description~WRITING - PLOT - PACE~
This book was bloody fantastic. I actually think it may be my favorite London Miller book to date. Alfie was everything...sigh. Miz Miller's writing is always excellent, so it goes without saying that this was another very well-written book. It was perfectly paced. It was a decent length page wise and took me around three hours to finish reading. It was told through both Alfie and Vera's POV. The plot was super engaging and kept me turning the pages. Last, it was all wrapped up in an ok HAPPY FOR NOW ending. There were some loose ends, so I suspect more books are coming. I assume we will be seeing more of this couple in those books.

~HERO~
ALFIE...Alfie was just perfect. From his name to his accent, to the way he dressed. I loved him.  In fact, Alfie is definitely in the top five of favorite book boyfriends ever! He was sexy as f-ck. He was bada$$. He was alpha. He was also sweet, and very much taken by Vera right from the start.

~HEROINE~
VERA...Vera was an excellent character as well. She was strong. She was sweet. She was feisty. She was independent, and she was very much taken by Alfie right from the start.

description

~SECONDARY CHARACTERS~
This book had a ton of excellent secondary characters. I suspect a few may get books of their own(?) I hope so, anyway. I was especially curious to read more about Siris (someone Alfie does business with) and Frances (Vera's friend and employee). I was also really intrigued by both of Vera's brothers. And, one of the loose ends at the end of this book concerned Alfie's sister (Feather) and Lachlan. I am super curious to see how that situation is going to play out.

~HEAT LEVEL~
Medium. There were a good amount of suitably spicy sex scenes in this one. The frequency felt organic to the story. This couple also has amazing on page chemistry.

~ANGST LEVEL - SEXUAL HISTORIES~
Lowish. There really wasn't much angst relationship wise here. This is what I would call an "insta-love" easy peasy type of read. At least as far as the relationship goes. This couple has a few bumps in the road, but they are pretty solid from the minute they meet. Neither were virgins. The past sex lives stuff is kept to a minimum. There was no OW or OM drama either.

~IN THE END~
I loved it. From the beginning to the end this one had me enthralled. The writing was fantastic. The pace was perfect. The plot was intricate and well developed. The secondary characters were interesting. The sex was hot. Vera was a pretty perfect heroine, and I simply ADORED Alfie. I really have nothing left to say other than you really should consider nabbing this one up ASAP.description

★ 3 stars!! ★

What do an underworld fixer and a mafia princess have in common? Utter chaos. Alfie Shelby grew up in the school of hard knocks in London and fought his way up to the top. He’s the go-to man for any of your needs. Need an exclusive weapon? He’s your man. Want to find your lunatic father to put him down? He’s got your back. He’s everything that Vera never knew she wanted. Vera figured out the hard way that the mafia lifestyle wasn’t for her. It only gave her pain and grief. So, she struck out on her own and created a brand for herself completely independent of her family. But she couldn’t get far. And as hard as she tried to live her life separate from the perilous one she grew up in, her heart led her right back to where she always belonged. Alfie may not be part of any one family, but he was far from a ‘good guy’. However, he ended up being the best guy for her.

How could I not fall in love with Alfie? He was so smooth. London Miller did a great job of bringing this character to life. From his cockneyed accent, his cut of suit, his swagger, his calm, his control, and his cane. That cane just made him even more perfect in my eyes. My love for Alfie gave me the ability to see everyone else in this book with rose-colored glasses. At times, Vera could be frustrating, but again, my love for Alfie made it impossible to be mad at her. I especially enjoyed the chemistry between these two. From their intensely hot first course to the push-and-pull they acted out to get to their forever, they were magnifique! With all of the side characters that were introduced to me in this book, I look forward to tons of stories to better understand these people. And hopefully I’ll get to see the charmingly deceptive Alfie again. I’m sure if Lachlan gets his tale, my hope will be a reality. Speaking of Lachlan… HOLY MOLEY!! I couldn’t get enough of him. This psychotic hot mess was scary AF and I hungrily ate up every moment he was given to me. I predict that as much as I loved Alfie, I might adore Lachlan more. That would be INSANE in the best possible way.

I feel like I gave enough of this story away. If you like your stories to be hot and dangerous, with incredibly tempting anti-heroes with the hearts of the fiercest of heroes, you won’t want to miss this one!

So, London went ahead and released Acquainted early and I was so not ready for review writing, haha. But here we are, and I will try to keep this as discernable and clear as I can because when I say I messaged this woman every single day (EVERY. SINGLE. DAY.) that she was writing Alfie and Vera so that she understood MY INBOX WAS THE FIRST PLACE THIS BOOK NEEDED TO GO WHEN IT WAS DONE ... well, I mean just that.

Some fair warning/disclaimer: way back when, like a couple years ago when we were younger and cooler and gave a damn about a lot of things, London and I did this crazy thing called Seasons of Betrayal. And if you haven't read it yet, you should 'cause we love it. But anyway ... we wrote that series together, and this cockney accented, English gangster named Alfie showed up on the page one day, and I was like, "What."

I never had this man's voice in my head - no matter how hard I tried (and I did try), Alfie was not my character to hear, or to write. He was always meant to be London's, and look at what she did with him. She gave him the words and the book he deserved, so what more can you ask for? I am beyond proud.

BUT for fairness and disclaimers, if that above makes a difference to you, then the rest of this review shouldn't make a difference and you don't need to continue reading. Move on.

Acquainted tells the story of Alfie Shelby and Vera Markovic. The English gangster, a fixer who can get you anything you need and make any problem go away ... and the Russian mafia princess with a bit of emotional baggage who isn't entirely sure Alfie is the kind of man she wants or needs ... even when he proves over and over again that he is EXACTLY what she wants and needs.

There's a push and pull.
A cat and mouse.

I loved that - it's what I was hoping for between these two. They have the greatest chemistry on page, and when they are together ... the thought, effortless, comes to mind.

And putting all of that aside ... we can talk about the side characters for a moment because if you aren't familiar with London and I ... well, we have issues in that characters can't be contained. So, we met a whole firm of boys, and an old partner of Alfie, plus some family.

And you know they're all gonna get books because if they don't die, then they get words. So, I greatly look forward to seeing where London takes this part of our world, and where they go from here.

AND FOR THE RECORD - I am still mad at Alfie, London.

YOU KNOW WHY.

*hisses* you know why.

For everyone else, read the damn book. And love it.

"Alfie Shelby could corrupt a saint."

Alfie Shelby, Alfie Shelby... my god!
5 giorni in Messico, solo sole, drink e relax. E incontra Alfie Shelby.

"[...] Not because I'm a good man with good intentions, but because I'm a bad one who loves you."

Personaggi ottimi, trama sviluppata a mio parere benissimo. E' stata una gran lettura.

FOR GOODREADS
ARC
Ahhh... Vera and Alfie! What a pair! A chemistry like no other, it's profoundly magnetic.

My love for organized crime/romance books is a little on the addictive side. As I will say this,I had high expectations for this book because the synopsis really intrigued me and I was literally refreshing my kindle, waiting for it to arrive but alas, Acquainted and my love story wasn't meant to be. I was a tad disappointed.

There is no point denying the fact that Vera and Alfie are an absolutely magnetic pair: their chemistry is the type that makes you envious.
Honestly speaking, I went into this expecting to read a book that's somewhere along the lines of books that I have read in the past: Rachel Van Dyken's Elite series or any book by the author, Bethany-Kris. But, It felt more romance... I wanted it to be more gritty.  I'll say this, I liked Alfie and Vera, together and as individuals.
Sure, there were parts in the book that made me go all "woh!" but besides that, it was rather mellow (excluding the bedroom scenes, of course hahaha).
Sure,I enjoyed the ending... but there is just something about it I did not enjoy, perhaps it was the lead up: too convenient?

My quest for more awesome mafia/organized crime related books is ever present... Acquainted just wasn't it for now..until then, Happy Reading!

"They met under summer showers....."

London Miller has done it again! Acquainted was exhilarating, fast paced, with a steamy explosive romance between Alfie Shelby and Vera Markovic. If you know me by now, I'm addicted to London's writing... especially when it comes to her Wild Bunch and Den of Mercenaries series. With reading London Volkov Bratva it does give a more in-depth to the world that Alfie lives in.

Vera is mafia royalty. A princessa. She was born into a life she would rather forget. Unbeknownst to her, while on a getaway Vera's life will change forever. Meeting a man who both inspires her and ruins her all the same.

When she realizes just who she let into her bed and life...
Chaos will follow.

"They fell in love when the leaves changed colors."

Alfie Shelby is a gangster you don't want to mess with. Typical play boy antics, he is known to getting what he wants. And his eyes are set on Russian Princessa, Vera. One thing is for certain... he will have her....No matter the cost.

Acquainted is a standalone that I more than enjoyed. I devoured it in one sitting. So many unexpected twists and turns that I didn't see coming. London Miller simply amazes me every time I read one of her books. If your looking for a steamy mafia read, look no further and read Acquainted.

I enjoyed this one, but nowhere near as much as I usually do with London’s books.

I had a few issues with the timeline which confused me a bit. I kept having to go back to see if it was me not reading properly. After Alfie and Vera’s meeting on vacation. A chapter starts with ‘3 months later’, Vera has been home for 3 months, but then a few pages later says it’s been a week since Vera returned home from vacation?? Yeah, confused me to.. There was a few bits here and there which had me wondering if it was weeks or months later..

Also, Frances, Vera’s friend was ‘Francis’ at one point.. Fair enough, only a tiny error, but after being confuzzled with the timeline, the Frances/Francis thing just bamboozled me more!

Anyway.. My moaning aside, I did enjoy the story!

3 stars!

THIS BOOK OH MY GOD!!!

Vera is a mafia princess who hates everything her father and his life stands for. She wants nothing to do with hi or his empire. On a much needed vacation, she meets his beautiful, sinister stranger who makes her crave so much. She years for him even after she comes back to her normal life. What she doesn't know about Alfie Shelby is that he embodies everything she hates about her father's business.

Alfie is a gangster roughened by his years of experience with thugs and mobsters there isn't much that escapes his notice. But he certainly noticed Vera Markovic and covets her with a violence he's never felt. He knows all about her and her family but that didn't stop him from going after her. Alfie is determined to keep Vera even if she doesn't know it yet.

You guys I love love love the stories London Miller comes up with. They give my heart this sort of sweet heartache that makes me happy and want to cry. The angst, the passion and all the forbidden feel to this story just made me want to keep reading it forever.

I absolutely adore Vera. I admire the way she figured out she couldn't possibly align herself with her father's business and instead of silently taking it all, she decided to step up and remove herself from the toxic environment. She stood up for what she believed it and made it happen for her. I'll admit, I was a bit frustrated with her at times but except for that I genuinely loved her character.

Alfie, urgh when he says "luv" my whole World stops and no it is not an exaggeration. I just really really REALLY LOVE Alfie, okay? I love how he is a roughened up criminal but still a smooth mofo when it comes to Vera. I adore the way he felt of Vera and GOD his intensity is off the charts hot. How can you not love him? He is charming, dangerous, caring and damn it so controlled. I LOVE IT! I actually swooned for five minutes straight with his first interaction with Vera and then showing up to see her in the rain?? THAT IS COMMITMENT PEOPLE!!! AHHH just so much love for this man. *ugly sobs*

Acquainted lifted my mood when I needed it most. I went into this story basically blind, with the limited knowledge of a forbidden romance within the world of organised crime. The suspense stemmed from the relationship and the onus was firmly in Alfie’s court to prove he was worth Vera Markovic’s going against her resolve not to be involved in her father’s world.

London Miller has created another swoon worthy alpha in Alfie Shelby. He was the perfect holiday hookup for Vera or so she thought. Their chemistry was instant and totally believable. I loved his stubbornness and gutsy attitude when it came to getting his way.

The struggle I had was with one of the secondary characters, Lachlan—Alfie’s old friend. I got he was an unpredictable live wire but he provided more of a distraction than an enhancement to the story. That was until the ending when I reconsidered my quick dismissal of him. It appears there maybe a bit more to the guy then I first thought.

Alfie is a fixer. He is yet to find a challenge he can’t meet except for Lachlan. He’s a constant thorn in Alfie’s side but he’s the only one Alfie gives a wide berth too. When he eventually oversteps the line, he forces Alfie’s hand. Alfie’s wrath drives him to lengths that surprised me. It took me by total surprise when he followed through on the plan he put into play for Lachlan. While not unheard of in their world, it was a clear turning of the tables I didn’t expect.

The tone of Acquainted leaned more towards romance than suspense. It told the story of a man fighting for a woman with no regard to her family’s approval. I could easily see Lachlan’s story being of a similar vein. It would be interesting if London could sway my opinion on an equally stubborn, unpredictable alpha.

London Miller is at it again, my fellow mafioso book loving friends. She’s given us another “no one messes with me or my woman” gangster hero and a strong, confident, can handle whatever is thrown her way leading lady.

Though Vera at first is very determined to stay steady on her course of avoiding anything related to her Russian mob family’s way of life, Alphie, the hero, blows those plans right out of the water when she sweeps him off his feet while on a brief vacation in Mexico. This guy is used to getting what he wants, folks, and he’s set his eyes, heart, and full attention on keeping Vera as his woman.

These two destined to be together lovebirds find love and happiness as their brief vacation fling ignites into something so much more. When unexpected people and events pop up that shake their world, it only seems to make them more determined to band together.

Ending with a happy for now conclusion, I’m left convinced we certainly haven’t seen the last of this couple or the great cast of sub-characters introduced here. Here’s to hoping they'll be back sooner rather than later.

I’ll end this short review by sharing a mafioso book loving tip. Though Acquainted is a stand-alone, it is a spin-off of the Seasons of Betrayal series by London Miller and Bethany-Kris. No, you don’t have to read these books in order to enjoy the mafioso magic in Acquainted, but you’ll become more fully acquainted with the mafia backdrop surrounding Alphie, Vera, and sub-characters who appear in this book. Besides, it's another great mafia series I don't think you'll want to miss. Acquainted's plot seems to have occurred on the sidelines/simultaneously as Seasons of Betrayal.

Title: Acquainted, Author: London Miller, Pages: 270, stand-alone but linked to another series (Seasons of Betrayal), mafia backdrop/violence, very steamy scenes with lusty language, romance safe, no cheating, no OW/OM drama, no love triangle, gangster hero, happy for now conclusion.

Conflicted

I am conflicted about this one. I loved the story! Alfie is just WOW! He is everything a strong woman like Vera needs. I love how he is very confident and alpha, but he isn’t an ass about it. He doesn’t need his minions around him to bolster his ego and he doesn’t take crap from anyone. I like Vera. She doesn’t just melt into the background after she meets Alfie. She takes him to task and set the limits.

How am I conflicted? Well we never get a handle on Alfie’s age. He mentions he is decades older then the cartel guy. That would make him in his forties? But he neither acts or is described as such. He also states he is older then Kaz and Rus. How old is he? I know it is a small detail, but his comments didn’t match his description and is Vera dating a guy her dad’s age?

Then the end is wide open. There has to be another book. There are too many loose ends.

Great book.

Tension-filled romance….

Alfie. That name. I didn’t really take to it until I got to know this Alfie. I could get lost in his confident manner and his way of making Vera the only thing he focuses on when he is with her. We know he is a fixer for anyone with the right price. His past is under a cloud. It should all matter but it didn’t. Not at all.

“He feared nothing. He lost nothing. Alfie was a gangster, through and through.”

Vera grew up in the middle of that world and distanced herself from her father completely while trying to keep the rest of her family close. She wanted nothing to do with the Mafia Bratva but little did she know the man she was falling in love with, defined it…

This author writes some of the best mafia romances I’ve ever read so this story grabbed my attention right away. If I compared it to other titles, I would say this is not as dark or gritty as ones I’ve read but that didn’t take away from this passionate and emotion-filled story. Mafia may be the genre, but it is the characters and the friction between them that stole this show.

“She wished it was that simple. That she was just a girl, and he was just a guy, and it didn’t have to be any more complicated than that.”

Of course, that is not the case as the complications keep piling up along with tension that built to a delicious high. That tension was distracted in the latter chapters of the book as resolved issues made way for new ones. Intriguing, intriguing new ones. With a focus on the secondary characters, they distracted but also teased about what is to come. Cue happy dance!

Oh my London

I love the tittle. The cover. The story itself. Every single thing.

It took me a while to finish it and no 'cause the book was bad or something. (I moved to another country). And let me tell you. This book was everything and more.
Love the author's writing. When I think London Miller can't surprise me even more, she surpasses all my expectations.
Need more from the author as always. I just wanted keep reading and reading. I want to live in that head of hers too.

Vera & Alfie.
This Mafia romance book was impossible to put down, captivating and sexy. It keeps you glued to the pages of this fascinating story. From the very first page.

highly recommended.

I really like this author's work, her dark mafia world. But I'm sorry to say that I had trouble connecting with Acquainted. I thought the beginning was good, and I was excited reading forth. But...somehow, I just couldn't get into the story. Yes, it was a fast-paced story, and nothing wrong with that. However, it seemed that the author skipped writing about the relationship between the main characters. On one page, Vera is firm in her decision (trying not to give away spoilers) and in the next page, Alfie has gotten his way. And then they apparently are in a committed relationship...but all I have read; is that they have chemistry in bed...and nothing more.

Vera Markovic, I got the feeling she was a spineless pushover. I had hoped she would be a badass heroine, because of her background and her family...I was mistaken.
Alfie Shelby..an arrogant jerk. And not in a good way. We all love a bad boy with a big heart or a arrogant alpha... but Alfie was neither..

Miller is a great writer, and knows how to keep a reader in suspense and barely be able to put the book down. But for me, not this time.

My first intial rating once reading this was five stars. After my second time reading it I'll gently bring it down to four. While I still really like this story it didn't hit me as much as it did the first time.

This one from London is about a Bratva Princess whose cut all ties from her family's underworld life and has made her own name for herself meeting a man who to her is just a fairly normal toursit while on vacation by her self. Little does she know he's fully immersed in the world that she avoids at all cost. They have a whirlwind night, and a few months later meet again in New York and Alfie isn't letting her go. There are some other sub plots that go into this but I don't want to spoil or set expectations on the book so I'll leave those out.

Overall I love Alfie and Vera, but this time around this felt like a companion novel to the Seasons of Betrayal Series by London and Bethany Kris. Which I adore, so theres that.

Acquainted is the first book I read by author London Miller and I liked the book. It was a quick read, easy and entertained me.The characters here are interesting and The couple convinced me, I could feel the chemistry and connection between them throughout the book. The only thing that was missing here was the mafia aspect that I'd like you to be more present. But for the first book of this author was a good start and made me curious from now on keep an eye on upcoming books.

This was so different to your typical 'mafia' romance and definitely in a good way

I absolutely adore London Miller's Wild Bunch and Den of Mercenaries books, so that alone was enough to stir my interest in this book. I didn't realised it was about some of the side characters from her Volkov Bratva books, and do wonder if reading them first would have enhanced my enjoyment of this. There were a few times in this story where I felt as though I had missed some information, though I did read an arc so it may simply have been that the editing had not been completed yet.

Vera is a mafia printsessa who wants nothing to do with the life, even though her father doesn't respect this. On a last minute get-away break she meets Alfie, a sexy businessman, or so she believes. Whilst she knows nothing about him, her surname tells Alfie everything he needs to know about her......and the fact that she should really be off limits to him. Back in New York, Vera never expects to hear from Alfie again, not once suspecting that not only does he live in the same city, but he moves in the same circles as her family.

I really liked Vera and Alfie, they both felt very natural, real and very believable characters. I totally bought into their relationship and the chemistry between them is undeniable. One of the unusual aspects of this book that I really liked were the scenes that had been included solely for the purpose of demonstrating to us, and convincing us of, their growing connection to each other. There were some ups and downs and plenty of spanners in the works along the way, though overall this was a fairly angst free, as well as quite a light read.

I read an arc, so I can't say if the published version is the same, but I did really struggle with the time line throughout. On quite a number of occasions I had to flick back to try and work out how long a time had elapsed between different scenes or different parts of the story. The information seemed to be conflicting at times.

The story has some really good, and unexpected, twists and turns. It had more of a contemporary romance feel to it than mafia or romantic suspense, though that should not be taken as a criticism. This is still a well written, overall easy to read and enjoyable story. It does have some violent scenes, though fairly mild given the mafia setting of the story. There are also a couple of fairly steamy scenes between Vera and Alfie, though these were both tasteful and felt a very organic part of the story.

I was giving an ARC in exchange for honest review, thank you so much London Miller.

London Miller has a way with words. Well written. Amazing, I love it!!!!
She captivates you, and makes you feel every emotion her characters go through. Everything feels so real and authentic and that make you keep reading and wonder what’s in the next chapter. You can feel the passion this author has with her work, with her words.
I got caught since the first chapter and can’t put the kindle away, except to sleep for a few hours and go to work, yeap, that’s how good it is.
Alfie was a strong and very sexual character(those love scenes with Vera are just WOWWWW), but if there’s a character that I really desperately want to know more about it’s Lachlan, and I can just hope that Mrs Miller will come up with a book just for him, because I like to think that way deep under all the darkness there’s still something good in him.
Recommended a book sometimes its really, really hard, but when it come to London Miller books, it’s the most easy thing to do, you can’t go wrong with any of them, there’s not a single one that you regret or dislike. So if you haven’t read any of her books, you have no idea what you’re missing.

“No man waiting for you at home?” She blinked at the question and the serious note behind it. Everything about him was intense. The broadness of his shoulders. The intensity of his gaze. He was the sort of man who made you pay attention when he spoke without ever having to raise his voice. “I wouldn’t be here with you if I did.”
“Glad to hear it.”
“And you?” she asked, cutting into her steak. “Are you spoken for?”
“Not yet,” he said with a brilliant smile. She paused, knife and fork in hand.
“A bit cocky, no?”
“Give me a chance, and I’ll show you just how much.”

Wow, just wow! I always seem to enjoy this author, but this book was exceptionally wonderful. The characters were strong, funny, understanding and always stayed true to who they were. The plot took me on a roller coaster ride that I wanted to stay on and ride over and over.

Alfie and Vera.

I liked this book. I loved Alfie.
I would recommend reading the Kaz and Violet trilogy before reading this standalone book as it seems to run alongside the series time wise so you may get spoilers as things that happen in their books affect Vera as she is Kaz sister.

If you have already read the trilogy this book will be a must.
Vera has tried to distance herself from her family, esp her despicable father, and the 'business'.
Alfie is right in the middle of the 'business' as a fixer, with no actual affiliations to any particular family.

He was so loyal and protective of those he loved.
There were some excellent secondary characters that sparked my interest that the author has the opportunity to explore in future books.

There only negative for me was that it was mentioned a few times that Alfie had had more than his fair share of women in the past, or he had no issue saying goodbye to the many women he had.
I just felt if it was mentioned once that was enough he only has eyes for Vera and even though they have times of separation no other men or women are mentioned, so I think it was to show how different Vera was for him but I didn't feel the need to read about his past, not that there are any details or names. That's nit picking really as it's only mentioned in passing, by narrative, but it is mentioned enough to really make the point.

3.75 stars. This was a surprisingly good read! This was Alfie and Vera's book. Vera is the father of a Russian mafia don. She is estranged from him and stays away from that business. She is on a tropical vacation by herself when she meets Alfie. Alfie is also in the mafia, a fixer and an enemy to her father. He is at the beach on business, but when he meets Vera, he decides to stay for pleasure. He knows who she is by her last name, but that doesn't stop his attraction to her. They spend some sexy time together and both feel a connection. But after Vera's vacation ends, she must return home. She has no idea that Alfie lives in the same city and is in the mafia too. She is shocked to see him again in the city and to discover what he does. He pursues her and she resists at first, but eventually gives in and they begin a relationship. There is some external drama with both of their families and the mafia, but it all works out in the end.

This is my first book by London Miller and I enjoyed it. It felt like a fresh take on mafia romance. I liked Vera and Alfie. They adored each other and their relationship was low angst. There were several time inconsistencies and jumping around that was a little confusing. There was also a little less focus on romance than I liked, once the couple got together. Still, I liked the story. It was faced paced and interesting and not very heavy or drama filled.

Overall, this was a good mafia romance! I will look for more books from this author in the future!

My concerns

It was written that 3 months later but then it was few weeks later.

Also with age, It mentioned that Vera was 16, 6 years ago but in the end of the book she was 26 years old. Same with Alfie, somewhere it was mentioned thst he is about 30-32years old but then Vera met a guy who was about the same age as Alfie so he was graying. Not all 30s men go gray so that left me confused about his age 🤔

She did not know that Alfie was a criminal but she mentioned that "he has a reach on a criminal side"? There was also one point when she asked Alfie if some other guy was a bad or a good guy.. It felt like some chunk were cut off from the book, I even went back to make sure I did not skip somehow.

I did not connect with the main characters but I loved Alfie. Actually the plot was amazing but it seemed that it did not work out as it was meant to. Their love story somehow was so superficial. Not much talking to each other, learning about each other or if they did there was no mentioning of it. I love her books, the storyline every time blows me away but love always fells flat for me in every book. I don't feel this strong connection between them, I think it is mostly that writing does not go into details. For example they had dinner and then they talked for hours. I would like to have a insight of what they talked about and how they connected.

So therefore 3,5* from me.

Cannot wait for Lachlan's story. He sounds complex and I love villans who needs to be redeemed.
