A field trip in the mountains leads to an uncomfortable night for two best friends who have been avoiding each other with very good reason. One sleeping bag and a storm that leaves them without power will set into motion a few events that have been waiting to occur.
Blythe Stone began writing at a very young age. She tends to focus on stories that include female protagonists that are in some way gay. Blythe's stories dive into relationship issues that women experience with other women.
When she's not writing, Blythe enjoys reading and traveling with her long-time lover and true partner in crime. The genres that inspire her are many! You can find her on back-roads and at flea markets, at conventions and in plain site.

More like 2.5, but ok short romance of two young women. Some very poor grammar throughout, so poor editing. But the two protagonists were likeable enough and much of their short journey was real enough.
When you read something and it as so much more to give you.. Urgh... this had a lot going for it. Good story and had grounds for a really good book! Just needed to be longer.... a lot longer.
Since I've officially decided Blythe Stone is my new guilty pleasure, when I saw she had a novella for free (probably temporary? idk?) I got it and read it pretty soon after. This one starts out as "Bed Sharing to Conserve Heat: The Novella" and moves on to establishing a relationship between the MCs. I thought the MCs were very, very dysfunctional (like, Annabelle def needs to be less pushy, for one) but it didn't surprise me bc that seems to be a Stone thing. Anyways, short and melodramatic and smutty and sweet. It packed a lot of drama into a little book.
Has a real feel quality to it. These two girls seem to be your average high school best friends. Mari is totally in love with Annabelle and doesn't think her feeling are returned. Annabelle is just realizing that Mari means more to her. This is a quick read and low angst.
Not a bad read, two likable characters but the author should have just released the entire story, verse just a piece of their relationship and would have made the story better verse just a chunk of it.
Honestly, when I decided to read this book, it was 12am and I wanted something quick to read before bed. I had this saved to my "to read" list on Amazon and gave it a go. This is a very nice YA lesbian short story to read in your down time (Took me about an hour to complete), now let me explain my three stars. When you start out, you are immediately at the point of the two girls being stuck in a snow storm at a ski lodge while working on a school field trip. When you read the description, it kinda gives you the impression that the entire book takes place where they are trapped. Thats not the case, after the first few chapters, they do go back home. I think the biggest issue I personally found, was my inability to trust Annabelle. This very much feels like the typically, "Best friend uses best friend that is in love with them to experiment". No matter how much you read, Annabelle seemed fake and even Mari severely distrusts her sudden change because its "Too good to be true" and she's right, it does feel too good to be true. At the beginning and without any context, you kinda like Annabelle, soon after you can't get yourself to enjoy reading her character. I did however enjoy reading Mari's POV. She has a fire in her that I think she's afraid to show. Mari is also very relatable. The lesbian teen that just wants her best friend to love her as more than just a friend. She is kind and try's to do what is best for them both. The whole thing is a little bit of a mess and keeps you on your toes. Both girls handled the situation as most teenagers would. I didn't see a whole lot of maturity or real talking. Mostly just rushed arguments in short words with little explantation and they both often used physical intimacy to try and divert the situation. Again, if you just want a simple quick read, go for it. But, expect to be very distrustful and frustrated.
This is a story about young love. Mari who has been in love with her best friend Annabelle and Annabelle who knows this and sometimes teases Mari to make her boyfriend jealous. Mari starts dating another girl so as not to think about Annabelle with her boyfriend. But a weather incident finds them together until it passes and the situation causes them to get closer than they realize, when Annabelle actually makes the first move and suddenly Mari who is in shock recovers enough to let her. As their relationship takes a turn, both break up with their significant others and take a chance. Mari is having trouble believing Annabelle is in for the long haul and is hesitant in making love to Annabelle like she has dream of. This is young love at is best. The want, the need, the lust makes for a very interesting and cute story.
Two female best friends take a trip to the mountains, a trip that could cost both of them their lives. Annabelle and Mari are essentially trapped in an emergency shelter which is bitterly cold.
Complicating things is the fact that Mari really likes Annabelle but her feelings are not returned yet, in order to survive, both must take off most of their clothes and get into a single sleeping bad (they would not have fit with all their clothes on.)
Their relationship becomes sexual but there's a problem and that is Todd who wants Annabelle Todd is a jerk, to put it mildly.
The rest of the book centers on the love/sex relationship between the two girls.
It's a really nice love story with two believable girls.
A good story, but I couldn't shake the feeling that it starts in mid relationship and we don't really get to know exactly how the two women got to the point they were at. There are events mentioned in the story in passing that seem pivotal to the relationship between the two, yet we're only given vague impressions of what happened. It almost feels like it could be book two of their story...
This short romance covers what seems to be a key turning point in a relationship that has a very long history. The scenes are fairly intense both emotionally and sexually. The secondary cast is extremely generic and flits through from time to time. One caveat is that in a number of the scenes it is very difficult to keep track of who is speaking; at times it seems as if a film script has had the speaker names redacted. By the end it appears the couple is headed for their HEA.
IT WAS AMAZING HOW TWO GIRLS FOUND THEIR LOVE 💖 FOR EACH OTHER!
Mari and Annabelle were trapped by a snowstorm in a cabin with NO heat and one sleeping bag. The THINGS that HAPPENED in that sleeping bag WILL MAKE YOU WET!!!
This is perfect for a simple, fast ebook to read. It might not blow your friggin mind but it’s a really nice friends-to-lovers story to keep the mind occupied. I read it within a few hours one day. Take it for what it is & you’ll enjoy it. (Side note: There was some good sexy time too in case you’re wondering).
Very well written. I'm not always drawn in to stories about teens, and this was no exception. So, not my favorite book, but it was still very well done.
