Forgive me for stating the obvious, but Alex and Aspyn have a romance that was years in the making. They owned each others hearts long ago, but friendship got in the way. Ten years on they cease their chance and begin something beautiful. Then life gets in the way. Cowboy Baby Daddy is a tale of lost time and second chances. For these two friends, love never sends to turn out right, until a surprise turns out to be the best chance they've ever been given. Claire Adams has a way with sweet and sexy. With a pinch of cute for good measure.

2.5/5 this was actually a good story but I just didn’t feel a connection between the main characters.

Didn't even finish the book
I made myself finish the first story in the book and had to stop. The story line was good, character okay, BUT the spelling and grammar errors out me off. I just couldn't continue. I think if it were to be re-edited it could be a lot better.

Finding The Light With A Second Chance
Claire Adams has a beautiful way of writing a story that will leave you holding your breath while turning the pages. The story of Aspyn and Alex is no exception to Claire's writing and a definite must read. Alex and Aspyn grew up together in the small town of Livingston Tennessee and are part of a group of friends known as The Fabulous Five. They have had feelings for each other for years but the fear of losing their friendship has prevented them from following their feelings. Alex left for a chance of college but after losing his father he enlisted in the service then went into working construction. Now ten years later he is back for their high school reunion and maybe getting a glimpse of Aspyn. A hot that beats any fantasy leaves part of Alex in Livingston without his knowledge. When a near death accident leaves Alex in the hospital for months and not a word to Aspyn he feels guilt and cowardice thinking surely Aspyn has moved on and he doesn't deserve her. It's been the years since the reunion and Alex is back to try and heal in the peace and quiet of his friend ranch. Secrets are revealed and Alex is trying to prove he is ready to plant his roots in Livingston and to live and accept life and responsibility and lay a claim on the only woman he has loved. Can he convince Aspyn to give him another chance or is she too stubborn for her own good?? The situation Alex and Aspyn find themselves in is no stranger to society but they will fight to overcome the obstacles in their way to find the light at the end ooh a very dark tunnel. I fell in love with all the characters in this book and was rooting for them as they found their way to happiness. If you love a second chance love story with a secret baby, sexy arm pictures, no cheating, his/her POV with a happy ever after, with electrical chemistry this is a book for you!!! I now have another great story and bonuses by Claire Adams in my collection!!!

l really enjoy reading books by Claire Adams, and this one did not disappoint. Aspyn and Alex grew up together in a small town in Tennessee. Both pines after each other all of high school, but neither acted on it for fear of rejection and/or the idea of ruining the friendship they had. Alex got a scholarship to go away to Texas for college and leave the girl he wanted. Aspyn chose to stay in Livingston to be with her mama and in the town she loved. Both continued on in their lives knowing something or someone special was missing. Alex never got close to anyone after leaving college, joining the military, and then getting a construction job in Texas. He never looked at what the future could hold if he put down roots. Aspyn has relationships, but never made a real connection with anyone in town. Alex and Aspyn reconnect during their 10 year high school reunion for one magical night. They got their chance to live out their fantasy and realized the reality of it was so much better. Alex has to leave early that next morning but assures Aspyn he wants to continue with her because one night was not enough. Little do they know fate has something different planned for these two. Alex is involved in a terrible near death accident at his construction site and is in the hospital for several months. He decides Aspyn is better off without him because of his injuries. During this time, Aspyn finds out that she is pregnant from their one night together and tried to get a hold him to let him know. Aspyn decides to raise the baby on her own without telling him and asks their friends not to tell Alex. Fast forward three years and Alex is returning to Livingston to find himself because he still is not whole after the accident. Aspyn now has to decide how and when to tell Alex about their daughter Kadi. Can Aspyn and Alex come together finally or will their personal demons keep them apart?

I tried to stick with the story, but I just couldn't continue. As mentioned, Ms. Adams is a a new-to-me author and wanted to give her books a try. The premise of Aspyn and Alex's story was a second-chance romance with a side of "secret baby." I usually try not to nitpick through stories, and let the focus be on the romance between the main characters, but the story was like it was written by a 15 y/o the night before the paper was due. The back story of the friendship between Aspyn and Alex was okay, but when it was time for the "reunion" it didn't really work for this reader. Who doesn't enjoy the "insta-lust" element, after 10 years with no contact and a couple of hours chatting, steamy sex in his hotel room? There were just too many issues that the main characters were given to be dealt with in the expanse of the story. Alex left town for college, didn't graduate, joined/left the Army, family issues (mother left early childhood), not close with father who eventually died, no contact except for a few email exchange with Carl, construction worker, accident after his one-night with Aspyn, dealing with PTSD, etc., etc., etc. Aside from the "secret baby" what connection did Aspyn and Alex have in terms of a relationship? They had brief moments to explain what transpired after the reunion night and all was fine?!!! I lost interest and stopped reading.

Aspyn and Alex grew up together but never really acted on the feelings they had for one another. Now with the reunion happening everyone is excited to play catch up with old friends and Aspyn can't wait to see Alex. Alex works construction in Texas but was lucky to get the time off to come to the reunion for one night. Sparks fly between him and Aspyn so when their friends leave for the night they ended back at his place. They shared a wild night and Alex promised it wasn't a one night stand for him however Aspin never heard from him again until 2 years later. Alex had been in a bad accident and couldn't take the nightmares anymore and came to stay with his friend Carl while deciding what he was going to do with his life. He knew that he wanted to see Aspyn but wasn't sure how she'd reacted to seeing him again. He had no clue that when he left that he also left a piece of himself growing in Aspyn. Will Aspyn give him an chance to explain what happened?
This was an amazing story once I started it I couldn't put it down. The chemistry between Aspyn and Alex was off the charts hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend it to any of my book friends.

This is one read that will hook you from the first page and reel you in for the duration. There's always that first love that no one else can compare. I received an Advanced Reader Copy of this book and here is my honest review.
This is the first book I have read by Claire Adams and it wont be the last, once I started reading I didn't want to put it down because I wanted to find out what happened.
The two main characters Alex and Aspyn went to school together and always had feelings but neither of them acted on it. They were part of a small group called The Fabulous Five. After school Alex moved away but comes back for their 10 year reunion. After spending the night together Alex promises they will keep in touch but he has to go back to work, Aspyn finds herself in a situation and needs to tell Alex, while she has left countless messages he doesn't respond so she goes on with her life. Alex had an accident at his workplace and spends moths in hospital, he lost his phone and doesn't know that she has been calling.
Three years later he turns up in town again, the big question is can she forgive him.
I don't want to give any spoilers away but can say it is well worth the read.

The Fabulous 5 with one leaving for college. Alex left for college his father passes away and he drops out and goes into construction. He left his friends for 10 years. Carl has him come back for a class reunion. Alex still loves for Aspyn, but can he reconnect with her? Aspyn stayed in town and works for Joe in the Mayors office. She is excited to see Alex again, but scared too. She hopes that they can catch up. Alex and Aspyn do hookup and he promises her more, but then there is a accident and he is seriously injured. When he finally heals except for nightmares he is to scarred to contact Aspyn. Been 3 years again and he comes back to town to heal mentally and stays with Carl. Aspyn had a child and scared of what will happen when Alex finds out. What will happen? Will she tell him? Will he accept the baby? Will they get past the hurt each caused? This was such a great book from Claire Adams! Ever have that hot crush back in high school that you just wish you could show everything he is missing now, ten years later? Well that is the start of this book. Aspyn gets more than she bargained for though. Three years later and he moves back to town. These two are in a rollercoaster trying to navigate the new lives they find themselves in. It was great readying about their fear and doubt, lust and family, and ultimately love. Absolutely great book! I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.

Aspyn
The first chapter I like Aspyn just fine but beyond that chapter I HATED her. Being in her head was exhausting one minute she think she lives Alex then the next she hates him. Alex did everything to prove to her that he was there for her and Kandace but Aspyn just kept putting up roadblocks. If Alex was my friend I would just told him to drop Aspyn ungrateful a@@. And go to court to set up a custody agreement. Everyone was telling Aspyn she was wrong but she just STUPID. I loved Alex eventhough he was battling his own demons he stepped up and didn't complain not once. We need more Alex's kn the world.

I loved the story and the characters. I highly recommend the reading.

Love delayed isn't love lost for Aspyn and Alex. They'd been crushing on each other since high school, but miss their chance. Things turn around when Alex returns for their high school reunion. Their chemistry returns as adults, and it isn't an easy road for this romance. Both Aspyn and Alex are really likeable, and it's awesome to see them mature. I don't want to spoil anything, but this romance is the best thing that could have happened for both. An emotional read that has sweet notes and drama, it's one that will be picked up again down the line. The author does a fantastic job with creating grounded characters. This is a voluntary review of an advance reader copy.

Oh boy I loved this story, reading the secret baby part you probably think, oh no, here we go again another secret baby, but this was so good, Alex and Aspyn were best friends in high school and though they were both attracted to each other, they didn't want to act on it in case it broke their friendship, however after hooking up at their high school reunion, Alex is involved in an accident and Aspyn is literally left holding the baby not knowing about the accident and him not knowing about the baby. When he does return can he persuade Aspyn that he wants to settle down or will her stubbornness stand

I liked the perspective of both of the characters. Loved the fact that Alex owned up to his mistakes and stepped up when the truths were revealed. I didn't blame Aspyn for being scared, but I was happy that she realized what was scaring her before it was to late. Good read!

Good read
This has lots of humor, romance, some angst, and loads of hot sex. The storyline is great, as well as the dialogue and characters. They were best friends in High School....And then he moved away. She has always had a big crush on him. 10 years later he comes back and they hook up. And he leaves with the promise of keeping in touch. He's in a horrible explosion and loses his phone. Meanwhile back home, she's pregnant and can't get in touch with him. Three years later, what will happen? Highly recommend.

Another outstanding story from Claire Adams. The characters and storyline are great and keeps you wrapped up the whole way through. With everything these two have been through, it’s tough to work out a relationship without some issues, but her issues are more than she’s willing to admit. She keeps getting mad a him for things he doesn’t, nor would ever, understand. I’m just glad they finally found their HEA. I’m voluntarily reviewing an advanced reader copy of this book.

Finished the book, but didn't feel the chemisty between the two main characters and wasn't as invested in their story as I had hoped. The arguments for being apart and holding back were flimsy and seemed a bit far fetched, almost like they were grasping at straws to find a reason to stay away from each other or to argue. It felt forced for me, like the author was trying to come up with some way to keep them apart and keep the story going.

So so
Cowboy baby daddy left me bored. I enjoyed it up until she got pregnant. Then the female and male just seemed to lose connection/chemistry. The only chemistry was their friends. Waffling back and forth on relationship drove me to put my kindle down. Wouldn’t even read the other stories in the book.
Cowboy baby daddy left me bored. I enjoyed it up until she got pregnant. Then the female and male just seemed to lose connection/chemistry. The only chemistry was their friends. Waffling back and forth on relationship drove me to put my kindle down. Wouldn’t even read the other stories in the book.

I had mixed feelings throughout this book. At times I felt like it was rushed and at times it was too slow... there were times Aspyn drove me insane and at times I totally understood her. I loved the scenes with their daughter and felt that the book overall had a good story it just needed some balancing...

I didn't agree at first that Aspyn didn't tell Alex that he was a daddy and then to make sure his friends didn't tell him either well I didn't like that either i think he had a right to know !!! But then there love for each other and then she told him that made me happy and the book became great thanks Claire
