Kacey Jennings has been planning her mother's wedding for months, and it's all paid off. The day is a success, but when Kacey bumps into her social psychology lecturer, Madison Malone, on the dance floor, sparks fly.
What was Madison doing at her mother's wedding?
Kacey's been crushing on Madison for years. When would she ever get an opportunity like this to talk to Madison off campus?
What happens when your crush turns out to be so much more than that? What risks would you take to have a chance together?
Let's just say this book wasn't the best but I still enjoyed it because this genre is my guilty pleasure. Those like me who enjoy the professor/student trope would know how rare such books are, so when one like this comes out, we just have to read it.
Kacey has been harbouring a crush on her social psychology professor but she doesn't act on it and never gets noticed. That is until she spots Madison at Kacey's mother's wedding and they end up sharing a dance together, which leads to the promise of more. The general premise is great but there is a lot of invented drama surrounding this relationship due to deceit, some understandable and some needless. Madison doesn't recognise Kacey from her class so Kacey lies by omission and doesn't tell Madison that she's her student. It's wrong but I thought it's still understandable as Madison is already fretting about their huge age-gap. Madison also lies to Kacey but it's about something terribly dumb and she keeps this lie up for a long time so as not to look stupid. To be frank, I thought it was unnecessary and was probably inserted by the author to make the dynamics more balanced and Kacey look less bad.
Kacey and Madison's relationship is based on lust or at least it appears to be. They can't keep their hands to themselves and they have a lot of sex. Sure, I like the passion but I wish the author could have explored a deeper connection between the two main characters too.
There are issues with this story and also a couple of glaring typos, but I would still encourage fans of the trope to give this a shot mostly because of how rare such books are. It's on KU and the sex is good anyway. But let's lower our expectations about the rest, shall we?
1.5 stars. Didn't work for me, couldn't finish it. The drama seems overplayed and artificial. It's just a month for god sakes, it's not the end of the world. Wait a few weeks and it's done, you're not in kindergarten anymore so surely you have at least that much patience? Nope! Gotta stir some drama for the sake of drama. Same with the lies from both characters, it all feels too forced to me so I can't let go and believe it could actually happen. So even though I'm a huge age gap fan, I'm skipping this. Definitely not for me.
Spicy, romantic and charming story. The characters are easygoing, Kacey and Madison are great together despite the age gap. It's well written, erotic and passionate. I definitely recommend it.
It started off really well and I was hooked, wondering how Kacey's crush was going to develop... then the more the story went on the more I felt the author was just looking for drama to add to pad out the book. The writing wasn't pulling me in anymore and I skim read the last few chapters. Unfortunately this book wasn't really for me.
Weren’t entirely wild about the book and just not a book that I can snuggle with. I liked the plot but it was just missing the main ‘ingredient’ that I need to make this book into a page turner.....for me at least.
A happy ever after. A story that’s easily relatable to and so are the characters. I recommend it if you’re looking for a nice, easy to read lesbian romance.
Easy and simple plot. Attractive characters with a beautiful chemistry between them. A plot based in misunderstanding between main and secondary characters. A beautiful book for a lazy afternoon
😍 SATISFYING 😍 This writer can truly write too entertain. These character's were so real, and their challenges were so diverse. There is more but I'm going to digress. And just say I will definitely recommend this book. 😘😘😘💋💋💋💋💋. Definitely totally satisfied.
Dear Ms.Wyatt, congratulations on finishing+publishing this book. It didn't work for me, it had the forbidden romance trope, a favorite of mine but it lacked the edge, the bite, the sickening suspense feelings that I usually get when the couple was closed to being discovered. The age difference, it was mentioned at every other page, Einstein's e=mc2 had nothing on 4O-25.
I'm not giving up on Ms. Wyatt, if you have any recommendations on her other stuffs, I'm willing to try. This book is available on KU, Kindle price USD5.
Withholding the truth from someone bites when they too are withholding.
A student becomes enamored with a teacher. The teacher unknowingly befriends the student. A lie is formed by one them and the other lies about a fictional romance with someone else. Who wins when both are guilty? Find out by reading. Enjoy.
This was a wonderful story, lots if complications that made me squeal with delight. The kissing was appropriate and the love scenes were intense and romantic. Very well written.
I enjoyed the storyline and feel in love with the characters. I couldn't put it down . I finished the book in one sitting. I will definitely look for more books by this author.
The story is cute, funny, steamy and romantic. I couldn't stop reading it. It would be awesome if there was a second book about them getting married or something.
This May to December book series continues and this book is full length and not a novella. Sadly it is my least favorite so far. Kacey Jennings is graduating in business and works for her moms restaurant. She meets Madison, a lecturer at her college, at a wedding. Nothing can happen till she graduates in only four weeks but then the relationship begins. Unfortunately with a full length novel there isn't better character development. The two only talk about their age gap and rocky start. Of the two the younger one Kacey feels more mature. It seems the extra pages let the author include a lot of extra steam making it semi-erotica. Which meant I just skipped a bunch of pages. I didn't care if these two got together or not.
4 stars. The plot would’ve normally drove me nuts but Carol Wyatt absolutely made it work for me but I can see why others didn’t enjoy it as much. I thoroughly enjoyed it though. I loved that Kacey was Madison’s student but kept putting off telling her. It did drag a bit but it made for some great drama and angst once things get revealed. They’re separated for months and I loved the angst of the both of them trying to move on but failing. Once they moved past that and got back together was great because I really loved their chemistry. Madison is a bit reserved and she’s also fifteen years older than Kacey but Kacey really was great for her and to get her out of her shell. It’s a lovely romance once the characters get their shit together and I had a great time reading it.
The premise was promising but I feel the execution went kinda poorly.
The MCs, despite their persistence to develop their relationship outside of sex, felt short of it. I never felt like they really jived outside the bedroom.
Also the main plot point (that Madison was Kacey’s lecturer) was resolved too quickly and all plot points thereafter felt forced in such a way that it felt like they were placed there to lengthen the story. Not to mention that the conflicts could have been easily resolved if the MCs were mature enough to just literally talk.
Still I finished it and not DNFed so it’s still something for me.
I enjoyed this for the most part. Usually I don't like stories revolving around characters being dishonest with each other, but I didn't mind it here. The romance was cute, the characters were fine, but oh my god, too many ellipses. I knocked off a star because there were so many instances where a period or comma could have been used. Every other line had an ellipsis. There were also a few mistakes (referring to one woman by the other's name, stuff like that) but not a ton.
Quick read, would recommend for a flight or a beach trip or as a palate cleanser after reading something heavy.
Lots of incorrect or missing words, needed an editor badly. Got tired of the story; by 75% I just started skimming. Somehow that didn't make anything better. I really just didn't buy in. It wasn't so much the age difference, or the scenario, and I can buy into just about anything that is written well. Here I just couldn't figure out why I should care. Glad it was kindle unlimited.
Read as part of a collection "Forbidden Love." 3.75 out of 5 stars. Review: while the story is really cute overall, I would have actually enjoyed it as a short. More than half the story was having the two characters not keeping their hands off one another. While that's not really a bad thing I saw an ending (and would have been happy with it) at certain points. Overall a cute story. Short chapters and an easy read. I do recommend it.
Good story with interesting characters. Kacey rubbed me the wrong way sometimes. I found taking her seriously as an adult at times hard. I understand the problems with an age gap romance. My wife is 16 years younger then me. But the total disregard for her Professor Girlfriend’s job made it hard to think of her as an adult.
Some spelling errors but it was placed in a location making it funny. Anyway, lies can get you into such tight mental places that it can easily cause unreliability.
I read this around Sept 2020 but just realized I never added it to goodreads. Kacey runs into her psychology lecturer at her mother's wedding. The chemistry is immediate but the real world obviously presents some challenges for this teacher/student relationship.
