Through the workings of the School Mystery Clock Keepers, Kamome Academy's entire student body is covered in wrinkles!? To restore peace to the school, Hanako-kun teams up with a certain someone. Just when they thought the case was headed to its conclusion, the secret of Hanako-kun's assistant Nene is brought to light! What could it possibly be!?
This series continues to have the outstanding trait of being both absolutely fucking adorable and unabashedly fucking terrifying in the span of one volume. Delightful!
Seriously though, this volume dropped a huge bombshell early on and it was DEVASTATING. Now this series has a grave deadline (pun intended) to meet and I'm super fucking curious to see how this will go. The series has thrown a lot of curveballs this early on, so trying to predict where the series will go is like trying to keep your cat from knocking shit off the counter.
Have a mentioned that the artwork/ art style accurately captures both the sweet and the horrifying? The heartwarming and the disturbing? Because it does. Almost too well. Which is a good thing, make no mistake, but also unsettling.
Finally, you know how there's that one scene in a manga that just takes your breath away like you've been punched in the gut? Yeah, one of those scenes happened and it broke my heart while knocking the wind out of me. So, yeah. That was a thing.
I'm rambling at this point, so I'm gonna wrap up this review. This was another phenomenal volume in what is easily one of my favorite series of all time. Loved it, looking forward to more.
This was a fantastic volume which revealed a lot more about what’s in store for Nene Yashiro *cries* I’m very surprised by the turn of events in this instalment and what this means for our radish-legged heroine (I don’t think she has radish legs - I think she’s adorable) <3
Elsewhere the mystery of the three clock keepers is resolved and Nene and Hanako-kun get closer!!!
I’ve always wondered whether we should trust the titular character - sometimes he seems really good and other times, he’s a lot more morally grey. All I do know is that Kou definitely has Nene’s back and I’m sooooo grateful he does!
This is one of the volumes in this manga series that makes me grateful I started it from the beginning and not where the anime leaves off because the anime withholds VITAL information. My jaw was on the FLOOR.
I continue to live for the fact that this series is equal parts depressing and heartwarming. The bomb that was thrown at me made me collapse in on myself. But then the moment Yashiro and Hanako shared on the rooftop had me shaking crying throwing up. It was so cute!
I just love this series so much! I’ve really taken my time with it in large part because it’s so good that I don’t want it to ever end 🥺 I want to read about Yashiro, Hanako and Kou until I’m old and gray. AidaIro just fucking know what they’re DOING with this series. I will forever bow down to them and their excellent character work, artwork, and plotting that keeps me on the edge of my seat.
I really should have seen that twist coming, but somehow I didn't. Now I'm torn as to whether it's going to manage to be a positive or just another sad story to add to the list. It could go either way and have the series remain as strong.
I honestly loved this volume. So much happened that either concerned me or made me really happy or shocked. I can’t wait to be all caught up with it :)
4/5 Stars: ‘Toilet-bound Hanako-kun (Vol.6)’ by AidaIro. → Age Range: Young Adult. → Genre: Fantasy, Supernatural Horror. → Book Type: Manga.

General Comments: Toilet-bound Hanako-kin is translated by Square Enix and Co; story by Iro and illustrated by Aida. This is Volume 6. Reviewing Manga is complicated; reviewing each volume - individually- does not reflect the overall enjoyment of the series. As such, the star-rating should be utilised as a guideline only. If anything, you should pick up Toilet-bound Hanako-kun. The intent of this work is to recall Japanese Tales from Folklore and Mythology, using the contrasting genres of horror and comedy. See Volume 1 for a more personal review.

This volume had so much. There was a twist I was definitely not expecting but was developed exceptionally well. As always, the characters are written with so much humor and heart. The art continues to be amazing. I honestly can't recommend this series enough.
Okay let me get this out–oLDER KOU IS SO HOT??? Even if he looks almost the same as his brother but still, thank you Mirai for letting us witness it ✨ I do still think Teru looks hotter especially when he’s being savage though 💖
I hate that everyone around Nene knows about her lifespan except for herself though. Just like Hanako said, it’s true that nothing can change if they let Nene know the truth but still, leaving only her in the dark is a bit saddening :( I wonder if Hanako actually felt sad about it–Kou obviously is and is doing his best to make her happier–since he has spent a lot of time with Nene.
Nene giving Hanako a kiss to cheer him up was so sudden but they’re so adorable 🩷🩷🩷 the way Hanako was flustered about it and Nene became more embarrassed– I LOVE THEM SO MUCH 😭💕💕
Mitsuba muncul lagi! Akhirnya! My cute little strawberry shortcake!! Kou pun seperti biasa, tetep maniiiisss~~!! Dia imut sekali! Sasuga my booooi!! <3 <3 <3
4.5/5. Though I don't remember much of vol 5 now a month after reading it, I sure do remember what happened in this volume! An emotional gut-punch of a plot twist that really deepened the characters and relationships even more. I'm really becoming a fan of this series, but especially its characters.
volume 6 was extremely boring compared to the rest of the novels prior, not nearly as boring as number one but still a let down after the masterpieces 4 and 5 brought.
