I had it all.

Or, at least, that’s what everyone else thought.

Between my husband being the president of the Demons of Hell and his club, I had a “family.”

Except the only thing that made us a family was my husband’s persistent reminders that it was.

But a family doesn’t turn a blind eye to things.

A family doesn’t let one of their own become a punching bag for their mistakes.
For all the pent-up anger and frustration for something that isn’t even my fault.

My “family” was the reason I nearly died.

And when Rage came into my life, he was all I could see.

The only thing that suddenly mattered.

Too bad I didn’t listen to the warnings before I became obsessed.
After all, with a name like Rage, what was I expecting?

This was a tale of two halves for me; one in which I really wish I could have liked much better than I did.
Ultimately It just wasn't for me and though I have previously loved books of this particular author "Scarred" (Demons of Hell MC Book 1) just didn't do it for me at all.
The first two-thirds of this story may not have blown me away but I was still somewhat onboard and invested in the relationship developing between Roxy and Vince.
I did struggle to feel the connection and also understand how he had looked sideways for years considering his overall feelings towards Roxy, but I tried to overlook that slightly due to the emerging story dynamic and its potential for some dramatic grovelling and explosive probable blowback.
But then everything seemed to go to hell in and a handbasket and I was left floundering around in the dark.
At around two thirds into this the whole relationship, dynamic changed completely and I didnt like it at all.
We had new entities in the form of two other males and a female brought into the equation and for me, it just didn't work.
We have the random use of the word daddy which just seemed to come abruptly out the blue and while when done in a certain way can certainly be hot here it just felt plain weird and a bit Eww.
I also didn't believe considering Roxy's background that she would be so up for these type of encounters; I mean the girl had been shared amongst her husband's cronies for years; I just can't see it myself.
I also struggled with just how graphic some of the situations portrayed here were after years of abuse at the hands of her husband and MC I would have liked to see Roxy catch a break not be placed back in such horrific circumstances.
And then there's poor Amy I just didn't see the need for her particular fate.
I did like the ending here but would still really like more of an explanation into why Rage is the way he is; I mean the guys certifiably nuts; surely there is more of an overall reason for his irrational actions towards his wife.
The epilogue here for me also raised more questions; why now after thirteen years is Rage stepping out of the woodwork? Why leave it so long?
So Look this really wasn't my flavour but that's not to say it won't be yours.
I have read Elizabeth Knox books that I have absolutely adored this one just wasn't my particular bag. It had its moments and if I'm honest I enjoyed the first half much more than the second.
It wasn't actually badly written we just didn't click and I struggled with the overall violence here.
I'm no stranger to these type of storylines but I think with such violence and dark behaviour a counterbalance of extremities is needed to balance things out slightly.
You know that we are soul mates till the end of days and I will love you till my dying breath sort of affection; something that isn't voiced just felt deep within; but I really didn't feel that emotion here and maybe that's where my issues lie.
It just seemed to me to be cruelty and brutality for shock-value rather than the added progression of the overall storyline.
So sorry I couldn't like this more than I did.
Finally a warning this book has some very hard-core rape and abuse scenes please do avoid if this is at all a trigger for you.
Thank you to the author for providing me with an ARC of "Scarred (Demons of Hell MC Book 1)" of which I have reviewed voluntary.
All opinions are entirely my own.

Too many things to list. Major things I didn't like:
-She stayed for years and took the beatings he gave her even while she's pregnant; the first 13% of the book is dedicated to in depth descriptions of the beatings and how badly mistreated the h is
-She stayed even when he let other club members pull trains and gang rape her
-The so-called hero of the story knew she was being badly abused and shared for years before he stepped up to save her after she was beat with a bat, nearly killed and aborted her baby in the 5th month
-The H takes her to her brother's MC where they join that club and the H ends up having sex with Aimee who is in a 3 way relationship with two MC members. Ends with with all 5 having sex
-Aimee gets killed by the villain and the h ends up in a four way relationship with Aimee's two men and her own man
-Ends in a cliffhanger when the villain shows up 13 years later and kidnaps the 13 year old daughter of the h for revenge.
If there ever was a book so OTT it becomes unbelievable......................

I’ll give this 2 stars because I did read the ending. This is the second MCc book I’ve read this weekend where the fmc is a punching bag. The h is married to The Prez - Rage. Clue up sister if someone’s nickname is Rage you’re in for a bad situmication! Meanwhile all the guys even the H who is in love with her just stand idly by while she’s hospitalized every other day for years after being beaten half to death. The H Finally escapes with her after Rage goes ballistic on her with his version of Lucille- TWD. I skimmed a lot. I also read the sneak peak to the next book hmm …which is the H and h’s daughters book. That’s an effed up mess ! Rage kidnaps this couples daughter when she’s 13 thinking she’s his daughter…when he finds out she’s not his daughter at 17 …..because she needs a blood TX after they are in a car wreck…. he and his buddies rape her in her hospital bed. Then wrinkled up white headed Rage rapes her and abuses her for years. Totally can’t buy that the parents and their RH don’t find a way to rescue a 13 yo in the clutches of the monster they know Rage to be. I think this author doesn’t think things through with any logic and just throws dark shit out there to be doing it.

Scarred by Elizabeth Knox is Book One in the Demons of Hell MC series. This is the story of Roxy and
Tex. Roxy is married to Rage, the President of The Demons of Hell MC and is physically abused by him. Tex is part of the gang and once dated Roxy until Rage took her from him. Now after the last beating and lost of her baby, Tex has gone forward to try and protect her. But their feelings start to grow and the danger of Rage grows too.
Exciting Dark Romance.....there is some trigger scenes in this book so use caution.

Where to start.. You'll want to hold onto your seat with this book. I'm pretty speechless after reading this book. It's an intense ride, but like any of Elizabeth's books, it's simply amazing! Her darkest book yet.

I had to quit listening to the audiobook after 4% – I just could not stand listening to the narrator! The story sounded great, but narrator Amber Bray ruined it for me. She was obviously reading, not acting, her words choppy and stilted. She mispronounces several words, for example pronouncing PREZ (short for president) as PUH-REZ. When I sped up to 2.35 x speed, It was better, but eventually it just graded on my nerves too much!!!!

"Rage had caused me so much pain. His name was a warning, and I didn't listen."

The darker notes in this one really captured my attention, the pain, the anguish, the impossible situation the female lead finds her in, was all keeping me glued to my seat while reading. The missed chances between the two due to a mountain of mistakes was heartbreaking, and it left me wondering if anyone would be left standing at the end.

"There was no manual on how to move forward or how we were supposed to think or feel, but for the life of me, no matter how much I tried...I couldn't stop being afraid."

The fall was sweet, slow, and passionate...I truly was rooting for these two to make it. I was held transfixed until about 75% into the book where it took a weird turn for me. In my personal opinion only, it didn't work for me as a reader when I was expecting something completely different with the situation at hand. It kind of threw me off and didn't let me enjoy the rest of the story for the couple like I anticipated I would, but I'm sure that others may like the twist. I thank the Author for providing a copy to review.

"Vince makes me feel a lot of things, but the one thing he always does is make me feel treasured. I don't ever want to be apart from him, or how special he makes me feel. I can only hope that I never have to."

Not My Style

As a fan of the MC genre, I was excited to read Scarred. There's nothing like a gruff on the outside, soft on the inside, big ol' MC guy. Rage wasn't a guy you hated to love, he was a guy you just hated. Period.

"His name was a warning, and I didn't listen."

Roxy was a tough biker babe and had had enough of it. She's stubborn that's for sure. I can't imagine going through what she did with Rage and "somehow finding a way to forgive him" as she so mildly put it time and time again. She was blinded by his status when she was young and now can't get away from the monster that he has become.

There is one man that can save her, the one she turned away all those years ago for the flashy MC prez. Roxy has to decide if she can leave her MC family for good, or stay and die at the hands of her husband. I'm reviewing a bit vague as to protect the story.

The book started out good, but fast. We were jumping into all kinds of story lines that only had one possible ending. I'm all for a good, dirty, sexy read, but once the word daddy, as well as daddies, in this case, is used. I'm out. It's like pouring a bucket of cold water on me. I wasn't in to the scenes anymore and wanted to finish the book as fast as possible.

This was my first read by this author. I enjoy MC books and based on the blurb, I thought the story would be intriguing. And it was. If you are looking for a dark, truly 1% MC read then this will work for you.

Immediately, your heart is breaking for Roxy. She is in an awful situation and because of the type of men in this MC, no one is willing to help her. After she almost dies, Tex realizes he has done wrong by her long enough and hides her away from her husband.

What follows is a nice slow burn. Declarations of long held feelings. The tension and anxiety that Roxy's husband and his MC will find them. More harrowing action and they finally land with Roxy's brothers at yet another MC. Again, I am in to the story. Everything seems to be following a pattern. You just know that Rage is out there planning more harm until he gets Roxy back. Loved Tex and Roxy together. You just know he is going to be the one to heal her heart.

And then the story at about 2/3 in goes way wonky for me. The author adds another element that just seems off character and unnecessary for the story to progress. Super hot, but given Roxy's history, it just doesn't seem to be the step she would need to heal and get on with her life. Things spiral from there and then the epilogue had be saying--yeah no. I don't want to know how that plays out.

Great book up until a certain point. 4-5 stars until then but sadly does not finish well.

*Complimentary copy given for an honest review.

First I have to say that this book has triggers and I mean big time triggers. So if you can't read about abuse and so much more than do not read this book because it is not for you. I had the chance to listen to this story on Audible and I absolutely loved it.

The narrator Amber Bray was amazing. I love listening to a story because I always feel like I am there right there with the characters. This is a story unlike anything I have read because Roxy is so abused that I wanted to jump into the story and KILL Rage. Rage was such an arsehole and he used and abused his wife Roxy. The things he has done to her is stuff you read about rarely and when you do read it you are appalled.

Then her friend Tex comes to her rescue but they are on the run because they know that Rage will kill both of them. What will they do stay on the run and hide or will Roxy go back to Rage?

This is probably one of the better and more suspenseful MC romances that I've read. I didn't really have high hopes for this book, to be honest, but I was pleasantly surprised with Scarred. And to be honest, again, I don't know if I will be able to read book two. The epilogue sets it up and I have no doubt that it will be so suspenseful and I don't know if I can take it.

Elizabeth Knox knows how to tell a story. She can also write some really hot sex scenes, one including five people. That was unexpected and caused me to squeeze my thighs together. In the end, it kind of turned into a reverse-harem, but that's not how it started.

I found it very hard to put this book down. I finished it within about six hours. I read all the time, so I did end up starting and finishing it within the same day.

There's a scene that describes in detail a brutal rape, so a trigger warning is needed.

That being said, I love that kind of stuff. I sometimes hate admitting that, because what does it say about me if I say I enjoy rape scenes? I just love that dark stuff, because it will really draw me in and capture my interest.

Very suspenseful and action packed! I LOVED this book!

This is an MC story in the darkest end of the genre, there is nothing soft cuddly or loving in Roxanne's life.

Roxanne is the Prez's old lady, whereas in some MC's she would be protected & respected her life is the complete opposite. Her treatment is hard to read at times it's brutal but it's written with a gritty honesty. In her dark world there is a light, Tex trys to protect her but her husband has a stranglehold on more than one chapter of the MC. How long can he watch in silence before he breaks and how long before Rox gives up ?

This was the darkest book I've read by this author and it was oh so good. The storyline was fantastic although complex it flowed effortlessly with well developed characters that inspired feelings of admiration love and hate a whole lot of hate.

I'm looking forward to seeing where the author goes next with this gritty MC.

I voluntarily review an advanced reader copy of this book. WOW! OMG! What a stellar read! This just about knocked me on the floor, I’m loving MC books these days and Elizabeth is just knocking it out of the park! Roxy and Tex are amazing characters, who dated back in the day until she became Rage’s ol’lady thinking she will be happy and loved, but soon finds herself in a sticky situation of abuse, and no one in the “family” is really there to help her until Tex steps up. No spoilers from me here, this is a must read, there are a ton of feels, emotional, suspenseful, angsty, and you will not want to put this one down until you are finished. Please grab this one today ladies, it’s a fantastic read for summer!!

Huge chunks of plot are missing from this book. Fuck all the dark bullshit. I could barely tell WTF was going on it skipped around so much. There’s no build up to any of the relationships and no explanation of how they developed. Totally fuckery.

Includes terrible writing and plot, graphic gang rape, a poly relationship and so much more WTFs than mentioned here.

HOLY CRAP!! What a fantastic read! I have read many MC books but this one takes the cake! Elizabeth Knox really knows how to tell a story! Scarred was so very well written and those characters were amazing! There are not many books that I can read in a day, but this one definitely was. I was engrossed from page one to the very last page. There were so many feels in this book, feels of heartfelt, so much angst, scared, I could keep listing them.

Roxy and Tex were the cutest, hottest couple around. I love how strong she is and for a biker guy...Tex is the sweetest guy. Roxy and Tex dated in high school until Rage stole her away. Once Roxy became Rage’s old lady she should have felt safe and cherished but was the total opposite. It became her own nightmare of being used and abused by Rage and the rest of the club, except Tex. The only question for her is…why did she stick around? Why not get out of that situation? I don’t want to give any spoilers, so I will stop there.

This is my first read by Elizabeth Knox and definitely won’t be my last. Scarred is the first book in the Demons of Hell MC series and I cannot wait to get my hands of book two! If you love an MC book this one is by far one of the best!

3 1/2 Stars
Wow! You are really thrown into the deep end straight away with this book but it works. It’s a shock to the system that leaves you wanting to throttle the monster responsible for doing all of the hurting and violence.

Roxy is a young woman who makes a huge mistake...she mistakes the true identity of her husband, the president of the Demon Hell’s MC club. An error that nearly ends her life a few times, but with nowhere to escape she is stuck between a rock and a hard place...or a fist and a boot!

Things certainly are exciting and dramatic where you can feel your heart racing, often with fear! These bikers are not the legitimate kinds you often read about nowadays, the Demons are truly made up of twisted characters.

Things steam up for Roxy with Vince and others. Unfortunately, the aggression and violence return as well for her too. Then I had trouble wrapping my head around the next heartbreaking event. The reason for the 3 1/2 Stars is because it just seemed unnecessary but maybe more will be revealed in other books. This is a fast-paced story and although not always easy to digest, it’s an easy book to read.

An exciting epilogue finishes this book and leaves you wondering what is going to happen next.

Scarred is book one in Elizabeth’s new MC, Demons of Hell. It is by far her darkest book yet and I did not want to put it down.

Roxy has endured so much at the hands of Rage, how will she ever be able to overcome? I loved watching Roxy grow into herself throughout the book. However, will Rage ever give up his hunt for her?

Tex, was so easy to fall for and I love his character. I loved watching Tex and Roxy’s Journey unfold. I am not going to lie there were times I wanted to throw my kindle. Elizabeth did a fabulous job of keeping me emotionally invested throughout the story.

OMG....OMG....OMG....OMG..... This book is so FREAKING DARK and TWISTED but OH so good and I mean it's VERY GOOD. When I started this book, I couldn't put this book down. Rowy is one FREAKING BAD ASS STRONG WOMAN to take what Rage did to her. I was so shocked and couldn't believe the ending. I'm so ready for the next book NOW PLEASE... Wow ok...so this book had me cringing and yet amazed how well it was written. Spoiler alert the scenes in which she was beaten and trussed up with the other girl were hard to read as they were VERY INTENSE and it made you feel like you were there witnessing it.

It made you want to kill Rage and torture him yourself. I'm not going to say much more because this book is a must read and yet be forewarned that it will trigger certain aspects for those that have been beaten or in an abusive relationship.

This is the first book in the Demons of Hell MC series by Elizabeth Knox. There are so many things I don’t like about this book so I was being extremely generous giving it three stars. Roxy is married to Rage, he’s the President of the Demons of Hell MC and he’s an abusive philanderer. The MC is supposed to be a family, at least that’s what Rage keeps telling her. But what kind of family sits back and watches as one of their own gets beat time and time again ? When she first met Rage she thought they were like Beauty and the Beast. But there was no taming Rage, he was a heartless monster and she had no doubt he would kill her one day. She’s pregnant with their first child and hasn’t told Rage yet, he thinks she’s getting fat. I guess one of the reasons I didn’t really like this book was because none of the characters were likable to me. Rage was a despicable human being and I am certain someone would’ve orchestrated his murder long before now. I wasn’t all that crazy about Roxy either if I’m being honest. The shit that happens after a certain character dies is weird and off putting. I like possessive, alpha bikers who would never share their woman with one guy let alone two. My favorite part of the story was that the Demons of Hell’s Enforcer was named Roman Raines. I am not a fan of wrestling at all but I do love Roman Reigns and even though it was spelled different I thought it was cool.

I really loved everything about this book. I love how Elizabeth writes MC. There are some MC Books that are really nitty gritty, but Elizabeth did a really good job of making this book dark, but not too dark. I was almost scared to read this, because I'm a big baby, but it was the perfect blend. There were some truly horrible things that happened to women, but then were were some great things too.

Roxy and Tex were so strong in this book! Roxy went through so much, but she trusted Tex to help her. The story of her and Rage wasn't a good one, and I was so excited when things turned around for her. Although they did turn around, there were definitely some scary parts of their life together. There also weren't many predictable moments. There was always a twist or turn right when you thought something might happen. She's great at keeping you on your toes.

I really loved how Elizabeth incorporates her other books when she writes, and how the are all connected. Bringing in the Reapers MC into this was awesome, I loved hearing about Roxy's past in this book. At the end of the book I was so sad there wasn't more. I actually messaged Elizabeth asking her why the book ended? LOL. I loved very minute and can't wait to see what comes next!

Scarred (Demons of Hell MC) by Elizabeth Knox is an amazing read. This is the first book in the Demons of Hell MC series. This is the story of Roxy and Tex. Tex is a member of the MC and was Roxy's friend in high school. Roxy has had a hard life since her senior year of high school when her father died. She is married to Rage the President of the Demons of Hell MC. He beats her all the time and sometimes within an inch of her life. It was after one of these such beatings that Tex took Roxy away from the MC and tried to keep her safe. Tex and Roxy have always been close but the were ignoring it since she married Rage. As they make their escape they grow closer. Will Roxy let her past get between them? Will Rage find them and kill them? Will they get their HEA? You will need to read the book to get the answer to these questions. This is a roller coaster ride of ups, downs, twists and turns, emotional highs and lows. This book had me crying at some points. I definitely recommend this book and can't wait for the next book in this series.

I am going to give this a solid 3.25.

Roxy is married to Rage, the Prez of the Demons of Hell MC. Rage's name fits him well. He's full of rage, and he takes it out on Roxy. He's spent most of their whole marriage beating her and passing her around to members of his MC as well as other MCs. He's treated her just terribly, but she's stuck by him because she knows if she tries to escape, he will hunt her down. But now, she's pregnant, and Rage doesn't know yet, and she's not sure when she will tell him, but she wants to just be the best mom she can be. Right until he beats her with a baseball bat.

Tex is Rage's best friend. They both met Roxy when she was a teenager, but Tex was dating her first. Then Rage pushed in and took over. He's spent all the years til now watching what happened to her. He stayed away as much as possible, and since the worst things that Rage did happened when he was gone, he doesn't know everything that's happened. But when he comes home to find her laying 98% dead on the sidewalk outside the clubhouse, he knows it's time to do something.

Hmmm... I would get knocked in and out of the story. There were times that I really loved what was going on, but then there were also times when I just didn't like what was happening at all. There is some graphic description of abuse that happens in the book. I felt, overall, like it was almost 2 books pushed together, and I think that it would've worked better if it had been broken down into 2 separate stories. That way the love story that happened would have gotten more attention and would've gotten the attention that it deserved. I really liked that part and would really love to see more of it.

There Aren’t Enough Trigger Warnings Before Starting This Book/Series 🩸
Although it’s an eye-opener/reminder of what happens in the real world, I think I’ll be skipping the rest of these types of books from this author🚫
Anyways, here’s some ⚠️⚠️⚠️Proper Trigger Warnings ⚠️⚠️⚠️ Rape, Rape-Trains/Gangbangs, Bloody Beatings Nearing Death Also Causing 5month Preggy Miscarriage (I’m surprised the author didn’t write about Rage shoving the bat into her while attempting to beat Roxy to death…unless that was implied?!!)! Murder, Suicide, Torture, Kidnapping (a 13yr old), plus more…⚠️⚠️⚠️
🩸As per the Book: Warning:
This content contains material that may be viewed as offensive to some readers, including graphic language, dangerous and sexual situations, non-consensual situations (including rape), physical abuse, multiple partners and extreme violence.

🔹I am very much to each their own, I’m not dissing the author/book, just a no thank you for me🔹 Honestly, better TW’s & I would have just skipped it!!

Darker than the deepest cave. This book kept me in suspense as to if there will be a rise in her freedom or of self having suffered such abuse. I guess sort of realistically shit hit the fan again. The most disturbing part was book 2 preview. It showed me that this darkness didn't end. I'm not sure why this monster wasn't put to ground or why kitty wasn't found but i can't go through what seems even worse than what her mother went through. Pretty sick stuff. I read to escape horrors, not entrench them in my subconscious. And i know its out there and i fight against it, i don't put my head in the sand. I'm trying to figure out why this was written? Catharsis, perversion, taboo, fantasy...horrible. i gave it a 1 because it was written well but i cringed through most of it. Almost stopped reading but did not feel right about leaving a review wo finishing. And hoping for a sliver of light at the end of the tunnel. Depressing as f@%k
