Can they trust each other enough to survive the dangers that confront them?
“Tis a truth I must warn ye of. I love ye, and tis brutal that ye are alive three hundred years away.” — Magnus 1702
Magnus and Kaitlyn try to begin their life together but there are dangerous forces that must be reckoned with. A time-journeying vessel that they can't seem to control. And a long history that stands between them.
Magnus has found love and a home in 2017 — but what happens to Kaitlyn if she travels to 1702?
“I’m right here, on you, flesh and blood. I am yours, and time and space don’t matter. We transcend. That is the truth of it.” —Kaitlyn 2018

This is another amazing installment to this series. The journey back in time is hard on Kaitlyn and Magus - but it even harder when she returns without him. The agony that she feels leaks through the page and the anxiety to get Magus and Kaitlyn back together eats at you - in the best way! - while you are reading this book. Kaitlyn grows a lot in this book as a woman and takes control of her life. Its good to see this side of her because in book one she was kind of lost and even when she 'got' Magus she was still just floating along taking one day at a time. this time you see her think about the future more and i really enjoyed seeing this side of her.
DNF page 87. I tried but I couldn’t get into it. Kaitlyn was very immature and not relatable from the first book- I thought she might be better during this one but no such luck for me.
EH. Kaitlyn is still stupid but matures a bit. Magnus was a huge turn off for me after Kaitlyn's rape scene. Hayley, her best friend, is willing to believe anything she says, after being on a retreat "rehab" for several months. Her parents manage to look after her finances and estate, but she's mad at them for firing Zach, even though her reckless decision led to his departure. James is the only one asking the OBVIOUS questions and coming up with the OBVIOUS facts, but everyone is quick to dismiss him and refer to him as this unlikable character. I'm not convinced to finish the series..

This second book in the series was definitely better than the first. Kaitlyn's character was a great deal more mature thus more to my liking. A lot happened in this book but the questions I wanted answers for after book one, about the vessel and Magnus's mother and father, remained unfortunately unanswered. There was intirque, battle and the everyday brutal reality of 1702's Scotland for Kaitlyn to experience and she got her emotional scars to prove it. I found Magnus's mother a very controversial character and couldn't decide yet if she was a supervillain or just a great manipulator who contemplates history through time and space. I didn't get my answers only more questions but still decided to go on with the next book as there was enough development to keep my interest.
Kaira Stevens's narration is still phenomenal. Her accents are magnificent, her voice is pleasant and good to listen to.
This was a lot darker than the first book. Some parts were hard to read but it was too good to stop reading.
I love the characters. Kaitlyn is witty and doesn't let much keep her down. Her friends have have her back. Her parents kind of suck but they aren't evil or anything.
I wasn't a big fan of Magnus for a lot of this book. What I loved about him before was that he laughed at Kaitlyn's banter with her ex instead of being the typical jealous alpha like in other books. But he tried pulling the "your my wife so you'll do what I say" crap in this book. He loves Kaitlyn so much that it saved him from punching him through the book.
I enjoyed the first and both have been an easy read so far. The writing and Grammer remind me more of my highschool days when I dabbled around with short stories. There could be more descriptive detail put into the story. I also agree with a lot of the other reviews that Katie is a bit of a whiney teenager instead of the 23 yr old young adult that she is supposed to be... Maybe my ideas will change with the continuing books, but for now, this series is just something to read to pass the time. Plus I do not like to stop a series, no matter how bad they are.
I loved to see Kaitlyn grow up in this book, she still isn't perfect which makes it believable. I got to learn more about Magnus's origins, meet his family, Kaitlyn got a reality check about what it's like to be in a Scottish castle. Despite being in desperate need of sleep, I kept reading because I wanted to know what happened next.
Eagerly looking forward to book 3.
I received a complimentary advanced review copy in exchange for an unbiased review.
I enjoyed Book 2 of the Kaitlyn and the Highlander series. It was almost as good as the initial novel, with Kaitlyn "going" to 18th-century Scotland with her new husband, Magnus. The new villains, Lady Mairead and Lord Delapointe, were nice added touches. And I loved Kaitlyn's cursing to the latter character, who didn't really understand all the 21st-century profanities! I also enjoyed Magnus's searching through time to find Kaitlyn, leaving a message or two for her in her past.
It was also great how we learned more about how Magnus coped with modern technology (watching SpongeBob on TV, for example) and how Kaitlyn dealt with past customs and living conditions (using chamber pots, for instance). Of course, they miss ice cream, McDonald's burgers, and coffee when they're in the past.
The author is good at coming up with amusing passages (such as Kaitlyn and Magnus joking about a rat in their castle room being "asked" to drag her purse, with a cell phone in it, over to her so she can "call" an exterminator) and her "wondering" in the 1700s where to find therapists and missing Facebook. I laughed when Magnus was often seen as "that Outlander guy" by people. And Magnus has whip marks on his back (just like Jamie in Outlander).
The book was a quick read and I am now starting Book 3.
This is the second book of Kaitlyn and the Highlander series. I really had fun with the first book so, I had to buy the second book whenever I could because I was pulled in by the story. This one starts right after the events of the first book after Magnus comes back home to Kaitlyn. It explores more of their relationship and their marriage. This one was a little roller coaster of emotions in this book.
This one was a bit of a roller coaster with the couple as problems arise as Kaitlyn is thrown back into his century. And, it is a whole different world compared to 2017. She learns about how life works in that century and how absolutely brutal it can be.
This one I couldn’t barely put down. I wish I didn’t have to go to work I would’ve read it in one day but, this makes me want to go by the third book immediately after I am getting done with this review. I just wanted to leave a review because I wanted the author to know I highly enjoyed the first two books.
I enjoyed this book more than the first. We dive deeper into Kaitlyn and Magnus's relationship and really get to know them. The title is perfect for this story as time and space do keep them apart. long distance romances ar so hard, imagine addin in the factor of time. Each trip is dangerous and when Kaitlyn has to return without Magnus, she has no way to know what is going on. I felt her relief as he returned to the present, or the future. The jumps were smooth and not confusing in this book. Kaitlyn and Magnus really did grow a lot together. I did understand kaitlyn more in this installment and was able to really enjoy her story.
Keira Stevens once again narrated this story with a wonderful performance. Keeping the characters consistent made the flow between the two books seamless. Keira really brought Kaitlyn to life in this installment. Kaitlyn's strength and will was made apparent from the narration. I cannot wait to hear more in this series and from Keira.
I listened to the Audible version. This is not a stand alone book in that you have to have read Kaitlyn and the Highlander first. Their story continues beyond book 2, but I actually think book 2 ends in a good place.
I also liked the characters a lot better in the second book than in the first book. They seem to have mostly grown up, though there is a reference to "being a grown up and quitting after my shift" that made me think most responsible grown ups would give two weeks notice.
Keira Stevens does a great job with the narration making it really easy to listen to the story. I don't speak Gaelic so I have no idea if she's doing it right, but I give her a lot of credit for making it sound easy.
If you made it through the first book, I would recommend listening to this one.
Title: Time and Space Between Us Author: Diana Knightley Format: Audio Narrator: Keira Stevens Genre: Romance - Time Travel Standalone: Yes-ish Part of a Series: Book 2 of the Kaitlyn and the Highlander POV: Kaitlyn Steam Level: Toasty at times 5/5
I am completely hooked and in love with this series! Time and Space Between Us is darker but also more action-packed. While you don't necessarily need to read Kaitlyn and the Highlander first, I highly recommend it as it sets up this world and the characters within. This world grows and expands in Time and Space Between Us and the determination that Magnus shows is tremendous and sweet.
I received this audiobook for free from Audiobook Obsession. This is my honest and voluntary review.
I'm going to pick up my review where I left off the first book, after all this 20 series book is just one big book, right. I hate the friends and family. (Not Hayley, and not Zach or Emma tho. The Michael, James, ex-boyfriend friendship just detracts from the whole story) The one fiery point of the book, was when Kaitlyn grew a spine and time traveled with Magnus. He was so mad at her, then she gets raped by Magnus' cousin, and Magnus' response to her being raped was turning point for them and visceral in their short relationship. Kaitlyn felt mature in the moment by force. When she returns home, however, she is back to the annoying people she allows to surround her and the lets have beers because no one is mature enough to just support a friendship.

I really enjoyed this listen from Diana Knightley, This is the second in the Kaitlyn and the Highlander series, which is a time-travel romance following Kaitlyn and Magnus, and it is so much fun, and just a pure delight.
Keira Stevens does a great job bringing Kaitlyn to life, and the she really captures the humor and the fun of these novel. The novel is very whimsical and full of humor. In this second novel, Kaitlyn and Magnus are married, and Magnus has travelled back in time with Kaitlyn, but they've been separated. A lot of the novel is how they find their way back to each other.
Such a fun listen, and I'll definitely be listening to the rest of this series.
The storyline for the 18th Century Highlander (Magnus Campbell), and the 21st Century Kaitlyn Sheffield Campbell keeps you guessing. I keep reading to discover what will happen next, and Diana Knightley (author) does not disappoint. Kaitlyn’s unexpected trip back to 18th Century Scotland was scary; however, her return to her time with new planted thoughts and experiences appearing in her dreams from Magnus as he attempted to reach out to her as he kept trying to let her know he was trying to come home to her kept you riveted as you waited for what was next.
Oohh.. I'm really binge reading this series. So this time there's a twist, as in, in this book somehow Kaitlyn goes with Magnus back in time, in the 1700s.
We get to meet Magnus's family and also so much of madness happens in this one. Living life in that time when you are from the modern times is so difficult for Kaitlyn but she does her best.
The twists in this one were so freaking good, especially those series of events towards the end.. Oh my freaking goodness... I was over the top freaked out and the freaking twists... Wow... Time travel with a whole new angle for your love... Ahhh.. I absolutely loved it.
Book 2 in the series continues the story of Magnus and Kaitlyn. When Magnus returns to his own time, Kaitlyn accidentally is brought with him. She is able to escape but he remains behind in the 18th century. Ms Knightley continues to provide interesting characters in intertesting situations and the reader can't help but wonder how the two will ever be reunited. While the book has a happy ending you can't help but wonder if bad times are ahead before they get their permanent Happily Ever After.
Still completely in love with Magnus. And I love how Kaitlyn is growing as a character. She really stepped up in this book.
But there are definitely some frustrating moments here. Read: the cellar scene. Everything about that upset me. Also, the author is clearly a sadist. All I want is for Kaitlyn and Magnus to be together all the time, yet it is never the case. I have a feeling there is only more separation to come throughout the series.
Regardless, I can’t stop reading. All the painful moments are made up for by incredibly romantic, sexy moments that I wish would never end.
The first book felt a bit silly but did hook me into the story enough to read this one. I must say, this felt less silly and there was more story and more adventure here. I really quite enjoyed it. Fine literature it isn't but definitely entertaining. I must say that the author is very good at dialogue and the female lead is really pretty funny. A word for those who don't like profanity, this one had a fair amount in it. Not a problem for this potty mouth though. I am definitely sucked into the series now.
Story line has gotten better for me and caught my interest but I'm still up in the air on the series
I wasn't sure about this series in book 1 my interest has been piqued in book 2. I want to know about the mean father in law and what's going on with Magnus mother? How long did Magnus feel he was gone for and how did he figure out the right time jump how many jumps did he make? How long will he stay and what happened to those paintings in the house? Obviously I have a lot of unanswered questions so on too book 3.
In book one I was disappointed in the modern time characters somewhat. Perhaps my age difference with the characters. Kaitlyn was not the typical female lead in that she was not virginal at all. And it seemed odd that someone from the 1700's would just understand that. The mother in law is wicked and adds to the story. Book two we see maturity in Kaitlyn and she has settled down. It's a good read, not near as deep as Outlander. It is a good read and I do look forward to continuing the series.
Magnus needs to go back in time to help his mother. Just as he's ready to go back, warriors return for him. Kaitlyn goes to help him as he is fighting and gets caught in the time warp and goes with him. They are both captured by Magnus step father, but Kaitlyn escapes and goes back to the present. Magnus's Mother returns and takes the time wand. Kaitlyn patiently waits for Magnus to return, and he does.
This is the second book in the Kaitlyn and the Highlander Series, a Contemporary Romance mixed with a Historical Romance, and a time travel story. The story continues where the first book left off. The storyline is suspenseful and action packed. I love Magnus and Kaitlyn together. The cast of supporting characters is great. Keira Stevens did a great job with the narration, and the accents. Looking forward to listen to the next book in the Series, Warrior of My Own.
Having been absorbed in Outlander for that past few months I was seeking a lighter read. The first Kaitlyn and the Highlander book was a bit superficial, especially Katie’s flakey friends. But Book 2 has more adventure and plot twists and some laugh out loud surprises that made the book more compelling. I look forward to reading the rest in the series.
Enjoyable, easy read. Even in the book, Magnus is compared to Jaime in Outlander. A very similar storyline, without the history lessons. A totally romantic novel, true love, destiny, will search forever until they find each other again, Scottish man with a sword that has time-traveled from the Eighteen Century, etc, etc. But, you do get caught up in the characters, Kaitlyn and Magnus. There are 10 books so far, kind of a long romantic series, but you are curious about the next adventure.
Got through 2 of these books in a day of reading because they are delicious and easy to blast through. The characters are interesting and I am curious to know more. It's good to see Kaitlyn might be growing up a bit as she was hard work in the first book but as another reviewer wrote, you don't have to like all the characters to enjoy a book. And so far these are very enjoyable books. Thanks DK xx
adventurous challenging emotional funny hopeful mysterious reflective sad tense medium-paced Plot- or character-driven? A mix Strong character development? Yes Loveable characters? Yes Diverse cast of characters? Yes Flaws of characters a main focus? No 4.5
Another great book. I truly breeze through these. They really suck you in and before you know it it’s over yet you’re left wanting to know what’s next. Adventures, heart break, love, humor …it’s all there.
After stumbling across the first book in the series I was completely hooked on Kaitlyn and Magnus, but after this one I know I’m going to be up all night binge reading every one I can get my hands on! Nail biting suspense and action keep you glued to the pages while epic romance that spans all time and distance steal your heart.
I am glad I stuck with this series...I think it is a well written unpredictable story for the most part... I really like that its original and not a copy of Outlander. I liked that it wasn't all just about sex and they didn't jump into bed, the steamy parts were very well written!! I really hate Katie's horrible parents. Not a fan of the cliffhanger, but it was ended well...On to book 3
Magnus Is from 300 years in the past and Kaitlyn is from the present and they find each other and fall deeply in love . But Magnus’s Mother has her own plans and Kaitlyns not included.. and she’ll stop at nothing to let her know it, including wanting her dead... this is book 2 of the series and it’s a great story, I’m so ready right now to start the next one... I’m addicted
