An Amazing collection of stories by six of my favorite authors. All connected with the Legend of the Blue Rose. Such a rare and mystical flower, legend has it that when it buds and blooms it fortells of enemies becoming lovers. Well how can that be?
A Rose for a Rouge by Collette Cameron
When I read a story by this author, I know I am always in for some whimsical characters and words I have not heard used in a long time and I love it! Chester, Marquess of Sterling has come home after years away due to word of his dying father. By happenstance ( or was it?) his horse goes lame at the tavern and he gets a ride from Eden (Eglantina Eden Haverden) to his home. Of course Eden has her beloved dog with her and her horse has a sun bonnet on its head! Chester is totally enchanted and finds out she if the illegitimate sister of the man who killed his brother years ago. one thing leads to another and as he takes her to her home, she shows him her rose garden and there is the blue rose with buds on it. I loved Eden! She was very whimsical with her pet squirrel Acorn and her menagerie of people. Chester was just swoon worthy and I loved the interaction between the two. I loved Chester's thoughts "There was something truly unique about Miss Eden Haverden". Can the legendary rose bring them together even though their families had been enemies? You will be totally enchanted by this story and heave a heartfelt sigh at the end.

Quinn saw her as a dream goddess because when he woke he she was not there but he remembered what she said. Quinn's grandfather, Chief of the Campbells had massacred the Lamonts and thought none were left. Alice is the the last clan chief left due to her grandmother taking her into hiding 20 yrs ago. Now Alice's grandmother has decided she should marry and they attend a gathering of clans who all compete in different tournaments. Quinn actually meets Alice there but fighting breaks out and Quinn is wounded. So it is up to her to help him heal. Can long time enemies ever come together? Can they stop another feud and bring what is left of the Lamont clan and the Campbells together? Although a novella, the author packed a lot of action and emotions into the story and I could not help but sigh at the end!

Planting roses around his grave she always hoped the elusive blue rose would grow that her mother had spoke about. She had told her wondrous things happen when the rose bloomed.
As her older brother Miles returned from war he brought the man who had killed her brother, Graden Dumounf with him. She was furious and only wanted him gone
This is a wonderful story of two people who are really lost, each with only one purpose in mind. The hatred Elenor felt for Graden and wanted him to suffer and Graden's search for the blue rose. But why was he trying to find it? Will Elinor ever forgive him for the death of her brother ?
There were many mentions of roses through the centuries and their significance that were amazing
Prepare to be enchanted and feel the power of the blue rose!
The Gentleman’s Seduction by Lauren Smith
Be still my heart. Martin Banks was a man on a mission. When he was seventeen, he and his family had been thrown out of their house due to not being able to pay a debt owed to Edwin Hartwell. It literally killed his mother and they had to somehow survive.
Fast forward sixteen years and Martin has worked hard and become a wealthy man.
Livvy Hartwell is the young beautiful daughter of Edwin and in a desperate move she ends up with Martin as “his mistress” to pay a debt her father now owed Martin.
Such a wonderful story as only Lauren Smith can tell. The characters came alive and I felt for them both. Martin was such a wounded soul who needed healing and Livvy was full of life and such a good person.
I loved when she thought “I have to stop reading gothic novels. Her fantasies were starting to affect her rational mind”
Can these two find love together? How does the blue rose play into their story? A must read to find out all the answers and sigh as you turn to the end.
Scottish Rose by Elizabeth Rose
An Emotional tale about Scottish Lass Coira Duff marrying Englishman Sir Lance to have their clans make an alliance. But how would it be marrying a man you had never met? Then he takes her back to his newly owned Liddel Castle where Coira and her sister had been held by the English six years ago and had been put in hanging cages until their release. Lance had taken over the castle although Lord Ralston came back to claim it. He was the man who had taken Coira prisoner years ago. There is so much I can say about this story because I really felt for the characters. Each trying to come back from the past and trying to move forward. Coira had her fears and with Lance's help tried to overcome them, but with several twists and turns, she finds herself treated as captive by Ralston. Could she and Lance find their happy ever after? How did the blue rose come into play to unite them? Prepare to be left with a heartsmile and looking to the next book in this amazing collection!

All seven novellas are standalone stories but revolve around the legend of the blue rose – when the blue rose blooms, enemies become lovers. What a great premise for a compilation of stories. I will admit some authors were new to me, some not, but I loved every story! The anthology is very inexpensive but worth so much more when you consider how many hours of enjoyment you will get from reading these stories.
A Knight and His Rose by Catherine Kean
Violetta Molineaux and Osric Seabrook’s story – they unexpectedly meet one night and end up watching the stars. Lettie suspects Osric is the heir to the Seabrook name, which happens to be the enemy of Violetta’s family. While walking back home, Violetta falls down a hole that is on Seabrook land. She is ultimately rescued by Osric who takes her home and has his healer care for her. He sends a message to Violetta’s father; however, the message that arrives is not quite the same as what was sent. Who would dare change the message and cause further anger between the two families? Molineaux sends an ultimatum – return Lettie or face war. Will Osric fight Violetta’s father? Will the blue rose stop the feud between the families?
This was my first story by Catherine Kean but it will not be my last. I thoroughly enjoyed this novella!

Coira MacDuff wants to help her clan, she just isn’t sure marrying Lord Lance de Selby is the best way to do it. And she doesn’t feel any better when she pulls “the blue rose card” when having her cards read by a gypsy. It only gets worse when Lance tells her they will be going to Liddel Castle, the castle he inherited from his uncle. Unbeknownst to Lance, Coira was a prisoner of his uncle at Liddel Castle 6 years prior. How does she explain her imprisonment to Lance? She doesn’t have to - another uncle shows up and explains the situation. The story that ensues is full of romance, mystery, intrigue involving a Stone of Destiny, and a dog named Sweetcakes. A lovely story where the blue rose blooms and does help enemies become lovers.
This story had characters from other Elizabeth Rose books, but it isn’t necessary to have read the other books to follow the story line. I do plan on going back and reading the previous book so I can get a better understanding of the Stone of Destiny. I thoroughly enjoyed the story!!

Ella despises Graden for being involved in her brother Edwin’s death. However, Ella’s other brother Miles fights the French alongside Graden, who ends up saving Miles’ life. Miles and Graden become friends and Miles brings Graden back to their house for a visit. Graden is happy because he has heard Ella has vast experience growing roses. Has she ever seen a blue rose?
Ella seeks out the same witch, who says she can make Ella’s sadness disappear – the price is a blue rose. As Ella and Graden both search for the blue rose, they learn more about each other but also become more suspicious of each other. Will their search drive a bigger wedge between them or bring them closer? A wonderful story!!

Her grandmother has other plans that involve a clan get-together (and a dance) and a blue rose. Can they overcome years of distrust and hatred between the two families? Can Alice forgive or forget that Quinn’s grandfather called for the destruction of her clan? Or will the blue rose bloom and help them find the way to each other? A wonderful story!!

On their way they are stopped and told the MacRyans attacked their castle, killing and plundering the village. In the aftermath, they find Brodie’s love, Jenna dead and their father nearly dead. They set out to take the most logical action – seek vengeance and destroy the MacRyan by taking his daughter, Rowena.
Rowena is set to marry Duncan MacKenny, an action that will create an alliance between the two clans. Rowena’s father, however, sends her on an impromptu visit to see her grandparents. The visit seems odd as do the rumors swirling about that her father called for a nighttime raid against the MacAllen clan.
Logan and Brodie capture Rowena and Brodie’s goal of killing Rowena in exchange for Jenna’s death seems possible. There is betrayal, mystery, and intrigue in this story as well as a blue rose. A wonderful story!

After an accident in the rain Eden must spend the night at Chester’s home. The duke does not approve but Chester wins the argument. When Eden’s half-brother Simon learns of Eden’s actions, he isn’t happy either and their argument leads to Eden and her mother being tossed from their home.
Chester falls for Eden quickly but finds it difficult to convince Eden they are right for each other. But he is patient and is ready to follow his heart.
The story has everything you want – romance; angst; a dark, handsome hero; a smart, witty heroine; two nasty family members (not sure who was worse!); and cute animals (Peony, Mr. Wiggles, and Acorn). I thoroughly loved this story!!

Many years later, Martin ends up owning Hartwell’s vowels. When Martin calls on him to pay and seeing his beautiful daughter offers a choice – pay the debt in full or leverage the daughter. Lavinia sees the opportunity to save her home for her parents so she agrees to the terms.
Martin sets Lavinia up as his mistress, buying her lovely gowns, but does not force her to share his bed, fairly certain she will succumb to his charms in time. What follows is a lovely story of strangers to lovers, sort of a marriage of convenience. It is only a matter of time before they succumb to each other – but who will admit their desire first? I thoroughly loved this story!!
Readers will recognize Martin and Helen from Lauren Smith’s previous book The Duelist’s Seduction. However, The Gentleman’s Seduction is a stand-alone story you will enjoy whether you have read the prior or not.

I love the concept of this anthology, all the novellas are standalone, but they all incorporate the "Legend of the Blue Damask Rose" The legend of the rose is that when the rare Blue Damask rose blooms, enemies will become lovers.
I was not able to read every novella in the collection (so many books, so little time!!), but I will definitely be coming back to read the ones I missed as soon as my reading scheduled lightens a bit!
Highland Knight by Amy Jarecki - 4 stars - Quinn Campbell is traveling with his brother and kinsman to a gathering at Rothesay Castle when he spots a goddess, he chased the woman but loses her at the ruins of the old Lamont castle. The castle is now Campbell property, 20+ years ago, Quinn's grandfather laid siege to the castle and killed all the Lamonts. Alice Lamont escaped the massacre, her grandmother took her and fled when the siege started. They have lived in a small cottage for years and now her grandmother has decided it is time for Alice to marry. They also attend the gathering and Quinn finally meets his "goddess". When fighting breaks out and Quinn is wounded, it is up to Alice to care for him. But when they return to Rothesay days later, it is clear that the Campbells and the Lamonts are still mortal enemies - Can Quinn and Alice find a way to stop the feud before it escalates and any chance they have for a HEA is ruined? This story was short, sweet and to the point, it was well written and flowed well, but it is a bit of an "insta-love" story and wasn't long enough to build up the romance between them. Nonetheless, it was very good.

This story was very well done and while it is short, it was definitely paced perfectly and the love between Chester and Eden felt fully developed.
After reading these two novellas, I really wish I had the time the entire book!! This collection is priced so low, that even if you only read one novella, it is well worth the price!! I will definitely be coming back to finish this book and will update my review at that time.

Highland Knight by Amy Jarecki - 4 stars - Quinn Campbell is traveling with his brother and kinsman to a gathering at Rothesay Castle when he spots a goddess, he chased the woman but loses her at the ruins of the old Lamont castle. The castle is now Campbell property, 20+ years ago, Quinn's grandfather laid siege to the castle and killed all the Lamonts. Alice Lamont escaped the massacre, her grandmother took her and fled when the siege started. They have lived in a small cottage for years and now her grandmother has decided it is time for Alice to marry. They also attend the gathering and Quinn finally meets his "goddess". When fighting breaks out and Quinn is wounded, it is up to Alice to care for him. But when they return to Rothesay days later, it is clear that the Campbells and the Lamonts are still mortal enemies - Can Quinn and Alice find a way to stop the feud before it escalates and any chance they have for a HEA is ruined? This story was short, sweet and to the point, it was well written and flowed well, but it is a bit of an "insta-love" story and wasn't long enough to build up the romance between them. Nonetheless, it was very good.

The problem is that she is a member of a family with whom his family has feuded since a duel that took his brother’s life, a feud he would like to see end. As it turns out, the old duke isn’t dying (I think he might be too mean to die). His calling Chester home is a ploy to have him betrothed (in a marriage of convenience and advantage). When he refuses, the old duke and Miss Eden’s brother each work to have her and her mother leave. Remember, I said the duke was too mean to die. Miss Eden’s brother isn’t much better. Is there any way Chester can win in a battle with these two? Can he get them to end the feud? Is there a way for him and Miss Eden to be together? Chester is pretty smart, so it is possible.
This one of my favorite stories in the Waltz With a Rogue series. Chester and Eden have great chemistry. They would both like to help the families make amends within the families and between the families. The story flows along quickly with a good dose of action and drama, as well as a surprise or two, and a blue rose. 5 stars!

He threatens Lance and Coira for information about the Stone of Destiny. Lance will have to decide what is most important to him. What does he want most, the castle or true happiness with Coira? His answer, and Coira’s, might be found in the garden. I enjoyed this story. There were characters here that were familiar from other stories before this one. Coira and Lance were good for each other, at first naïve, then growing together. There was a surprise or two along the way, but I like the mostly straightforward, uncomplicated plot. 5 stars!

Collette does it again!! Rogues to Lovers: Legend of the Blue Rose by Collette Cameron is in a collection with a group of wonderful authors. Collette has such a creative mind and her character are so amazing that you can’t help but fall in love them. I love that she has included great animal characters as well which Collette is famous for and also a blue rose. This is a standalone story and what a story it is. It is a page turner! This story is sad and cruel but has a HEA. This story has enemies, hate, kindness, a mother’s love, rape, rescue, illness, deceit, cruelty, a fire, verbal abuse, scandal, neglect, love at first sight and so much more. I highly recommend you read this story, you won’t regret it!

This is a very good, value-priced set of novellas by seven talented authors. Each offering is a standalone work, yet all incorporate the legend of the blue rose, whose premise is that when it blooms, enemies will become lovers. Each story spans a different time period, from Medieval through Regency. They run the gamut from intrigue to adventure, to battles, to deceit, to scandal, and a lot more. I can say each story is romantic and they range from sweet, to mild or moderately sensual, to steamy. I highly recommend this bargain-priced boxed set.
The reasons why I enjoyed this book: it had wonderful characters, was entertaining, easy to read, immensely romantic, and had a happily ever after.

i loved the stories in this book each authors, give their stories using the
legend, of the rare blue rose , it is said that enemies will become lovers. In each of these stories the story plot is around a enemy that happen to get together and they find love that is forbidden and the trip that they travel to get the happy ever after is full of adventure that will take you along for the ride, this book is a most read if you love adventure and love winning over hate.

Very cool collection
7 authors write stories using the Legend of the Blue Rose which is apparently that when this very rare rose blooms, enemies become lovers. All were very good and some authors were new to me. However I was not surprised to see Collette Cameron who loves everything BLUE to have her own tale in this book. Family feuds were nothing the Blue Rose couldn't handle.

According to the legend, when the rare blue rose blooms, enemies will become lovers. Seven authors take this legend and each one creates a story based upon it. The stories span time from Medieval times thru the regency, and they are filled with romance, intrigue, and some battles. Very much enjoyed each author's unique take on the theme.

I have enjoyed reading every one of these stories, each one is special, unique and wonderful. Whether or not there is a legend of a blue rose, I'd like to think there is. This wonderful group of authors has brought magic to the pages. I've never read an anthology that I'd give 5 stars to every story in it, but this one I do! I received an ARC and choose to leave my honest review.

I loved each story in this book. Some of the authors were new to me and I enjoyed their work and will definitely be reading more. The premise of this joint collaboration is that when the rare blue rose blooms, enemies become lovers. Each story covers this and each in a different way! I loved this book!

Cameron is one of those talented authors that I follow religiously. If she sneezed on a book, I would probably buy it. Her stories are generally witty, creative and have some spicy romance in them. She generally sets them during the Regency Era - one of my favorite time periods to read about. I think I have read all of her books. A Rose for a Rogue is another winning story. I loved the hero and the heroine. Both have unique personalities. I enjoyed the story line and found it to be unpredictable. I like that about Cameron’s writing.

I enjoyed O’Donnell’s spin on the myth of the blue rose. A Knight Amid Thorns focuses on the thorns of life - grief, unforgiveness, longing. I thought the heroine was very believable in her grief and her struggle with unforgiveness towards her brother’s murderer. This is a sweet clean romance.

When Logan MacAllen returns to his keep only to find that most of his clansmen have been slaughtered by a feuding clan, he is devastated and seeks revenge by kidnapping the daughter of his enemy. Ann MacRyan is not who he thought she was. Can love bloom after such horrible devastation and between enemies? This was my first time to read a B.J. Scott book and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It is a fast paced read.

So far, I have only read Collette Cameron's story in this book, but if it is any indication, all the books will be winners. "A Rose for a Rogue" is a wonderful story of two people who share "a legendary love". Their families are enemies, they are from different classes, they have quite different ways of looking at life, and yet - perfect for each other. It's not all roses and sunshine (please excuse the pun) but that's what makes the story so compelling and such a good read. Highly recommend, and will be quickly reading the rest of the stories.

Collette Cameron's A Rose for a Rogue was a heartwarming story! We meet Manchester "Chester" Marquis of Sterling (from Wallflower's Wicked Wager) during his trip to his father's home. The old cranky duke wants his son married off. Chester has other ideas. He needs some assistance after his horse is injured and darling Miss Eden gives him a lift home. After an accident she must spend the night at his home. She is the illegitimate daughter of his father's enemy and being under the same roof doesn't go over well with the Duke. It doesn't take Chester long to fall in love and realize he needs Eden (and her array of pets) but convincing Eden to accept and trust him is a whole other story. Eden doesn't trust the "upper" crust. Her mother and Eden have lived content in a cottage off her father's land and her Half brother is not happy about it. When Simon learns that his sister has spent an unchaperoned night with the enemy he has some words. Words that Chester does not like. Their argument gets Eden and her mother thrown out. Now she must find work and does (as Chester's housekeeper) and provide for her mother. Now Chester has his work cut out for him. Eden is his heart and he really must make her see it.

These stories had me laughing, crying and on the edge of beyond sleepiness, striving to stay awake to keep on reading to find out how the story developed. Great characters, great authors, and great novellas.

One of the things about a collection like this is the chance to read authors I hadn't before. It's interesting to see how the authors all interpret the same topic so differently: Enemies to Lovers, the promise of the blue rose.
