. This story had me from the very beginning. Tanner who is a computer app designer and owns his own company has been heartbroken and doesn’t believe that “True Love” exist. He even expresses his feelings after a presentation he makes one day. His words were enough to damage the image of his company and now he is looking for a way to rebuild what he has torn down. Gemma is beautiful and spunky and will definitely keep you on your toes. She also has suffered a heartbreaking loss at love. Loved Nonna she really made the story come to life and kept me smiling. Tanner and Gemma’s chemistry was smoking hot!!! This book is one to keep to read again and again.
I’m so glad I decided to buy this book. The blurb had me intrigued and hooked. Wow! This book had so many surprising factors to the storyline it had me smiling and shivering with excitement. I didn’t want it to end! Tanner and Gemma’s chemistry was HOT and off the charts sexy. Nonna is Gemma’s matchmaking grandmother who also has her own business in the field. She is one smart and sneaky, lovable character. I couldn’t stop reading and loved this well written storyline. It checks off everything in a romance story that you can see it come to life in front of you. The secondary characters were just as memorable as the main characters. Jasper, and Nonna and her friends were funny and supportive. I highly recommend this treasure for a very blissful escape.
Who needs an app if one didn't believe in the magic of love? Tanner developed an app where one can be matched with those who would be their ideal love and it has made him millions. Problem is what happens if you the developer is overheard saying disparaging things about those who believe in this app after you've seconds ago glorified it to those millions? One thing for sure Tanner needs to do something and fast. He is referred to a matchmaker. He doesn't believe it'll work and Gemma doing her grandmother a favour takes on the project believing likewise but yet they reckoned without chemistry. Read the journey, the laughter, the confusion, even the frenetic behaviour of the joyful geriatrics who get involved. Highly recommended.
Absolutely loved the story about Tanner a billionaire app maker and his match maker, Gemma. It starts with Tanner going off on love while not knowing his Mic is still on after an interview. He's marketing a love match app so this looks bad. So to prove to his friend and PR man Jasper that he's not completely loveless he decides to go through with a match making service of a dear friend Jasper's grandmother knows. Josie is Gemma's grandmother and has run this business for decades. While unemployed Josie puts Gemma to work and gives her Tanner's case. Oh, the fun that follows. Such an awesome story. Love all that they go through and the love making is magical. Thank you Jessica Blake for such a great story. Eager to read more of your books.
A fabulous fun and entertaining romantic comedy. This story kept you captivated from the very start, it had tension, suspense, and steamy romance. It made you laugh out loud and fall hopelessly in love with all the characters, especially Nonna.
Tanner is jade and maybe even a touch bitter, but deep down he has a heart of gold. Gemma is sweet, funny, feisty and free-spirited, and Just what is needed to break through the ice around Tanner’s heart... especially with the ‘assistance’ of Nonna. Excitement, action, back-stabbing and ultimate loyalty, this has it all.
I highly recommend this book! I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.
***This was the first book I’ve read by the author, and I received the book as an ARC in exchange for my honest review and rating.***
A quick, enjoyable read about a guy who develops a dating app but is a disbeliever in romance and matchmaking. He’s caught in a PR pickle when his thoughts are overheard and broadcast due to an open mic during what he thought a private conversation.
Gemma is helping her matchmaker Nonna, a hilarious gem of a character, and is enlisted to repair Tanner’s image and, in concert, his company. What transpires is a playful journey that’s easy and enjoyable to read with a somewhat rushed but satisfying ending.
I look forward to reading more books by Jessica Blake.
Loved the way this book took technology and old fashioned matchmaking to new heights. Tanner was swoon worthy from the start and Gemma was so down to earth and so real. Their story involved all the plot twists humor, corporate espionage, love, fate, jealousy and happiness . The other characters were lovable Nonna, Jasper and of course the four footed George Clooney all provided a great backdrop to the story. Jessica once again delivered a great read. I finished the book in one setting and loved the feelings it left me with. This will be one to re read again.
Tanner created an app to find ones true love. He ends up making some comments about not believing in true love or soulmates. This situation leads him to a matchmaker which happens to be Gemma’s grandmother. Gemma’s Nonna (as Gemma calls her) makes Gemma go meet him. There is instant chemistry between to two of them. How will Gemma feel about the dates she has to send him on or about the ex girlfriend that Tanner has that just won’t go away. What about Tanner how will he feel about the dates he has to go on. What will he do when one of his board members is trying to sabotage him at every turn. Can Tanner and Gemma make a go of it? Can they find there soulmate?
