Holy heck in a hand basket! Yeah I said that. Have to come up with cheesy appropriate phrases these day so my reviews don't get rejected. Pity, though because I believe true expression is important. But whatever.
This book! This series! This author!
When I discovered my first Coming To Carson book, it was exciting. I had never read this author and finding new authors to love is always a great experience. Renee Harless quickly became a fave for me to the point that I frequently stalk her pages. I have to make sure I don't miss any new release info. An important aspect for me when reading is that I need the feels. I don't have to have them all, but I do need a balance. A book with just tragedy and angst is not a "go to" for me. However, if there is a good amount of suspense as well as humor, I'm sold. And for me, that is what the Coming To Carson series establishes. I would categorize this series as romantic suspense with humor, a quirky, loyal small town, a mix of fun and serious secondary characters, plenty of sexy moments with the perfect amount of tension and an amazing HEA. Of course I will say that each new book is my favorite, lol.
While all of the books I have read by this author have a steady pace, I found Coming Unplugged had a faster pace. Once I picked up my Kindle, I could not put it down. Oh, no. There is so much excitement in this one that I had to keep reading until I got my happily-ever-after. The point I am trying to get across it this.....Renee Harless is an author you should add to your "must read" list.
Ryker and Norah.....
Ryker and his twin Jameson are the last of the Connolly family to have books. This is Ryker and Norah's story. I believe Jameson will be next. And while that is the end of the family, there are a few citizens in Carson that I can only pray, Renee Harless will give attention to.
That said.....Ryker is a famous rock star who just recently decided, along with his band members, to take a break from touring. Ryker loves his career but lately, as he watched his siblings find love, he feels as if he is missing out. Ryker is very close to his family. That was another aspect I loved about this series. The closeness and loyalty between the Connolly family was amazing. Though Ryker is only 23 years old, he has a much older soul. He is very mature and his persona was realistic despite his young age.
Norah is more of an introvert. While I found her personality to be intelligent, independent and sweet, Norah was innocent in many ways. I enjoyed watching her fall in love with a rock star.
So I have to say this....the dynamic between Ryker and Norah is electric. I can best describe their attraction as instant love/lust. Truly, this book takes place over the course of several days. Ryker and Norah fell instantly in love. While this may be cheesy for some readers, I loved it. There was so much going on in the book, ie: danger, suspense, that I never felt their relationship too over the top. Hey, if I was Norah I'd fall in love with Ryker immediately as well. You should realize, that this is book six in the series and throughout the other books, we get glimpses into the other family members lives. So I already knew Ryker. I knew he was a great character and would be an even greater hero.
I could go on and on about this book and my love for this series. I won't though. I want you to experience Ryker and Norah without any spoilers from me. This series does not have to be read in order. However I recommend it. You will love the quirky, protective town of Carson and it's loyal citizens.
The burb will give you enough perspective to interest you so I won't summarize this book in this review. All I can add here is that I loved it and I hope you will too. If you haven't yet read this author, it's time to change that.

Sometimes the person you were destined to be with has been there all along, but you didn’t meet them until you desperately needed each other.
Ryker is at a crossroads in his life and he wasn’t sure what he wanted to do next. His band Exoneration may be taking a break from touring, but he still needs to come up with new music, and right now he is experiencing writer’s block which has left him very discouraged. His pages are empty of words and his mind is in need of a spark to get him writing again. Ryker has never had a serious girlfriend and he is envious of his siblings who are in loving relationships which has made him realize that this is the direction he wants his life to take. Perhaps if he meets his soulmate, his one true love, she will be the one to reignite and nurture his musical soul.
Norah had been best friends with Jameson since their freshman year in college and she trusted him completely, which is why she ran to him when her life was in danger. She had attended many family gatherings with him but she had never met his brother Ryker, who was always on tour with his band. Norah had a huge crush on him when she was in high school and she even had his poster on her bedroom wall. As she was explaining her predicament to Jameson, she looked over his shoulder and was met by an intense gaze from the hazel eyes of Ryker James, sexy rocker and the star of many of her dreams. Time stood still and her heart was pounding and all she could say was, “Ryker.”
As Ryker and Norah become closer will he be able to protect her from the danger that is following her and keep her always in his heart?
I am definitely a romantic at heart and I hope that dreams really do come true, so when I sat down to read “Coming Unplugged”, I was rewarded with a passionate story of endless love, tenderness and complete devotion. The characters drew me into their story from the first page and I couldn’t put the book down until I was finished. We all need positivity and love in our lives and this book tugged at my heart and made me smile. I am definitely looking forward to the next book in the series “Coming Home”, which features Ryker’s twin brother, Jameson.

Oh, how I want Carson NC to be a real place! And if Exoneration was an actual rock group, I'd download every album simply because I'm in love with Ryker!!

I loved seeing Ryker's true side. The reputation of the womanizing rock star put to bed, and the sweet, devoted, and protective man brought to the surface. I wanted to slap Jameson when he pulled the stunt that resulted in he and Ryker coming to blows in the front yard. What was he thinking? I love how the family rallies around their own and circles the wagons!! I know at some point this series will have to come to an end, but I'm nowhere near ready!! I need more!!

Reading Rykers story has been bitter sweet because I know my time with the Connelly’s is coming to an end! I have grown to love this amazing family sooo much and the town of Carson is one I absolutely adore!
Though it’s bittersweet this is one of the siblings I have been dying to read about because Ryker is the one brother that’s so mysterious! I have wanted to know who he is and what he is about since book 1!! He’s the twin cast in the shadows and he has embraced it! He’s full of so much love and emotion! You can feel that as he creates his music but he finds his light through the silent, sexy nerd Norah!
Though she is a studious woman don’t let that fool you! Norah is so much more than books and code! She is strong when she needs to be but she also has a loneliness within her that can only be filled by live but can she find the right person to fill that void!?
From page one I was sucked in and couldn’t put this book down! Harless is a wiz at creating romances weaved with suspense! Each character is brought to life through her words and I’m not just talking about the hero and heroine! I have grown to love this family and this town because Harless does superb at brining each and every character that comes across the page to life! Each has a story and you can’t help but fall in love with all of them (except for the occasional jerk)
I look forward to more from the family though I know the list is limited (I think just Jameson is left)!

Coming Unplugged is a fast paced wild ride that had me intrigued from the start. There is so much happening right from the second you start reading that it feels like you’re instantly thrust into adventure that is quickly filled with some deliciously steamy romance. This book has it all from secret government projects, to sexy rockstars, to crazy intense instalove. Needless to say, I had fun reading this.
Norah and Ryker have one of the sweetest romances even with all the action that is going on in their story. And believe me there is A LOT going on. Between government secrets, a surprising twist with secrets from the past, and Ryker’s rockstar status the suspense and action are neck and neck with the speed of Ryker and Norah’s quickly growing love. There’s a lot of swoon, a nice sizzling heat, and a great group of family and friends all tied in with the mystery that keeps you hooked.
Norah and Ryker have one of the sweetest romances even with all the action that is going on in their story. And believe me there is A LOT going on. Between government secrets, a surprising twist with secrets from the past, and Ryker’s rockstar status the suspense and action are neck and neck with the speed of Ryker and Norah’s quickly growing love. I’m a little confused about this book. It feels like too many tropes competing and none of them really fit. You have a rockstar romance, brothers best friend, mafia/suspense, and small town. It’s a lot in what isn’t a long book.
I also felt like things happened too fast and were resolved too easily. I also felt like things were so far fetched that it pushed it into unrealistic territory.
Individually I liked Ryker and Norah, they work as a couple too, but I’m not sure their circles mesh well.
I think if things were pulled back a little, a little more realistic the book may have worked better. Sorry!

I absolutely love the Connelly family and the town of Carson, NC! The 6th book in this series is about Ryker Connelly, aka the hot, sexy, famous, Ryker James as known by the fans of his band Exoneration, and Norah, Ryker's twin brother, Jameson's best friend. They have known of each other for years, but only just meet at their sisters wedding as she literally comes running in needing Jameson's help. She's in danger and Ryker is in love at first sight. Literally, his protectiveness of her happens as soon as he notices she is in some sort of trouble. I love the story and I love the couple, but things seemed to happen too fast for me. We've seen bits of pieces of who Ryker is throughout the series, but I wanted more insight. There was definitely excitement, danger, romance, and the alpha male, but I think I wanted more-or maybe just wanted it to last longer! Either way, this family and these boys have me from beginning to end! I can't wait for the next one, although sad that it is coming to an end.

Coming Unplugged is book 6 in the Welcome to Carson series. I recommend reading from the beginning so you know the characters.
I really enjoyed the story line- a band singer and brother's best friend falling in love mixed with emotions and can't forget the love scenes.
Ryker and Norah are my favorite characters!

Wow words cannot explain this book every time I read this series I’m like dang this book is good and the book blows me away even more! Norah seems to be in some trouble so she finds herself going to a town where her best friend Jameson is and his twin brother is also. Can they help her and we might see some other characters from their family. Loved Norah and rykers story!

This book had me intrigued from the beginning. I love these characters. I have been waiting on this book since I finished the last one (book 5). Norah and Ryker will heat up your Kindle. This was an action packed, emotional ride. This family will have you falling in love with them.

Another great read by Renee. It was a little bittersweet reading Ryker's story because I know my time with their family is going to be coming to an end soon, and I love all of these characters so much.

Coming Unplugged, was a great read. Norah is Jameson Connoly's best friend, and she comes to him because she is in trouble. Jameson' s twin brother, Ryker, the music God of the band Exoneration gets to meet Norah for the first time. Ryker and Jameson will do everything they can to help keep Norah safe. Can they make sure nothing is going to happen to Norah? Come back to Carson , and find out. .....

Warning: DO NOT pick this book up and think you can put it don’t for one second.... It won’t happen. Why? Because you are going to want to keep reading Coming Unplugged until you’re finished. Yes. It is THAT good!!
I’m a huge fan of Renée Harless and the Welcome to Carson series and every time a new book comes out in this series it instantly becomes a favorite. Ryker and Norah’s story is no different for me. I absolutely loved it and I couldn’t put it down.
While I think this book can be read as a stand-alone if you find it absolutely necessary, I wouldn’t recommend it. Only because you’d miss all of the incredible moments that make up and shape the Connelly family and the town of Carson.

I love how fast paced their story is. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. I couldn’t put it down and absolutely hated that I started it on my lunch break. Big. Mistake. There were twists and turns in this book that I really didn’t expect. I used to be one who was always on the fence on stories of insta love but this series, and this story, have completely changed my mind. Renée has a way of sweeping you into a story so completely that you can’t help but fall in love with the characters. I love that when I picked up Coming Unplugged I was transported into Ryker and Norah’s world and I got to watch everything unfold right before me. If Carson were real I’d pack my bags today!!
I was blown away with how good Ryker and Norah’s story was and you really need to read it for yourself. You won’t regret it.
I’m a huge fan of Renée Harless and the Welcome to Carson series and every time a new book comes out in this series it instantly becomes a favorite. Ryker and Norah’s story is no different for me. I absolutely loved it and I couldn’t put it down.
While I think this book can be read as a stand-alone if you find it absolutely necessary, I wouldn’t recommend it. Only because you’d miss all of the incredible moments that make up and shape the Connelly family and the town of Carson.

I've always had a soft spot for the best friend's brother romance. It may be the excitement of the sense of doing something that's typically seen as forbidden, or it could be that I had one of the biggest crushes on my best friend's brother ... either way they tend to pull at my heart strings. Throwing in the fact that the brothers were twins (again a weakness of mine) and the love a rockstar , hot damn I was prepared for something that made me feel all of the feelings. Alas, the only feeling my heart felt was frustrated.
Norah is intelligent, witty, independent, and sweet. She gives her best friend Jameson a run for his money when it comes to the brain department. There are times she feels so fierce and experienced, but then there are times where seems innocent and fumbling through the motions of a relationship. Though she's never met her brother's best friend, she's always had a crush on him and boy did she get to live out that crush.
Ryker gives off the old soul vibe. He has done nothing but eat, sleep, and breathe his band ... but what happens when the band decides to take a hiatus? Ryker is left confronting his desire to be loved and the need he feels deep down inside to feel that special connection he has witnessed those close to him experience. He is intense and not afraid to go after what he wants. His twin is his best friend and he's always thought that nothing could come between them, until his Snow White princess comes rushing into his life.
The tender and intimate moments between Ryker and Norah were beautiful. Their love was quick and full of action, but those moments in the dark with just the two of them were so sweet and loving. I just wanted to usher them away from all of the bad so that they could blossom together without interference. A moment I really loved was when Ryker got out of bed early in the morning to strum on his guitar to work out the song that inspired him while he watched Norah sleep peacefully in his bed.
I wanted to love this book ... but by the end of the book I had experienced so much whiplash that I considered to take a trip to the doctor to see if my neck suffered severe damage. There were so many tropes being thrown into the plot, that none of them got to really breathe and develop for me. All these tropes at times would take me out of the story because it was just feeling to unrealistic and they weren't working cohesively for me. There was just too much going on for me personally, and I would've like a little less plot points that were more flushed out.
I'm a believer in showing someone you love them can mean a lot more than telling someone. Don't get me wrong, I love love and a well timed "I love you" ..... but there were too many for me in this case. It was almost like every other thing they said to each other was "I love you". It was used so much that I eventually felt that it was being said just as a filler and to try and convince themselves that that was what they were really feeling.
Individually I enjoyed Norah and Ryker, and they work as a couple too, but the overall plot of the story was just too much for me. For me personally, I would have liked to slow down a bit and seen how they developed without all the different times of chaos coming at them. If you are someone who likes a fast paced love full of action packed moments (not necessarily sex) and plenty of twists and turns, then this will be a book for you. Alas for me, I get a little car sick on winding roads.

When I first started to read this series, I've never expected something like this. First we got Ryker, a member of a band and second, we have Norah, who worked in a device for the government and got in trouble. Two (totally) different persons, both are the opposite. I think this point made the book so great, so catchy!
Jameson, Ryker's twin brother is the bridge between these two, who supports a lot Norah in her work. He is a important character for this book, - like the others - , but I can't deny his role, in my opinion, he was the "key" to make Ryker have his attention on Norah.
Like I said early, I really enjoyed both main characters being so different by each other, I really enjoy the way that the author puts Norah and Ryker together. Ryker is really protective guy with her, she's basically fighting with her life and he wants to make sure she won't be hurted in the end. Can I call this real love? Yes, I can. It is, right?
This mix of hotness and protective males is really cool, sounds more natural to me. Like always, Renee Harless show us another great story, really catchy and unexpectable.

Coming Unplugged by Renee Harless is book 6 in the Welcome to Carson series.
As much I loved the idea of a sassy nerd that gets caught up in a super secret project and the hot alpha male that’s drawn to protect her, it just fell a little flat for me. I just got stuck on the fact that everything happening to Norah in the beginning was so convenient and less believable and that may have coloured how I felt about the rest of the book. I also found it hard to believe, that given the parties involved, that Ryker had never met or even seen a picture of Norah.
Now onto the good stuff.
I love Norah. She’s strong, smart and independent, quick thinking and handles herself.
There’s plenty happening in this book, steam, action, suspense, all making it a good mix.
The Connelleys as a family are awesome too, it’ll be sad when it all comes to an end.

When Norah has to run for her safety when her secret government project is stolen, she runs straight to her best friend Jameson and crashes a family wedding to get to him. His best friend's twin brother is a rock star. Ryker, as soon as he sees Norah, feels an instant connection to her and she brings out his alpha protective nature.
Norah is fiercely independent so having to ask for help and rely on others is not easy for her. She brings out Ryker's over protective side and finds him wanting more with her.
This was certainly action packed. If you are looking for a read that will get your heart racing then this is the book for you. Whilst the story felt a little far fetched, I didn't really care as I was fully immersed in its twists and turns.

This is one of my favorite series. While there is a lot of passion and a little danger with the couple featured, that isn't why I love reading about the Connelly siblings and their significant others. I love the fact that there is instant family and support with whatever comes their way: love, babies, running from trouble, etc. And while it seems convenient that the family seems to have a connection to help keep them safe, it makes it for a fun read. I like that Ryker isn't a super alpha, even though he is a rockstar, and the woman that he has his eye on is super-close to his twin. In a way, it's meant to be. It also happens to be fitting that Norah works for the government and is running for her life, amongst other things. I wonder what's in store next?

Another amazing story from the Welcome to Carson series, where you just wish you could pack your bags and move to that great small town. Renee really brought Ryker's story to life in Unplugged. This story really took an unexpected twist making this already addictive series, unputdownable. Renee Harless brings the vibrant personalities of the Connelly family to another level with each book.
This story is on a category of its own; having a mix between second chance, insta-love, brother's best friend, a hint of mafia suspense and rockstar romance all into one. A great mix with an outstanding result! Loved Ryker and Norah!! I feel like I've been waiting forever for my favorite computer nerd, Jamison's story. I can't wait to see what Renee has in store for us next.

I know I say this about all of the Welcome to Caron books, but this is my favorite. Ryker is the hot Rockstar who every girl wants to get with, and Norah is the smart girl who is best friends with Ryker's twin brother Jameson. Norah has known the family for years, but has yet to actually meet the elusive Ryker. She knows all about him form his family, so it's as if she knows him all along as well. But when Ryker sees her for the first time, he is drawn to her and doesn't know why. But when your heart meets its match, it will do anything to keep it.
This book has all the right elements to it, and it is a must read.
