Ever said the wrong thing and wished you could take it back? Ever find yourself unable to say the right thing, only to find you think of the ideal comment long after the moment has passed? Alex was exactly this sort of person. He thought he was happy enough, married to an attractive but conservative woman, going each day to safe but unrewarding job, and occasionally going to the pub with his much more successful mate from school.
That was until he found the unwanted Christmas present from his wife possessed a unique and phenomenal feature. The watch, which he had resented for looking nothing like the one he’d requested, allowed him to turn back time by a minute. One minute. No more, no less.
Alex sets about utilising it to his advantage by manipulating circumstances at both work and home. But he soon finds his ambitions are not just limited by the very specific and short amount of time the power affords him. Without being able to see the longer term consequences of his actions, he increasingly finds himself in situations where he is out of his depth.
Join Alex in his race against time to prevent him ruining his life.
I’m a British author covering a variety of genres but one thing links them all: concerns with the humanity. Whether it’s the greed of individuals, happy to risk what they have in the pursuit of more, or people’s indifference to the ills that blight society, so long as they are not directly affected themselves, each of my books has a dark undertone.
I don’t write to change the world but perhaps my work serves to shine a spotlight on those aspects which trouble me the most. What I really seek to do is to entertain and engross. Literature finds itself with ever more competition with the different ways people can fill their leisure time, and yet no other media can spark the imagination in quite the same way.
A good plot can only become compelling if the characters are rich and varied. My books are always written from their perspective and whether you find yourself rooting for them or not, you will care what happens. They are, similarly, single greatest thing that keeps me writing. I may have created these people but they take on a life of their own and often surprise me with the directions they choose.
If you are a voracious reader who can’t get through the day without picking up a book, or just someone seeking a dose of fiction to accompany them beside the pool on holiday, there is much to find and enjoy in my work.
I was suprised by how much I enjoyed this book, it's well out of the realm of something I would normally read. That said, I really liked the modern references, how very 2018 it was, and I enjoyed the easiness that generally appeared between Alex and Lorna. I've heard similar things from my fiancee that Alex felt about Lorna, it was kind of nice to hear them between other people (even fictional). The only thing I really disliked about the book was how the author assumed that the reader knew about marketing. I know absolutely nothing about it and occasionally felt left out by not knowing what on earth was going on or what something meant. (In regards to other readers, I'm sure some DID enjoy reading something they are familiar with that, I at least, haven't seen regularly.
Thank you to Voracious Readers Only for the connection between myself and the author and ultimately this book. Also I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review via Voracious Readers Only.
I just love time travel stories and while the time travel in Never Mind, Just Rewind is relatively small it was still very interesting. I found the main character Alex, a little nerdy but endearing especially with his relationship with his wife, Lorna. At times you felt like giving some advice to Alex - like AHH! Don’t do that!! However, I guess that added a bit of extra drama to the story. The story flowed really well except for the fact that I don’t really understand the game of pool and gambling in card games in a Casino didn’t hold my attention, however even given I skipped through these parts it didn’t detract from the story which, overall, I found well written and with an interesting and well developed plot. I would have like to know more about what happened Alex’s mate Craig - or is there a sequel?
Thank you to author Denver Murphy for an ebook copy of Never Mind, Just Rewind to read and review.
I received a free copy of this book from Voraciousreadersonly, and was drawn into the premise. How many times have you done/said something stupid and wished to take it back? Never mind, just rewind takes you on a short journey focusing on one man facing just that question and taking the consequences. Could you resist the temptation if you got the chance?
I was instantly gripped by the original concept of having precisely a minute in hand and then enjoyed the various scenarios into which the protagonist created. I read the novel in a state of tense suspense which kept me turning pages. I suspect that should such an object exist, the consequences would be very much along these lines!
I could not put this book down. The characters are endearing and engaging. Surprises in the plot are many. It touches on human character flaws most of us have encountered at one time in our lives. It’s a very good read.
I really enjoyed Never mind, just rewind. It is a different twist on time travel. It was interesting to see all the things that the main character did with the watch and the one minute of time travel and to follow the consequences. The book is well written and the characters were relatable. I found the book difficult to put down. A great book to read. I received this book from the author through Voracious readers only for an honest review.
What if you could turn back time? Something you said, Something you did, turn time back and 're do it till you get it right. Seems like the perfect solution that most would snap up but not is all it seems! A minute is all it takes!
Very intriguing read. Loved it 😁. Given free by the author via voraciousreadersonly.

I enjoyed this book and the twist of going back a minute into time as Alex did. This focuses mostly on the main character Alex who was a little boring but used the watch to time travel to his advantage.
I would recommend reading this if your looking for something a little different to read.
