Marked By The Devil

Rate this book
Women fall into my lap. Until an innocent beauty crosses my path and wants nothing to do with me. I’m one of the Devil’s Riders, the inner circle of one of the biggest motorcycle clubs in California. My brothers and I live on the edge of society, and we like it just fine. I’m swimming in easy women, but I’m easily bored. Then one day, I see her. Molly McRae. She’s easy on the eyes and sweet as pie. All I want to do is take a bite. From the moment I see Molly, I’m on a mission. I chase her down and learn her name. Then I begin my campaign to make her mine. I want to mark her. I want to tattoo her silky skin and kiss away her tears. Hell, I want to put my brand on her. My name. My ring. And I won’t stop until she’s mine. Marked By The Devil is Book 5 in The Devil’s Riders Series. Each book features a new couple with visits from old favorites. Marked By The Devil can be read as a stand alone but will be more enjoyable if the entire series in read in order. Devil’s Riders Book • Wanted By The Devil (Devlin’s story) • Ride With The Devil (Jack’s story) • Trust the Devil (Donahue’s story) • Dance With The Devil (Whiskey’s story) • Marked By The Devil (Callaway’s story)

Marked by the Devil is MC romance without the gritty, dark world of MC. Instead it is filled with sweetness. Not sick OTT sweet. And that is what I like about it.

Miss Blake intended this book to be short. So there is no drama between the characters. There is a lot of insta. And I found the story to be engagjng enough. I wish it could be longer so we got all the feel.

Overall this is entertain enough.

Marked by the Devil was the fifth book in the Devil’s Riders series by JoAnna Blake. It was my first book by the author.

Callaway was a patched MC member of the Sons of Satan (SOS) MC and part of their inner circle, the Devil’s Riders. He was their Ink Master and over the top wild with numerous stories to support his partying playboy reputation.

Molly McRae was beautiful, sweet and innocent. She lost her parents young in the same accident that left her younger brother in a coma; who she was now the sole guardian.

Callaway and Molly were exact opposites. In theory, they should never work. One look, one interaction and Callaway was gone. The rest of the story detailed his efforts to win her forever while also providing glimpses of the rest of the MC and their families. The book exuded love, loyalty, protection and a family bond that couldn’t be broken.

It was well written and fun. The story had a lighter edge from most MC plots making it a combination of sexy and sweet. However, there are hints of darker plots from earlier books and couples. I enjoyed it as a stand-alone but I am intrigued and will now start at the beginning of the series.

DNF @ 51%.

I kept waiting for something to happen in this book. Plus, the H is a HUGE manwhore, I mean a really disgusting one. He also does drugs which is a major turnoff for me.

I enjoyed this one much more than the first or the third books in the series.

While I enjoyed Callaway being a reformed manwhore since he set eyes on Molly and every other woman was invisible after that. I got tired of hearing about his past exploits. Putting that aside I think Callaway was a pretty decent guy. Possessive, sweet to Molly, but also the filthy, dirty talking alpha that we've come to expect.

Molly was a sweetheart. My heart went out for her and everything she did for her brother. I also loved how she kept Callaway on his toes, and didn't give in to him right away even though she wanted too.

All in all it was a good read and I'm excited to see who is next.

4 big stars!

Love / lust at first sight.

Felt deeply for h when you realized how little sleep she got while work two jobs a day to support her brother. Gladly H came to rescue her…the only thing I didn't like was he seemed to be too eager to get into her pants. More build-up would be better.

Although there were characters from previous stories's POV, I could still read it as standalone.

One of the reasons I waited so long to actually begin reading this book is because of all the reviews talking about Cal and his manwhore ways. I have to admit that I could have done without sooooo much of the reminiscing and references about his colorful past. I get it-- he has a huge dick and a long tongue and he'll sleep with any woman and women have been after him since he was a child [ewww]. Got it. With that said, Cal was 1000% in with Molly as soon as he saw her. He didn't have any regrets or hesitations about giving up his partying ways and I did like that. He had to work for Molly, and not because she was intentionally difficult or because she was playing mind games with him. Molly was genuinely innocent. She had to grow up and become an adult far sooner than she should have, and she really did have the weight of the world on her shoulders. I really liked Molly and I enjoyed that even though she was innocent and sweet and wanted to make Cal happy, she still had her own personality and she wasn't afraid to let that out from time to time. I totally got Molly's perspective... it so difficult to let someone in and let someone help you when you've only been able to rely on yourself for so long.

I have to admit that I'm over the "catch up" chapters that are from the POV of secondary characters and past couples. They got their story already. These books aren't long enough to dedicate multiple chapters to the POV of characters I no longer have an invested interest in. I skipped at least two of those chapters in this book.

No ow/om drama. No cheating. No real separation-- they are apart for a few days while Molly is trying to wrap her head around all of Cal's "planning" for their future, but nothing happens. Cal gets drunk at the club and all the guys are there to make sure he doesn't get blotto or do something stupid. There really isn't any violence in this book either which is unique for an MC book of any kind.

He was feeing restless and lonely. She was feeling overwhelmed and tired. He saw her for the first time and saw his future. She saw him for the first time and thought she didn’t need the complication of him in her life.
Eventually , he wore her down, and proved that they belong together, no matter what he would always be there for her and have her back.
She was in shock, couldn’t believe that someone would want her enough to take one her responsibilities and love her.
Together they proved that love can conquers all and they have a great and lasting love.

Another great book by Joanna Blake. I love this series and this one was just as good as the rest. I really liked both characters. I could probably deal with a little less sex talk/thoughts from him though and the constant reminder he was a manwhore. But once he saw her he completely changes. It was cute. She was adorable and loved how much she took care of her brother. Great book with an equally as great ending.

This book just wasn’t for me.. I felt as if there was no chemistry between the characters. I also felt like he was forcing her into a relationship. She seemed to me manipulated into the relationship, moving in, buying a house and having babies. She had no say so what so ever and when she did stand up for herself he made her feel bad and again manipulated her.

Callaway is feeling unsettled his blood brothers are all settled with families & he’s ready for that.
Molly helps at his grandmothers Bonnie’s nursing home she’s busy working two jobs to pay for her brothers care. The attraction is instant but he’s huge & she’s his but can he convince her?

On-hold.

Before meeting the h the H is the King of Manwhore. His inner thoughts were full of ‘manwhore’ crap. Like f*cking 10 girls in one night and all. But after he meets the h, he is a goner. She is sweet and innocent (little too much).

“I just had to show her I could lick my eyebrows.”

Uh...ohkay.
He is talking about his super long tongue.

*** Received an ARC for my honest review. Thank you Joanna Blake for giving me the opportunity to review this amazing book.***

Callaway is a member of the Devil's Riders MC. He had a tough upbringing and lived with his Nana from a very young age. He had an easy life with the MC, and when I say easy, I mean it in the way of getting it with the club girls, but he had enough. He wanted to settle down like some of his friends did.

Then he met Molly. She was working at the nursing home where Nana stayed. She was shy and very innocent. She was also caring for her brother who was in a coma at the nursing home. Molly was a hard worker, because she worked literally day and night upholding two jobs at the same time to make sure her brother has the best care possible.

Callaway was very patient with Molly and he liked showing her a lot of affection. Molly was not sure what she must do in terms with her relationship with Callaway because she felt that she just do not have enough free time to concentrate on a relationship with anybody at the moment. Will she weigh her options and try to give their relationship a try and see if they can work something out whilst caring for her brother and between working, or will she just give it all up? Now unfortunately you have to read the book to find out what will happen with their relationship.

This book concentrate more on the romance side and not so much on the the MC side, which is okay because you still have the bad boy and the good girl in the end.

Happy Reading

I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book (given by the author)...

Holy insta-love Batman, this book contains major insta-love.

From the moment Callaway meets Molly, he starts thinking about having babies with her. Now Callaway as you know if you read Dance With the Devil, is a huge womanizer know for his sexcapades with numerous women at one time; however, it seems with one look at Molly, he has become a changed the man. I did laugh at some moments at Callaway's expense, for example, when Molly refused to go out with him the first time she met him, he was completely heartbroken and went to club and proceeded to drown his sorrows. However, the man didn't stay down for long and never stopped going after his Molly. As for Molly, I felt for the poor woman she had so much going on and she had to handle it all on her own.

Now I won't lie I'm not very much into insta-love, it's not my go-to type of story frequently, but I do enjoy it from time to time. But Callaway's reaction to Molly was crazy in a cute way but it was a little over the top; at times it made Callaway seem bossy and overbearing which caused some issues between them.

The couple had some things to overcome and I liked that the entire MC was there to lend them a hand and guide Callaway on the right path to being what Molly needed as well as who Callaway truly wanted to be.

I think Lucky may be the next in line for a story of his own ;)

This is nothing so sweet and satisfying as a reformed bad boy. Callaway has always enjoyed his position in the Devil's Riders. He can have a new chick or five in his bed every night. He loves his Gran who raised him and takes care of her but beyond that, he does what he wants when he wants to. One fine day he is visiting his Gran and he is quite suddenly smitten with a gorgeous woman named Molly. Unfortunately for him, Callaway has encountered a woman who doesn't want to fall into his arms or bed. Suddenly, Callaway wants more out of life then partying. Will Molly give him a chance, or will a lifetime of disappointments and sadness keep her from the one she needs?

Joanna Blake is a super safe author, similar to Alexa Riley. There is no cheating, definately major insta-love/lust and they are just so much fun! I do not have to worry when I sit down with a Joanna Blake book. I know I am going to relax and enjoy. I loved seeing Callaway get brought to his knees by a sweet little lady who is determined and used to relying only on herself. Luckily Callaway is a package deal with a group of people who are just like family. That is something Molly has in very short supply. I don't want to spoil anything so just trust me, if you enjoy a book that just lets you sit back and watch two people who deserve to have a happy ending get one.

Another book in The Devil's Riders Series this stories couple centers around Callaway the ink master for SOS, playboy extraordinaire and Molly the shy, innocent girl with the world on her shoulders.
When Callaway lays on the sweet Molly while visiting his Nana at the nursing home- he was in over his head at first sight!
Pursuing her with an intense amount of zeal and a somewhat enduring passion, the magnetism between them shows.
She has her issues to deal with while enjoying his attention; Molly has more on her plate than she can handle already. Adding an overbearing, albeit sexy as sin man to her list doesn't seem like the best idea.
What she doesn't realize is, Callaway will stop at nothing to mark this sweet girl as his.
Well then!
What an insta- awe- all tale! Heat, humor and a fast-paced naughty, heart swelling MC storyline are there to greet you the minute you open this book!
Men misbehaving, women reining them in- with all the naughtiness and sweetness mixed in- it was excellent take me away from reality story!
I have enjoyed reading about Callaway and the other Crazy MC's and the women who put them in their place!

(Callaway & Molly): I couldn't get into this book as much as the other one. The author doesn't allow us to connect to the main characters because she's constantly switching to other members of the MC and their old ladies. Some that have already had their own books to tell their story and some that might be in the next few books. I felt that was unnecessary considering there are at least three more books left. The only family Calloway has is his grandmother who's in a nursing home and his MC. He visits her as often as possible. On one of those visits he meets Molly who works there passing out books. He's immediately taken with her. Molly is the guardian of her teenage brother who is in a coma and living in the same nursing home where she works. She works several jobs to pay for his care because it's just them. Cal knows that he wants Molly and that she will be the one he marries so the pursuit begins. There was a lot of back and forth with these two. It seemed like every time she was unsure about something, he jumped to the worst possible conclusion and assumed she didn't want him. That got annoying. The main couple got maybe a third of the story space in this book so it bothered me. There's no real MC issues, no danger. The story is just about love and pregnancies. 🥱

I love this series and this one was a great read. I loved Callaway and his transition from man-whore to patient lover. He is a gruff man who always gets what he wants, when he wants it until he meets Molly. Molly is a women with A LOT on her shoulders and she finds herself with anther issue, getting Callaway to take their new relationship slow. Callaway being Callaway, doesn't know how to go slow from the moment he meets Molly he wants everything.

I really enjoyed the development of their relationship and I loved how he was hell bent on claiming her but was willing to do it at her pace. My favorite parts of this story (after the main leads) was when we got updates on the other members of this MC from previous books and watching Callaway deal with the slow pace. I loved listening to his mind when he could not figure out how to get what he wanted without being overbearing.

This series is a favorite of mine and this story only added to the great enjoyment I get from reading them. This book (along with the others) is filled with insta-lone, possessive and aggressive males, strong yet delicate females and great plots. I received an ARC and am leaving an honest review.

What another awesome read in The Devil Riders Series with Marked by the Devil. Callaway is a member of the Devil's Riders MC. He had a pretty rough childhood and lived with his grandmother when he was young. His time with the MC has been easy in the sense that he was pretty much a manwhore and could get girls anytime, anyplace. Then he met Molly who worked at the nursing home where his grandmother stayed . Molly was sweet , shy and innocent. She also was a super hard worker-she worked two jobs to make sure her brother, who is in a coma, was taken care of. Callaway and Molly had this instant chemistry that was sizzling. Theirs was this insta-love type relationship and for them, it worked. They did have some things that they did need to work to overcome to make their relationship stronger and it was awesome to watch how the whole MC clan was there for them. I loved the passion and steam that flared between them even when they were fussing with one another. But the love that they felt was obvious and it was beautiful. I cannot wait to read the next book in this series.

My Rating: 4.5 stars *****

Insta-love from the get go! Manwhore Callaway is struck dumb when he meets Molly at his Nana's nursing home and he's protective and possessive of her even though she keeps putting up a fight when he does anything for her. Molly has been responsible for her younger brother who is in a coma, for years now, since the accident that took their parents lives but she's struggling financially while working 2 jobs just to keep a roof over her head and her brother in a good facility. Callaway wants to take that stress from her and help her in every way he can, including financially but Molly is being stubborn and independent, not believing that Callaway is gonna be around for the long haul. With his MC/biker lifestyle, tattoos, piercings and whorish ways, Molly doesn't think that he's a good fit for her and her brother who will need lots of therapy when he wakes from his coma. Callaway has a lot of walls to break through to get Molly to accept that she's his everything and he's in it until the end! Another good book in this series!

I always love when a big, bada$$ guy falls head over heels for a lovely and as innocent as they come girl. I love it even more when he just "knows" right from the first moment of meeting her and isn't shy about it and willing to move mountains to earn her love. Yeah, insta love at its best.
Both Molly and Callaway were great characters. Molly was so young and innocent without being ignorant or childish. She had a lot on her plate and worked super hard to be able to provide for his brother. Callaway was a biker who worked hard as a tattoo artist and partied even harder, did and enjoyed everything his good looks and other "gifts" predestined him to. But he also was a man wishing for a family of his own lately. I liked them together, they had palpable chemistry.
I also liked to have little glimpses of the previous couples' lives through their POVs. Those chapters weren't overdone, didn't take away from Molly and Cal's story, but brought back a few characters I loved in previous books.
I enjoyed the bond between the members of the club, they really were a big extended family.

Such a wonderful read. This MC romance is well written and has likable characters. This is book #5 in The Devil's Riders series. It can be read as a stand alone but for complete reading enjoyment I would read them all and in order. The characters reappear throughout the series and this way you will know all the details that you might not be aware of otherwise. This book focuses on Calloway. Known as the legendary playboy of the club his exploits are legendary. That is until he gets his first look at Molly. I loved this book. The story was sweet, fun and steamy. It includes a lot of really cute and humorous moments that will make you smile and laugh. You also get some deep emotions. Your heart can't help but melt as you witness the love that Calloway has for his Nana, Molly's love for her brother, the love between the brothers and families of the club and the love that blossoms and grows between Molly and Calloway. An excellent addition to this series and an all around five star read. This is my honest, voluntary review.

Wow, another amazing installment of Joanna’s Devils Riders series. This book had all the feels for me. I throughly enjoyed catching up with everyone, meeting some fun new people that I can’t wait to get their own story and then of course Callaway and Molly. They are so cute together and it was so much fun to watch Callaway give chase to little innocent Molly. When you know you know I guess and he knew she was his from the start. Molly is a amazing young lady for sure. Then add in Molly’s brother which made it not only emotional but brought a huge sense of family to the whole book. The other men and women from the group are so welcoming, fun and loyal that I just adore it. Getting some more of their stories was a added bonus for sure. Joanna, she makes me laugh. She writes such descriptive pieces that have me chuckling out loud, emotionally touched and they just make me happy. The characters in this story are amazing and the story is not to be missed. Thank you Joanna for another fabulous piece to this truly great series.

The first half of the story was engaging, but I quickly grew frustrated with the female main character. She starts off sweet and maybe docile and working hard to provide for her brother’s medical care…, but once the male lead falls for her, she morphs into a more manipulative and immature version where she listens to “friends” she made two minutes ago and… I don’t know… I got irritated… I should have DNF’d even though the conflicts didn’t last as long as some other books I’m just tired of reading about self inflicted drama. The conflicts are forced and unnecessary; if she had just communicated her feelings, many issues could have been avoided.

It's disheartening to see this pattern in MF stories when MM narratives often feel more nuanced. I’m exhausted by the self-centered, overly dramatic FMCs. I want the dark and spicy and dramatic, if there was only a way to find out if Mac changes halfway to weird crap…

Now this wasn’t by any means dark or too spicy.

Marked by the Devil is book 5 in the devil's riders MC series and can be read as a standalone but I think you get more out of this book if you have read the other books. Especially considering some old friends turn up in this book which I absolutely loved.
This is Callaway and Mollie's story and I absolutely loved this book.
When you have everyone throwing themselves at you it's easy to take the bait but it takes someone special to turn someone from a player with a wild reputation and make them change especially when you are not even trying too.
These two were a very good combination and seem to blend very well together.
I really changed my opinion on Callaway as he's not what I first thought he'd be and it was nice to read him do the things he did for Molly.
I really enjoyed reading this book and their story and I highly recommend you one click this book straight away.

Callaway never had to work for it. He'd never been turned down--until he was by the sweet little volunteer at his Nana's nursing home. The guys in the MC didn't think he'd ever settle for one woman. They weren't about to let it happen without giving him a hard time.

Molly didn't have time for guys. Not even the gorgeous grandson of a resident. She had a brother in a long-term coma and had to work long hours to pay for his care. Callaway didn't take no. He was there--always there waiting, wanting, and not just to have her but to take care of her as well.

Will he finally get rejected when it really matters?

The fifth book in the series, it is a story of Molly and Callaway, however, we get to visit the other men and friends who have found the person that completes them. It fun to see how they are getting on and how they pull Molly right into the group. Don't miss it.
