Librarian Note: This is the updated cover for ASIN B06XD67KFP

Detective Orlando Trovatelli is a glutton for punishment when it comes to matters of the heart and not even his shifter instincts can keep him on course.

It’s bad enough that he has feelings for the Vampire Queen, who is mated to one of the most powerful males of the Tehrex Realm, but then he falls for Jaidis, a mated cambion. He clings to the pathetic excuse that Jaidis’s mate is abusing her and the Goddess will reconsider and give Jaidis to Orlando in the end. He learns how wrong he is the night he arrives at Jaidis’s house to find her lying in a pool of her own blood while struggling to save her unborn baby. Orlando is prepared to move heaven and earth to save Jaidis’s life, but ultimately all he can guarantee Jaidis is that he will protect her unborn son.

Struggling with his new responsibilities, Orlando isn’t prepared to deal with the aftermath of the new archdemons. With his Omega on one side of the fence and Zander on the other, Orlando is forced to choose between his loyalty to the Dark Warriors and disclosing their existence to humans.

After everything Orlando has been through, he questions the Goddess and whether his faith in her has been in vain.

2 1/2 Stars. No love here. Orlando, the most lovable shifter in the whole series was robbed of his HEA. Ember was selfish. There is nothing that can be done to redeem her. Never disliked a female heroine more.

I love this series and Orlando is one of my favourite warriors, I did however struggle with Ember initially. She was so up her own arse and full of her own importance that it almost spoiled the book for me, (definitely not good enough for Orlando).
Anyway that is the purpose of working things through in a relationship and I would recommend reading this to see if Orlando finds his HEA :)

Hard to read as character was not likeable

The mated female in this book was a selfish non-likeable character. I was annoyed by Ember the whole story. She just didn't fit with the rest of the characters or storyline. Very disappointing.

Sometimes you just think you know what you want

Orlando is feeling very unlucky at love. He knows it is pointless to mourn Elsie's mating with Zander, the two are obviously Rated Mates and meant for each other. He knows he is jealous of the concept of having a mate rather than the particulars of Elsie and Zander. When he met Jailais at the clinic and realized that the pregnant woman was being abused by her mate, he was angry that he can do nothing to help her. When Elsie has a vision that sends him rushing to Jailais' home, he arrives in time to save the baby but no one else. When she asks him to take the baby and keep him safe, he has no choice. He registers that the feline shifter who came to investigate the crime scene seems to be able to calm his leopard.

Ember is a cougar shifter who has a deep love of the shifter pack she belongs to. She is determined to become one of the elite warriors who patrol and guard the pack. When she meets Orlando for the first time she finds herself admiring this Dark Warrior who cares enough to agree to raise an orphan child. She hopes she will get a chance to jump his bones one day. Little does she know.

Though there are a lot of battles in this book as new demons arrive who don't seem to care about exposing the existence of the supernatural world to the humans, I found the relationship between Orlando and Ember to be the most interesting part. They might be Fated Mates, but that doesn't mean it will be smooth sailing for their relationship even after the mating ceremony. Apparently even Fated Mates need some help fighting out how to live together.

I got this audiobook via a promo code and this is my voluntary review.

This book is a solo paranormal romance with a happy ending that is a part of a larger series with shared characters. You can read each book as a standalone. Though I recommend you read them in order so you fully understand the overall series storyline and main characters. On a personal note, I do feel Less emphasis should be put on trying to hook a reader into purchasing the next book and more concentration should be placed on developing the current plot. I definitely think this story did suffer because of it.

Orlando, a cat shifter, police officer, and Dark Warrior, is finally able to get past his desire to the wedded vampire queen in this instalment of the series. He is now pulled to a very pregnant, abused, and mated cambion.
Elsie foresees that the cambion's unborn child is in danger, so Orlando rushes to the house and discovers a dead man and a woman who is pregnant and is bleeding profusely. Her final request is for Orlando to look after and raise Brantley.
Orlando, who is grieving, hardly notices Ember, the new CSI, a cat shifter, but she notices him.

The narrator did a fantastic job of breathing life into this book and making this a fun and entertaining read.

Orlando & Ember

I got to tell you l was excited for Orlando to finally get a mate. After everything he's been through he deserves to have a fantastic one. However, I am not impressed with Ember. At first I didn't understand the vampire queens coolness to Ember. Further into the story it will make total sense. The goddess hit the nail on the head. That's all the hint I will give. Ok, I lie, she's selfish! And seems like all she cares about is her individual goals. She never once thought about how her goals should change after they get together. She never tried to get to know a single person important to Orlando. When she discovers she's wrong about things she takes forever to talk about them. At the end I would have blurted out how wrong I was even if it was in front of his family. I wouldn't want him to suffer any longer. I could have started talking about it on the way to the bedroom.

Orlando finally sees the light

Orlando is bitter with jealousy. He fell in love with Elyse but she is Zander's mate. Then he thinks he is in love with a mated and pregnant cambion who is abusedby her mate. When he goes to her house he finds a mess. She is barely holding onto life and her mate is dead. She makes him promise to take care of her child. She gives birth, names him then dies. Orlando begins to feel as if the godesses is against him.
Then he sees Ember and things start changing. She is part of Hayden's pack and is training to be one of the enforcers for the pack.
There is plenty of arguments and compromises in this book. Orlando also has to learn to let go and grow up in my opinion. But I still adored reading his story. I love all of the Dark Warriors and their mates!

The wrong mate

In this addition to the series, Orlando, a cat shifter, policeman and Dark Warrior, is finally looking past his attraction to the mated vampire queen. Now he's drawn to an abused, mated cambion who is very pregnant. When Elsie has a premonition that the cambion's baby is in danger, Orlando rushes to the residence, where he finds a dead male and a pregnant female who is bleeding out from her injuries. Her dying wish is for Orlando to protect and raise the baby, Brantley. In his grief, Orlando barely notices the new CSI, a cat shifter named Ember, but she notices him.

I didn't enjoy this book as much as others in the series, in part because I didn't care for Ember. It gets 3.5 stars. The Dragon King of Koth is up next and I'm curious how his search goes for his mate, missing for a millennium.

Another Dark Warrior Alliance book.

I was so happy to see another audiobook in the dark warrior alliance series - I had worried no more were coming.

We finally get to see Orlando's story - the poor guy - falling for your friends mate, then possibly meeting his mate - but she's married to someone else.

This story has some bumps along the way for Orlando and Ember.

I was worried after reading some other reviews that I would hate this book especially Ember- I didn't. Ember is a strong female who knows what she wants and who she wants and what she believes. Orlando has other responsibilities, will they be able to work things out, be together, be mated?

Another great book in the series. Plenty of HOT HOT spice to keep me dreaming and warm.

I received this audiobook at no-cost. The gifting of this audiobook did not affect my opinion of it.

Leopard and Cougar fated mates

Enjoyed watching the pair go along the fated path.
Some minor issues. She is basically a CSI person and wants to be part of elite Shifter team? How is she going to do both?
Ending was to pat and quick after drawn out back and forth.
Last was the interruption once again by author with glimpse of future story. How about keeping it toward ending as peak. It’s annoying unless it has something to do with timeline of current story. It messes with flow.

Disappointing

The female lead us a selfish bitch. She judged everyone not a shifter and even after the Goddess tells her SHE needs to learn compassion and compromise she makes Orlando give up everything. I have read reviews washing why they need to live together and considering the battle at the end i think that explains it.
Ember never tried to get to know about Orlando's life of friends and wants everything to be about her. This is the only book I wished that the female lead died before the ceremony because Orlando would really be better off.

Orlando is my fav and so glad to finally read his story. Orlando seems to fall for the wrong mate until he meets Ember. I liked Ember and Orlando together but I really didn’t get why Elsie couldn’t stand her from the beginning. Orlando gave up so much and Ember finally realized she had to do the same. Great read that always has me reading non stop and I absolutely can’t get enough of how sweet Izzy is.

I have been provided with a copy of Shattered Warrior by the author for an impartial review. This is the eleventh book in the Dark Warrior Alliance series and it's time for Orlando to find his mate. Orlando's journey just tugged at my heartstrings I was so invested in him and his journey with his Fated Mate. I just loved getting to see this take place it was just a truly beautiful story. I can't wait to read the next book in the series.

Orlando loved his queen, but realised she belonged to Sander, as his mate.
Then he has this attraction to Jaidis, a very pregnant, battered mate of Kenny. He reeled that attraction in, and hoped his appearance at the house hadn't caused further issues between her mate.
However, this episode explain a few things that did not add up, until now. This episode explain a lot and Orlando finally gets his HEA.

Selfish

The authors always give us a good story . I would have given it a 5 star rating but I didn't like Orlando's mate. When she finally started realizing how selfish she was being it was only given a few pages and the story ended. I was left with unresolved feelings toward Ember.

Man I was so excited that Orlando was finally getting a mate. It has been so hard reading all the torment that he went thru giving his heart to women that weren't his. And then comes Ember. Man I hated her. The only saving grace she had was her decision at the end of the book. How could someone who claims to love you be so dang on selfish.

3.5 stars. Shattered Warrior is the eleventh book in the Dark Warrior Alliance series. You can read each book as a standalone. Though I recommend you read them in order so you fully understand the overall series storyline and main characters. There is violence and sex. I have enjoyed the books in this series and intend to read more of them.

First One I Disliked

The heroine in the book just ruined it for me. She is so unbelievably selfish it's not funny. I looked forward to Orlando's story since the beginning was was very let down. He deserved so much better. Definitely has to make myself finish the book. Ready to move on to the next

This was my favourite so far! I possibly say that every book but Orlando is just perfect and he’s been so unlucky in love and although Ember is a little bit of a selfish cow it’s nice to see him get his happy ending! Oh and the little pops of Izzy through these books are always a joy. Looking forward to The King of Khoth!

Brilliant Series

Shattered Warrior: (Dark Warrior Alliance Book 11) by Brenda Trim & Tami Julka. Orlando falls for feline shifter Amber, the packs CSI but Orlando considered the Dark Warriors his family and Amber thinks of her pack as her family. Although they are mates can they resolve the problem of where they will live.

Shattered Warrior

I really like this series. But I had a hard time connecting with Orlando and Ember. Not my favorite couple in this series. A new threat has emerged and I can't wait to see where the story goes.

Shattered Warrior

I'm not a fan of Ember, seems she has a helluva chip on her shoulder. I suspected she was his mate from they just met and like the others was pulled to him. I wonder who is next.

Wow!!!

I love the each story in this series has a different focus. Ember and Orlando go through some of the same issues we do. These stories are not your usual happily ever after stories. The characters have to work for it.

Proofread!!!

Interesting story. One guy - hung up on his supposed lost chances of love and a girl who is all about Pack and me. He opens his eyes; she loves the sex and they both compromise. Spell checking, editing, and proofreading would make it better.

A Must Read

Fantastic series. Each and every good would tell individual stops of the warrior markings but kept you intrigued with everything else going on around them. I have recommended this to my daughters.
