About the author

Augie has written more than 15 stories for children and has repeatedly won recognition from the Carlos Palanca Memorial Awards for Literature. He is one of the founding members of KUTING (Kuwentista ng mga Tsikiting), a group of Filipino writers of children's stories.

This is an informative children's book as it teaches the reader about dyslexic people. This medical condition is always discovered at the time when the child is trying to learn how to read. Because the child has difficulty in reading he or she may experience being ridiculed in class that will be hard for the child to bear. So, having this book around in a classroom would definitely help the class to understand their dyslexic classmate.

Parang may mga na-meet na akong ganito kagaya noong isang colleague ko sa U.S. na sinasabing noong bata pa siya ay dyslexic siya. Minsan yata sinusumpong pa kaya't kung magbasa siya ay pino-point niya ang mga letra sa computer, libro o dyaryo. Pero matalino siya at sa katunayan ay mataas ang katungkulan sa head office namin sa Ohio. Ganoon pala yon: lumilipad ang letra kapag nagbabasa ang bata. Kapag iniisip ko ito, parang game show lang sa TV - yong game na isa-isang lumalabas ang letra para sasabihin mo kung ano ang pinahuhulaan. Ang unang makahula ay siyang panalo. Siguro, pag sumali roon ang batang dylexic mananalo hehe.

Lagi ko ito binabasa dati sa school ko tungkol sa bata nahihirapan magbasa at malakas ang kanyang imahinasyon. Ang alam ko may dyslexia yun bata at tinutulong sya ng kanyang magulang/guro. Informative yun kuwento at hindi panget basahin.
