Bringing Down the Hammer

Rate this book
Gorgeous business mogul Charles Sinatra has his hands full juggling a daughter who keeps getting herself into perilous relationships; a wife who gets herself into a perilous business arrangement with a former lover; and a town already angry with Charles for his own constant land grabs and power plays.

But when Amelia Sinatra, his sister and the former leader of a drug cartel, goes missing, and when her boyfriend, the former head of the CIA Hammer Reese, won’t cooperate, Big Daddy knows he has to take charge. With the help of his kid brother, vicious mobster Mick Sinatra, and with his wife Jenay by his side, they join forces unlike they ever had before and will stop at nothing to bring Amelia home. Even if it means bringing down the entire federal government, and government man Hammer Reese, in the process.

In the explosive new addition to the Big Daddy Sinatra interracial romantic suspense thriller, Charles and Mick Sinatra must ward off cops and crooks and they fight hard, love hard, and nearly die hard to protect all they hold dear.

First time I read this book, I gave it three stars. When I read it this time, I found it more action filled and thought it deserved four stars. I had been re-reading Mick's books and started on a couple of Sal's books and Amelia's. This book presented Amelia in a much better light than Hammer Time. Perhaps I liked it better because there was no brutal sex between Amelia and Hammer, at least not much. I felt the love that Hammer had for Amelia which was missing for me in the first Amelia book. However, Big Daddy and Jenay made up for the hard sexing. I think the first review still stands but it deserved a better rating. The first review is below.

May contain Spoilers

This book opened with a bang. The Prologue was awesome. I couldn't wait to get into the meat of the book. Instead of steak, I was served a lot of stew. Everyone was thrown into the book. Things happened to Big Daddy's family with no rhyme or reason. Big Daddy and Jenay resolved everything with sex, no matter who was around or what was going on. Please!

Big Daddy couldn't figure out what was happening and then Amelia came up missing. Of course, Mick shows up. Stranger things were happening and things began to point to Hammer. Where was he?? Reno and Tommy were put on notice that they may be needed to protect Mick's and Big Daddy's family. No answers were found anywhere nor was Hammer. Plane shoots at them at a meeting to find information. In spite of many deaths, the main characters aren't harmed.

Even after Tommy, Big Daddy and Jenay met with former President Harbour and the current President at the White House, what they were told made no sense. They left still not knowing where Hammer was. Prior to that meeting, Amelia shows up with no answers. More attacks against Big Daddy's family.

Hammer shows up and everything began to make sense to them. The last attack at Big Daddy's home was put down and they had a big party. Most of the Sinatras, Gabrinis, Reeses including kids, nannies, guards and even the Harbours gathered at Big Daddy house.

Finally everything was discussed and made sense to them. Not to me. It was as if Ms. Monroe wanted an opportunity to put all the families in one book and bring back the Harbours. This book had lots of meaningless violence, drama and danger.

This book was edited well and was pretty much free of errors. In spite of all my favorite people showing up, this book was a big disappointment. I will read it again after discussions with my Goodreads friends....perhaps, they can shed some light on this book for me.

As always and bears repeating, author Mallory Monroe delivers consistently and never disappoints. Honestly she is one of the few IR authors that is still going strong and I am so happy for her.

Big Daddy Sinatra is really the cool and more level headed out of his family (not that Charles can't and doesn't go ham because we have all seen him do so) but he is the one that everyone (including Mick the Tick his baby brother) looks to for guidance and although Reno, Tommy and Sal all got there own stuff and rightly so, everyone takes their cues when Charles comes on the scene from him.

Big Daddy Charles usually has nonsense coming from the town folks, it's not often that people from the outside try and come for him (it has happened but not often) but when the attacks are coming against his family, Charles doesn't hesitate to strike back, the problem is his gut is telling him that this goes beyond his town of Jericho, especially once his little brother Mick the Tick shows up at his door, bearing even more devastating news about their little sister Amelia Sinatra being kidnapped. There is so much a man can take but in this book we see Big Daddy Charles rise up like never before, this is the other Charles that nobody really knew existed except for Mick the Tick, he always knew that this was apart of his brother's DNA because that is exactly where Mick gets his toughness from. And we they are told that Hammer is behind Amelia's disappearance, this cuts way too deep for the Sinatra's to even comprehend and the fact nobody knows where Hammer is, is even more upsetting.

Now is the time for people to really see just how Ruthless Big Daddy Charles can really be and believe me they will not be ready for the blow up or blow back.

It was great seeing Former President Walter "Dutch" Harber and First Lady Gina Harber in this story (Hopefully this will mean we are going to get a new book about them soon). President Crader (Dutch's best friend) was present as well and I still give him the ever present side-eye, I don't know how the author is going to make Crader credible in my eyes.

It was also great seeing the whole family come together again, Reno, Sal and Tommy. All in all this was another great addition to this incredible series and I look forward to reading more stories by author Mallory Monroe.

Well Until My Next Review...Ciao Bellas!

My favorite people - Sinatra Family Yes!

Welcome back to the Big Daddy Sinatra family. I can't get enough on reading of the latest installment of what's going on with this family. It's great to see a bit of bumblebees from Big Daddy about his past indiscretion from his previous marriage. Showing his feelings that way to his wife makes me love this character more, his love for Jenay is humbling and he not want I g her to see his past mistake to make her think less of his made me want to cry. I loved seeing Dutch and Gina pop into this story line I always wondered what happened to them after Dutch resigned his Presidency.

I love this family connection, can't wait for the next story line.

Wow...talk about confusing!!!

This book had my adrenaline pumping big time. All that conspiracy, and drama, was like an action film in the making. I love this series. You didn't know who to trust. Hammer, was never guilty in my eyes. But with all the crap that was going on...I almost had my doubts, just for a second. I wish it would come to the big screen. Charles, Mick, & Hammer, are bad asses. I cannot wait for the Gabrini, Sinatra, & Reese, family to come together as one officially. What a force to be reckoned with!!! This was a very nice read as usual. Now I have to read about Dutch and Gina, former President and First Lady. I'm way behind with their story.

A Very Good and Suspenseful Interracial Romantic Thriller

Big Daddy Sinatra: Bringing Down the Hammer is very good and suspenseful interracial romantic thriller that earned a rating of five stars. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this fast paced and exciting book about Big Daddy Sinatra as he fights to protect his family from deadly forces. I would recommend this book to everyone who enjoys reading very good interracial romantic suspenseful thrillers.

I’ve loved the Sinatra and Gabrini men books, but I don’t have the same affection for the Reece’s pieces, the sudden sisters or the Brady Bunch Black sisters.

The dynamic of the powerful white men not being without these great Black women was intoxicating reading. The perspective changes for me when the focus is women I feel are forced down by my throat because of their contrived relationships to characters I have come to love. I never bought Jenay ‘s need to adopt these two girls or Charles’ acceptance. I didn’t buy Amelia’s ready acceptance or the two Reese men being men I would like, because I don’t. I love Dutch and Gina but I hope they continue to be cameos because their story well told, but done. Where is my Jimmy Mack follow up? How is Brent and his wife suddenly in a better place? Give more Dommi before you me more people I don’t want. Is it time to end this series? I hope not, but I may skip any that are not books with characters I want to read.

When will they learn?

You don't mess with the Sinatra family without bringing in the entire clan. As always, Mallory wrote a very entertaining and action packed story. I just love reading about Dutch and Regina Harbor. The President's Girlfriend was one of my favorite series. This story had some plot twists but I figured out who was behind all of the trouble. I normal can't figure it out but I did this time.

Keep up the good work Mallory. I always enjoy reading stories about the Gabrinis and Sinatras. Do I feel a return of Dutch and Gina's series vibe going on? I would love to read more about them.

OMG! I’ve read just about all of Mallory Monroe’s books and let me say it’s hard to pick a favorite. But this one here, Big Daddy was in the damn zone! Everybody showed up (even Dutch and Gina) and did their thing and had me laughing so hard. This is definitely top contender for my all time favorite Mallory Monroe books!

Big Daddy Sinatra: Bringing Down the Hammer

Love this book, Amelia has her man, Hammer and he's officially apart of the family. I hate that it had to end. But all good things must come to an end. Tony and Sharon don't seem to be making it happen maybe she need to get a little jealous to make a spark. 💕💘I anxiously awaiting your next book.👍👏⌚

It Ended Before I Knew It!!

Once again, Mallory has knocked it out of the park! From the beginning to the end, I was enthralled! Jenay continually standing by Charles, Mick in protective mode, Amelia and Hammer, Tommy, Reno, Sal, Dutch and Gina - Wow! What a cast and it all worked. I was at the end before I knew it! I look forward to Mallory's books every month!

What was this book about??????

I have read over 60 books of your Ms. Monroe and this book was nothing but a repeated sentence. Crap!!!!! A total waste of time and money. I will give three stars because I finished it. I really don't like Amelia aka Mill. This book was kinda boring. When will DOMMI have his book????? No more Hammer/Amelia books for me. Enough said.

Charles In Charge

I love Big Daddy Sinatra and the way takes care of his family and his love for Jenay. The respect the

families have for Charles is very heart warming. I knew Charles didn't cheat on Jenay, but was worried

her perception of him will change if he Jenay knew he had an affair in his first marriage

I love the Sinatra and Gabrini family.

Attention grabber

Truly enjoyed this book. Although Charles appeared as morally correct, he was more gangster than his mob family. The Big Daddy Series lived up to my expectations for sure! Now, I need to figure out which book to read next as Mallory has a full arsenal of stories to read!

Good Book

The Sinatras right up there with the Gabrinis are my favorite family. It is never a dull moment with them. The Sinatras always come out on top. You mess with one you mess with all. Can't wait until the next book.

I swear I have a crush on Charles “Big Daddy” Sinatra, and this book kept me guessing about what my “crush” was going to do “with a hammer” OR to his sister’s “significant other,” Hammer... and it wasn’t what I expected... it was BETTER! ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
