Some good details. Crazy liberal scholar! Thankfully, I'm reading N.T. Wright simultaneously. Very disjointed/unorganized.

I read this one sometime in my high school years and was fascinated by the treatment of the history of St. Paul and the early church. The author was a Unitarian minister, who died in 1957, and who had kept up with the current thinking of Liberal Protestant biblical scholarship and was busy absorbing the impact of the discovery a few years before, of the Dead Sea Scrolls. Much of what he wrote is kind of dated by now, but it certainly expanded my thinking back in the day. For current scholarship on St. Paul, I would recommend the writings of N.T. Wright.
