I fell in love with Jennifer Bene’s Imperfect Monster and upon finishing the book there was one thing I desperately wanted – more of Jennifer Bene’s work. With Imperfect Monster offering up the kind of darkness I adore in my romance, I had high hopes for the author’s other work. Thus, I was happy to dive into The Invitation.
I will be honest and say I was a wee bit uncertain about this one at first. I was intrigued, but I wasn’t feeling any of the dramatic emotions that suck me deep into a story and leave me obsessed. It was simply a story to continue reading, with the hope things would improve.
Improve they did.
I went from feeling just ‘okay’ towards this story to being addicted. I was hooked, sucked in so deep, and I found myself powering through the story. I was addicted to all that came to be, desperate for more, and in the end I found myself wanting The Invitation to transform into a full-length mind-blowing story rather than simply being the insanely addictive quick story I had read.
Extremely hot and steamy, this story gripped me hard. There is no doubt in my mind that I will be reading yet more Jennifer Bene in the future – in fact, I already have a few other Jennifer Bene books sitting on my Kindle ready for me to dive into.

It was another well written story. This author continues to write characters with depth and are well developed. For me the characters have to have depth. The story line is also important. This author continues to write well developed storylines with strong characters.

This book wasn’t exactly what I was expecting, based on the recommendations I got, but it wasn’t horrible. I’ve read some of Jennifer Benet’s books and I know she writes much better now.
This is one of those books that you don’t read for the plot. Sex is the plot. You finish it and you go grab your husband, wife, boyfriends, girlfriend, a neighbor… a cousin (if you live in Texas :-S), to… tell them about this damn book you’ve read, to see if they get the hint. If you know what I mean 😂.
On a serious note, this is one of the Bene’s earlier books. Her writing improved tremendously since. I recommend reading some of her latest books. Read trigger warning beforehand though, she dives into some dark and disturbing stuff in some of her books.

Calling Jennifer Bene......Calling Jennifer Bene!!!
Please, Please, Please expand on this story!!!! I could have sunk deep into this story. Unfortunately this stayed at a surface level for me but the story and characters could have been developed into an amazing read. Not that I did not enjoy it, as I did. But the characters alone have such depth already....I just wish I had more opportunity to read about them. This is my only complaint about this book.
This is an amazing quick read for all. I am sure you will enjoy it if given the chance!!!

Short and steamy! The main story about Cara and Saif ends at 74%. I realize this is PWP but I still wanted a bit more closure. The excerpt about Ben at the end gave more backstory for why Saif was so interested in Cara, which I enjoyed. If you're looking for kinky sex with multiple partners, pick this novella up! The BDSM is definitely present but it's not OTT or all that intense.

Cara gets invited to a party by her room mate and her eyes are opened and her pay is enormous. Saif meets Cara and decides she should get the Invitation to another type of party where he and his partner Ben show her what it's like to be sexy and free to enjoy all the forbidden erotic sex she could ask for. This story was great, a fast hot erotic read from start to finish. I hope to see more of these characters in another book that delves more into the bdsm aspect of this sexy party

While at the party she discovers a whole new world, the only question is will she accept the invitation to explore her dark desires? Fast paced read and oh so steamy, I loved it!

My first ever Jennifer Bene read and it seems it might have been her first release.
It was fun, short and sexy. I loved the build up of the characters and the touch of mystery in the story. Heat was high making it all the more fun.
I could totally do with reading a full novel about Saif and Cara because this short only has me craving more about the secret club and chemistry between them two!

Why have I never read anything by Ms. Bene before now?
This is one seriously, scintillating BDSM story.
I loved the hot, compelling read, and wished that the story would unfurl further than the end of this tale...

Not quite so much of a romance, but still a red-hot and very well written read
The Invitation isn't a romance in the traditional sense of the word, though it does hint at future love and definitely ends on a HFN note. It's the story of a complete innocent who wanders into the world of erotic love and BDSM. I'm a huge fan of Ms Bene, I always know that whatever I am reading by her will be well written, have interesting characters and have enough steam to heat a small city. This is a fairly short read, having once been part of an anthology, though it came with an additional story that is related to The Invitation.
Cara, possibly against her better judgement, agrees to attend a party with her flatmate. A party where she doesn't have to do anything if she doesn't want to, but where opportunities will be abundant.
I really liked Cara despite her going from Ms Prim-and-Proper to Slutty-Sue within the blink of an eye. She was being offered many a naughty, secret fantasy on a plate by several very hot guys - what woman in her right mind would turn that down? It felt more like erotica with a smidgen of romance on the side. Thankfully it was very tasteful and nicely written, however you want to label it. All the encounters have a menage element, though not all involve sex with both men.
At the first party Cara feels totally out of her depth until she is 'rescued' by the incredibly sexy and very mysterious Saif, the hero. There is an instant connection between the two and Cara is completely enthralled by him. It was difficult to really know the full extent of Saif's interest for most of the book, as it was written entirely from Cara's perspective. Most of their interactions were at one of two parties and involved a lot of sexual activity rather than conversation, which is why I wouldn't label this a romance.
There is a scene in the story that some might consider cheating. Whilst I didn't quite label it as such I did struggle with the heroine .
The bonus content was a scene from Ben's perspective (Ben is Saif's friend and co-owner of the sex party business). One of the things I really liked was the extra insight it gave me into how much Saif was smitten by Cara. It's a massively fun read, incredibly hot and very NSFW. If BDSM, menage and sex with multiple partners isn't your thing, then don't read this. However, if like me, these tick the right boxes for you then this is a very entertaining and steamy read.

I love the journey that Cara makes, from "boring" woman to willing sub, as she learns more about herself and what she likes. Anyone who loves Jennifer's other stories will love this one.

This was fantastic and so super hot OMG!!! I loved it all. Cara who thinks she leads a boring life gets to awaken so many firsts discovering her submissive side with an invitation to a very exclusive party and gets to have not one but two very experienced Doms Saif who is very commanding and Ben who is very swoon-worthy and both drop dead gorgeous show her all about it and really push her limits. The whole experience of the first time was so good and full of surprises and I couldn't put it down and want so much more, this will not disappoint.

The Invitation was a hot and steamy quick read. I didn't know what to expect from this book as I went in blind not having read the synopsis or any reviews. I really wanted to read a book written by this author before meeting her at a book signing event in a couple of months and chose this one, and I am glad I did.
I would have loved to have more of this story. I would have loved to see if something developed between Saif and Cara. You never know, maybe we will see more from the AL boys in the future..... I do hope so.

Cara was a good girl and student. Her roommate invited her to a party. Cara went and was very surprised to see sex everywhere and out in the open but it opened something inside her. Saif noticed her and wants. He invites her back. She goes and a whole world is opened to her and she loves it. Saif helps her get adjusted but he wants more from her. Cara doesn't seem to mind. I think the beginning of something more. The story as a whole was an awakening for Cara. Some steamy scenes. Enjoyed very much.

If you're after something naughty and sexy this is a great little pantie-melter of a story. Although I found it to be a little out there at times.
I loved the character interactions, the careful structure of the encounters and the wonderful flow and buildup of the story.
I enjoyed the extra short Ben's Day. It gave a little edge and background into Ben and it was a saucy and sexy little addition to the story.
I gobbled up this book in one sitting!

A brilliant novella of exploration. Cara's not boring and she's going to prove it in the most decadent manner. I loved Cara's openness, embracing her sexuality, and where her journey takes her. The very mysterious Saif, and his friend Ben, just added so much to Cara's discovery of what she liked, what she wanted, what she can be. Great, delicious read from beginning to end.

How many of us feel like Cara, that they are always the good girl doing what is expected. To then have the opportunity and the courage to break out of that mold and go to a party where anything goes is remarkable but oh so satisfying. This is a sexy, hot quick read that I would love to see more of these characters and see what happens to them. The bonus story of Ben and Krista was also fun and very hot.

Cara was the good girl, the one who got straight A's and did the right thing. When she's invited to a club, she's given a chance to push beyond her boundaries of what's safe and comfortable. Saif and the other Doms were oh so sexy, and they took Cara beyond her wildest expectations, and showing her about the carnal pleasures she never knew about. It was a sensual, erotic read, and I loved it!

This book was hot! Cara is taken to a party by her roommate. She is a nice girl, who somehow was never satisfied by her boyfriends . This party will open up another whole new world to her, where she meets Saif. He will show her what behind the locked doors of lust and hedonistic desires. A fantastic story which is like Alice going down the hole. I volunteered to honestly review this book.
