This is the second book within this series and I must say this book is a home run, a touch down, a hole in one! Wow just wow. Summer has taken us on a wild ride, one that cannot be predicted.
My favourite quote “he smiles, although I’m not sure if he’s annoyed or amused. This thing we have between us- this romantic tension, this all- consuming passion- is like the elephant in the room. It’s here and we’re here...but nobody wants to bring it up. Not really.”

This quote was stuck in my head the entire book. I couldn’t stop thinking about this.

The rest of the book is written spectacularly in the way only summer can do. There are so many twists and turns and unexpected events. The ending has me waiting and itching for my next fix. I need the third book like right now at this moment.
Another amazing job Summer! I’m waiting on pins and needles for the next instalment, please don’t keep me waiting too long!

Summer Lane's Collapse series has taken on a life of it's own. There are at least two spin offs; the Resurrection series being the sequel to the what happens after the final book in the Collapse series. State of Emergency is the first book in the series and follows Cassidy Hart who attempts to survive in a world that has been devastated by a group called Omega who are looking to take over. There are 10 books in the original Collapse series.

The Resurrection series picks up with Cassidy trying to bring order back to a devastated world. She has been elected President of the Western Republic, which is comprised of the states on the western coast of the U.S., but does not believe herself to be presidential material and would much rather be on the front lines. We learn that Omega has not truly been defeated and is planning a comeback. Cassidy and her team must continue the battle against Omega in hopes of saving what remains of the United States. Resurrection: Civil War gives us a greater insight into how Omega functions, it's history, and it's leaders.

I am going to be completely upfront and say that while I enjoyed this book, more so than the first in this sequel, I wonder if it is not time to bring closure to this world. The first book, , just felt like more of what already took place. At least with the second installment we got to learn more back story about Omega and why they are the way that they are. I will continue to read the series because Summer Lane is a good writer and if I am completely honest I always have to finish what I start.

Cover Design - 3.5
It's an interesting cover. Not boring but not really appealing. Does not really call to me. It feels kind of "Meh" to me.

Grammar - 4.0
There were a few sentences in the book with words out of order. Over all very well written.

Plot - 4
I enjoyed this book more so than the first book in the series. I feel that the story line was better developed and flowed much more readily. The readers learned new things about Omega that were never revealed in the past.

Believability - 3
It's the end of the world. It is possible our technology could be wiped out by an EMP and that our major cities devastated by nuclear bombs. This story contains some new technologies that are hard to believe, nanotechnology, and that is why I gave it the lower rating.

Ending - 4
I am curious where Lane is going with the Omega story line. I feel that the ending was predictable with Cassidy and her team being implanted with the nanotechnology. This development will lead the team to devise of a means for removal which will in turn help save the two new characters that were brought into the story.

Price Value - 4
This book was priced lower than Summer Lane's books usually are but I feel it is slightly overpriced.

Overall - 4.5
I enjoyed this book. I will continue to read this series to find out the conclusion. I would recommend.

***This is not a stand alone book. I recommend reading the first 11 books in the series.***

So I am torn about this book. I love Summer Lane and her writing but I think I am getting a little bored with the Omega storyline. I love these characters. I do. I love Cassie and Chris Vera Andrew Uriah and even Clare. Elle is annoying me but that’s ok. The writing is on point as usual. No complaints there. But for me this dragged out a bit then bam here you go. And I may be in the minority here but I want Cassie back with Chris. She’s darker with Uriah ☹️ but that’s just my opinion.

Not my favorite

This book sets the scene I am assuming will be the rest of the series. I still don't like the Cassidy Uriah romance. I think Chris and Cassidy balance each other while Uriah just steam rolls ahead without considering the consequences. I just have a real problem with the whole dynamic and can't seem to get past it

Another great book!!

The author is taking us on another adventure!! I was not sure if the story would be just another repeat of the war and the outcome with different survivors. It is not!! It is a good continuation of the Resurrection Series. I am still a fan of Cassidy and Chris but I am trying to get used to the idea of Cassidy and Uriah.

Thank you, Summer Lane, for not letting Cassidy Hart go. So happy to read a “sequel” (so much more!) and see what comes next. Fingers crossed for more in the Resurrection Series. Lane’s writing has become intense and descriptive since the first book “State of Emergency”. She’s killing it (pun intended).
