The woman Kayde can't escape might be the only person who can save his soul...
Kayde NaDetya isn’t asking for a miracle… After witnessing the impossible mating of his fellow soulless warrior, Kayde doesn’t expect a denya of his own. But whenever Quinn Porter walks into a room, he can’t keep himself from watching her, from following her, from wanting her. And those desires mean trouble for a man who isn’t supposed to feel anything.
Quinn just wants things to get back to normal… Sure, she was captured by pirates and abused for months, but Quinn’s doing her best to stay positive and create a good life back on Earth than. She has a small group of friends made up of fellow survivors and the determination to recover from all that was done to her. She’s not in the market for a man, but a certain coldly loyal Detyen could make her change her mind.
An accidental journey… When Kayde undertakes a mission to journey back to his Detyen home, he’s ready for the solitude. What he doesn’t expect is Quinn hiding away in one of the bunks on his ship. Forced to undertake a dangerous mission together, even knowing that the remnants of emotion he feels when she’s around might be signs of oncoming madness, Kayde and Quinn will need to rely on each other when everything goes wrong and their lives and freedom are at stake.
Can a heartless warrior recover his soul in the arms of a broken woman? Or will the wounds of their pasts prevent the hope of a future?
Each Detyen Warriors novel can be read as a standalone. Enjoy feisty women, alpha aliens, fated mates, and relationships hot enough to steam up your screen.
I was almost afraid to read this one, seeing how I gave mixed ratings to the previous books, but I was pleasantly surprised!
Both Kayde and Quinn were very likable charcaters who didn't fight too long their attraction!
First Kayde couldn't believe that he has found his denya, but mistook his budding sensations for going mad because of soul-lessness. But when he became aware of his good fortune, he was so sweet and tender!
Quinn, on the othe hand, had some really horrific experences as slave and her attraction to Kayde terrified her not because she was afraid to love him, but because she was afraid to burden him with a deeply damaged woman who couldn't have any kind of physical contact with a man she loved.
But both of them fought not their love, but to find ways to overcome the obstacles that kept them apart.
It was lovely to read!
They had some rather fantastic adventures, but even they were fun to read!
Now I'll be looking forward to next book hoping it could be as good as this one! I'm curious to find out how the author will handle Lauren's story!
I had myself all braced for a whole bunch of unrequited drama, hah I should have trusted KR, Kayde may be soulless but he’s a good male. I think this is my favorite in the series so far. The journey both Kayde and Quinn took to get where they needed to be was heart warming.
The great plot was well written and the characters were so well developed that as I turned each page the chemistry between the characters kept me totally hooked until the very last page!
The rescued women sat at a table drinking and talking. Quinn still isn’t over what happened to her and has nightmares about her experience. She kept having a feeling she was being watched and, when she went toward the bathrooms, she heard the back door open and followed outside. A figure in black blended into the crowd. She called out “Kayde” but he didn’t stop so she went back inside.
Kayde NaDetya has no expectations of finding his denya (mate), yet he feels obsessively compelled to watch Quinn and follow her everywhere. She makes him feel when he shouldn’t feel anything at all because he had allowed the Detyen Legion to remove his soul, and with it all of his emotions, to lengthen his life so he could track their enemy, Yormas of Wreet and bring him to justice for the destruction of Detya. So he mistakenly reasoned that these strange sensations were actually symptoms of his oncoming madness. To get himself away from Quinn, he accepts a dangerous mission to find out what happened to the Detyens and what had been their home, only to be totally surprised to find Quinn, the woman he was trying to avoid, stowed aboard his ship.
When they land on a planet for supplies, they are captured and endure ceremonial rituals and fighting. Kayde was forced to fight over and over, knocked out by a dart after each victory. Quinn was told she was queen and her coronation was being prepared, then they put manacles on her hands! Neither knew what was going on here, nor did they know what was happening to the other. To Kayde’s surprise, when he defeats all of the challengers and Quinn asks him to hug her, he realizes that Quinn is, in fact, his denya! He could not believe this was possible, but the things he was feeling told him it was true. Quinn, however, had deep trauma from her slave situation and was afraid to care for Kayde when her fear prevented her from accepting physical intimacy. Could they help each other move forward to heal and find love? Would she realize what he was to her?
I was fortunate to read this story along with the audiobook version and it really enhanced the enjoyment of the story. The two narrators did a great job together. The action sped up once they were on the planet and fighting for their freedom. The characters were well-presented. Quinn annoyed me somewhat with her constant references to being bored – it made little sense after her experiences and never knowing what would happen next. Boredom would be the least of my issues! Kayde, however, was a strong, powerful warrior who always made her feel safe. She was fortunate to be with him. Grab your copy and see where this goes. They are far from safe as they now have to retrieve the Queen’s crown. This is an amazing adventure the reader will love!
This is the third story in the Detyen Warriors series. It could be read as a stand-alone story, but it does refer to the first story, Soulless. I think the world-building and character building was outstanding. The basics of the series is that an alien race, the Detyen, are a humanoid race that only live to the age of 30, unless they find their mate, and then they die. There is another option in that they can have their soul taken. It basicly leaves them emotionless. That way they can fight/live a few more years to help their race. In the first story, Soulless, Raze was Soulless but he still found his denya, his mate.
Quinn is an Earth woman who was captured by pirates and abused for months. She is now with a group of survivors trying to get back to normal on Earth. There is something that one of the girls left on the spaceship that saved them. It's just sitting on the tarmac not doing anything so she goes there and decides to take a quick nap in the place she felt safe after being rescued. She didn't expect to wake up in outer space.
Kayde is one of many Soulless Detyen Warriors. He is on a mission to go back to their home planet because they haven't heard anything from there in a long time. They need to make sure that the few remaining beings of their race are okay. He takes the ship they have, since it isn't doing anything, and it can be manned by one being. What he didn't count on was a stowaway in the form of Quinn. He volunteered for this mission because he feels he might be falling into the final stages of madness from being Soulless. What he doesn't realize is that these same symptoms could mean something else. He feels these symptoms only when he is either around or thinking about Quinn. Now he is stuck in a ship for at least two months with her.

Fun, sexy, sweet alien adventure! Love the whole mate connection scenario. Quinn and Kayde are good for each other. Both are in need of some love and care; sweet dynamic between them. Kayde is one of the aliens that gave away his soul to live a little longer; the aliens die by 30 if they haven’t found their mates, but they can live till 35 if they give their souls away. The Soulless don’t express emotion like others, and there was thought that they can’t have mates. Luckily, they were wrong about not having mates, but there are still some issues revolving around it. Quinn, a human, has recently been rescued from a slave compounds; she was mentally and physically assaulted there, so she has some walls built up. Kayde was one of the aliens that helped rescue Quinn and others from the slave compound, and he feels drawn to Quinn. Unfortunately, Kayde thinks there’s something wrong with him, so he tries to leave Quinn behind. Fortunately, through chance, Quinn and Kayde find themselves back together, but these 2 are in for a wild, dangerous space adventure. These 2 are dealing with their new feelings for each other, but also the dangerous elements in space. Entertaining and fun read! Love getting to see space creatures and the different planets; super cool!
Also, it was a cool listening experience. Listened on Audible. Both narrators did a great job! Recommend listening if you have the chance.
Not Heartless - heart-stopping, heart-warming and HOT
This is a voluntary, independent, and uncompensated review of an ARC - my thanks to the author. Being a lover of all things Detyen, I expected to like Heartless. I LOVED it. I cheered for Quinn, the woman who survived Oscavian slavers and never, ever gives up - not on survival, or healing, or her desire to live a full life, or on Kayde. Quinn is no broken victim - she's battered but badass and every bit Kayde's spiritual equal. I cried for Kayde, the devoted Detyen who sacrificed his soul to avoid the Denya Price, to give his people a few more years of his service in the hunt for the destroyers of Detya. He's a knight of chivalry and a wicked fierce warrior. And I cried for him again when, against all hope and reason, he found his Denya - Quinn - and recovered his soul, his life, and his future, and his bedroom mojo. This being a Kate Rudolph novel, HEA comes as no surprise. So what had me glued to my e-reader for an afternoon? It was all the edge-of-you-seat suspense, the crazy heart-in-mouth action, and the outta-the-frying-pan-into-the-fire series story arc. In Heartless, there's one more Detyen saved, but there's more, much more, to come. This series is hotter and more thrilling with each book, and I'm already jonesing for the next book. Bring me MORE DETYENS!!!
Fated to be mates, with the will to survive! by sewsummore
This is the third book in the series and Quinn has found herself trapped on the Deyten spaceship on a mission to the Deyten HQ. The ship was not expected to leave when she crept aboard and now she is trapped with Kayde, the deyten who has been following her around, watching her for the past three months. Angry as she had been when he refused to return her, she finally calmed down and they developed a relationship which was part friendship and part attraction. A stop over to collect supplies causes them grief when they are captured and have to fight for their lives before they can escape. Despite this the attraction between grows until a partial mating bond is formed, only her fears stops it from becoming the true bond they both wish. This book kept me interested from the start, both Kayde and Quinn have survived despite the pain of the past. I admired the strength of Kayde's will and Quinn's determination to overcome the past in this story. Will they survive their next big challenge they face, you will have to read the book to find out more of what fate has in store for these two.

This author's stories are amazing! I am so glad that Kayde got his happy ever after. I have loved each and every Detyen I have read about but Kayde was the one who most broke my heart. Kayde believes that he is showing obsessive behavior toward one of the rescued women. He follows Quinn around and thinks about her all the time. He decides that he needs to get away from her. So he goes on a mission to find out what happened to the Detyens and the place he had called home. He accepts that their maybe no one left except the enemy. But he thinks his time is almost up anyway and doesn't believe that he will be returning to Earth. The problem is that after Kayde is a good distance from Earth, he finds out that Quinn was on board and he wasn't told. Together they embark on an adventurous trip. They land on a planeet where some of the beings there kidnaps them and they individually partake in weird rituals and fighting. Then he realizes that she is his Dental! If you give it a try will become absorbed into this world.the same as I am. I adore this author's imagination and look forward to reading more about the Detyens.
Heartless was wonderful. Kayde we met in the last book. He was the soulless one. The one who looked like he was really dead like a robot. He didn't understand his total pre-occupation with Quinn. He followed her around after she got rescued with the others. He just didn't get it. So freaked out about it that he asked to go back to their base and find out what happened to get away from her. Little did either know what they were doing or that they would get stuck together for months. They dance around each other over the course of the trip. Get kidnapped and almost killed. Fight to find each other. Escape by a thin thread only to be put in a cell when they reach their destination. So much action. So many things going on at once. I ended up just loving Kayde. He turned out be a really great guy. I so wish we had the Detyen thing here. Even is we died at thirty. Quinn was one of the humans they rescued. Needless to say, she had issues. He was so great with her. She becomes a strong capable woman. Just a wonderful story. I blasted through it. I'm going to start on the next one now. Kathy
Quinn and Kayde each have something they are struggling with; Kayde is someone still learning how to normally interact with others after living years as a soulless, and Quinn is recovering from extreme trauma and assault. And unlike the cliche so many books resort to of "love cures all," love doesn't cure the past for these characters; rather it is a catalyst to encourage them to continue to overcome, and they support each other in the process. Quinn can't just jump into bed with Kayde after extreme sexual assault, but sparks the desire in her to be able to try again and Kayde supports her while never taking her struggles personally or rushes her. And the action is extremely engaging! More plot is revealed, promising more twists and excitement, and strange new worlds are explored. Quinn may not be as experienced with warrior battles and harrowing escapes, but she holds her own while not suddenly having capabilities she never had before. Her badass moves come from what taking what she knows and making it work in their situation.
I am really loving this series! The sci-fi plots are top notch, spanning several worlds, several species, a whole host of characters, and great adventures. Although our hero/heroine are the main focus, there is a lot going on around them. Secret plots, kidnappings for bizarre cultural entertainment, soulless Detyens falling in love. Good stuff! I absolutely love that although in book 1 our heroine was enslaved and freed, this story incorporates her genuine trauma and how she works through it. Seriously, alien stories where former sex slaves just jump in the sack with a mate are super unbelievable to me, especially when they don’t even mention the serious head games that go on in survivors’ minds after trauma. Thankfully, this book doesn’t get all depressing- it treats the subject with a frankness and positive goal towards healing that is quite refreshing and inspiring (and it isn’t the main focus of the book). There is so much great stuff going on in this story I’m sure you’ll love it!
The Heart💕 of a Warrior🐺🔪🔫 ADULT Alpha Alien 🐺🔫🔪 Sci-fi Romance💕 and Space 🚀Adventure. The search goes on for the intergalactic criminal, Ambassador Yormas of Wreet👹! He is responsible for the annihilation💥 of the Detyen's home world Detya🌍, along with all of their women and children. The weapon used has never been identified even though it's been a hundred years since Detya's🌍 destruction💥.
The Detyen's also think the Oscavians are In league with Yormas, and they are now enemies, too
In this third installment, Kayde🐺🔪🔫, a Detyen Warrior, is the main character. He chose to become soulless, in order to survive longer than an unmated Detyen Warrior's🐺🔪🔫 normal 30 years. He feels nothing, until he meets Quinn💃💋, one of the human women rescued from slavers. Is it possible true love💘 can help him regain his soul?
ARC Provided by Booksprout 🌱 This ebook is also part of "Detyen Warriors, Volume One", a three book Box set. Opinions expressed here are entirely my own.
This is a wonderfully written, fast paced, serious scifi, that happens to be a romance💕 too!
Poor Kayde. He instigates a risky mission back to recon HQ as he fears his obsession with one of the survivors he helped rescue means that he is tipping into madness.
Quinn is far from being over her abduction and abuse at the hands of the Oscavians and their allies. However, she has a soft spot for one of the other survivors and returns to the ship they wee rescued on to grab a memento for her. But a nap has never led her into such a precarious position before. Now she is blasting through space with a big, strapping alien. She feels safe with him and knows that he would not harm her. Pity she really can't get her brain and heart to agree that falling for Kayde is a big NONO.
Both Kayde and Quinn feel they are broken beyond repair. But stitching their tattered hearts together might make them stronger than ever! Plenty of twists to keep you guessing!
2 months ago Quinn , Muir, CJ, Valerie, Davy, and Laurel had been saved from slavers but a mind control chip was put into Laurel's head and Valerie left her behind so she never made it back to earth with others. Kayde is a Denyen and part of the team that saves them. He is also past his time to find a denya (mate) and would have died on this 30th birthday. So he let the Detyen legion remove his soul and he became a souless. But then he meets Quinn Now he is on a mission Oh I love the Action, twist and turns In this adventure. The characters are fantastic. It's full of betrayal, mystery, intrigue, drama, spice, and so much more. I couldn't put it down. Each story has its love story but they also build off each other too for a big plot line! It's a realy fun read. I can't wait for the next book Voluntarily reviewed a copy and I honestly loved it.
Heartless was not that at all! This is Quinn and Kayde’s story. I love how Quinn is a fighter and not ready to give up. She is slightly broken, but she doesn’t let that stop her. Kayde is broken but only realizes to the extent that he doesn’t want something worse to come of it. The trials that both of them have to go through together and alone, show their strength. I enjoyed that they love story took them off of earth and back again.
Heartless was not a quick speed read for me. There was just the right amount of description and length. While this is part of a series, there is enough back ground given that you can read it as a stand alone without missing anything. However, for pure enjoyment, you’ll want to read the previous stories.
This is Quinn and Kayde’s story. I love how both characters are broken and in each other they heal. It doesn’t happen instantly but grows over time. Quinn was abducted by slaver traders and saved by a group of warriors. Kayde is one the Datyen warriors (warriors who give up their souls) who saved Quinn. This book and a lot of chemistry between the two. I loved how patient Kayde was to Quinn and would do anything to save her. I loved how the author just did not do a quick fix and that both characters weren’t magically able to forget what happened to them. A definite must read for any fan and I can't wait to read more from this author!!!

I liked the premise behind this story. Emotionally defunct warrior finds love and learns to live again. Abuse victim falls in love and learns to be strong. It was good. The gladiator battle/solstice queen part started out good, then kinda dropped off. I wanted it a little more developed. I loved the fact that the girl didn't fall in love and all her trauma just goes away. It was more real that she had to work through her hangups and learn to cope, it doesnt magically get better right away. A few spots fell a little flat. All in all, I enjoyed this, I just wanted more.

Quinn is still trying to cope with what happened to her. She is still having nightmares, not surprising. Though the feeling of being watched does not help.... Kayde does not expect to find his Denya (mate), yet he is compelled to watch over Quinn and follow her everywhere. He had his soul removed to live longer, so how come he has feelings? Kayde concludes that he must be going mad. He leaves on a dangerous mission to get away and lo and behold, guess who followed him? His madness (Quinn)....... Now what......

Quinn had suffered at the hands of the slavers but had been rescued by the Detyen warriors and was now on Earth with no intentions of ever leaving again. She still had nightmares and couldn't be touch by a man at all. Kayde a soulless thought he was losing it big time with his obsession with Quinn, so he requested the mission to see if their HQ had been leveled to get away from her. Touching story where both people feel drawn to each other but neither knowing why. Though this is a romance it has plenty of action, twists and surprises to interest all.
This was an awesome book that I really enjoyed. The story and characters grabbed me from the beginning and I couldn't stop reading. I loved Kayde and Quinn and watching them grow together, they were well written and went well together. I found this book amazing with great word building making me feel apart of the story and watching it unfold in front of me. A definite must read for any fan and I can't wait to read more from this author!!!

Kayde gave up his soul for the better of his species. He doesn't feel things like others do. When he meets Quinn he starts to feel things again and is confused by them. Quinn has been through a lot with being kidnapped by aliens and raped and generally abused. She has started to make friends with the other women that were kidnapped and also with the aliens that rescued them. Quinn and Kayde accidently end up on a ship together going on a mission. Their Adventure begins. A great story.

I loved Kayde and Quinn! Another great installment to the Detyan Warrior series. This story was chock full of dangerous adventure, and these two characters were wonderful. Quinn had a very traumatic experience before she met Kayde that makes the whole fated mates thing very difficult; how do you allow yourself to get close to someone when your terrifying past is stuck in the forefront of your mind almost constantly. She’s a super strong woman, but she has a lot to process! I loved how patient Kayde was with her. They’re a great match.
Kayde, thinking something was going wrong with being soulless, decides to go see what happened to the Detyan HQ. He also wants to get away from Quinn.
Quinn heads to the ship that was used to rescue her and other women from slavers. She was getting a little piece of the ship for a woman who was rescued. She ends up falling asleep and then wakes up when Kayde flies the ship off.
Lots of action, romance and love making. Can't wait to read more of this series.

Whoa i love this series. This one was not as "steamy" as the other i read. But it made up for it in the plot twists and action scenes. What can I say? I am easy to please. The souless warrior Kayde planned on running away, then the one thing he was running away ended up stranded on his ship. I truly loved Quinn and Kaydes story. And can not wait for the next book in the series. I woukd recommend this book. Happy readimg! Rating 5 stars

This is a really good story! Full of action, suspense, danger, pain and steam! I really love the main characters! Quinn and Kayde are so great! The heat is off the charts between these two! Although this is book 3 in the series it can be read as a stand alone read. The author does a good job with back history so you don't feel like you missed anything. However, it does make you want to back and read the first two as well as jump on the next story, "Fautless", to see what next in store for the Detyens' and their mates.
Third book in the Detyen series. Kayde is a warrior and has given up his soul in the hopes of extending his life and to be able to protect his race. By giving up his soul he will bypass the curse of death at 30 years but he losses so much more. Now he is seen as heartless and almost robotic. But Quinn seems to have caught his eye. When fate seems to play a joke in them and strands them together they will have to rely on each other to survive. The story is filled with sci-fi action and adventure. The romance grows as the two are forced together but that may not be such a bad thing.
Quinn kept having a feeling she was being watched and, when she went toward the bathrooms she saw kayde. Kayde had no expectations of finding his denya , yet he feels obsessively compelled to watch Quinn and follow her everywhere. She makes him feel when he shouldn’t feel anything at all because he had allowed the Detyen Legion to remove his soul, and with it all of his emotions, to lengthen his life so he could track their enemy, Yormas of Wreet and bring him to justice for the destruction of Detya.
Kayde is one of the soul less Deyten warrior who has given up his soul to live a few more years than 30, when all denten's die without a mate. Quinn seems to bring out feelings in him that were thought dead to him. Quinn is a survivor of imprisonment and abuse that Kayde must earn her trust. This series has kept me reading each book as it comes out, and I love each one. These aliens are so entertaining and engaging.

This is a great addition to the series! Quinn may be back but she still isn’t over what happened to her. Kayde isn’t expecting to find a denya (mate) of his own be he can’t stop watching Quinn. When he decides to get away and goes on a mission back home he didn’t expect to find Quinn stowed aboard his ship. This is a fast-paced read with plenty of drama and great chemistry. The story held my interest throughout and the story keeps you thoroughly entertained. A good read.
