Sam “Sidewinder” Jameson left the Rangers to keep an eye on his young friend, Kid, as he recovers from their last mission, an injury Sam blames himself for. To tide him over and be close at hand, Sidewinder agrees to a short stint with Hank Patterson’s Brotherhood Protectors. He expects his assignment to guard Alana Christian and her son from threats to be a job, nothing more. What he doesn’t plan on is how the job will change him and his expectations, both of Kid and of himself.
I thoroughly enjoyed this romantic suspense novella with great characters and an intriguing plot. The pacing is fast and the writing flows smoothly. Glad I found this book. Happy ☺reading 📚!
I love the Brotherhood Protector series, this one falls really short only because the author didn't take the time to have her book proofread! The author has several conflicting editing errors on top of alot of silly/lazy editing errors. She gets the brothers (Hanson & Price) confused, first Hanson is in prison with Price causing the threats, then Price is in prison AND causing the threats and then the time Hanson is in prison goes from 8 months to 3 years all within the first 2-3 days of the story. I am only at the 47% mark so who knows what I will find in the last half the book :(
Its a KU so no money lost just your time to figure out who is where for how long.
never read this author before but she needs to take more time to make sure the story is clean and correct before she rushes to publish, or get a couple proofreaders to check her work. I am not a fan of authors who rush to publish before the book is proofread, especially if I have to spend money on it.
I love these books the world's of the original authors and the new authors I find and go on to read. Alana works for the state prosecutor in Helena but has been recieving death threats because of someone she put behind bars. When a tyre blows on the freeway and its found to be more gunfire than anything, her boss decides that she must have time off while he investigates what's happening. On the ranch she meets Sam and Jacob (kid). Sam has always blamed himself for Jacobs injuries because he ignored the tell tale signs that something was wrong. As Sam becomes Alana's bodyguard and Jacob is with Charlie a threat comes out because of what she done. As Charlie goes missing it's a race against time to save him. Can Sam and the rest of the ranch get to Charlie before Price can do anything? A great read from start to finish.
Sam is a protector. Whether he is watching over Kid who he feels an obligation for, or looking out for Alana and her son, he can't help himself. But somewhere along the way things change. It's no longer a job watching out for Alana and Charlie. For the first time he can see himself wanting more in life with Alana and it doesn't scare him. He wants to keep her safe. He wants to find the man who is threatening her life and take her away from it all. McKeever wets your appetite for a good lovestory in this one when the book abruptly ends. I wanted more. I wanted to know for sure that Sam and Alana were going to be together. Otherwise good suspense.
Sam "Sidewinder" stayed with Kid at the rehab ranch since he felt responsible for his injury, didn't want him to get hurt anymore. He was smothering him and not letting him be a man. He was kind of arrogant at first about being a babysitter, but Alayna set him straight. Her and her son were under his protection. She didn't appear to be a very cooperative person to me at first. I really appreciate all the verterans go thru to try to connect with society again. There is some action here and trying to find the person who is trying to kill her.
Saving Sidewinder: The characters were fantastic throughout the story! It was strong dialog throughout the book and it kept the readers on the edge of their chairs. Loved the heat between Alana and Sidewinder. I loved how determine Alana was not to be left out. I liked that an try to be strong for Charlie. Charlie and Kid were good Support team for each other and I loved that. Great writing!
This was excellently written with some memorable characters. One of the things to me that was most enjoyable was the fact it was basically clean. To me this made the story more realistically told. There was plenty of action in it to keep the readers interest and reads fairly fast. All in all a great read.
I can overlook a few typos or grammtical errors, but it is clear there was no proofreading or editing of any kind done to this book. The mistakes are laughable and distracting--even silly things like having the first two letters of a work capitalized (i.e. FIrst) multiple times throughout the book. Really? The story had an interesting premise, but I really struggled to get past the errors.
Sam met Alana when he opened his mouth and said he didn't want to be a babysitter. Alana had moved to the ranch when someone shot out the tire on her car. She and Charlie were hoping that being on the ranch would be safer. However when Sam and Alana go for a ride someone takes another shot at her. She is afraid for both her son and herself.
Saving Sidewinder is a great addition to the Brotherhood Protectors series. The story touches on the hardships of the disabled veterans and the places that can help them. It also touches on what can happen to the prosecutors and witnesses in the courtrooms of the really bad people an the lengths they'll go to.
I really liked the story and getting to see characters from the Brotherhood Proctors. Only problems with the book is the editing and one spot where the amount of time the brother was in jail changed.
