The day began like any other, but during the afternoon of September 18, 2015, the tiny heart of 22 month old Moriah Constance Wimberley would stop beating - only to never start again. It would be out of this unimaginable anguish that a West Texas oil man and his family would never view life the same again. Yellow Balloons - Power for Living Life Above the Circumstances is both a memorial and testimony to Moriah’s young life and how each of us can be blessed and empowered to live life above the agonies, the drudgeries, and the successes of our “two-minute ride” here on earth.
Drawing from a tested, but unwavering faith in God and His revealed truth in Scripture, Tim shares a better way to view life and challenges the believer to embrace their inner superhero, realizing they have been called to fight an evil superpower that is often cloaked in the ordinary and where more often than not, they feel like the underdog rather than the superhero God has empowered them to be.
Tim's writing is inspired by a cross section of authors in fiction from many genres including suspense, thrillers, science fiction and fantasy. He spends his free time on evenings and weekends serving his community, writing, creating art and preparing for the next day's events.
Only took me 2 years to read this book but I’m so glad I did! I had the privilege of staying with the author and his family 2 summers ago and this book is just a glimpse of the knowledge and wisdom that he has. It provides such a Godly perspective on grief, unwavering faith and business/ finances/ life in general! Highly recommend to anyone & everyone
This was a compelling read about how to be a person of joy and hope even in the trenches of life. Culled from a family tragedy and personal experiences, the author deftly shows how to gain greater perspective and maintain a peaceful outlook that rises above and looks to the eternal.
Thank you for this free eBook which I downloaded from the Yellow Balloons website having been led there by a devotional I'd read on YouVersion's daily story app. To begin, there were many typos in capitalization and spelling and an overkill in the use of the phrase "the true perspective". Also, I'm not sure about the chapter on angels watching and studying us in order to understand God's wisdom and experience knowing God by faith. Having said that, the book has many similar ideas and themes to Raised with Him, like finding purpose in the mundane to honor, serve, and please God, competing against ourselves (not others), and the concept of noblesse oblige (that the privilege has responsibilities to pass on gifts they have been stewarded with to bless others). I also like the lyrics of the song Yellow Balloons by the author's son David - they were beautiful and poignant.
I had this book in my digital library for several months before I was ready to read it. You see, our family experienced a tragic loss in December 2020 and the circumstances are never far from my mind.
The beginning of each chapter includes a link to song from Yellow Balloons Album by David Dunn (and other recordings). Each song prepared my heart for the lesson ahead.
For our momentary, light affliction is producing for us an eternal weight of glory far beyond all comparison, – 2 Corinthians 4:17 NASB

This book was amazing! Thank you Tim Dunn and David Dunn for the amazing words and songs in this book! Last year I was going through a lot of grief and pain and I really didn't know how to process it in a godly way. This book, Tim's YouVersion plans (which is how I discovered the book), and love from my home church are the only way that I got through it. I have also shared this book with a few friend's who have been loving it as well. So amazing! I highly recommend for those who are suffering or anyone who needs tips on how to live for God.
This book was amazing. It felt like a warm, comforting blanket. Tim Dunn is very thoughtful in his approach. His style is not preachy nor overbearing, but instead feels like a life-changing conversation with a father-figure or a trusted pastor. I really enjoyed it, and will undoubtedly return to again and again for a refresher on perspective.
