Publishers Although loosely part of a series, this spicy romance can be read as a stand alone story. It includes scenes of domestic discipline and power exchanges
Strong men and feisty women populate the books of Libby Campbell, USA Today bestselling author. Her fast-paced stories are full of challenges and setbacks. Each couple finds their joyful HEA only after major differences have been resolved with classic dom/sub discipline.
Some of these books span one hundred years or more, through the magic of time travel. Others take you on a fantasy ride to a faraway galaxy or into the life of a stern billionaire. Many of the romances are contemporary. Her Without Mercy series steps back in time to the roaring 20’s, 1920’s that is.

Trusting Ingrid is an amazing story!! The book is well written with a storyline that is well thought out and struck several emotions. The characters were developed, real, heartwarming, and interesting. Lachlan and Ingrid seemed to have an instant connection but their lives were quite different. Lachlan was trying to recover from losing his wife while Ingrid was trying to recover from a life out of control. The banter between these two character and the situations they find themselves in brought laughs, tears, jaw dropping moments, and so much more throughout the story. With plenty of spankings, sex, love, friendships, and true raw emotions this story is a must read!! I highly recommend this book and give it 5 stars but wish I could give it more! I voluntarily received an arc copy of this book.
Donna L 5.0 out of 5 starsFacing your demons November 29, 2019 Format: Kindle EditionVerified Purchase Of all the books in this series,Trusting Ingrid resonated right into my soul. It was a sensual assault of the best kind, and i was completely sucked into the intensity of the battle that Ingrid faced moment by moment. The story is well written and flows at a good pace.It never felt rushed or hurried .
Ingrid Nickel had a huge chip on her shoulder.Deserted by her father.Brought up by her bitter mother who taught Ingrid too con people as a life choice. After moving from town to town ,Ingrid never had the opportunity to make friends, except for Rachel,a homeless girl she meets and rescues from a park.Their friendship is still strong many years later despite Rachel’s husbands disapproval. .While house sitting for Rachel and Glyn, she meets Glyn’s brother,Lachlan, who live in the basement.Despite being warned off Lachlan by Glynn, sparks ignite . Lachlan feels alive again for the first time since the death.of his wife.Ingrid’s beauty ensnared him.Lust shot through him.A burning need penetrated his soul .Can he help Ingrid crawl out of the hole of addiction she is in.He will hold her her accountable for her poor choices with love and discipline and turn her life around He would take her pain away and twist it into pleasure.
I think the pivotal moment was when Ingrid decided to drop her defences and put her complete trust in Lachlan. His methods were original and most certainly painful. Ingrid struggled with the changing dynamics and Lachlan’s domination as their relationship intensified. This is a painful but accurate account of a couples battle with a real life situation. They are both vulnerable but together found happiness.
Ms Campbell knows how to deliver a story full of real life situations and family values. This story does not shy away from delicate situations and how facing your demons can make you stronger. Edit Delete Comment Permalink Product Details

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Trusting Ingrid is a book unlike any I have read in a very long time. On the surface it is a contemporary romance between two people well into adulthood. Both are physically attractive and successful. Lachlan is a widower who rehabilitate animals in his spare time and is finally interested in pursuing a relationship after the loss of his wife. Ingrid is a mess. She is dealing with many personal demons, most of which seem to be a result from her disaster of an unusual childhood. She's not always lovable and sometimes I even disliked her. But she's searching for a better life and is willing to try and let the dominant Lachlan take the lead. There is a great physical relationship, humor, tears and sometimes painful leaps of faith. There are also rules, punishments and painful growth. While not a frothy romance by any means, the author did a fantastic job of creating a real, sometimes hard look at a possible chance for that true love. It's well written and I enjoyed it for many different reasons including its originality, it's flawed humans, and it's message of hope.
Trusting Ingrid is the third book of the Romancing the Coast series. Each book can be read as a standalone. This book is about Lachlan and Ingrid. Both do have some issues, Lachlan is still struggling to get over the death of his wife and Ingrid is an alcoholic and her life is a complete mess.
Reading the book felt like a rollercoaster ride to me, because my emotions were all over the place. There were scenes where I laughed out loud and then there were scenes where I got all teary eyed. Needless to say, I loved reading the book. I was so engrossed by the characters and the story that I could not put it down.
I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book. Such a good read with plenty of spanking. Trust is earned and sometimes it is painful. A woman who has a miserable, lonely past and a man who has a past filled with love and family. Both have faced loss. Both been warned to avoid the other for very different reasons. Spanking romance. Hand, paddle, switch.
I love Libby Campbell’s books. And this one was no different- I loved it as well. I thought the other characters gave Ingrid a bad rap. Yes, she is an alcoholic and can be brash, but she is a loyal friend. I love the relationship she and Lachlan develop. They are both a bit broken, but together they help each other heal. Such an awesome book. I also adored Glyn and Rachel. (I only wish the very end didn’t resolve quite so quickly. I was rather looking forward to a showdown.) All in all, Five Stars!!
The Romancing The Coast books are a spinoff from the Simon in Charge series that feature secondary characters and shares their stories. The story will be about Ingrid Nickel and Lachlan Morrison. Two people who had met by chance many years ago and will once again be brought back together--only this time, fate has a different plan for them. While this story is part of the Romancing the Coast series, it will easily read well as a stand-alone.
Ingrid is raised by a mother who is bitter how things turned out with the man that fathered her child, and therefore she raises her daughter to live a life conning others. From the time Ingrid is little she has learned from her mother and lived a life on the move, never settling down, never really having friends. It is a life of conning and moving on. But her mother is gone, and while Ingrid has made a fortune in real estate, she isn’t a happy person.
The plot will have Ingrid at rock bottom and going to her one friend, Rachel’s home to house and dog sit while they are in Australia visiting their daughter, Stevie. Rachel’s husband, Glyn Morrison, isn’t a fan of Ingrid and even goes as far as to tell her he has had her investigated. His widowed brother, Lachlan is also at the house, living in a basement apartment and Glyn will warn her away from Lachlan. But when Lachlan and Ingrid lock eyes, there is a chemistry, and instant attraction, and this will be their story.
Lachlan hasn’t felt this alive since the death of his wife, Mary. He senses a lost soul with Ingrid, someone who needs a strong man to hold her accountable, to show her he cares, and to not only love her but discipline her. For the first time in Ingrid’s life, she will find someone who will stand up to her, make her accept her shortcomings, pay the price for her behavior, and show her love as she has never experienced before.
“This is the plan,” he said. “I’m going to train you physically at first. In due course, your brain, your heart, and soul will follow. I’m going to be your one-man lifeline, the guy who helps you stay strong. For this to work, you’ll have to be ready to obey me, to take orders from me, basically to submit to me and my rules.”
Now that Lachlan is holding her to the fire, teaching her accountability, and showing her that he is a man of his word, she is growing as a person. When she stumbles, he is there to pick her up and give her discipline.
“Then I am that friend. I want to be your lover, your man, your boss, your brother, your father, your protector, and your confessor. Is that what you want from me? Let it out,” he said. “You have so many unshed tears; your soul is drowning in them. I’m here for you. You can trust me. I will protect you and look after you. Your half of that bargain is to respect me. To obey me.”
The story is very emotional, and it brings two people together that need each other. For Ingrid, it is finally letting go and trusting another soul, and for Lachlan, it is allowing himself to love again.
An emotional journey with a great storyline. This was a beautiful story with amazing characters who bring the story to life. I found that it was not as heartbreaking as I thought it would be. I found it sweet and sexy too.
