I waited so long for this I was worried I wouldn't remember much of the previous book - Heart of Gold, so colour me surprised when I went and checked my review and found I didn't really love it, because Heart of Ice was brilliant! For me, this was a huge improvement on HOG, I connected with the characters andbecame so invested in them getting their HEA after the most horrific lives they had endured.
Monster, his back story broke my heart and I fell so hard for him. Vegas was perfect for him, two very broken and damaged people that made a complete whole. There's a whole lot of insta love in here and I don't care, I loved it! Paranormal and insta go so well together, this was just how I like my insta stories.
Now the nail biting wait for the next one!

If you loved Tillie Cole's Souls Unfractured (Hades Hangmen #3) then you would devour this.
I am absolutely adoring this series and the characters. Would recommend to anyone who wants a refreshing paranormal romance with a VERY devoted hero and strong heroine.
Safety:
No Cheating. Nothing with other people. No OW/OM drama. As soon as the hero sees a picture of the heroine he knows she is his mate and will do anything to protect her, even if it means he has to sacrifice his own happiness.
Although, hero is in a 'gang' of sorts so gang mentality goes along with it: previous manwhoring and discarding women. (One short scene where the hero sees his brothers getting off with random women but is disgusted by it.) I didn't mind it because its not thrown in your face at every opportunity and the hero's actions portray him as an emotional virgin of sorts. Heroine is a virgin, and again, it didn't bother me because she didn't have typical insecurities.

This was a story with very sweet MCs who had been through a lot. And I mean a LOT!
A shapeshifter novel and pretty violent with it, but the relationship was nicely done and what I particularly liked was the author keeping the language about the sex between them sexy yet tasteful. Earthy, arousing, explicit, real, but no c*** word flying around, a sadly annoying element in so many New Adult books (for example in Ruby Dixon's books. I enjoy them but feel they would be so much better if she toned down the foul language just a tad!) Maybe it is just me but I loathe that word- I have always felt it was misogynistic to use a derogatory name for our lady parts as the worst possible insult.
So definitely nice to see the author resisted going down that road.
I know this is part of a series but I don't think I will be reading any more at the moment.

Can't get enough of the Firecats series
Monster & Vegas continue the dolls & Firecats journey into new & better territory. New information led to new findings. Monster found Vegas & they learned to trust & love each other. I can't wait to read Skittles & Nyla's story, but I look forward to Felix getting knocked on his ass when he sees his mate for the first time!!!

Its not a bad book, just wasn't the book for me. I misinterpreted the book blurb.

So Monster was the scarred baddie MMC but there was no captive, there was no taking, there was no pushing boundaries. With an engrossing beginning I truly believed I was getting the workings of a cool dark shifter romance.

If that's why you are looking to read this book shift expectations. Spice feels slow burn. It takes until 70% before anything substantial happens. The whole book pacing wise feels like it takes a while to gear up. I love insular romance stories but this one felt like we were stuck in rising action zone for the entire book.

Vegas was an ok FMC. Grateful she was at least 25 but she lacked a personality in some ways. Both characters experienced extreme traumas but only hers were important to recognize, I guess.

Book 2 in the fire cats.
So this book continuesstraight after the events in book 1 with Monster working undercover in a bid to rescue the remaining ‘dolls’ from abstain ( the epic deuche-Conoe ) following a somewhat successful rescue.. with one pool doll left behind. The remaining alley cats return to the warehouse to work on how to save the remaining doll who is skittles mate.
I adored monster, he is the ultimate in badass gruff boys with the tender and protectiveness, that only comes with a marsh-mellow centre. Two emotionally and physically scared people helping, learning and caring for each other and righting the wrongs of the past along the way.
This book was long awaited.... but my lord it was worth the wait. A book so emotive cannot and should not be rushed because to have missed even one of the feels, that this book pumps out would have been devastating.

I just read another book before this in a different series. It was so good and I was excited to finally find a para romance with mates where the guys weren’t disgusting. It horrible when they mention the nasty sex acts they did in the past or how many women in their pack they banged and it takes away all magic and romance for the mates in the book. The last book by this author was perfec and gave me hope. Then this one just had to go and mention other people nearby by taking a woman at both ends and how a week ago that would have been him. Like holy freaking crap! Why?!?!! Why can’t these guys keep it in their pants? They know they have mates somewhere. If your male mate characters are disgusting or playboys, don’t freakin mention it!!!!!! It ruins everything and makes people upset. My book club agrees along with many readers. We don’t want to know about their previous sex buddies or dalliances. Focus on the mates and what they have. Not their previous skanky ways. Gross.

Finally! I have been waiting for the second book in the Fire Cats series and it was worth the wait. I love that the scarred man the call Monster is actually quite sweet and caring. He wants to change his ways and is hoping that the woman he thinks is for him will accept him scars and all. Vegas has quite a few scars of her own, some that can't be seen from the outside, but now that she has her freedom she wants to find thing that are good for her. Monster isn't as scary as she thought he was and he helps her finally feel free and unafraid. A great read, the characters are well developed and the story has so much depth. Looking for a story about finding freedom, love, acceptance and the person who makes you stronger than this book is for you.

Monsters of Various Kinds
I am a big fan of P.J.'s Dirt Track Dogs and other associated Ouachita series, and have read the first two books in Firecats so far. Each book stands alone but works best in series, as characters repeat and there is a flowing plot extension that is gradually being revealed. There was a big one here with Mama Cat and Vegas. I am interested to see how that progresses. That said, this is a beautiful if somewhat quick love story about two very broken people finding themselves and strength through trust and love. I liked both the H and h here. Felt the end was a little abrupt with cliffhanger, as a major plot point was unresolved, but likely will be in the next entry. Altogether would recommend and will re-read.

Just Adore This Monster!!!
Scarred outside...even worse scars inside Monster is exactly that......or is he....guard duty for a crime lord or is he guarding his mate his One? This book tears at your heart as two very broken souls find themselves and each other and become whole. Paranormal greatness aside the love story itself sets this book apart from many......as the Alley Cats turn into Firecats by finding their hearts P Jameson gifts us a beautiful series of redemption . These characters are amazing and stories so moving...I dare you not to get teary eyed while reading . Another awesome read!!!

Great!
Monster and Vegas had a great story. I loved that all of the other cursed cats were involved. Ratchet, Marlee, Skittles, Fang, Felix (He I am not to sure about redemption for him) and Mama Kat. Can't had me laughing out loud. I loved him. Here we see why Vegas is so scared of Monster. We learn to understand both their plight. I felt more for Monster's though.
I would have loved a little more laugh out loud moments. I am hoping Skittles and Nyla's story comes out very soon because it feels as though we need to start it "tomorrow".
So, book two was a win for me.

Monster is working undercover as a guard to the "Dolls" for Batian. He is needed to be the inside man as the Forecast try to rescue the girls. He knows Vegas is his mate. He is all scarred up because of the abuse from his father so he doesn't feel worthy.
Vegas has been with Bastian since she can remember. She was his first Doll so he named her One.
This book is filled with anguish, abuse, love, hope and healing. We see that this group of "bad" men are changing. Some more than others but it makes this story so engrossing. I have loved both of the Firecat books! Can't wait for more!

I have said over and over how P.Jameson brings so much emotion into her work, the firecat's stories are powerfully emotional, more so than other works I've read. There is horror, agony, terror, utter devastation sorrow, tenderness, pride, adoration and worship, the list goes on and on and those are just what the reader goes through!
Monster made me cringe in places, his thoughts and feelings are so horribly raw that every word felt like hitting a nerve. I wanted to wrap him up in some form of protection, anything that would protect that beautiful heart from any more pain.
And what a twist in this massively twisted story.

Wow -this is the book for anyone feeling broken or damaged. It proves it scars, badges of honor to prove you are a warrior!
Monster scared from years of abuse. His father tormented him to make him stronger - no tears & a fighter. Terrible sickness delivered to children when a parent suppose to protect them. Vegas or number one held captive. The story pulls at your heart strings. The story is fast paced & filled with many hurdles to challenge through as a new clan. Caught in a web
I was ready to quit the series mid read thinking its more of book one and not enough to make me read book 3. Pinky holding and fingertip touches (incert eyerolls)!!. Have to admit, every time that man-beast thought things were OK and Vegas crawled under the bed, I literally lol'd!!
BUT THEN, Skittles spaźed out then we got Ice Lion and 2 other Fire lions??
Now, like a car accident you cant look away from, I just HAVE to see what Skittles story brings. He is in love and consumed with an idea to the point he broke his curse!
Just hope she is deserving of such passion!

This is book 2 of the series. If you haven't read the first let me explain what is going on. The Alley Cats were cursed after their huge fight with the Junkyard dogs, by the sorcera. The only way to get their cats back into them is to fall in love. This one is Monster's book ad he falls for Vegas after Marlee escaped from Bastian a really bad drug dealer. Ok, enough you need to read it. Excellent characters and the way Monster tries to bring Vegas around to feeling safe is just inspiring when it comes to being broken. Great book looking forward to the next one.

Fire and Ice
I liked this story much better than Heart of Gold. The series is back on track for me. Monster and Vegas were a perfect combination of vulnerability and strength. The story had a nice little mystery to it. Nothing over the top crazy mystery. I love P. Jameson. She is a fantastic writer who gives you enough of everything mixed together to make a great story. Heart of Ice—P Jameson – Monster goes undercover to rescue Marlee’s friends from Bastian’s clutches. They can’t get the last girl out, but Monster has the chance to start healing Vegas and vice versa. But they Alley Cats are in for a big surprise because Vegas has secrets in her past that are going to be really important! And Mama holds the key to family secrets that the Cats never thought to ask! My only bug with this series and book, is that the dolls are so vulnerable and it feels a little like they're taken advantage of. Which isn't really what happens but it sort of is.
This sort of isn't the case with Monster and Vegas. As shes a shifter also so it sort of rights the vulnerability bit as she saves their necks a little so shes strong too.
The romance is fast, it does feel quick but its nice.

Book 2 of an excellent series
This series is about becoming better than you were. Ok, it's about shifters cursed by witches and unable to shift until they become better people.
A picture of Vegas lets Monster know she us his fated mate. But to get to an HEA there are bad guys to fight, innocents to rescue and trust to be built.
All thus packaged in a story that is hard to put down.

Worth the wait
Oh this book was amazing. The author needed extra time to get it done, but Monster and Vegas’ story was fantastic. They both had such deep deep issues, secrets they needed to uncover, and personal demons to overcome, but they are so perfectly imperfect, and I fell so in love with Monster (and have a serious girl crush on Vegas!).

Wonderful!
I love the Firecats!!! Monster finds his mate in Vegas. Monster and the Ally Cats go to rescue the Dolls from that nasty piece of work Bastian. Monster gets so much more than he ever thought possible, and so does Vegas! Absolutely a beautiful, heart wrenching love story. I can't wait to read Skittles story!!😊😊😊

Ever read a story that put you emotionally through the wringer? Ms. Jameson accomplished that with Monster and Vegas story.
I love a book that doesn't hold back on the emotions of the characters. Each book that I have read by this author has made me crazy for her characters especially the most damage ones. Hanging with them as they work out how to be together.

An Intriguing Read

Vegas known as One is being held captive with a few other girls. Her guard is called Monster. Monster's inner Cat is telling him Vegas is his mate. He needs to free her and the others, and show her he's her mate. Only Vegas has a secret nobody not even she knows. Great read.

What a great, long-awaited new chapter in the Fire cats series! The longing, fear, and hope that exists for all these characters is truly heartbreaking yet wonderful! I loved getting to know the Alley Cats better and finding the small clues throughout the book that led you to what's coming next. ..

Amazing details!
I enjoy books where everything isn't picture-perfect. The description of the main characters and finding love just reels me in! The only thing for me is, in my mind the description of Monster doesn't match the cover of the book lol.
