A common misunderstanding which deters people from practising Islam is the idea that Islamic Teachings are difficult to practise. Alongside this, there are many opportunities a person comes across on a daily basis to amass reward for the Hereafter, but which one missed due to lack of knowledge. Easy Good Deeds is a valuable book which details many good deeds that a person can easily practise without any major effort. The author has highlighted actions over a wide spectrum of areas, ranging from worship to social conduct, all of which entail minimum effort but reap abundant reward nonetheless. This concise work will help readers appreciate the importance of many righteous actions, realise how easy it is to perform them, and ultimately imbue them with the spirit to practice Islam in its entirety.
Unlike the typical book, Easy Good Deeds is broken down into 81 sections rather than thematic chapters. When I’d originally begun reading this, I didn’t quite understand why one would do this to a book if they wanted to engage their readers for the entirety of the book. However, as I continued to read, I understood the need to break the 160 pages down in this way. By keeping each deed brief but concise, one is able to use the book as a point of reference that can be revisited frequently rather than one that has to be read in the style of a novel in order to make sense of it. With topics ranging from ‘Love for the Sake of Allāh’ to ‘Removing an Obstacle from One’s Path’, and ‘Responding to the Adhān’, to ‘Optimism and Hope from Allāh’, this small book is able to pack a big punch.
A slightly shorter book but full of wisdom. The highlight and the most valuable feature of this book is that while it mentions the good deeds worth great rewards, it also mentions very briefly yet comprehensively what is permissible and not permissible and to which extent and limit the good deeds should be carried out.
English translation of it was found wanting in certain areas (probably due to using a Google Translate but overall a good read).
Muslims commonly misunderstood how hard it is to do a good deed. Yet we don’t realise as simple as giving salam or smiling to other people, the one good deed has already written by angel. Alhamdulillah I found this book, it makes everything clearer now.
🌸 My 1st book of 2021, and boy what a good book to kickstart the year! The foundation of this book is based on the Hadith narrated from Sayyidah Ai’shah that the messenger of Allah said,
“The most beloved of actions to Allah are those that are regular, even if they are little”
🌸 There are a total of 77 chapters that review 77 easy good deeds. Every chapter is short yet concise. It discuses the deed and its virtues along with supporting Hadith. So reading the book is like killing 2 birds with a stone. I learn about easy good deeds as much as i learn about the Hadiths. I really had a good time with this book Alhamdulillah.
🌸 The deeds highlighted in the book are really too close to home. We actually do them in a daily basis but due to the lack of knowledge, we miss the opportunity to gain a reward.
🌸 The book is very impactful to me more than i thought it would be. Even after i finished reading the book for some time i can still hear the words echoed at the back of my head as i’m doing my daily chores.
“There is no permissible action, if done with the right intention cannot be changed into an act of reward”
“No good deed is insignificant, we must take every opportunity to do a good deed even small one.” Subhanallah ❤️
🌸 T’was a light reading yet very insightful. This book is HOPE. A hope for every sinner on this earth that we too can be a resident of Jannah, Insha Allah.
This is a short read that opens your eyes to small acts that could reward you with your relationship to Allah. Many of the things are common knowledge but they nicely reassure and the way of presenting these ideas is well done.
