“It was foolish of you to come here,” he says. “You won’t escape this time.”
Rey looks at him, at the Stormtroopers, at the combat walkers. She gives the illusion of thinking it over, and then says, “You’re right."
She presents her wrists to him. “I surrender myself to the authority of the First Order.”

Three years after the Battle of Crait, Rey, Resistance hero and teacher to a budding new Jedi Order, once again delivers herself into the hands of the enemy. To provide cover for a maneuver that could deal a serious blow to the First Order, she must gamble with the thing she knows its Supreme Leader wants most: herself.
There are some stories that you read the first time and know with a certainty you will revisit it again because of how much you liked it....well I won't be surprised if I start re reading this annually.
“It doesn’t frighten you? Going to bed with a monster?” Rey looks back at him. His eyes, nearly black in this light, are too fixated on her for him to pretend that her answer means nothing. “Not when the monster is mine,” she replies. He turns his head to kiss her fingers, and he kisses the spot on her thigh that he’d sucked red, and then he ducks his head, to devour her.
Oh, I loved this. Still in the mood for Reylo after The Love Hypothesis so picked this up. I know that this pairing is a bit problematic and that it's not everyone's cup of tea but I enjoy it so much. This fic was so gripping and REAL. There was no sugar coating and grand gestures, I loved that Kylo/Ben didn't just turn around and become good over night or solely because of Rey. He's complex and confusing and there is turmoil in both characters. I loved that it portrays them and their situation as not entirely black and white. The language used is so interesting. It's written from Rey's pov but because of the connection between them you get insight into both of their thinking and emotions. Entirely captivating to read because it showed duality in both of these characters, their struggles and inner turmoil. How some things are never as they seem, how trauma shapes a person. An excellent read, 10/10. I'm already starting the second part in the series.
This fan fiction was written better than most books/novels I’ve read, I’m in shock as to how good this was. My roommate and I were reading at the same time, so getting together to discuss everything was such a fun time. I even woke up around 3 am to go to the bathroom to find her reading it on her phone in the dark :) Time well spent honestly, and it is clear that so much effort was put into this writing!
I was so excited that the emotional damage was going to be stretched out over two books, but the lack of a finished sequel really has me grumbling. I wish I’d known before reading 😩
I really enjoyed the first 3/4 of this read and then I was just rushing to finish it. It was bad at all but I think it was just too much angst for my liking. I’d hoped to have more closure in the epilogue but it was more of a set up for an unfinished (but explained) sequel.
I love Reylo a lot and I just like to see more HEA with them. My heart was truly breaking for Ben but there is hope for them in the epilogue even without a completed sequel.

Honestly, an amazing book. Personally, I loved the plot and the inner turmoil of the characters. Also, I am a sucker for romance where the guy SIMPS as this manz did. Overall 10/10. Amazing. Anything that could be dismissed as being bad is really made up for in my eyes via the romance.
My biggest no no when it comes to novels is usage of Present Tense to tell the story. This one however is the only exception I made because the story was just too good for me to abandon it.
